Acrobat Pro end of trial offer - impossible to use

My trial ended and up popped this window.
After long mulling decided it was worth giving it a go for a year, even though monthly subscriptions for software are really not appealling to me.
I click on subscribe now.
But nothing goes into my basket.
I've wasted too much of my precious time on it now.
I can play with PDFs using cheaper options instead.
But really Adobe - with no obvious e-mail contact method to help people spend their hard-earned money, you're really letting yourselves down.

You may also purchase the full product. At this point you have to start out with the subscribe order and then in the order page you should find a menu where you can change to the full product, rather than the subscription. Your comment about subscription suggested this might be a preferred path. Sorry, but Adobe has really messed up the order stuff, making it difficult for folks to find the full product or options.

The acrobat installed but when i attempt to print the pdf file it says i have to sign in to acrobat but then it goes round and round, (i am currently signed in to adobe,) and says over and over 'retry' either my computer is not connected to the internet, which it is, or the clock on my computer is wrong, which it isnt. help????

That's a lot of trouble to go to to print something - you can use the free Adobe Reader for that.

Downloaded Acrobat Assistant but the window with language option does not appear and Acrobat Pro II free trial does not download. I have signed in successfully. Why?

    Hi irenedix,
After Adobe Download Assistant is installed, you can start it at any time and select a product to download at the bottom of the window. The list updates as new products become available to download with the Adobe Download Assistant.
    Please refer : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/download-assistant-faq.html#main_How_do_ I_download_a_trial_version_of_Creative_Suite_or_Elements_software_
Alternatively you can try downloading it from the direct download links available at: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html

  • Acrobat Pro Xl Free trial dont launch

I downloaded and installed the Acrobat Pro Xl Free trial.
When trying to launch it i get a message that I am not connected to the internet.  But I am!
I also get a hint that the clock in my computer is incorrect. I can't see it is.
The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium, SP 2.
    Does anyone know the solution?

    Hi Laguru,
The error you are getting usually comes up when you try to activate the software (Please ref. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html )
The trial version does not need activation. Nevertheless you can try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the above KB.
BTW, Windows Vista is not listed as a tested platform for Acrobat 11.
Please check the tech specs at : http://www.adobe.com/in/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html

  • Error Message With Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Free Trial Version

    Hi,
I know that this is a holiday weekend, but I need assistance with Adobe Acrobat 9 Free Trial Version.  I downloaded it, and then created a PDF file from MS Word 2007.  I tried to print, but the "save as" command popped up.  I had already saved it, so it already had a document name.  I tried resaving it and it would not do so.  Here's the error message that I received:
"Adobe PDF cannot access the file because it is in use by another application process.  Verify that the file is not open by another application or process and try again.
I did not have another app open.  Also, during this time, the software setup box kept popping up.  I kept selecting the 30 day trial version, but nothing would happen after I selected the button.  I am using the Vista OS on my computer.  I also have the Adobe Reader 9 which I have had for a while.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the free version of Adobe Acrobat 9 and got the same result as described above.  If someone can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.
    Michelle Williams

You have a problem. You cannot have Reader and Acrobat Pro on the same computer. It causes problems. Normally, I'd tell you to uninstall Reader and re-install Acrobat Pro, but doing so might make your trial fail and you cannot get two trials. For the moment when trying to create a pdf file, try printing to the the Adobe PDF virtual printer.

  • Acrobat Pro XI crashes when 'Save As' is used for a package that had been edited?

We have a package that is opened, edited and then we try to use 'Save As' to save it and Acrobat Pro XI crashes. No error codes are displayed and nothing is logged in any event log.
Our work around - First save the package in the final distination folder then open it, edit it and save it.
Is there a known issue with using the 'Save As' option for a package?

  • Acrobat Pro Extended 9.3.1 - Can't use "Send for Shared Review"

After the last update for Acrobat Pro Extended, I cannot send RoboHelp PDF generated documents for shared reivew. I used to be able to send draft reviews of the help (in PDF) using our public shared drive. The error indicates: "The filename you specified is not valid because it does not include a .pdf extension, contains one or more invalid characters or the path preceding it refers to a protected system location." I have not changed any of the items mentioned in the error and yet after the last software release update to the 9.3.1, the share review option is not working. Has anyone run into this issue and can help with pointers?

I am surprised the patch allowed you to update from AA9.0.0 to 9.3.1 directly. Almost all patches (updates) for Acrobat are incremental and they must be installed in sequence. I suspect this it true for AA9 also, but I could be wrong.
I suspect it was the jump that is causing the problem. I would suggest you reinstall AA9 (you may have to be careful about activating and deactivating so you do not lose your number of license installs). Once you are back to AA9.0.0, then either use the "Check for Updates" or download all of the updates and install them in order. You may have to reboot after some of the changes. It looks like you have 7 updates to go through. Folks have complained about the updates not being cummulative for years, don't expect things to change.

  • Acrobat Pro reverts to trial version after 15 days.

    Hi,
I am having an issue where acrobat 11 reverts to a trial version of sorts after 15 days.  I am utilizing APTEE to generate a .xml file with my volume license key.
    A. What check is the product executing for this.
    B. Can i disable that "check" as my machines will not have an internet connection.
    thanks.

    Hi nayr6,
Are you still facing this issue?
What is the current version of Acrobat installed? Are you the Administrator user of the machine?
Do you have domain admin rights or local admin rights.
You cant disable the license check for application.
Share your serial number with private message option, do not post the serial number on this thread.

  • Acrobat Pro DC free trial - failed installation

Acrobat Installer fails to complete the installation when it reaches the 50% (tried several times). I'm installing on a Mac OS X.

if the installation hangs, check your activity monitor for the problematic process and terminate it.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.0 and 9.1 crash using Portable Home Directory

Installed 9.0 as part of CS4 Design Suite, and updated to 9.1. Runs OK for user on local machine but crashes when used by a portable home directory user on same machine, accessing user on OSX Server on local network. Safari also crashes when accessing pdf document. Can anyone help please?

Thanks, the workaround in message 34 worked for me (so far!). Much more helpful than this reply from Adobe: "I am afraid we are unable to troubleshoot errors with customized user accounts. If the program works locally, we advice to use the program locally."
    Thanks again.

  • Why no Acrobat Pro 9 trial versions for Mac

I received my upgrade box for CS5 and the instructions said to delete (uninstall) Acrobat Pro 9 and then re-install it from the included disk. No big deal, I installed CS5 then uninstalled Acrobat as instructed, popped in the DVD of the new Acrobat Pro 9 that came in the box and up pops a message that every Mac users knows asking what I'd like to name the blank DVD and if I would like to mount it? That means the DVD is bank and never been burned. Confused I put it in my laptop with the same result! It was a blank DVD from Adobe!
Looking at the back of the disk it was clear it had never been burned to, you can tell when a disk has an image on it or not.
So thinking I'm clever I go to the download site to download a trail version of Acrobat Pro 9 thinking I could install it and when the question comes up to use it in trial mode to enter a serial number I could just enter the number and be done with it.
So I followed the procedure and waited for the emailed link to tell me where to get my download from, 10 minutes later it showed up, I followed the link and the pull down option only showed 4 versions to download, all for Windows! I searched and searched and could not find a Mac version anywhere.
Today I was able to get customer service on the phone who was glad to ship me another copy, they at firs suggested I just download the demo (just like I tried the night before) and I told them I could not get a link for the Mac. She put me on hold, then came back to the phone apologizing and telling me I was correct, there is no trial or download version of Acrobat Pro 9 for the Mac. I would have to wait for the replacement DVD.
So to me the question is I would have a hard time believing there are more Acrobat Pro 9 versions on PC's than on Macs even though there are so many more PC users. I've never met a single Acrobat Pro user on a PC and I work in IT/MIS at several very large companies. Only the Mac people ever seem to want the pro version, sometimes a few PC users in Marketing or legal want the Regular Acrobat but not the Pro version.
So Adobe why no Acrobat Pro downloads or trials for Mac users? Seems the long standing good relationship between Mac users and Adobe continues to be neglected and diminished. This is hardly the only item I've come across in the last few years where Adobe treats Mac users like secondhand users.

What  extra work! two, three lines of extra code (may just one) to put a time limit in, that can be overridden with entering a bought serial number. Even shareware peopel do it.
And I remeber when Acrobat only worked on Mac's. You see it was introduced to Mac's first. Microsoft wouldn't allow it until version 3 or 4.  If I still had my 7100/66 I might could prove was I one of the beta Testers. But that machine was traded in on the G4-500 (which I still own).
Most major software companies will come out with a new application on the Mac first. Because Mac users tend tobe willing to try out something new on the cutting edge. Then when its prefected they come out with a PC version, and forget about the Mac community.
Look I am 61. And I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I've been around since before the days of the moden internet. I  started with Buliten Boards on 300 baud modem on an old fashion POTS line.  Cost me a fortune in Phonebills
So don't discount my experiences so lightly. I've used appliactions such as ATM Aldus PageMaker (yes you heard right Aldus). I've use Word Perfect for Mac and PC back when it was owned by WordPefect, then Novell) I've use Microsoft works when it came out for the SE/30. Lotus 1-2-3 both on Mac and PC, FaxSTF, and other that are now none existent on the Mac. Chance are I was using Computers about the same as some of you and probabaly earlier than some. I lived it.
