Acrobat Pro: Layers Panel messed up. How to resize?

Hi,
I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro. My layers panel doesn't appear normally. As you can see, the visibility icon doesn't line up with the layer, and the boxes are expanded. I can't seem to resize them. I've uninstalled the software and reinstalled. It didn't fix anything. Any ideas?

I have Acrobat Pro 9.5.5, the last release of it. Moving the mouse over the right side of the window does let me reside the pane width, but that isn't what I want to do. I want to resize it vertically to look like the image below, how it's supposed to look.

  • I paid for acrobat pro, now my copmputer died, how do i get it back, do i have to pay again or can i download it again some how?

    the subject says it all

You do not have to repurchase the software.  You can download it and reinstall.  Where you get it from depends on where you got it from originally.  If you purchased a licensed version then here are a couple links that might include your version:
    Acrobat XI, X - http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html
    Acrobat 9, 8 - http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html
If you got it as part of a Cloud subscription, just reinstall thru the Cloud.

  • How to open pdf in Acrobat Reader in Firefox window/Tab when both Acrobat Pro and Acrobat REader are

I would like to open pdf files in firefox using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
I have both Acrobat Pro or whatever its called and Acrobat Reader installed.
Presently going to firefox's tools, options, then selecting the file types option I cannot select any plugin to open my pdf's besides what's labeled as "adobe acrobat" but which executes an in-tab instance of Adobe Acrobat Pro, despite the ambiguous language on the plugin which I suspect stems from Adobe's evolving and confusing conventions regarding just what Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Adobe Acrobat Pro really is.
Anyways, how to make pdfs open in-tab instances of Adobe Acrobat Reader while I have both the Reader and the Pro installed?
Is there a sepperate plugin I need or something?
    Any help is very Appreciated

    eh,
The problem w/ acrobat is that it takes forever to load
I was going to just use reader to read documents, and acrobat to edit, so I could gut reader of all the plugins worthless for 99.9999 of pdfs I use and it'll load fast.
foxit is nice, but won't open in-browser despite their continuing claims of supporting this feature.
That's so bizarre that adobe won't allow you to choose which one you want to run. Its installed as sepperate programs on the uninstall list, on the "open with" context menu, and w/ file associations, so why would it not be possible to only open pdf links w/ one?
Maybe its time to abandon acrobat and just use reader. There's much cheaper programs w/ all the same functionality as acrobat, so I guess I'll move on to those.
If anyone else has suggestions feel free to make em.

  • Accidentally closed a doc Adobe Acrobat Pro HOW TO RECOVER

Working on Adobe Acrobat Pro accidentally closed a doc, HOW CAN I recover changes?? Help!!! 10 hours of work. "revert" is grayed out under File tab.

Thanks. My default is set to autosave but I realized later that the doc I was sent to edit had some feature that prevented the autosave from kicking in. Of course, who would notice that the small “revert” tab is grayed out? How can I override that in future? Save by different name?
I thought the doc might be in my recycle bin, but it was not. Would have been nice for Adobe to warn me as I was closing that the doc had tons of unsaved changes (like 10 hours worth!!!), and ask me to confirm I wanted to close. I had two docs open and the other one didn’t need to be saved—my cursor just happened to be active on the one I needed to save. Adobe, grrrr. Get out of the 1980s, when many word processing programs did not have autosave. The WP app designers understand--we need autosave. It should be automatic unless you explicitly reject it.
And then the Acrobat Pro help line is not open on weekends. I was hoping they would know where it was somewhere on my computer.

When using the text box( typewriter ) It appears black but when I click away it is a lighter grey. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.13
. How do I fix this? It never used to do that.@

    Hi cj0094,
Please try changing the registry key HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\Annots\cAnnots\cfreetext_003_afreetexttypewriter and change the opacity back to 1. This should reset the color to black.
Note: Please backup the registry before modifying it.

Not possible. This is a file-specific setting, not an application-wide

I have an Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription without a serial number.  In a needed reformatting of my hard drive, Adobe Acrobat was removed.  How do I get access to my Adobe program again?

    Hi,
Go to http://www.adobe.com and sign-in with you Adobe ID ( on which you purchased the subscription).
Then, on right hand side panel, click on 'Desktop' under Apps section. And then location Acrobat XI Pro and download it.

  • How can I add system font to Acrobat Pro X?

I tried to use "Edit Document Text" Function. There is an error pop-up as " All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot add or delete text using the currently selected font.". How can I add system font to Acrobat Pro X?

It is referring to the fonts installed on your computer - to edit text within a PDF you must have the same font installed (i.e. one with the same PostScript name). Acrobat doesn't have a separate way to load fonts, you install them in the normal way through your operating system control panel after downloading/purchasing the font files from a vendor.

  • Adobe CS3 Suite -- How to Get InDesign and Acrobat Pro to Install?

I uninstalled and deactivated my Adobe CS3 Design Premium from my 1st gen Macbook (2006) and installed it on my 3rd gen Macbook Air (2011). When I installed CS3 using the original discs, InDesign and Acrobat did not install properly. How to fix?
    My questions:
    1. Got any ideas how to install InDesign and Acrobat Pro without uninstalling the whole CS3, running the cleaner tool, and reinstalling everything again? I tried to rerun the installer just for InDesign and Acrobat Pro but I got the same result -- no install.
    2. Installing CS3 takes forever -- at least several hours. Is it because I'm sending it over my wireless network? (I'm "sharing" the DVD drive on my other Macbook because my Air doesn't have one.)
    Thanks so much!!
(More background, in case it's useful -- before installing CS3, I had run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to clean up the mess I made when I tried to migrate CS3 using Mac's migration assistant. I learned, thanks to this forum, that I couldn't use the Migration Assistant tomove CS3. I also found that the unistaller didn't transfer, so I manually deleted folders and then used the cleaner. It worked wel enough to allow me to install everything but InDesign and Acrobat Pro.)

Thanks Jeff (and Manish). I'm all for better reliability and a quicker installation.
This may seem like a dumb question, but how do I properly copy the CS3 install files onto a USB? Drag and drop everythng from the CD? Can I not just copy the files onto my desktop and install from there? That is what I thought Manish suggested, to install from the desktop.
I had tried this method. After copying the install files to the desktop, here's what happened: I clicked the setup application and it opened, but it immediately detected that I had CS3 installed and wouldn't let me go any further. Perhaps that was due to other problems resulting from use of the Migration Assistant.
Previously, when I used the install disk on the shared drive, I was able to open the setup and install the couple of CS3 programs that weren't installed the first time around. That installation attempt failed and led me here to my original post.
    Many thanks!

  • Export to PDF from Autocad: Acrobat always opens PDF with 'layers panel and page' shown.

    Hello,
Whenever I export to PDF from Autocad, Adobe Acrobat opens the PDF with the 'Layers Panel and Page' shown.
Each time I have to manually go to 'Properties' and select 'Page only', close 'Properties' and close the PDF and select to save the changes, in order to show the just the page.
Is there a way to make PDFs always export to 'Page only' automatically as default?
    Thanks!
    Ione

Thakns Peter, I had seen this thread, but it doesn't really address my issue. I've exported individual chapters from the book file, all with success, so I know there isn't a file corruption issue.  The problem seems to do more with memory allocation/usage.
I have tried: quitting and then immediately exporting the file, and even rebooting and then relanuching and exporting.  Both of these allow me to get a few pages farther along, but still not through the entire book.
I remember back in the day there used to be a setting for how much RAM/dis c space was allocated to a certain applicatino (I knowm it was a long time ago).  I didn't know if there might be something like this hidden somewhere

  • How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X?

How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X? I'd like to modifiy the file which I have only as a PDF/A.

There's two answers if you want to modify the file:
You can temporarily turn off PDF/A Mode in your preferences, so they don't open as read-only. The problem would be if you do something to the file that violated the PDF/A standard, so you should always run a Preflight check afterwards to make sure.
If you want to remove the PDF/A header tag, use Preflight again - it's on the Print Production Panel in Acrobat X Pro (which may be hidden, use the options menu on the Tools Pane to show it). There's a profile called "Remove PDF/A information" - choose this and press Analyze and Fix. Nothing else about the file will be altered but when you save and reopen it all the editing tools will become active.

  • I am trying to re-instal Acrobat Pro on my computer after changing OS and resetting everything. I am using the CC panel for intallation. It shows it installed and won't let me install it.

I am trying to re-instal Acrobat Pro on my computer after changing OS and resetting everything. I am using the CC panel for installation. It shows it installed and won't let me install it. I doubled check everything on my computer and it is not installed. Even more, all my PDF files now show an HTML extension rather that PDF and only opens in my browser, which means the program is not here.
How to re-install it, please, when the CC panel installer won't let me do it? Thanks!

    Try "Pacifist"!
Pacifist is an application for Mac OS X that opens up .pkg installer packages, .dmg disk images, .zip, .tar, .tar.gz, .tar.bz2, .pax, and .xar archives, and more, and lets you install individual files out of them. This is useful if you need to install just one file out of a package instead of the entire package

  • Question How do I reinstall Acrobate Pro X

I was having problems with my Acrobate Pro X software so I uninstalled using Windows 7 control panel uninstaller now I can't find how and where to reinstall the program. Can you give guidance?
    I

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com
