Acrobat Pro X 10 Reinstall

Acrobat wouldn't start, so I uninstalled it. Then I discovered the cause from this site, so I restored my system. Although Acrobat reappeared, it posted a couple of error messages, one relating to missing cab files, the other saying "Error 1" and "Please uninstall and reinstall the product."
The problem I have is that the CS6 installation mentions configuring products. If I select Acrobat, it says it can't be configured but allows me to continue. I don't want to go further because it's not clear what if anything will be reinstalled.
Anyone know if Acrobat will be reinstalled, and whether the unchecked products will be ignored?

Don't worry about the rest - the installer will simply reinstall everything in a worst case, but this doesn't touch any user or configuration data, so nothing is lost. in an ideal case it would check the install state of the otehr apps and then only install only acro, but you never know...

  • Acrobat pro X error: Cannot use this product under a guest account

We are installing acrobat pro with GP on XP systems. The install goes fine but on some users machines when they launch the program it comes back with
"Cannot use this product under a guest account". The users are admins on the system. If I uninstall acrobat pro 10 and reinstall in manually the same error happens. (note these systems had acrobat pro 9 installed, but was un-installed with the acrobat pro 10 MST)

Adobe WTF???!!! I have wasted a whole day on this problem and it's pissing me off. I'm trying to do something very simple.
I have Acrobat Standard X. I installed the software on local administrator User A and it works
I login as local administrator User B and it doesn't work, says "Cannot use this product under a guest account". Fine.
I uninstalld software as User A and reboot
I login as User B and installd the software. Software doesn't run, still says "Cannont use this product under a guest account". Why???!!! This is ridiculous. User B, is a local admin acount, it is not a "guest account". I understand that with this license I can only run the software with one account. I want to run the software with User B, why are you forcing me to run it with User A???!!!
Can someone from Adobe please give a solution to this ridiculous problem? I'm losing my patience with your products and I am considering going another route...

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro for MAC

I have been unable to download PDF's from trusted sites.  While the file downloads, it will not open and is listed as unreadable.  When I attempt to print to PDF docs are blank.  If I simply attempt to print certain files they are blank as well.  How can I fix this?

What version of Acrobat Pro are you using? It's possible you may need to uninstall Acrobat (there is a link to the Uninstaller in the Applications/Acrobat Pro folder), then reinstall again.

  • Acrobat pro V10

I had a PC crash and need the download of Acrobat professional version 10 which I have the product key. Is it still available?

Bill@VT - thanks for your advice.  I have followed it - see below.
CBarron - thanks for your report as to how you solved the problem. - see below.
Followed your steps, removed the nonfunctional Acrobat Pro, rebooted.  Reinstalled the program as Admin, with Norton Security disabled.  Rebooted,  Ran the program as admin, and updated, then, with security disabled, installed the update.  Rebooted.  And now the program loads and runs.   But......
Now I have another problem - the program would only install as a trial - wouldn't accept my license key [it was part of the suite].  Grrrrrrr..  I've had enough of this for this evening.  Tomorrow I will try to solve that problem and will report back.
Once again, thanks for your suggestions and reports.

  • Reinstalled Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 won't let me print web pages to PDFs

I'm really ticked at Adobe's "help" in updating the program only to cause a lot of misery.  I'd read Acrobat had a security update, and got a constant reminder from Adobe update to install the available update.  I've been using Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 with absolutely no problems printing web pages to PDFs.  I installed the 8.1.7 update which immediately disabled Acrobat completely.  So I wasted a lot of time uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling sequential versions to get back to 8.1.6.  Now I can't print web pages to a PDF.
I had NOT done anything else to installed programs in the meantime, except that probably Norton has automatically updated antivirus files in the background.  I don't have any problems using Acrobat to open and print an existing PDF, or to create new PDFs from my scanner.  I can do a hardcopy print of a webpage by selecting my Brother printer.  From Word 2002 and Excel 2002, I can create a PDF by "printing" to Acrobat as usual.   The only problem is creating a PDF by "printing" a webpage by selecting Acrobat as the device from the list of available printers.  This problem happens both with Firefox and with Internet Explorer 7.
I have Windows XP Pro SP3.  I did the most recent Windows Tuesday security update several days before messing around with Acrobat and did not have any problems printing PDF files from Firefox or IE7.  So, it seems like it's clearly an Adobe Acrobat problem.  I get the small box saying "Preparing to Print" which goes nowhere and then I have to use the Task Manager to get out of the loop.  That closes Firefox, and when I reopen Firefox, the same webpage comes up.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.0 distiller ICC profile error asks for reinstall

I have Windows XP professional, SP3.
My Systems Administrator recently upgraded my Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 to 9.1.0 and since then I keep getting an error that says: Distiller cannot find its standard ICC profiles. Please reinstall Adobe Acrobat to correct this problem.
    This error happens when:
    1. I print to Adobe from a web page (IE 7.0.5730.11 or Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.20)
    2. I try to print to any printer from certain websites, such as the usps.com, where I print all our postage labels from.
    3. Occasionally when I start up the PC.
Sometimes I get the error but it still pdfs the page. Usually, though, it hangs and then Acrobat and the web browser close.
I seem to be able to pdf MS Office 2007 items (Word, Excel) and my Filemaker Pro Advanced 10 records. I guess it's when I'm "printing" to Adobe as opposed to "saving as pdf" that I have this problem.
Acrobat 8 worked fine. My Sys Admin has reinstalled the upgrade twice (after trying a repair which didn't work) to no avail. He can't find any documentation about this error at Adobe, so he's going to uninstall it and switch me back to Adobe 8.
I do all of the pdf'ing of our deliverable documents at my company and I would like to have the latest edition of Acrobat. If anyone knows of anything I can do, please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Stephie

Adobe Tech support was most helpful on this.  First download the updated
    Distiller ICC profile files at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4075&fileID= 3790
Unzip the file and copy only the *.icc files (without regard to the subfolders that they are in - in other words, take the files out of each of the subfolders) to the followng folder in Windows 7:
    c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
These new files will probably overwrite some old ones.
This solved the problem for me.
This is actually the best solution though I found that instead of copying all the .icc files to the windows\sys...  folder, all you need to do is copy the 3 Video files from the RGB folder (VideoHD.icc, VideoNTSC.icc, and VideoPAL.icc).  Once you add these three files to  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color  you will be good to go.
It seems that this was an error on the part of Adobe in that there is no reason to include Video files for printing.  Nevertheless, the distiller will look for these and return the ICC profile error message if those files are not present.

    Hi halb10567672,
You can download the setup file again from this Link (Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X ) and Burn it to a DVD Disc using Windows Explorer.

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro: How to reinstall after uninstall?

    Hello:
If I uninstall Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0.6, so as install Adobe Reader 9.1.....How would I be able to reinstall
the Adobe Acrobat at some future point?
The Adobe Acrobat  Pro came installed with the PC, and I don't see the installation file for this program?
    Where might it be located?
    Thanks in advance:

If you wish to reinstall Acrobat Pro, you'll need to remove Reader 9.1 first using the Windows Install Clean Up Utiltity. Then reinstall Acrobat Pro.
Adobe recommends that you NOT have both Acrobat Pro and Reader on the same system. These programs share many filenames and resources and and step over each other such that neither product works as it should.

  • I purchased CS6 and had problems with the Adobe Acrobat Pro so i uninstalled and now need to reinstall but serial number wont work. How can i reinstall ONLY Adobe Acrobat Pro since its included in CS6?

I purchased Design Standard CS6 the entire package. I downloaded and installed but I was continually having problems with Adobe Acrobat Pro. I tried updating to the newest version but it only made the problems worse (acrobat was super slow and constantly not responding). So i decided to try to uninstall and then reinstall the program. Well I uninstalled, and then attempted to reinstall ONLY the adobe acrobat pro but it says my serial number (which is for design standard) will not work. Since Acrobat Pro is included in the suite, i thought this wouldnt be a problem. Is there anyway to get around this without uninstalling the entire design standard and reinstalling everything? I only need to reinstall acrobat pro.

You need to reinstall Acrobat the the Creative Suite, you cannot download it is a separate application and install it that way because it will be looking for a serial number relative to being a singly purchased application.

I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro due to Windows 8 malfunction with starting up. I am trying to reinstall as I am an owner of the Creative Suite CS6 and I cannot access my serial number. I purchased the software in 2013 and never registered i, apparently. When directed on Adobe's site to access the serial number, it takes me to an outside 3rd party site, which I tried but it does not actually work. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey beccac85068042,
Adobe will provide you the serial number only if you are a registered user.

    Hey jeroenb16613921,
Please specify exactly when you get this white popup screen. While opening a PDF or launching Acrobat by double-clicking on the Acrobat icon.
If it comes when opening a PDF, then where is this PDF actually stored?
Let me know more on the same so that I can analyze the issue.
