Acrobat Pro X - Combine files to pdf not available in windows explorer

I recently upgraded to Acrobat Pro X. With my previous version I could select a group of files, right click and the pop-up menu would allow me to select to combine the files into a pdf. This feature is no longer available after installing Acrobat Pro X. I am using Windows 7 Professional x64. Did Acrobat fail to install properly or was this feature eliminated?

Presently, a company uses Acrobat Pro to manually combine files such as *.pdf, *.jpg, *.doc, which have been downloaded from SAP's Document Management System, into one pdf file. I have a .AI file of an artboard designed to be a proof sheet and I want to take artwork from another .AI file or possibly a .PSD and put it onto another artboart of the .AI proof sheet file so I can ultimately make a .PDF to send to a client. Would it be easier to just do this all in Acrobat Pro? How would you do it?

Error Message when Combining Files to PDF in Acrobat XI-Pro

Hi!
I am trying to combine multiple CAD files to PDF and keep encountering an error message.
I'm using the Combine Files to PDF, dragging in the corresponding files (.DWG files) into Acrobat and then clicking the Combine button. They convert to PDF but a dialog box immediately pops up:
As I'm the person creating the .pdf document and am using Acrobat XI-Pro to do so, what am I doing wrong to continue to receive this message?

Try creating a combined file as follows :
- Open one of the files .
- Open thumbnail pane of the file via Left hand tools pane .
- Go to options and Insert the second(or subsequent) files to the opened file using "Insert Pages" menu option.
- Save the file.

OK I will try to elaborate this time with pictures so it is clear what I am asking and what the issue I am facing is.
The specific option I want to be able to use from within the Adobe Acrobat Pro user interface is
File\Create\Batch Create Multiple Files
When I select that menu item a floating tool bar thing pops up that I can drag and drop files onto.
If I drag excel or powerpoint documents onto it and press OK it converts them fine. If I drag MS word documents into it the documents appear in the list but when I click OK it says no files processed.
In the process of troubleshooting I also tried using the Add Files button. That is when I discovered that MS word documents (*.doc, *.docx) are not showing up in the list of supported file types.
The same thing happens when I try converting a single file using the File\Create\Create PDF From File menu item. Just like above the MS word documents do not show up in the list of supported file types.
Looking in my registry entries as suggested by the article linked to by one of the posters above I can see both *.doc and *.docx types registered in the correct place.
Unless I can use the batch convert command as intended by the time my trial period runs out in 13 days I cannot justify buying this software. If converting the documents one at a time was acceptable I would just use Save As PDF from within MS Word which works just fine. I need the batch convert function so I can convert my whole library of word documents to PDF at once.
Any further assistance greatly appreciated!

Acrobat X (Standard and Pro) will save tabular data to XLS or XLSX format, provided it can recognize the table as being a table. If the PDF has missing or incorrect structure tags, Acrobat will try to guess the table layout by the position of text and lines on the page - this works well for basic formatting but if the table has complex styling, spanned cells etc. it can lead to problems.
Acrobat X will even attempt to export a table within a scanned document, by applying OCR during the export stage - though again this relies on the table being visually identified.

Unfortunately there isn't a way to control this during the extraction process. If you open the portfolio in the Combine Files dialog though, at least you'll be able to visually rearrange the files.

Are you able to select up to 10 files at one time through the "select files" browser window? The instructions at https://www.acrobat.com/createpdf/en/merge-combine-pdf-files-online.html seem to indicate that you are able to select up to 10 items and then convert and combine.

At this point I am only able to select files 1 at a time, which means steps 3 and 4 repeat up to 10 times if you are combining the maximum 10 files at once. I have tried using shift select and ctrl select to no avail.

I think I found my answer at a different set of instuctions at http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-createpdf.html. This set of instructions clearly indicates that files will be selected 1 at a time.
Click Combine Files To PDF.
Click Select Files.
Select one of the files that you want to combine.
Click Open.
Click Add Files and select additional files to combine. Click Open."
If anyone has any ideas on how to more quickly combine files, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which signature style are you talking about?
You can go ahead and try uninstalling and reinstalling it and see if that works for you .

If your using File>Place then photoshop cs2 creates what's known as Smart Objects, which photoshop 7 didn't have.
In photoshop cs2 you can rasterize the smart objects and that should make the Cut function available.
Select both placed layers, right click on the area to the right of the tumbnail and select Rasterize Layers.
If in photoshop cs2 you to Help>Photoshop Help and look under Layers>Smart Objects, that should give you a good overview of what smart objects are.

PDF title display in Windows Explorer

In Windows 7 you can no longer display the title of PDF files using Windows Explorer's details. You can insert the title field in the display but the contents are blank for all PDF files.
In a business environment, we use large numbers of PDF files and displaying the titles in details view in Windows Explorer is critical. Apparently this functionality was "lost" after Windows went away from XP. (I don't know if it worked in Vista).
Note; while the Title property is the most important one that I personally need displayed, I believe this problem extends to other metadata associated with the PDF files. So the right way to solve it would be make all of the metadata accessible to Windows Explorer.

Provide a tool to replace windows explorer which will display the PDF metadata as well as the metadata for all other file types as well.

I've also been wrestling with the lack of displayed Title information for PDF files and just recently stumbled on the oddity that Windows Explorer will display data in the PDF metadata "title" field if one runs a Windows Explorer "search" based on "*.pdf". Yes it will do the same based on a "pdf" only search but the screen return is messy. Exactly why the Title data displays in a search but not otherwise escapes me for now. This is true for Windows 7 32 and 64 bit systems.
I'll also note that a Windows Explorer "search" for key words that might be in a PDF file's metadata will return PDF files with those key words and display the Title data if the Title field is set to display in Windows Explorer.
