Hi All,
Was this every resolved and if so how was it done?
I am having the exact same problem. I know it is a problem within the user account. I have removed all preference files, application support files, removed and added printers. There are no plugins. Other user accounts can print from Adobe Reader fine. I have already migrated my user data only to another user account. Issue was resolved for a month or two but came back again. I know creating a new user account ultimately does not resolve this issue. Please help?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am having problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.  Printing other PDF created by MS Word works well.  Had a similar problem in an earlier version of Pro.  The fix I figure out then was to print the PDF file as another PDF.  Using the second PDF to print to a plotter typically worked.  It does not work for Adoabe Acrobat Pro XI.

  • When I print in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, it prints reversed..

Only recently when I try to print in Acrobat Pro 9, it prints backwards/reversed.. like a mirror.  It shows correct on the page, but when it's printed it's reversed.  I must have changed a setting by accident but can't find the issue.  Possibly in Adobe Illustrator when I tried to change the direction of an image.  It only prints like this in Acrobat.. no other application.

    Hi hollym23446293,
What are you printing to? Have you checked for a "Flip Horizontally" option (or similar) option in the Print dialog box? Its location will vary by printer, but it's often in the Layout settings.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro failed to print pdf file

I downloaded adobe acrobat pro and started the 30 trial version just a few minutes ago.
I could open files through adobe acrobat and convert word files to pdf, but when i tried converting a publisher file it could not go through. An error popped up which read "Adobe PDF printer failed to print pdf file".
The publisher file I am hoping to convert to pdf is a 21 page panorama article. It contains lots of images and a variety of font types.
I do not know other alternatives for solving this issue.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Erik

It seems to be that Adobe Acrobat virtual printer is not properly installed on your PC or you are not selecting Adobe PDF printer to print PDF document. Checkout the below screen shot to see proper printer.
After trying this if you have same problem you may trt some other virtual printer that easily convert or print any file as PDF, you may checkout here.

  • Why does my Acrobat Pro 9 PDF print driver either lock up or become confused as to where it should store a file when printing a document from within the Firefox browser?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 for creating .pdf files on a Windows XP SP3 platform. Firefox 6.0.2 is my browser of choice. This question only applies to the .pdf printing process. All other printer drivers work fine with this version of Firefox.
In attempt to save paper, I choose to print most documents in an electronic .pdf format using the PDF print driver and save them to my USB drive. Before upgrading my Firefox version to 6.0.2 this process seemed to work fine but after upgrading the .pdf print process seems to be experiencing problems. This particular printing process will cause Firefox to lock up when the distiller tries to print the file to what I believe is a temporary folder under the Adobe folder. When it does this I am sometimes able to force it to complete the process but frequently it will only produce a log not a .pdf file. On other occasions the distiller will just lock up mid print without producing any kind of error message. In both cases I will frequently have to use Windows Task Manager to break out of the process which then shuts down the Firefox browser. I don't seem to have any problems when I use Internet Explorer to perform the same function. As far as I am aware I am running the most current drivers as Adobe automatically pushes down updates to me as they become available. Any ideas how I can overcome this issue or is it inherent to the new version of Firefox?

The PDF file itself does not control the "print as image" preference, which should always be turned OFF unless there's a specific need to rasterize the entire page, and is turned off by default in all Acrobat and Adobe Reader installations.
What's the filetype for the ultralight font and what export setting* are you using in ID? If you're exporting to earlier than PDF1.7, OpenType fonts will be converted and may experience some small changes in shape if their hint definitions aren't done right.
*As a side note, bear in mind that InDesign does not use any part of Acrobat when exporting PDFs, so questions specific to that stage in the process should be posted to the InDesign forums.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Lion Printer Error

My MacBook Pro came with Lion already installed. I installed a new copy of Acrobat Pro 9 and it worked fine... including printing to both my Canon Pixma and Brother Laser printers. I installed Lion 7.1.2 update and when I tried to print an Acrobat file I received an error message with both printers in the printer dialogue box. Example below. When I click the resume printer arrow there is a momentary shift to where the doc should print but then it goes back to the error state.  I cannot print an Acrobat file from either the File>Print menu or internal Acrobat>Print. Printers work fine with all other applications.
I reinstalled OS X 7.1 and Acrobat again printed without a problem. I had to reinstall 7.1 (don't remember why I did THAT!) and Acrobat stopped pringting again! I have reinstalled Acrobat several times as well as OS X 7.1 but Acrobat will not print. Everything else in Acrobat works. I just upgraded to Acrobat Pro 9.2 but it does not print. I guess I could try OS X 7.2 again. Any suggestions?

Oooops. Screen shot of the printer dialogue box did not print. Sorry abou that!!!

  • Acrobat Pro 9.0 printing to Canon ImageRunner 3220 prints only first page of multi-page documents?

We just got the new CS4 and with the Acrobat Pro 9.0 install, we cannot seem to print multi-page documents.  Only the first page comes through, and the queue clears as though the document's been fully printed.
We are running Windows XP Pro SP3, and the printer is the Canon ImageRunner irC3220.
I do not want to use the "Print as Image" option, as I don't want to rasterize the file before sending it to the printer. It's an important document and it's imperative that it is printed at high quality.
We had no problems printing with Acrobat 8.
I've seen old posts regarding this issue, but couldn't find anything newer that might have had an updated solution.
Thank you in advance!! any help would be sooo appreciated right now!

    Great! Many thanks
Is there actually a kind of marketplace for Javascipts for Adobe Acrobat Pro somewhere? ...

  • Acrobat Pro 8 Not Printing (Prints from other Apps)

    Hello,
I have a user who is having a problem printing from Acrobat Pro v8.1.3. The program is up-to-date as I type this. The problem is that when a print is sent to the printer, the print shows up in the queue, exits the queue, but does not print from the printer. I have verified that I can print a test page from Mac OS X 10.5.8, and also I can print the PDF from the Preview application in Mac OS X. I have tried repairing the installation both unchecking the optional components and re-checking them, and restarting the machine to no avail. Any help on this? I have re-installed the printer drivers as well, and have tried printing via IPP, Bonjour and Appletalk, all with the same result. I am really beginning to think this is a problem with the software and short of a re-install, I don't know how else to fix. I would like to avoid re-installing as this will not tell me what is causing the problem. Thank you for your time and patience reading this.

Yes, there is the pdf printer option when I try to print. The AcroTray starts to run in the background and then just stops. I’m using Windows 7 and CS4 Acrobat Pro 9.0. I tried to update it but it gave me an error message and didn’t update.
Some background – my hard drive crashed and I had to do a reinstall. The Adobe Suite was problematic, but after many, many phone calls I was finally able to get it installed. Everything works fine except the Acrobat.

  • Acrobat Pro V8 problem with rotating PDFs

I have CS3 suite with Acrobat Pro V8.1.2 running on OSX 10.5.4.
I rotate PDFs for our printer (photographic Lightjet430 laser printer using postershop) it saves time, and it also makes things easier for us in general.
Now I sometimes rip the PDFs into photoshop, this is where my problem starts.
If a PDF say 500mm wide X 2000mm high is rotated in Acrobat and re-saved so now 2000w X 500h. If I open this in Photoshop it shows me a preview as 2000wx500h BUT the size is reported as 500w X 2000h. If you then rip this PDF it will rip as 500mm wide X 125mm high (Wrong). The only way around this is to rotate this PDF back to 500w X 2000h then rip again and it will then rip as 500x2000.
Now if I get this PDF and rotate using OSXs Preview, it will work. I open the PDF that I rotated in Preview and photoshop will show and tell me that it is 2000Wx500H and it rips as 2000x500.
I have 7 other Macs with the same setup and they all do the same thing. I got a friend on a PC using XP and Acrobat 8.1.2 and it also did the same thing.
Using another PDF program on his PC made it work.
Now for some reason the Newer version of PosterShop 7.1 (wasn't a problem with Postershop 6.5) is doing strange things with PDFs rotated in Acrobat Pro V8.1.2. A PDF rotated in Acrobat to a Landscape will open as a Portrait. Leave the PDF as a Portrait and it will open as a Portrait. Now rotate the same file using Preview to a Landscape and Postershop will open it as a Landscape.
Its like something in the PDF is not being changed to say its rotated, so both Photoshop and postershop get it wrong. Now the problems in Postershop may not be related, but even Photoshop is seeing this and ripping it wrong.
Is there any thing I could try?
I have got the rest of the team using Preview atm to rotate files for now.
    Thank you.

My biggest issue GKaiseril is that this is something developed at a higher level than my department. You can find the Fillable PDF and Excel conversion spreadsheet at : www.dodprocurementtoolbox.com. I am not apart of the development team, just apart of a property team trying to get our attachment right. This has been an ongoing issue we've tried to resolve for a while now. The solution I posted above makes the file work, but I don't know if its a "solution" or a temp fix. If I can figure out what the actual issue is, I can suggest an actual fix to the machine or process.

  • Acrobat pro 8 pauses printer

    Hello
In the last several days i've encountered a problem printing pdf files using adobe pro 8.
when i send a print choosing the acrobat 8 printer, a printer icon shows up in my dock saying the printer is paused. when i reactivate the printer (there is a button) and resume the paused file, the dialog says "opening distiller" and sends the printer back to the pause status.
    anyone knows what to do?
i tried reinstall and repair but no luck.

Ensure you're running Acrobat 8.1.2 (patch up otherwise) and you might
also want to update to the latest OSX version ....

  • Can I re-scale scanned documents in Acrobat Pro (can't print drawings to correct scale)

I have several scanned drawings of my house (originals is pre-CAD) that when printed instead of e.g. 1:400 is 1:330 and 1:100 is 1:130 and similar. This "odd" scale is ok for me personally but not the people at the building inspection department that need to approve the small updates I've done.
So it would be good to be able to say in a document that this distance should be Xmm when printed.
The method I'm using now is to use custom scale when printing e.g. choose 87% instead of 100% but this method is very paper and time consuming for several drawings with slightly different scale problems. And I would like to correct this in these pdf-drawings so I don't have to bother with this in the future.
Is there a way to handle this?
Edit: Using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

  • Acrobat Pro 9 problems - please help

    Hello there from Victoria, Canada
We are a small group of teachers that produce monthly current events teaching units for Canadian schools.
Some of our our customers receive the newsletter by mail, and the rest download pdf files from our website. The pdf files are password protected and we notify our subscribers by email what the password is.
We have never had never experienced any major issues, until now. We recently upgraded to Acrobat Pro version 9 (from 8) and many, many subscribers have been contacting us claiming that they cant open the password protected files even though they are using Adobe Reader 9. When I create the pdf file, the settting I use is open with Reader 5 and above.
Many of our customers are very frustrated and so are we. Can anyone please help ???? Is anyone else experiencing problems and what can we do to solve this?
Thanks in advance for your time.
    Eric W.

    Hi Eric,
The file will never open in Mac Preview because Preview doesn't know how to decrypt it. The reason Preview thinks that the file is corrupt because it is encountering the encrypted data which appears to Preview to be junk. Only an application that has PDF decryption capabilities (e.g. Adobe Reader or Acrobat) will be able to open the file.
As an aside, the file is in Acrobat 7.0 and later format (i.e. it uses the PDF-1.6 file structure) and although the encryption algorithm is one that Acrobat 5 understands (128-bit RC4) there are other elements in the file that cannot be displayed in Acrobat 6.x and earlier. Although Michael noted above that he was able to open the file in versions 5 and 6, the display would have been degraded.
Assuming that the persons having trouble opening the file are not using Preview, but are indeed using Reader 9.0, are there any alert dialogs that come up when they try to open the file? And as Phil asked above, what system (OS and language) are they on?
Also, because the Open Password edit box doesn't display until the entire file has been downloaded, it is possible that on slower systems that it appears that the file won't open.
    Thanks,
