Ich möchte 170.000 HTML-Files als PDF speichern/drucken. Habe mir dazu über den Aktionsassistent eine Aktion "HTML als PDF speichern" angelegt.
Nach einem Start der Aktion wird diese ausgeführt, nur das Programmfenster schaltet sich bei jedem Dokument in den Vordergrund. Liegt vielleicht daran, dass jedes HTML-File bei der Speicherung als PDF im Programmfenster in der Vorschau angezeigt wird. Das brauch ich gar nicht, hab aber nichts gefunden, wo diese Vorschau deaktiviert werden könnte. Der Job soll einfach laufen ohne Vorschau. Ich schätze Mal, das ist der Grund, warum das Programmfenster ständig in den Vordergund geschaltet wird. Ich kann dadurch mit keiner anderen Anwendung arbeitet, der Rechner ist blockiert.
Und es gibt noch ein Problem - bei "Speichern" kann nicht eingestellt werden, dass vorhandene Dateien nicht überschrieben werden sollen.
Also, bei meinen 170.000 Files fängt der Job immer von vorne an und alle Files werden neu als PDF gespeichert. Kommt noch dazu, dass nach ca. 3 bis 5 Files eine Pause von ca. 10 Sekunden gemacht wird, warum auch immer - der Job läuft also tagelang!
Kann mir wer bitte helfen?

Das habe ich gemacht (siehe Screenshot weiter oben) - bei den Ausgabeoptionen habe ich die Option "Name der Originaldatei beibehalten" gewählt, damit werden alle PDFs in den selben Ordnern wie die Originaldateien gespeichert, das passt also.
Allerdings gibt es hier nicht, wie z.B. bei Datei / Erstellen / Stapelerstellung von mehreren Dateien ...
... die Checkbox "Vorhandene Dateien überschreiben" - die ich dann natürlich deaktivieren könnte, damit die schon bearbeiteten Dateien ausgeschlossen werden.
Ich ersuche um weitere Vorschäge!

Acrobat Pro XI - Crashes when Acrobat Preferences is Opened

Brief History:
I am in the UK and run Mac OS X 10.8.2. Other Adobe products are CS3 Master Suite and Acrobat Pro 8. All installed on the Start Up Drive.
Downloaded and installed the Trial version of Acrobat Pro XI, intent on UpGrading on the basis of a functional copy of Acrobat Pro 8 running on the Mac and duly registered in my Adobe Account.
Happy with the Trial version the UpGrade Licence was purchased and the Serial Number was used in an attempt to convert the software to a Licenced version. However a message, something similar to that shown, declared:
The Serial Number entered is valid. Acrobat cannot find a qualifying product.
Whilst seeking help on the Adobe web site a ‘Chat’ system message popped up and subsequently a very helpful CS Agent ‘talked’ me through the problem. With the aid of Challenge Codes Acrobat Pro XI was made to accept the input of the Serial Number.
It seemed to be the end of the problem, gone was the nag screen and everything seemed to be working well, leaving me to get on and enjoy using XI?
For a few days everything seemed OK, then I tried to view a PDF from a web site and a message appeared:

There is a problem with the Adobe Acrobat/Reader.
If it is running, please exit and try again. (4.9)
This subsequently appeared at every attempt to view any PDF from the web.
Downloading PDFs from web Links to the Mac and then opening them works without any problems.
Remedial Actions:
I have trashed the Acrobat Pro XI Preferences File (.plist), used Disk Utility to Repair Permissions and rebuilt the Launch Services Database amongst other things. None of these actions have made any improvement to the situation reported.
The prospect of uninstalling Acrobat Pro XI was considered but due to the problems converting to the Licenced version I decided that being able to partially use Acrobat was better than having nothing at all.
I moved on to see if anything could be done in Acrobat Preferences.
Acrobat Pro XI Crashes:
Opening Acrobat Pro XI, either with or without a PDF displayed, Acrobat opens and a few seconds after the Acrobat > Preferences Link is hit Acrobat Pro XI crashes. This happens for as many times as you care to try.
A substantial Report is generated and is sent to Apple but not Adobe.
Acrobat does not crash until Preferences is accessed.
I am asking for help here because having had two more ‘Chats’ on the Adobe Help web site, the first Agent deferred my request ‘until the arrival of the Acrobat Experts‘. After waiting 4 hours as requested, the second Agent ignored all the information tendered asking only a few questions before informing me that ‘This Case will have to be answered by Telephone’.
The fact that I always clearly inform that using the Telephone is difficult for me due to hearing problems was apparently of no consequence to this individual.
I Telephoned and waited for an hour before hearing a human voice, thankfully the line was quite good.
Unfortunately I was committed to other tasks and needed to break off from the conversation before any real progess was made.
The CS Agent arranged for me to receive a Call Back. The time for the Call Back came and passed along with a few more hours. Whilst I was making ‘another’ cup of coffee the phone rang for about 5 ‘rings’ and cut off. Naturally it was a withheld number, this may have been the expected call?
The Case that had been opened for this problem was upgraded with a copy of the Crash Report. On the next visit to my Account Case History all of my Cases were found to be marked as ‘Withdrawn‘ or ‘Not Appropriate’. IMO Adobe taking such retrospect action is not appropriate.
I will start the ‘on-line help’ journey again tomorrow but will not be holding my breath awaiting a successful outcome and feel that it may be better to ask some questions in this Forum:
1. Am I entitled to 90 Days, or any other period, of Free Support from Adobe?
2. What is the best way to proceed toward getting a resolution to these problems?
3. Can anyone offer a direct solution to the Acrobat Pro XI Crashing problem?

I removed a plugin :

I have been researching this issue for days and can't find a solution. I am using Acrobat not Reader, there is not an option to uncheck the "enable protected mode" in Arcobat. The only error Adobe says I can have printing is different from the one I'm getting. Can anyone answer this?Hi Josh ,

USB Device: IR Receiver, 0x05ac (Apple Inc.), 0x8242, 0x5d100000As you discovered, Adobe Acrobat/Pro/Reader v.9 will crash for all managed user accounts that store their home folders on the server because it has "difficulty" reading and writing to a folder across a network, which is why it crashes shortly after it launches.
HOWEVER, there is hope. All you need to do is tell Adobe to write all of its files to the local drive rather than the home folder on the sharepoint, as follows:
While logged into your network-user account:
1. Go to the "Shared" folder on the local drive. (Local HD > Users > Shared)
2. Create a new folder named "9.0_x86" if you have an Intel or "9.0_ppc" if you have a PPC (without the quotes for either case). You will have to authenticate as an Administrator.
3. Go to the Acrobat folder within the user's Application Support and delete the folder in it.
(Home > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Acrobat > 9.0_x86 or 9.0_ppc)
4. Open/launch the Terminal application found within the Utilities folder on you Mac.
(Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app)
5. In Terminal, enter the 1st command for Intel or the 2nd for PPC:
ln -s /Users/Shared/9.0_x86 ~/Library/Application \Support/Adobe/Acrobat/9.0_x86
OR
ln -s /Users/Shared/9.0_ppc ~/Library/Application \Support/Adobe/Acrobat/9.0_ppc
Adobe Acrobat 9 should now work properly. You may get the "quit unexpectedly" error message the first time you quit the application, but should only happen the one time.
On a side note, the print spool is slow when printing very large multi-paged PDFs.
This is a fix I found in 2009 by Dennis, can't remember where though.

Acrobat Pro on Mac OS X 10.6.2 doesn't recognize scanner
I recently installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2.0 on my MacBook running OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). I can't scan from within Acrobat because it doesn't recognize my HP OfficeJet 4315 scanner. I can scan from the Apple Image Capture software just fine. I can edit documents just fine in Acrobat; I just can't scan from within Acrobat.
When I select "Create > PDF from Scanner" I get the following dialog box and no device is in the "Scanner:" dropdown list.

Sorry won't work unless you machine is listed, or type similar to yours is listed. in one of the components is installed in the system preferences go through that list and turn off all items except for your brand of scanner. And try again.
Also restart computer, and unplug and plug back in your scanners usb connection.
If that doesn't work. Then you have to go to Silverfast and see if they have a package for your Scanner. If so. You will have to pay for it. But is well worth it.
I never have understood which despite having Scanner in Acrobat praticaly since day one. They have never been good about scanner support in Mac anyway. -
Acrobat Pro 9.5.1. update problem

Help.After you remove acrobat, Try booting your mahcine in Safe Boot mode first and then enable the root user and try to install Acrobat 9 followed by its updates.

Do I need Adobe Reader if I just downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?
Hi! I just downloaded Acrobat Pro 9.0 and when I try to open a .pdf file in a website, I get the following message, "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again." When I click "okay", I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page.
I do have Adobe Reader version 8.1.2 installed on my machine. Does Acrobat Pro have a built-in reader and should I just un-install it?

When I click FIND, my only ADOBE option is Adobe Reader. It doesn't offer Adobe Acrobat. Why didn't it just open automatically?

Headings to Bookmarks - w Word 2010 and Acrobat Pro 9
So Adobe decided to rip us off by denying a fix for the Acrobat Pro Ribbon in MS Office 2010 We refuse to take part on their money making scheme and spend loads to upgrade to Acrobat X just for that (sorry Adobe, try not cheating your customers next time). So we are now unable to use the advanced conversion options once found within MS Office. Grrr again!
We are working with CS5 with Acrobat 9, all properly updated. With that:
- is there any hidden setting or trick that would allow converting Word headings into bookmarks automatically when converting Word documents? It doesn't matter where I start (from Word or from Acrobat) as long as the result is the same
- is there any third-party add-in/plug in that enables the functions we lost with the missing ribbon? Such as options to convert those headings to bookmarks, endnote/footnote links to link in the PDF and so on?

1. Add the bookmarks in the PDF by hand.
2. Go back to OFFICE 2007.
3. Upgrade to AA X.
Keep in mind that OFFICE 2010 came out after AA 9 that is 2 years old, the basic revision cycle for Acrobat. MS added some major changes that required Adobe to do a major rewrite on AA X to get PDF Maker to work. Call it a money making scheme if you like. One could also look at MS actions that cause problems for other products that work with OFFICE. In fact, one almost suspects that MS puts hooks in their software to mess up competing technology. This has never been proven and may be false, but it is an alternate scenario. In any case, the three choices mentioned are your only alternatives. My understanding is that Adobe has no plans to update AA9 to resolve this problem with OFFICE 2010. This has been a know problem since the release of OFFICE 2010 and it took Adobe some time to even fix AA X to meet the need.
If you are not willing to buy AA X, your best solution is to move your systems back to OFFICE 2007. -
Acrobat Pro X serial not working with Acrobat Pro XI
I have a serial for Acrobat Pro X which I've been using for quite some time. After formatting my PC, I'm now trying to install Acrobat Pro on my new system but it seems that my serial "is not valid for Acrobat Pro XI".
I'd be happy if I could install Pro X, but it's nowhere to be found on the internet.
Let me get this straight: I can't reinstall a program I ALREADY BOUGHT when I remove it from my system. Nice.

Acrobat Pro and Reader fighting for Safari frameworks folder...
We manage hundreds of Macs of which most are at 10.4.8.
We have both Acrobat Pro and Reader 7.0.8 installed on all Macs.
Sometime within the last few weeks something has changed on our systems (eg: upgrading from something under 10.4.8 to 10.4.8) that is causing Acrobat Pro and Reader to fight for the Safari.app/Contents/Frameworks/ folder. This folder contains aliases to either Pro or Reader frameworks within that Acrobat app's own frameworks folder (...Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/Frameworks/)
This issue is that the end user is prompted to authenticate for either Reader or Pro to "repair itself" which it is just changing the aliases within the Safari Frameworks folder to point to their own frameworks.
If I set Preview as the default pdf viewer and then delete Acrobat Reader so that only Preview and Acrobat Pro are on the client, then it seems to work beautifully without authentication request. We would like to keep Reader on the systems though. We use Sassafras' Keyserver with a limited number of licenses for Acrobat Pro.
Has anyone else experienced this? Found a solution, etc?

I work for a very small graphic design company and use an older emac
that has pretty much reached its shelf life for many apps and OS.
Could my aging computer be contributing to the problem?
Because we depend heavily on pdf workflow, I chose to reinstall
WITHOUT running the uninstaller first, as the 9.4.4 version was at
least still functioning. I was somewhat surprised that it worked, and
I am NOT looking forward to the next updater. -
Acrobat Pro XI and ScanSnap iX500
I use a ScanSnap iX500 on Mac running OS !0.10.2. The ScanSnap uses an ABBYY built-in ocr engine and it generates an excellent ocr layer. I can see the OCR layer in other apps and I know it is excellent. And other apps that handle pdfs (PDFpenPro and Skim) can word search the layer perfectly. Recently, however, Acrobat Pro XI cannot word search files scanned and ocr'd by the ScanSnap, even though the layer is complete and excellent. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix this? I have re-installed Acrobat Pro XI and the ScanSnap software (including the ABBYY part) from scratch, and all software is fully updated. This is occurring on two Macs; it is not confined to one machine.
I'm having the exact same problem with both my Macbook Pro and my iMac 5k Retina. I was ready to return my ScanSnap iX500 thinking the OCR was broken but it's Acrobat that has the problem. My ScanSnap iX500 scans the document and I have the OCR setup correctly but both Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and the Adobe Reader barely pick up any of the OCR text in the document. Pure text documents seem to be OCR readable with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI but keyword searching bills or bank statements or anything that the text is broken up into sections seems to be useless as most of the words don't show and are not searchable.
I can see the that the documents are properly OCR searchable as Mac Yosemite will index all the keywords so I can find the document in finder but acrobat can't search them. I can also keyword search properly the documents using Macs built in Preview app.
I've also tried OCR indexing the documents using the ScanSnap iX500's built in hardware, ABBYY Finereader express, Scansnap receipt, Searchable PDF converter but Acrobat won't properly keyword search any of them.
The only solution I've found is to scan the documents with or without OCR then open Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and rescan the OCR again. You can do this on one document or a Batch of documents so you could fix all your PDF's overnight. After that then Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and Adobe Reader can OCR search the documents properly.
Here's the solution I'm using until Adobe fixes Acrobat on the Mac. Just have Acrobat rescan the OCR and save the file to fix is. Instructions below:
