Acrobat Professional 7.0 - can't print comments

Hi
We have various PDF documents which colleagues mark up, in Acrobat Professional 7.0, using the 'note tool' or by highlighting text and using 'add note to text'.
We can normally print the comments with no problems - by using the 'print with comments summary' option.
On some PDFs when we print the comments, the page is blank with just connector lines to the original text (but the original text isn't shown, the page is just blank with a highlight where the text should be).  But this doesn't happen on every page and not all the time!
The only pattern is that some of these PDFs have been created by combining PDFs together.
Anyone any ideas what's going wrong?
(we can't update to higher/later version of Acrobat).
Thanks.

Sorry, just realised subject wasn't very clear so have changed.

  • Can't print comments Acrobat 9

    Hi all.
I've just had Acrobat re-installed on my PC, and now I can't print comments.
I've got a commented PDF. Nornmally I would use ctrl+t to summarise comments, choose my printing preferences, but then when I click on "Print Comments Summary", the summarize pop-up disappears and nothing happens. Usually it would go to the Print menu.
The same thing happens if I try and do it through the Print menu (Print > Summarize comments).
I'm running Acrobat 9 on an XP machine.
I've tried updates and all the options offered here http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/printing-problems-acrobat-9-4.html but nothing seems to be helping.
    Thanks if anyone can help.

I'm having the identical problem and the only way I can get it to work is by not trying to change the title suggested by Acrobat for the PDF.
If I try printing from Firefox and pasting in a new PDF title, it crashes Firefox.

  • How can I print comments in Numbers? I think was announced in the new features...

How can I print comments in Numbers in the desktopt version? I think was announced in the new features but I can't see it.

  • Can you print comments in Adobe Reader 8?

I have a PDF document that has several comments ("sticky notes") added to it. I need to be able to print the document with the comments. However, I can't seem to find a way to do this. I've been searching online, but still can't find a solution.
I have gone into print settings and selected 'Document and Markups', but still the comments don't print. Another site said to go to Edit > Preferences > Commenting > Print Notes and Popups , but I don't have a "Commenting" option.
I don't understand why I would be able to add comments, but not be able to print them. I've checked the security on the document, and it's set as "Commenting Allowed". So I'm all out of ideas. Do I have to have Adobe Professional in order to print comments?

Hi, I found this on Adobe's site. Give it a try.
    Cheers,
    Jenny
    Windows:
In order to print comments from Adobe Reader 6, 7, or 8 you need to change a registry key. Please note that you edit the registry at your own risk.
Open the registry editor and browse to the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ADOBE\Acrobat Reader\6.0(or7.0, or 8.0)\Annots\cPrefs
Double click the 'bprintCommentPopups' key and change the value to 1
For Adobe Reader 8 you will need to add the key manually.
    Add the following Reg key:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\Annots\cPrefs]
    "bprintCommentPopups"=dword:00000001

  • Clip Notes - can't print comments

I'm creating Clip Notes from Premiere Pro CS4 so I can create time-stamped notes on my videos. Clip Notes is working fine in general, but when I try to print the comments, that feature is blocked in the PDF file. On the top right of the commenting panel (under the embedded video) there's an option to Print Comments, but it's grayed out. And on the Options menu accessed at the top left of the Comments panel, Export to Word (and all the other export options) gives me the message that the "PDF is not tagged." There are instructions about how to change that, but they don't work on these Clip Notes pdfs.
Is there a setting in Premiere or After Effects that will let me change the accessibility status, tag the PDF, and print the comments? Or is printing the comments simply disabled because of the multimedia features of Clip Notes? Acrobat help says that it's best to set up accessibility in the authoring program, which I guess is Premiere in this case. But I can't find any other settings or options for the Clip Notes other than the few that come up in Adobe Media Encoder (embed or stream video; gaussian blur; bitrate).
I'm looking for any workaround to gather all of my comments (either from clip notes comments, or from markers) into a list that I can print and use as an index of my videos. There must be a way to avoid typing all the timecodes manually for each note in order to make such a list??
I'll be grateful for any suggestions!

  • How can I print comments in the right margin with Ver X?

First time with this discussion area.  I'm attempting to print messages in the right margin of the page on which they appear.  This was possible in Ver IX.

I checked my copy of Acrobat 9, and the only way I could find to print comments on the right side of the page was one of the four versions of comment summary.
You can do the same thing in Acrobat X. On the Comments panel, select the Options menu (circled) and choose Create Comment Summary.
Then select the 2nd option in the Create Comment Summary dialog:

I have exactly the same problem since I changed my Mac for an Intel one (10.6.2 instead of Power PC 10.4).
My printer is a Canon MP610 but this has nothing to do with the printer and it's software. Adobe seems to be completely deaf to this issue which is very annoying as most of the downloaded documents you need to print are pdf nowadays.
I surrounded the issue by copying/pasting the pdf image in a jpeg file... This is very time consuming and I'm still waiting for a proper answer to this bug by Adobe.
Let's continue to write, hoping Adobe will begin to move on the subject...

  • I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro, but now can't print any .pdf.

Have Window 8. I downloaded Acrobat Pro from Kivuto, deleted it at suggestion of Adobe help chat, and downloaded it again last night. I have tried multiple .pdf documents on both printers. My wife logged into her work computer through Citrix and used Acrobat Pro from the high school where she works, and still can't print. Any ideas?

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended: Can one enable commenting by default?

    For Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
When using Save As to save a PDF, is it possible to have
Commenting and Analysis enabled for that saved PDF by
    default?
What I currently must do: Open the PDF, choose
    Comments >
Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader, at which
point Acrobat 9 Pro Extended prompts me to save the file.
What I would like to do: Have
Save As automatically enable commenting & analysis by
    default.
I can't find any controls for that, so suspect it's a manual
    process each time...(?)

  • Acrobat Professional 7.0 hanging when printing from IE8 (Vista)

Hello.  I've done my best to troubleshoot on my own but am encontering problems when trying to print a document from within Internet Explorer 8 on a PC running 32-bit Vista.
Mind you I can print as I always have from any other browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera) without problem, but whenever I attempt to print any item to PDF using the installed Adobe PDF printer driver, the document simply sits in the printer spool queue with an "Error - Printing" status.  I have no problems whatsoever printing to PDF from any other application (Word, Excel, etc.)
I've done my best to verify any settings within IE, Vista, and AP7 that seem like they could have interfered but wasn't able to find any.  I wouldn't be surprised it it's the result of IE's layer-upon-layer of bloated and settings, but I have absolutely no idea where to begin.
I'd appreciate any useful guidance from others who may have experienced this, or a similar, phenomenon.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at Adobe's Knowledge Base to see what versions of Acrobat can fully work in the Vista OS?

  • Downloaded latest Acrobat update - now she can't print PDF files.

    Here we go...
My lovely wife has a mini running 10.5.8.  She just downloaded the most recent Acrobat update, and now when she tries to print a PDF nothing happens.  Nothing.  No error message or other annunciations.  My mini (running 10.5.8) uses Preview as the default PDF viewer, and I've never had an issue.
I'm stymied.  Can we uninstall the Adobe software and use Preview for her PDF needs?  Or can we set Preview as her default PDF viewer?  I tried to find a way to do the latter, but found no joy.
We'd be grateful for any help you all could offer.
    Cheers!
    Robert.

I'd have to agree with Baltwo - IMHO there is no better software for pdfs than Preview - it's light, feature-rich and beautifully integrated with the system.
I only ever saw something similar to your case at a printer a few years ago and it was caused by a dodgy font. It might be an idea to validate your fonts with Font Book, delete any bad fonts and see if that helps.

  • 64-bit version of Acrobat Professional X

Can not seem to find a 64-bit version of Acrobat Professional X? Can someone please provide me with a link if there is one?

Acrobat X Pro works fine (the 32-bit version). I was looking for a 64-bit version so when I use IE 9 (64-bit version) I can access the BHO (Browser Helper Object). The BHO only shows up when I use the 32-bit version of IE9. The only other option I can think of is to update the registry to show the BHO with IE9 (64-bit) as well, but I'm not sure if that is possible or how I would accomplish that.  If Acrobat XI has a 64-bit version available, I'll just make the upgrade.

  • Using an adobe acrobat professional lic for a standard version.

I have a question in regards to EULA. I have 10 machines and 5 acrobat std lic and 5 acrobat professional lic. Can i use the professional lic and install standard on those machine only. for example can i install acrobat standard on all ten machine even though i have 5 lic for standard and 5 for professional. I know professional and standard have different .exe files. but can a professional lic be used as a standard lic. meaning can i downgrade

I don't have an answer to this particular case, and I am not a lawyer,
but in general the answer would be no: rights to downgrade would have
to be explicit, as no rights not granted by the EULA apply (unless
    additionally granted by law).
However, Adobe Customer Service might be willing and may be able to
    grant permission.

  • Can't Print a PDF (either in Preview nor Acrobat Professional)

I can print word docs, emails and other things, but not a pdf file. This is really strange and just started to happen recently. I have a (2) HP Printers, a Color Laser and an All-In-One and each stops the printing queue. I've looked over a bunch of posts, but no luck on finding a solution. I have tried both Bonjour as well as direct IP to the printer.

    hallo to everybody.
I would like to add my problems into the chain of questions.
since update to 10.4.11 (and maybe the installation of vmware fusion ??)
i cannot print simple text-pdfs on my new hp laserjet p2015n anymore. the prints are either empty or off-center. i have tried everything from reinstallation of the drivers, changing the usb port, advice from the hp website, caalling hp who told me the printer was allright, printing from acrobat professional, acrobat reader, preview, converting to a pdfx-3 document and even printing as a bitmap without any result.
who can help me? thank you very much!!
