ACROBAT READER 7.09-PDF'S NOT OPENING FROM ONLINE PDF LINKS

Trying to open up pdf's from an online link and they will not open up, not even in preview. Anyway i can setup acrobat to be the default handler of online pdf's.

Basically what is happening is that no download box pops up when i click the link on his mac, meaning, it doesn't look like it is even downloading it. My mac downloads and opens it right up on my machine in adobe. I thought maybe it was a browser issue, im running safari 1.3.2, he is running 1.2.3 and i tried upgrading him to 1.3.1 and it said it couldn't install the software, I then tried installing 1.3.2 and it said it couldn't install without 1.3.1. How the **** do you upgrade safari?

  • R12.1.3 - Reports 10g PDF Output not opening from SRS window

    Gurus,
Your help will be highly appreciable for the below context.
While trying to open a report output, following error occurs and won't show the PDF format correctly.
"There was an error processing a page. There was a problem reading this document(135)".
Object Type : Reports 10g with graph
Conc Program Output Type : PDF
Note: Currently issue happening only in DEV instance not in UAT/Prod instance.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
When you click View Output, press the Control key and see if you get an open/save dialog. If one is displayed, save the document and try opening it directly from the PDF reader.
If this does not resolve the issue, post a screenshot of the error.

  • Terminal Services pdf files not opening from websites

Since installing the latest version 11.0.0.1, users who are inside Terminal Services cannot open up any pdf files from any websites.  Opening up pdf attachments from emails etc is not an issue.  But when accessing a pdf file online, it will not display.  Outside of Terminal Services, the desktop can display the same pdf file just fine.  But our users are mainly inside Terminal Services and I need to find a solution to this issue.  Thanks.

Please let us know the following details:
    1. The browser being used to view the PDFs.
    2. Are the PDFs being hosted on a local server or on a public site. Can you try and see if the following PDF is rendered successfully at your end:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/kb/en/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_Releas eNote_10.1.2.pdf
    3. Are you on a Citrix server. If so, could you let us know the exact version of the Xenapp server being used.

  • Acrobat Reader 10.1.3 does not open Finder in Mac 10.7 to select a location to "Save As".

Previous version of AR on a Mac would open the Finder window when "Save As" was selected.  Now, only a list of the most recently opened folders and the Desktop are presented as candidate locations to file the .pdf.   A bit of a pain to save to Desktop and then save again in the desired folder.  Have removed the two AR files from the Library and re-downloade AR 10.1.3 again with the same results.
    Thanks.

    Hi..
    Try removing a plugin...
    Quit Safari.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin (or just PDF Browser plugin) from the Internet Plug-Ins folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari to test.

  • Tricky - PDF file not Opening from Web Browser based application

    Hi Guys,
Just a brief history about the issue:
At my client site everything was fine when IE7 was there and everybody were able to open PDF files from web applications in browsers. But after a IE8 upgrade, things changed and customers are facing problems. All are Windows XP SP3 machines
Issue: If they try to open a pdf file from the browser it just stucks at 0% and hangs with "Cancel" button. Even if they try to save that file it tell downloading and hangs again in the screen without downloading the file.
    Initial fix:
    Open Adobe Reader
    -> select the menu "Edit"
    -> select "Preferences"
    -> select the Category "Internet"
-> set the indicator "Display PDF in browser"
    -> Reboot the machine
This fix worrked for some people but many user are still experiencing the same thing even after changing the setting many times.
Friends, Is there anything else might be creating the trouble here. Please let me know, and why it is that for some systems it is working and for it is not ?
    Thanks,

There was a browser bug with IE in the past that seemed to span several browser versions.  It had to do with the interaction of the browser and the webserver.  The short version is that I had to toggle the caching option on the folder.
Here's what I ended up doing for my client:
Move their PDF documents into a subfolder called forms and all Flash animations into a subfolder called flash
Marked all folders in the site to "Expire Immediately" (IIS -> highlight root folder -> Properties)
Individually marked the "/forms" and "/flash" folders to toggle this caching option
In this way, it allowed dynamic pages to deliver non-cached content (from the server's perspective) and it allowed binary downloads like Flash animations and PDF files to work as expected without errors.  The bug has to do with the cache-negotiation handshaking that goes on between the browser and server.
This may not be what you're seeing but it's good to remember because I've seen it often:  the settings that you'd use to optimize a web applications don't seem to work for binary downloads like a PDF document.

  • Since updating to Version 5 EU1.1, Firefox does not open from Outlook email links despite having all program defaults - how can I fix this, please?

Clicking on a weblink in an Outlook email fails to open the website in Firefox even when the browser is already open. Firefox is set as default browser. There was no problem with this before the latest Firefox update a few days ago.
I have tried changing program defaults to Internet Explorer (email links worked) and then back again to Firefox, but email links still don't work.

You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/about%3Aplugins
You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.

  • The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.OK. I followed the instruction and the problem still persists.

I got the following pop-up when I tried to open an online PDF file:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.
Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.
I tried many time, and it really doesn't work.
The plug-in I have is Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280

After I upgraded to Firefox 5, I had the same problem and I did a work around temporarily. I went the tools menu, then Add-ons, then clicked the "Plugins" on the left side (4th one down). I "disabled" both Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.0.536 using the disable buttons on the right side. PDF files now open again. However they are outside the actual browser.
My guess is that Adobe didn't catch up yet with a new update to work with Firefox or vice versa.
    Hope that helps!

  • Why do some pdf files not open with Adobe Reader X, most open OK?

On my wife's 64 bit WIN 7 computer, a some pdf files will not open, but most open OK.
She uses Acrobat Reader X and MS Office 2010.
The same problem files open with no problem on my very similar computer.
Is the problem with some setting on the Acrobat Reader or something else?
Sometimes there is this error message when the problem files do not open:
Find Click2run64.msi file to install MS Office Click to Run.
But MS Office Click to Run is already installed on her PC.  It is not on my PC.
    Thanks for your help.

The latest Reader is 11.0.01, not 11.0.1.  It is named Adobe Reader XI.
I did uninstall the Reader X and installed this latest one.
But it did not solve the problem, still could not open the problem pdf's .
I did find the problem was caused by the MS Office Click to Run error referred to in my original message.  As far as I know we have no use for that on my wife's computer. Not sure how it got there.   I uninstalled it and so far the problem pdf's open fine now.  Problem solved.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Blank error message with ? appears and PDF does not open in Browser (IE11) when clicking link to open pdf. PC - IE11 Acrobat 9.0

Blank error message with ? appears and PDF does not open in Browser (IE11) when clicking link to open pdf. PC - IE11 Acrobat 9.0
Cannot access in browser PDF files unless blank box is closed and then website address is clicked on again in browser address bar and page reloaded.
Uninstalled Acrobat 9, reinstalled, still same problem.
    Help please!

Yes I can it only happens in the browser..
I reinstalled Windows on my machine and started over a couple of weeks ago.
When my desktop started up I didn’t have Acrobat installed and clicked on a pdf file and the open with xxx dialogue box came open.
I chose a different program as Acrobat wasn’t installed yet so it associated pdf files with another program.
Later Installed Acrobat and couldn’t associate the pdf file with acrobat so I went into Folder Options and manually associated PDF files with Acrobat.
Ever since then I get the error when something is downloaded and opened in the browser.
Works fine everywhere else and when I cancel the blank error, highlight the web address and press enter to reload it works 90% of the time.
    Not sure what to do..

  • Pdf file not opening on pushing fdf file with F key in Adobe  Reader

Well i am a novice developer in case of PDF Development.
The problem which i am facing is:-
In our application a PDF document submits the data to server and server sends back FDF to client with f key as http path of PDF which is present on web server.
This all works well in acrobat professional 7.0 but in abobe reader 8.0 the PDF file doesn't open up on pushing FDF.
On debugging the problem i found out that if server sends response within 480 milliseconds then reader is showing the pdf otherwise it don't shows up.Since in our application it will always take more than this time because of several operation performed to serve the request posted to server,So the
PDF will never show up in case of reader.
I was unable to understand what make it special in acrobat professional that session lasts more than 480 milliseconds whereas in reader the session doesn't last that long.
I really need uregent help on this.
    Thanks in advance for help.

It would be handy if you didn't double post too.

To answer your question, you've tried most things that I normally see working, but there may be an extra solution here for you.  The solution 2 Powershell that deals with updating the Inline MimeType may help.
