Acrobat Reader 8.1.1 licensing agreement problem

I downloaded the Acrobat Reader 8.1.1 to view a pdf file from a website. The download completed, but the document would not open, & a message saying "Licensing Agreement Not Accepted" popped up. There was never any opportunity to either accept or decline any licensing agreement. Any ideas to fix this?

I have had the same issue since allowing Acrobat Reader to update over the weekend. I have attempted to uninstall the 8.1.1 version and reinstall and have the same error message occur. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on 2 separate home computers and both computers now have the same issue.
When I attempted to uninstall and find an older version to reinstall from the Adobe website, I was unsuccessful. The only option is to install the newest version, which does not work.
Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated as I am now unable to read pdfs at all.

  • Reader license agreement problem

I have downloaded Reader  to my new netbook successfully but the license agreement does not have the Agree/Disagree buttons.  Scrolling down does not help.  I had no problem with the license agreement on my desktop, since it appears at the bottom of the license agreement panel even without scrolling down.  I don't think it has anything to do with screen size since I have seen several similar problems listed here for larger computers, but can't find that any solutions have posted.  Help, please, if you can.

Thanks for your suggestion about hitting the 'A' key.  I had already thought
of that and it doesn't have any effect.  Being a geezer I also remember when
many of these buttons had one letter underlined as a clue for doing it by
keyboard instead of by mouse, but I hardly ever see that any more.
In this case the Accept & Decline buttons don't seem to exist.  I guess I
will try calling Adobe on the slim chance that they can help.  Thanks again.

Change your screen resolution until you can see the button.
And, why would your thread be deleted?

Clearly Acrobat Reader has a problem.  If you point me at the symbols for AcroRd32 I'll help debug it for you since I can repro it easily.

    Here are few solutions:
    1. You can configure firefox to open pdf in external application like acroread. This way plugin problem is bypassed. - I use it this way. It looks to be faster this way.
    2. "C:\nppdf32Log\debuglog.txt" is created every time in directory from where you executed firefox/opera/other browser and opened any pdf file in browser. So this is not only home directory. You can fix this problem by yourself by hex editing nppdf.so file and replacing C:\nppdf32Log\debuglog.txt path in this file with /dev/null path. • Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 linux - font problem

    Hi,
I create pdf files through latex (pdflatex). These files contain some graphs.
kpf would display the document correctly, text and graphs, while acroread would complain about "cannot find or create the font ArialMT".
The problem is that some characters and numbers in the graphs displays as big dots.
I think all the necessary fonts are installed (msttcorefonts) as I see them in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts) and kpf runs ok.
Is it a matter of path with acrobat reader?
any suggestion is very much appreciated.
    thanks in advance
    mirko

    Hello,
Please set ACRO_ENABLE_FONT_CONFIG=1, in order for Adobe Reader to pick up fonts added through font-config. You could also try setting PSRESOURCEPATH=/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts on console.
Also, you could set ACRO_ENABLE_FONT_CONFIG in acroread script itself.Search for "ACRO_ENABLE_FONT_CONFIG", uncomment the relevant section, and save the script.Acroread would now be able to use these fonts, without you having to set any variable before launching it.
    Thanks,
    Sanika

  • Deploying Adobe Acrobat Reader X to the enterprise - transform problems

We've started looking into deploying Adobe Acrobat Reader 10 and have noticed some odd behavior when using a transform made with the Adobe Customization Wizard (version 10).  On Windows XP machines, all of the configured settings work properly (online components disabled, certificates, etc).  On our Windows 7 PCs we see inconsistant results.  Sometimes the settings are applied, other times the user logs in and receives the base set of options.
    1) Any idea what could be happening?
    2) I assume that the settings are stored by profile.  Could anyone point me to where they live (directory? registry? both?)

  • License Agreement problems

I just bout a brand new 160GB ipod classic today. I've connected the ipod to my ocmputer, have Itunes opened and in order to start syncing music from my itunes to the ipod, I have to agree to the Apple License. There's only one small problem... there's no place to click to agree. What's going on? I can sit here all day and read the license but I can't agree or disagree or continue on.

Deactivate the app, while the date is set back. Then return to normal time and reactivate.

  • CS3 Licensing Agreement problem and Bad support

I purchased the CS3 Web Premium and have used to create web pages for my business. This product has stopped working 4 times! "Licensing has stopped working". #1 The first call to the support was bad, after being directed to the adobe website and given minimal instructions, the person hung up. I eventually unistalled and reinstalled it. #2 same error 2 months later, same bad support, spent over an hour on the phone without resolution. Did the install again. #3 the person was helpful and we worked through the adobe site, downloaded a fix. #4 which was 2 days later and right now CS3 is down again. I have spoken to Rose, she tried to help and emailed me info, hung-up. Sean gave me the same info and when I told him that I did it already. He hung up on me. The next person kept asking someone behind her what to do next, she passed me to a supervisor and he emailed me information. I followed that and it STILL DOES NOT WORK. I called back again and spoke to another helper, she was surprised that it did not work yet, gave me the website and hung up on me. "Licensing has stopped working" My online business needs updating and this software does not work! I have asked this to be bumped up to a manager. 3 times they said I would get a call back. Nothing yet. Is there any help out there. I plan on posting this information on every blog and website until this is fixed!!!

Welcome to Discussions Jerry - your first problem should be helped by resetting the SMU. Shut down, unplug everything from the computer, remove the power cord. Wait 15 seconds, replace the power cord, then start the computer.
Your second problem could well be faulty RAM, since most memory is sold with a lifetime guarantee, I suggest you return it to the vendor and get a new stick. You can also run Rember, let it loop dozens of times unless it immediately reports a fault, and see what it says.

  • Software License Agreement problem

    Hello!
I downloaded an After Effects CC trial today and when i try to start the program "Adobe Software Licence Agreement" pops up and when i click accept the window dissapears for a second and then it pops up again and i can't get passed it. I have tried everything to solve this problem by reading about other peoples similar problems on the forums but nothing helps. I have tried reinstalling it multiple times but the same thing happens. I have tried setting the permissions for all Adobe folders correctly by verifying all users and groups to have full control over the folders but the agreement tingy still appears.
Is there any way to solve this?
    My computer setup is:
    Operating System:
    -Windows 8 64-bit
    RAM:
    -16,0GB
    Graphics:
    - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780
    CPU:
    -Intel Core i7 4770K

    Graphics:
    -NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (Gigabyte)
    Hard Drives:
    -120GB KINGSTON (SSD)
    -1000GB Seagate (SATA)

    Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
Rename the follwing 3 folder names :
    Adobe PCD -> Adobe PCDold
    backup -> backupold
    caps -> capsold
    Launch the application and retry.
Note : Do you have any other CC apps installed? and do they work fine ?

  • Can't open a document because it says i need to accept user licensing agreement then relaunch adobe reader

Im trying to open a document but im getting a message that i have to launch adobe reader and accept user licensing agreement and then relaunch adobe reader  I tried that and the same message keeps appearing. Help?

Unless there is a special function in Adobe Reader that you require then try opening the document with Preview. I don't have Adobe Reader installed on my computers and find Preview does all I require.

And, did you do that?  The message will no longer occur once you opened Adobe Reader & accept the EULA.

  • Plugin for Acrobat Reader cannot use DigSig methods?

    Hi,
I have an acrobat plugin created using acrobat sdk 9, registered using PubSec. Now, i want to make it run for adobe reader aswell. but i read the following somewhere:
You may not use the Adobe Reader key to develop or enable your plug-in or any other software or hardware to perform or enable any of the following:
Add functionality to Adobe Reader that is substantially similar to functionality in commercially available Acrobat products
Accept navigational commands from an application other than Adobe Reader
Create, remove, or modify any Enabling Rights (including but not limited to permissions added to a PDF file with a product such as Adobe LiveCycle™ Reader Extensions (formerly Adobe Reader Extensions Server)
Save or modify any Acrobat file (including without limitation PDF, FDF, or annotation)
Extract and save any content from a PDF file (other than submitting form data to a remote server)
Use any APIs from the Forms or DigSig Host Function Tables (HFTs)
Modify the appearance of Adobe Reader
Remove the menu item that calls up the "About" screen in Adobe Reader
Implement a Replacement File System (RFS) for Adobe Reader"
Does this mean that i cannot use a plugin registered using DigSig HFT   OR    that i cannot use DigSig methods in my plugin, which i have used generously?
If the latter, then does this mean i'll have to remove all DigSig method usage from my plugin?
    Thanks

It means you need a special Reader-enabling license.  When you send in your Reader IKLA (integrated key license agreement) you need to specify that you are doing something related to DigSig so that they can send you the revised agreement and pricing model.

  • Acrobat Reader 7

I am trying to instal new Samsung camera software on computer using windows Vista, but Acrobat Reader 7 showing as having compatibilty problems, although all camera info states it is all supposed to be compatible with this programme. Adobe technical support unable to help other than by suggesting I post message on here. Any speedy help would be gratefully accepted. Thanks.

I have just rung Samsung and the software is not necessary. All I had to do was plug in and go. All photos successfully installed on my computer, so I have wasted hours of trying to get the software suitably compatible.
And all it took was a short phone call.

  • Acrobat Reader 11.0.07 update causes LabVIEW application to crash

    Hi All,
I wrote an application that uses the Adobe ActiveX element to display a PDF.
This code used to work fine, but when I updated my acrobat reader from 11.0.06 to 11.0.07 it causes the application to start very briefly displaying the icon in the taskbar but then close (without an error or warning notification).
When downgrading to 10.0.06 the problem was solved.
Perhaps this can be of help for others who are experiencing problems with LabVIEW / Acrobat Reader.
    Chris

This is a known problem that everybody is yelling about and the solution is to not upgrade to 11.0.07. You don't have to all the way back to V10. 11.0.06 works fine. Just remember to configure Acrobat to not automatically update itself.
