There is not modern program called Acrobat Reader. There is an Adobe Reader program, there is an Adobe Acrobat (Pro or Std) program. Which program are you using? Under which OS?

  • Acrobat Reader Error ...There was a problem reading this document(107)...

I created several PDF files from within stored procedure using oracle's PL/PDF package and I email the files, as an attachment, to myself. When I attempt to open a file with a size greater than 100k, I receive an error message of 'There was a problem reading this document(107)'. When I click on ctrl-OK I get 'Error reading xrefx entry' error message. However, if the file size is < 100k, it opens fine. I am using Acrobat Reader version 5.1.0.
Does anyone know the solution to this?

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader error code (103:103)

I cannot open online PDF files as I keep getting error code (103:103) then asks me to exit and try again.

The  etc etc refers to the usual standard message as follows - also re Acrobat I was merely repeating the message given.
'there is a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If it is running exit and try again (103:103)' this was the exact message given. I had version 11.0.08 which I have now deleted and am using an earlier version 10.0.4 which seems to have resolved the problem for the time being

  • Adobe Acrobat/Reader error

In trying to print a PDF file I get the error message: "There is a problem with Adove Acrobat/Reader.  Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again."  When I do, the same thing happens.
Last week I was notified by my computer that there was an update to the Adobe Reader to 9.3.1 which I installed.  I did not have a problem printing PDF files before this update but I do not know that there is a direct cause and effect.
Adobe's response is that I'm getting all the help I've paid for in my free download.

You need to uninstall, clean up the installer and reinstall Reader.
Uninstall from the Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs in XP, Programs and Features in VIsta or 7)
Download, install and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility  (msicuu2.exe) to remove the Reader 9 installer files as well as any previous versions which may be on your system.
Redownload and reinstall Adobe Reader 9.
It should work without errors after that.

I try to WIndows Installer Cleanup... nothing happens.

I am unable to open a PDF file in Firefox 3.6.8. Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3.3 is installed. I get the error message "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser."

You can get that error if there is still an old Adobe Reader plugin in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.

  • Windows Installer error while trying to install Acrobat Reader 8

I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 off the CS3 disc. I already have Acrobat 8 Professional (8.2.3) installed. I just need the Reader. Whenever I try to install the Reader I get the following error, "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnal for assistance."
I have tried all the Microsoft fixes for this situation, but I still keep getting the error message. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Nevermind, I figured out what was wrong. I had disabled User Account Control (UAC) when I was tweaking my OS. So I enabled UAC again and was able to install Acrobat Reader 8 without any problems.

I am using a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.9.5, Safari browser. Previous versions of Adobe Acrobat have worked fine for years.

What's the name of the file you are attempting to open?  Is it "ScreenFlow_4.5.2.dmg"?  If it is the correct name then the message is correct and you are attempting to open a file with DMG files extension and not one with a PDF file extension.  Adobe Reader opens PDF files an not any other file type.

  • Print Problem - PDF is OK on Windows 7, but OK on Windows XP with "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."

I have received a PDF which prints fine in Windows 7 but with Windows XP I get "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." and a blank piece of paper passes through the printer. I appreciate that Windows XP is no longer supported but I would like to think that the solution to this problem is not too difficult!
    I have tried Acrobat 9, 10 and 11.
Any advice (apart from use Windows 7! ) would be most welcome.
    Many thanks.

If you use the same Adobe Reader versions with the same PDF on Windows 7 and XP, then I would expect the outcome to be the same.
Is this a local or online PDF?
If local, is the file really exactly the same?
    If online, in what browser?

     Dear Adobe people ...
This is a user-to-user forum; you do not address Adobe staff here.
The original post was about an installation on a beta version of Windows 7, which was not supported at the time.
If you have a problem with a different version of Adobe Reader on a different version of Windows 7, please open a new topic.
I'd gladly address Adobe staff directly about it if they didn't make it so difficult to do so but there are notices galore on their website restricting the ways of doing so for this particular product. That said, I accept that they may not review these posts and act on bugs found (although why is beyond me, I know if I was a developer of software and I wanted it to be top quality, I'd be looking everywhere I can for sources of bugs having been found and I certainly wouldn't make it any more difficult than an ordinary bug submission on any other software to report it).
It's clear to me that the problem originally posted about that shows up in Win 7 RC, is still present in the latest software and popping its ugly head up under Win 7 RTM. If they'd nipped it in the bud back then it should be fixed by now - that's annoying. I've been using online forums for a long time and I know it's always a good idea to search for a solution or similar thread and post in that if present, rather than opening an entirely new thread. As the bug is the same, the Adobe software version is very similar and the OS is just an earlier non-RTM version and there are no set forums for bugs within specific RTM vs RC/Beta OS's I posted here.
I'm not going to start a new thread because if, as you say there's no addressing of Adobe Staff here (and you haven't mentioned you have inside connections and will pass it on) what's the point? I will make one phonecall to Abobe in an effort to report this but there needs to be more open ways of bug reporting, even if it is a free product.
