  • Acrobat Reader problem in mini-PC

Hello, I have a mini PC, and can't use some preference settings in Adobe Acrobat Reader due to too small screen. For example, I can´'t see the OK-button.  Adobe has no scrollbar. Anybody who know how to solve this problem?

Thank you for your tip. Yes, I can, but the text then becomes almost unreadable. I hope Adobe some day will draw attention to this little problem and do something about it.

  • Security features in AA Pro & Acrobat Reader problem

    Hi,
In Adobe Acrobat Pro my PDF is shown to have "no security" - everything is allowed.
When I open that saved documnet in Reader 9.4 it has security features I did not put there.
In particular, no adding of comments (and markups).
Any ideas how to resolve problem welcome.

    Thanks Graffiti,
There seems no problem with the AA pro - opening advanced features - under security properties everything is allowed.
The problem is that when I open that same PDF in Acrobat Reader (which has no "Advanced") it does nlot allow the adding of comments.
In Acrobat Reader on toolbar under Document > Security > Show Security Properties : Security : Document Restrictions Summary : under Commenting it is marked : Not Allowed.
Any idea how to get around this.
What I want to do is to be able to make PDFs and send then to someone else for adding comments but Reader does not allow this and I am not disabling it when I make the PDF with AA Pro.
    Cheers

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader problem

I have not been able to get Adobe Acrobat Reader to work on my phone. My company distributes instruction via pdf files, and I'd been taking my laptop with me on service calls. I still have to do that, because I can't access any .pdf file on my phone except the overly red introductory how-to blurb. One thing that stands out for me is that the app doesn't show up in my app list what so ever. It's listed when I find the 'manage applications' tab. I've tried to download the update, and still no functionality. I uninstalled the update, in hopes of being able to re-install. Is the apps list supposed to include the Adobe Acrobat reader in the list/grid, or am I supposed to only have to go to my list of downloads to get to .pdf's. The downloads list shows where I've tried to download the file, but it always says "download failed".
Am I doing something incorrectly, or is this something that I need to do a factory reset on the phone to rectify? I have the updated Verizon software, but haven't checked to see if there's anything to update to the operating system.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the only Adobe Reader from the Play Store that is from Adobe Systems multiple times.
Is there another setting besides the wifi/data connection option I need to change?
I've gone through the Settings menu to the Applications menu and selected Manage Applications. The Adobe Reader is listed under "All", and when I select that particular app, it's indicating that version 10.1.1 is on the phone. The only options available are to back out of this tab in the menu, or selecting Force Stop.
I suspect that in the first few days of having the phone and the "ooh look at mommy's new toy!" someone may have deleted or removed the app somehow, or otherwise caused some kind of disconnection or malfunction. Going back to the Play Store to try again, the Adobe Reader app only has "Open" or "Update" as options for downloading. I downloaded the update (again) and it is showing version 10.3.0, but the downloads are still failing.
What other little quirks and details am I missing as far as settings, updates, or menu selections? Or should I just back up my pictures and files, and reset the phone back to factory defaults and start over again?

  • Possible Adobe Acrobat Reader Problems?

I recently tried to bring up  up  a website that requires Adobe Acrobat Reader and he site stated it could not detect Acrobat Reader on my computer.  I went to the Adobe website, which listed reader 9.4  for OS X 10.4.11.  Is Adobe Reader similar to  Flash Player where Adobe is not Supporting Mac Power PC and you are not able to load the most recent Reader for your computer?  After loading from the Adobe site, I tried to mount the web page again.  This time I did not get the notification that it did not recognize Reader on my computer.  But it produced a dark screen with an in-progress circle rotating in the middle of the screen.  After 5 minutes the web page still had mounted and I started wondering what the cause might be.  Is there a later version I can load that will support OS X 10.4.11?

    Hi Darrell, you guessed it...
Is Adobe Reader similar to  Flash Player where Adobe is not Supporting Mac Power PC and you are not able to load the most recent Reader for your computer?
    Nothing for PPC.
Might see if PDF plug-in helps...

  • Preview / Adobe Acrobat reader problems

    Hi,
My Mac was working fine until two days ago when I installed Adobe CS3.
Before, when I tried to download PDFs from my university intranet, Preview would open the files within Safarai. If I saved a PDF and opened it later, again, Preview worked fine.
But CS3's Adobe Acrobat kept crashing when I tried to open files in it, and I couldn't access any PDFs posted on the from the university intranet. Also, Adobe Acrobat kept crashing when I tried to open it directly. Photoshop gave me an error, but left me "ignore".
    I reinstalled CS3. Same problems.
I UN-installed CS3. Same problem. Now when I try to open a PDF from the intranet, I get either a blank box where the PDF should be viewed within Safari, or a message saying something about Adobe not being able to locate something. But Adobe should have been uninstalled and I'd hoped Preview would be the default again??
Please does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi again,
For some reason, yesterday the Library folder seemd to be empty. Today there was an Adobe plug-in file in there, so I deleted it. I also deleted the Adobe folder from the Library. As far as I can tell, I have no more files relating to Adobe on my Mac.
However, I'm still having the same problem -- I can't open PDFs from my university's intranet. Preview does not seem to be the default any more.
However, if I click on a PDF that I already have saved, it DOES open Preview.
Please does anyone have an ideas? I need to get this worked out this weekend before I go away and so I can access files over the Christmas holidays.
    Thank you.

  • "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)

We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

    Hi Valerie,
Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
    Also, try this:-
    Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.

    Hi
I've a big problem with adobe acrobat reader XI pro and I hope you can help me.
The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
    What can I do?
    thank you a lot.

There is no product called Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro. There is
    - Adobe Acrobat Pro ($$)
    - Adobe Reader (free)
Which do you have? And are you a programmer?

  • SWF Export, no font showing in Acrobat and zoom border problem (Acrobat & Reader) - Indesign CS6

    Hi Everyone,
If anyone could help me on this that would be great, I've spent hours on the forums and manuals to no avail.
I'm making an interactive PDF brochure in Indesign for one of our new products and I'm having issues (actual or perceived??!!) with the SWF export and PDF creation.  I'm placing animations and video in the INDD, exporting it as an SWF (with the text option as Flash Classic Text) and then opening the SWF (not importing to a word doc or anything, just opening the SWF) with Acrobat using the advanced options to import the video resources and to enable the content when the page is opened.  I then save the file as a PDF.  In the PDF everything works as it should, the animations, the buttons, the video plays and so on.  Great.. hmm not quite.
The trouble I am having is that all the content of the SWF when viewed in Acrobat seems to be getting rasterised/flattened - is this correct?  After the SWF is opened, Acrobat indicates no fonts in the fonts tab in the document properties so when the SWF is zoomed in Acrobat, or the saved PDF in Reader, the font gets pixelated and the document is not searchable/text can not be highlighted.  The images are not selectable either - it is as if the entire page has been flattened to one image.  Is there a way to stop this so that the SWF opened with Acrobat retains the font and individual images like a normal PDF?  Do I have to open the SWF in Flash first to set some parameters or something?  Is there something I am doing wrong when exprting the SWF from Indesign?  I think I have tried about every possible export combination.  When I open the .HMTL (exported at the same time as the SWF from Indesign) in a browser, the same happens.  All the animations work but the text appears to be rasterised/flattened/not searchable.  Sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology.
I have tried importing the SWF back into another new INDD and exporting that as an interactive PDF but then the video does not work.  I suppose I could try exporting all the individual animations as SWFs, importing them all and trying to get them to work with the video but I can see that will take quite some time and does not seem to be a guaranteed solution from what I have read on the forums - video playback being the issue.
Another problem is that when the SWF, or saved PDF, is zoomed in Acrobat/Reader between approx 150% and 210% a thick white border appears in the document and the content is squashed into the middle creating a slightly pixelated and narrow page.  When I zoom out from the page I get a small white line on the right hand border at around 70% zoom.  Please see images.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
On another, sort of related topic, my timing panel went blank yesterday and was not showing any animations in documents that it had been used to order and synch animations on page load as well as new documents.  The panel was blank.  I updated to V8.0.1 and the panel sprang back into life - hope that helps anyone else finding the same problem.
I am not very familiar with Indesign/Acrobat/Flash so I guess all the above could be what I'm doing or I could be asking  really dumb questions - apologies from a newbie.
    Best,
    Emily

    Hi All,
I have now pretty much solved all the issues by creating the SWF in Flash rather than Indesign.  I would advise anyone looking to create an interative PDF with animation and interactivity to go with Flash from the start.  While Flash is a little more involved to create the same effects as Indesign, the extra time taken will ensure a more controllable and better looking PDF in terms of text quality, scalability and so on.  Plus you will not spend days trying to get video to work along side imported SWF etc in Indesign.  One of the best controls in Flash is being able to set the stage.scaleMode for the document so the PDF still looks crisp when zooming, no white borders etc.  So, create the .fla, export to .SWF, open the .SWF with Acrobat, modify the advanced settings to enable start on page load and save as a PDF.  If you don't know Flash, I didn't a couple of days ago, watch a couple of tutorials on Youtube.. buttons, tweens, embedding video and you'll be ready.  Don't be put off by ActionScript, there are really handy Code Snippets in CS6 that do all the heavy lifting for you.
    Sorry Indesign!
    Best,
    Em

  • With new updates from Acrobat Read my computer freezes and I can not fill in forms anymore, how do I fix these problems?

After updating Acrobat Reader my computer now freezes when I try to fill in forms using Acrobat Reader, this never happen before! Now the only way to unfreeze my computer is to turn it off and restart it, which is not how a computer is suppose to be turned off as nothing responses to get it unfrozen(ESC., Contol-Alt-Delete)! The I shows up as if I am able to fill in forms, but after trying to fill in the form numerous times various ways, it always ends up freezing my computer up! I HATE THE NEW UPDATES! Why can't I speak with a live human, through Adobe? I would not want to buy anything from any company which would not allow me support by talking to a live human over the phone, as typing messages can be misunderstood! Their is no point to have Acrobat Reader any more if it does not allow me to fill in forms! I could use the reader that came with the computer! It is sad that for myself filling forms using Acrobat Reader was nice since there are times I am unable to write anything due to tremors, unfortunately I am not alone in this type of medical problem and we the disabled the majority of us are on Social Security! Everyone know that Social Security does not give their recipients enough money to live off of! It is sad when a person is ill they lose more than their livelihood, so called friends abandon you too! So how can I fix the freezing problems and is there any Adobe that I can fill in forms which will not cost me money and or another company that may offer this free of charge?

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • Need advise on a problem one of my customer have with properties going missing in Acrobat Reader

    Hi there.
I need some advise on a major problem I got with acrobat reader on one of my customer's laptop.
I might not have all the informations, but I can explain about everything that I could dig out of the problem.
One of my customer asked me to find a solution to his problem as he just bought a Mac laptop and he has only been using a Windows PC before. He needed a way to be able to manipulate some texts and picture on a file (template) that he print a couple of times each week. I have built a 2 pages PDF form for him and it was a success on every computer we tried it on, except for his new Mac Laptop.
Whenever we open the file on his laptop in acrobat reader, every single properties of any forms are not readed.
    Those "missing" properties include :
    - Everything in the "Text field property" which include size, choice of font (I specifically took a system font available on both PC and Mac and tested it on another Mac), alignment and apearances.
    - All forms, checks and buttons are resetted to a "default" appearance.
The names and ID of the forms seems to be correct and forms with the same name seems to work. (if he fills in one part, it automaticly fills some parts on the 2nd pages instead of having him rewrite the whole stuff.)
The sizes of the forms are correct too. It seems to only affect the form properties, but not the manually inserted javascript.
I tried to open another form PDF I took from the Web (gouvernment forms) and it seems like the problem is not from my file as it happen with all PDF files with forms.
I checked his Acrobat Reader version and it seems like it's up to date, as well as his java software.
Since I couldn't do a full check-up and tried to reinstall Acrobat Reader and java as I only had about 20 minutes to check things, I'm asking around before taking that kind of option into account.
If any got any idea or have already experienced that kind of strange thing, please tell me where could the problem be.
    Thanks!

The file is opened manually with Adobe Reader directly on the customer's computer harddrive. (Right click on the file directly stored on the desktop. "Open with ..." and then select "Adobe Reader". The program showed on the top bar is Acrobat Reader and it's hard to mix it up as it's totally different from the "Preview" program on the Mac.)
If I opened it with Preview (on the Mac), it was even LESS buggy. While some options  are not accessible in Preview (mainly those who use javascripts or adobe reader/acrobat only features), the visual that aren't working in Adobe Reader were working fine. Since some basic options aren't available in Preview, my customer needs to use it in Adobe Reader.
I can garanty that the problem is related to Adobe Reader and/or maybe background process that Adobe Reader uses (for exemple : Java, C++, etc.)
I asked around to know if someone have already experienced this issue and if they have found a way to repair it without doing a full reinstall of every kind of process that Adobe Reader uses.
Also, if I'm doing a clean up for a restoration of Adobe Reader, is there any other program to reinstall then Adobe Reader and Java?

  • Acrobat Reader Error ...There was a problem reading this document(107)...

I created several PDF files from within stored procedure using oracle's PL/PDF package and I email the files, as an attachment, to myself. When I attempt to open a file with a size greater than 100k, I receive an error message of 'There was a problem reading this document(107)'. When I click on ctrl-OK I get 'Error reading xrefx entry' error message. However, if the file size is < 100k, it opens fine. I am using Acrobat Reader version 5.1.0.
Does anyone know the solution to this?

  • Print Problem - PDF is OK on Windows 7, but OK on Windows XP with "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."

I have received a PDF which prints fine in Windows 7 but with Windows XP I get "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." and a blank piece of paper passes through the printer. I appreciate that Windows XP is no longer supported but I would like to think that the solution to this problem is not too difficult!
    I have tried Acrobat 9, 10 and 11.
Any advice (apart from use Windows 7! ) would be most welcome.
    Many thanks.

If you use the same Adobe Reader versions with the same PDF on Windows 7 and XP, then I would expect the outcome to be the same.
Is this a local or online PDF?
If local, is the file really exactly the same?
    If online, in what browser?

  • Problems getting multiple digital signatures in Acrobat Reader form

I have a Word document that I converted to a form in Acrobat 9 Pro. I added two separate digital signature fields, one for a conference presenter and the other for the conference planner to sign. There are also a number of text fields where presenters give bio information. I saved the document using the Extend functionality so that a user who only has Acrobat Reader would be able to fill in the form, sign/save it, and then send it on to the conference planner. The first part is working fine. However, once the first user signs/saves the document, the extended functionality goes away. When the conference planner receives the document, it is essentially locked. She cannot sign and save.
Is what I'm trying to do possible? I feel like this would be fairly commonplace, but I may be going about it the wrong way. Thank you for any pointers.
    -Brian

    Hi Steve,
I have met similar problem. Using Adobe 9.4 I have prepared document with three signature fileds. I did signature in one of the field and then did extension to Reader. When I checked the propierties of document it occured that signing was not allowed. I couldn't sign it second time (not saying of Reader's user).
Is there missing any plug-in or something is wrong with a configuration (mentioned "Nothing has happened when signed" was set up)?

  • The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.OK. I followed the instruction and the problem still persists.

I got the following pop-up when I tried to open an online PDF file:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.
Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.
I tried many time, and it really doesn't work.
The plug-in I have is Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280

After I upgraded to Firefox 5, I had the same problem and I did a work around temporarily. I went the tools menu, then Add-ons, then clicked the "Plugins" on the left side (4th one down). I "disabled" both Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.0.536 using the disable buttons on the right side. PDF files now open again. However they are outside the actual browser.
My guess is that Adobe didn't catch up yet with a new update to work with Firefox or vice versa.
    Hope that helps!
    Michael
