Acrobat Reader update/download fail

I have Acrobat Reader 2.0.0.0. When I attempt to open it, I am required to download updates. The final update is upgrading to version 2.3.0.0. The problem is when I attempt to do the download/update, an error is detected and the download fails. What should I do?

You mean Acrobat.com?  This is an outdated software which has been replaced with online services at https://www.acrobat.com/

  • Consistant Acrobat Reader Update Problems

Why the hell can't adobe produce an acrobat reader update that doesn't feel the need to drop an icon on the desktop if it does not find one there?
This apparent need to mark you territory is highly annoying. Or can't you figure out how to disable it in the patch utility?

  • Is acrobat reader update 110.08 a legitimate update?

Is acrobat reader update 110.08 a legitimate update?

The update 11.0.08 is an out of cycle security update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat XI (11.0.07) and earlier versions for Windows. This update addresses a vulnerability that could allow an attacker to circumvent sandbox protection on the Windows platform.
You can check more details from the release notes: http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/reader/apsb14-19.html

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI downloads fail

I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI earlier today, but the download failed. When this happened with another software a few days ago, the company had me download the trial version, so I tried that with Pro XI but to no avail. How can I get what I paid for?

OMahapalmer are you receiving any specific errors when you try to download Adobe Acrobat Professional XI?

  • OTA update - download failed. How do I restart it???

For some reason, the download failed on my phone. Now when I try to check for the update, it says there are no new updates. However, the status says:
    Source: Verizon Wireless
    Name: 2.11.605.5
    Status: Download Failed
    Code: 412
Is there a way to restart the download? My software info shows:

Did you power your phone off and restart. Wait for phone to settle and try again?

  • Update downloads fail, initial app installs work fine, Windows 8.1, internet connection and firewall settings fine

I just installed the CS6/CC applications I use without any issue. I then was prompted to install various updates. All the updates failed and the message says the downloads failed. I checked my internet and firewall settings and they are fine. I the was able to install a different CC application I hadn't installed before. That process worked fine so I retried all the updates. They all failed again and for the same reason. I have even tried a cold system reboot. Nothing works. I am really baffled.
Has anyone run into this and, if so, were you able to figure it out.

  • Adobe Reader Updater download

I keep getting a message that a new version of Adobe Reader Updater is available. I don't want to download from the Updater message itself, instead would like to download directly from Adobe downloads, wherever that might be. I've been scouring their site and can't find it anywhere.
One other pertinent question, actually: do I really need the new Updater? What will happen if I never get it? (Currently installed Reader 8.1.2)

    Thanks Niel,
I don't want to use the Updater to install the updates, but just to find out if there are any, which I would then get from Adobe downloads.
I guess if it just stops working at some point I can always go to the Adobe website from time to time to see if there are any new ones. I suppose the new Updater version might be included in the next Reader Update anyway.

  • Acrobat Reader Installer Download stops at 50% with error Lost connection... Trying to reconnect

The Acrobat Reader was working all fine. Just about a week back while trying to download a PDF form from a trusted site, the PDF forms were not opening whether I use explorer or Chrome. After following several forum and google search solutions, I uninstalled the reader and tried to re install from get.adobe.com Version xi which was originally installed on the desk top. I have Windows 7. As i was just getting hung up with the download, I tried to restore the computer to an earlier date the problem was not there. But even then the PDF files don't open up " unable to open if adobe is running stop it and try again' something like that. So i went to programs and tried to re install the program it comes up with Error 1311 Data.1.cab... file not found with the path of the file and saying see if file exists.

Use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader, free download, and it won't let me do anything until I pay...why?

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader and it continues to tell me I have to sign up and pay before I can do anything.  Why?

By the way, maybe you're just confused about the product, since you're certainly confused about the name.
There is no product (not any more) called Adobe Acrobat Reader.
There is Adobe Reader - it is free.
There is Adobe Acrobat - this is not free (but the download offers a free trial)
You can have either or both.

  • App update download failed with this dialog that cannot be dismissed

In Snow Leopard, in Mac App Store click "Update", download busy spinner keep spinning and never finish. After I quit App Store app, I see this dialog behind all the windows on the desktop:
mouse over it the busy beach ball shows up and click on "OK" does nothing.

Yes, I couldn't figure out how to kill that dialog box. So I reboot. Running Mapc App Store update again and this time it worked.

  • Can not open Adobe Acrobat reader, when downloading a document...?

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader "successfully,"  yet when I try and download a file, the pop up says would you like to download Adobe reader??

If the above does not resolve your issue, please provide some details.

  • Pgms requiring Adobe AIR won't work. Update download fails.

Several programs requiring Adobe AIR have stopped working and a new one I downloaded fails to install. The AIR installer says I'm rummimg ver. 3.8.0.870 trying to load ver. 15.0.0.356. CPU is a Dell XPS running
Windows 8.1.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Please refer to this link for more information:How do I fix error message "installer file is damaged"?
This can happen when the installer's certificate has expired and there's no time stamp in the signatures.xml file.  Using the link above, please verify if the .air file has the right information and report back here.  I see the time stamp in my install but I still get the same error message.  I want to see if this problem is more widespread.

  • Acrobat reader updates

Adobe should really work on the user-friendliness of those updates!
Those are quite frequent, and every single time
    - you have to agree to install the update (annoying popup#1)
    - shortcuts are installed on the desktop
    - now McAffee is installed...
What exactly are you guys thinking about??

This is a user forum; you are not addressing Adobe here
Adobe Reader has been updated four times this year:
    Feb 8 (9.4.2, 10.0.1)
    Mar 21 (9.4.3)
    Apr 11 (9.4.4)
    Jun 15 (9.4.5, 10.1.0)
Regarding desktop shortcut, you can request a policy change at  https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
McAfee is installed by the download manager; the download locations for installers without DLM are published daily in this forum (e.g. http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/)
