Acrobat reader update ver. 11.0.03

Since installing this downlaod I can not attach files to my emails. When trying to attach files it asks me to allow adobe to run then the files start to load and then somehow it cuts off my internet connection in Windows 7 Internet explorer (think I have 9) in hotmail. I can use firefox and everything works but my main communications are done through hotmail.
I shouldn't have to choose which browwser to use the program should work on all systems and browsere. Talked with a friend and he says since downloading version 11.0.03 he is having a lot of problems also.
How do I fix this?
Steve C.

From email?  If I have email and want to reply with an attachment there used to be the word (attach) I clicked on it and it allowed me to attach my files.  Now that is gone and I have to go the the Box in the tool bar. I think it says attach file, attach picture and something else. Any way I click on that and then my computer looses internet connection thus never allowing me to attach anything at all.
Thanks for your help.
Steve C.

Why the hell can't adobe produce an acrobat reader update that doesn't feel the need to drop an icon on the desktop if it does not find one there?
This apparent need to mark you territory is highly annoying. Or can't you figure out how to disable it in the patch utility?

Is acrobat reader update 110.08 a legitimate update?

The update 11.0.08 is an out of cycle security update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat XI (11.0.07) and earlier versions for Windows. This update addresses a vulnerability that could allow an attacker to circumvent sandbox protection on the Windows platform.

  • Acrobat reader updates

Adobe should really work on the user-friendliness of those updates!
Those are quite frequent, and every single time
    - you have to agree to install the update (annoying popup#1)
    - shortcuts are installed on the desktop
    - now McAffee is installed...
What exactly are you guys thinking about??

This is a user forum; you are not addressing Adobe here
Adobe Reader has been updated four times this year:
    Feb 8 (9.4.2, 10.0.1)
    Mar 21 (9.4.3)
    Apr 11 (9.4.4)
    Jun 15 (9.4.5, 10.1.0)
Regarding desktop shortcut, you can request a policy change at  https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
McAfee is installed by the download manager; the download locations for installers without DLM are published daily in this forum (e.g. http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/)

  • Acrobat Reader v8 and vXI side-by-side installation

    Hi,
A while back I bought a Fujitsu scanner which came with Acrobat Reader Standard ver.8. It has worked brilliantly over the years. The whole package - quality!
Now Acrobat Reader has obviously evolved and we are now up to version XI and occasionaly a pdf arrives that acrobat complains about. I suspect pdf was created in a newer version with features my old v8 can't handle. Now, I'd like to be able to read these docs, so the question is whether I can have these two products installed on the same PC? Can I download the free XI reader while keeping the old Version 8 Standard?
I don't want to pay £194 for an upgrade. That would be a complete waste of money as I see it.
    Thanks for any comments.

Just to get your product names right - Adobe Acrobat Standard was the retail product, Adobe Reader is the free one. "Acrobat Reader" doesn't exist.
Yes, you can install Reader and Acrobat at the same time; but you'll need to define which is the default hander when double-clicking PDF files (unless you change it, Reader will take over as it's the last thing to be installed).
Acrobat 8 is now end-of-life so there won't be any more free updates, and if you upgrade something else (move to Windows 8, etc.) you will have to buy a newer version anyway. It depends on what you're using it for, but the OCR and editing/exporting features in Acrobat XI are far better than they were in Acrobat 8.

    Hi Robert,
Are you using EMET Antivirus? I have seen the issue caused due to this. Try disabling it and  check.
I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
    BEFORE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
    AFTER:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.

  • This is the third time I have entered this question and answered with my PW, etc. I have updated my IPad with IOS 7, and updated Adobe Reader with ver. 11.3.1. I cannot get any files or folders to come up when I click on Adobe, even though my Usage indica

I Have updated IPad to IOS 7.1.1, and also updated Adobe Reader to ver. 11.3.1. When I click on the Adobe icon, I get no files or folders to come up, just a blank screen. I know from my usage indicator on the IPad that I have 36 GB of PDF files resident, which I expected, but how do I access them. I had updated from IOS 5 because Adobe was crashing so often that it made it difficult to work.

If restarting the app or your iPad/iPhone does not work, we are not aware of any other ways to fix this particular problem.  Uninstalling & reinstalling Adobe Reader may be the only option left.  It will clean up the "inconsistent" application data.  But it is not even guaranteed to fix the problem.
If you uninstall Adobe Reader (or any other iOS apps), iOS will erase all of the application data including settings/preferences and PDF documents stored locally on your iPad/iPhone.
We'd highly recommend backing up your PDF documents regularly (not just this time) so that you do not lose them when something goes wrong.
How to backup and restore PDF documents on your iPad/iPhone using iTunes
    Backup your PDF documents.
    Uninstall Adobe Reader.
Download and reinstall Adobe Reader from the App Store.
Alternatively, you can store your PDF documents in cloud storage (e.g. Acrobat.com, Dropbox, Google Drive), which will eliminate the need to backup local files.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.

After updating Acrobat Reader my computer now freezes when I try to fill in forms using Acrobat Reader, this never happen before! Now the only way to unfreeze my computer is to turn it off and restart it, which is not how a computer is suppose to be turned off as nothing responses to get it unfrozen(ESC., Contol-Alt-Delete)! The I shows up as if I am able to fill in forms, but after trying to fill in the form numerous times various ways, it always ends up freezing my computer up! I HATE THE NEW UPDATES! Why can't I speak with a live human, through Adobe? I would not want to buy anything from any company which would not allow me support by talking to a live human over the phone, as typing messages can be misunderstood! Their is no point to have Acrobat Reader any more if it does not allow me to fill in forms! I could use the reader that came with the computer! It is sad that for myself filling forms using Acrobat Reader was nice since there are times I am unable to write anything due to tremors, unfortunately I am not alone in this type of medical problem and we the disabled the majority of us are on Social Security! Everyone know that Social Security does not give their recipients enough money to live off of! It is sad when a person is ill they lose more than their livelihood, so called friends abandon you too! So how can I fix the freezing problems and is there any Adobe that I can fill in forms which will not cost me money and or another company that may offer this free of charge?

  • Acrobat Reader 11.0.07 update causes LabVIEW application to crash

    Hi All,
I wrote an application that uses the Adobe ActiveX element to display a PDF.
This code used to work fine, but when I updated my acrobat reader from 11.0.06 to 11.0.07 it causes the application to start very briefly displaying the icon in the taskbar but then close (without an error or warning notification).
When downgrading to 10.0.06 the problem was solved.
Perhaps this can be of help for others who are experiencing problems with LabVIEW / Acrobat Reader.
    Chris

This is a known problem that everybody is yelling about and the solution is to not upgrade to 11.0.07. You don't have to all the way back to V10. 11.0.06 works fine. Just remember to configure Acrobat to not automatically update itself.

  • Doesn't give a loud warning that an executable is no longer protected (Adobe Reader updated to ver 11)

Running EMET 4.1 on Win XP.
I updated Adobe PDF Reader from version 9 to version 11.   When this happens, Adobe places the program's executable file in a different subdirectory than in the previous version.  The file name is the same, but the location is completely different
(Adobe uses the version number as a subdirectory name).  EMET did not loudly warn me that AcroRd32.exe was no longer protected.
It did mark that executable in italics to show that something was wrong. But I only noticed that because I deliberately went in to the protected apps screen to check.  There's no indication on EMET's home screen that a previously protected program is
now unprotected. And there wasn't an easy right-click menu to modify the executable's path.  I had to delete, search, and re-add the Adobe executable.

Use the Add Wildcard button to replace the version number in the path with *.
The Recommended Software profile in the Deployment folder has an entry which sets the path to
    *\Adobe\Reader*\Reader\AcroRd32.exe
The Memprot mitigation should be disabled for Adobe Reader and Acrobat.
