Acrobat Reader X druckt falsche Buchstaben / prints wrong letters

unterschiedlichen Bedingungen. Bei einem Kunden werden PDFs überwiegend fehlerhaft
ausgedruckt (beim wiederholten Druck o.k.) - leider auch wichtige Geschäftsdokumente!
Es betraf auch Klemmenleisten (Elektro-Planung), die falsch beziffert waren!
Wer kann mir helfen?

Hi, all,
I think, it´s a problem with protected mode in Acrobat X.
I turned off "activate protected mode at start", and I have
no problems more.

  • Acrobat Reader does not recognise my printer

    Hello,
When I attempt to print a pdf document from adobe reader, my printer is not listed in the dropdown list of available printers.  I am therefore unable to print anything.  This issue only occurs with acrobat reader, all other windows applications recognise the printer and print fine.  The printer is connected via wifi.
I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and the drivers, as well as acrobat reader.  I have restarted my computer.  The issue still persists.
My system information is as follows:
    Windows 8 64 bit pc
Epson WF-7515 with the latest drivers
    Acrobat reader version 11.0.0
    Any solutions are much appreciated
    Regards

I have the same problem. My Brother HL-1430 over USB connected to my Airport Express works perfectly. But via Time Capsule no way. I did all the deletion, re-install etc., but no success. I think the Time Capsule has still some problems to solve. What I did now:
I have connected my Airport Express via Ethernet (bridge mode) to my Time Capsule. I have my stereo and USB printer connected to Airport Express. My TC connects to the Internet. In addition I have an additional USB HD connected to TC for TC archiving and file sharing.
My MacBook connects to TC only. Now all works fine. I can use everything together at the same time (Internet, printing, music streaming, TimeMachine) without even having dropping bits when streaming sound in parallel.
Here I must say, that I would have long expected Apple to finally include Air Tunes into its base stations and TC. It's a bit of a joke that you still need to buy an additional Airport Express just to stream your music. Here marketing and product positioning at Apple goes too far and harms the concept of an easy and integrated solution.

  • Where is Acrobat Reader 7.0 (Linux) default printer setting saved?

    I have a GNU/Linux based system with Firefox/Acrobat Reader v7.0 plugin installed.
I need to set a specific printer for the Reader plugin to use prior to starting the browser.
In AcrobatReader version 5.x, I modified the file 'AcroRead' which contained the line "*lprCommand:/usr/bin/lpr" and added a '-P Queuename'.
Is there an equivelent to this in the Reader7.0 environment?
    TIA,
    Tom

    Unfortunately, that doesn't cover requirements.
This is an environment where I need to configure the printer for the user every time prior to starting the browser. The users are on a thin client; when the client reboots (nightly) any saved configuration is wiped out.
I need to set the 'user defaults' for each user, on each workstation, every time the software (Firefox, Acrobat Reader, etc) is launched.
The defaults are not stored on the client system -- they are saved on a network accessible server. Using a shell script, a base configuration downloaded from the network server, and based on various criteria, (location, username, client ID, ... ), various defaults get set every time the workstation boots.

  • Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 network print issue after installing XP SP3

I administer a network of 30+ workstations, and since installing Acrobat 8.1.2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3, I've been experiencing odd behavior from the print function in the reader.
Staff can open a pdf document with no issues, but when they try to print to a network printer, nothing happens. I then in turn open wordpad on their workstation, do a "File, Print", and the print functions properly.
I then can go back to the reader, and the print job will work.
Nothing has changed on my network in regards to previous settings, with the exception of installing reader 8.1.2, and XP SP3.
    Any ideas, or potential solutions?

You are not alone. I hope you get some response. We have seen nor heard anything.
    See: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/?13@@.59b56569/6
Title: Adobe Reader v8.1.2 Compatible with Windows XP Pro SP3
One ray of hope is that it seems to be getting quicker. I don't know why but I'll take it!
When I go to this Windows XP link,
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsxp/default.mspx
it says I am running SP2 instead of saying I am running SP3, which is what my System Properties says is installed. Just something to think about and perhaps check.
    Good luck!

  • Acrobat Pro 8.1.12 and Acrobat Reader 9.0 crashing when trying to print

The subject line says it all, but I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Leopard 10.5.5 and now when I select File | Print I get the spinning beach ball than Acrobat crashes. Now oddly, if I use Acrobat Reader 7.0.9, it prints perfectly. But have Acrobat Pro 8.1.12 crash every time the File | Print is selected is a major problem. And no, not even the dialog box comes up first, Acrobat just goes down.
Has anyone else seen this? I saw in the forum others were have problems creating PDF's, something I haven't done yet.

Try the following: (I have no idea if it will help but might be worth a shot.
Its possible That you need to update the driver shown in Printer Utility.
Locate Adobe PDF 8.0 (what evr the latest version is.
Now delete from Printer Utilities List, and quit Printer Utility.
Now open Acrobat 8.1.2 and go to help menu.
    Now choose reapir or Replace.
uncheck PDFViewer and check Adobe PDF
    Now click okay to repair.
If you have acrobat 9. all previous acrobat versions will work with the Adobe PDF 9.0 Driver just fine. It just will not try to use new features added since 9.0.
Also, It possible that your Print Driver for your printer has been updated with the new Sysytem Upgrade.
If so remove the printer listed from the Printer Utility List.
the click on add printer. look for the driver for your printer listed choose make default then quit.
Try Acrobat 8 again and then go to set up menu see if you can find your printer listed. is so choose and save as default.

  • Win7 Pdf print with acrobat reader

I have a problem with the printer's list,
if install a printer... it does appear in the list.
if i change or remove a printer it disappear...
The problem is verified with acrobat 10 and 11, with the version 9 the printer's list is blank.
With acrobat reader 9 i can't print because "no printer is installed"...

Make sure you update to the lastest available version of Acrobat/Reader (these are two different things, by the way)... Only versions 9.2 or higher are compatible with Windows 7.

  • Can't print "Form Fields Only" from newly-installed Acrobat Reader XI

I have created numerous forms for our agency on which our employees used (in previous versions of Acrobat Reader) the "Form Fields Only" print function. We finally got the boss to give us the OK to upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for me, and Acrobat Reader XI for the employees. However, they open the same forms we've been using and find that they no longer have the menu option to choose "Form Fields Only" for printing purposes. I would be very grateful to anyone who might be able to steer me in the right direction as to how I resolve this issue. Unfortunately, the job does not afford me a lot of time for research and "playing" with new software, and we need to have these forms work for us by Thursday. Help, please! And Merry Christmas to everyone!

One possible workaround is to export the form data and then import it into a "blank" version of the same file, that has only the form fields. This would require using a script to export and import the data, and to create that additional version of the file for printing purposes.
Or you can put the file's contents on a non-printable layer when creating it...

  • Acrobat Reader 9 slow printing

There is no question that Acrobat Reader 9 causes problems with printing. I, as many others, reloaded printer drivers, checked every other possibility and finally removed version 9 and reactivated version 8. No more problems. This was with an HP P2015 laser jet printer. Reader 9 definitely has some issues.

If Adobe Acrobat Reader prints slowly try the following:
    1.             Open a PDF file
    2.             From the menu, select File > Print
    3.             From the dialog displayed, click on the Advanced button at the bottom
    4.             On the Advanced Print Setup dialog, make sure that “Let printer determine colors” is CHECKED.
    5.             Click OK and OK to print the document.
    This worked for me.

  • Acrobat Reader won't print

I installed OS 10.6 and now 10.6.1. Acrobat Reader 8 wouldn't print. Installed Acrobat Reader 9. Won't print. Canon MP530 printer gives this error message: "Unable to open raster stream. No such file or directory." No problem previously, with 10.5 and Acrobat Reader 8.

Solved my own problem; read the solution here:

Hope it works for all of you with different printers. The issue seems to be in the printer drivers, though.

  • Acrobat Reader X security, comments disable

Hello, we need to work with Acrobat Reader X. We generate a pdf from a doc file and we add security to disable printing and we enable commenting, but when we open it with Acrobat Reader X we see that printing is disabled, but commenting is disable too. ¿It's a bug from Acrobat Reader X? we know that Acrobat Reader XI resolve it but we can't see in realease notes.

We add security from java with itext library. Wirth user and password:
    PdfStamper stamp = new PdfStamper(reader, out);
    stamp.setEncryption("".getBytes(),"PASSWORD".getBytes(), (PdfWriter.ALLOW_MODIFY_ANNOTATIONS), true);
If we put "stamp.setEncryption("".getBytes(),"PASSWORD".getBytes(), (PdfWriter.ALLOW_PRINTING), true);" we can see PRINTING enable but it we put " stamp.setEncryption("".getBytes(),"PASSWORD".getBytes(), (PdfWriter.ALLOW_MODIFY_ANNOTATIONS), true);" is always disabled.
We use Acrobat Reader 10.1.3 .
I read some discussions like http://blogs.adobe.com/vikrant/2010/12/can-i-comment-on-pdfs-using-the-free-adobe-reader/ but i need an oficial release note where we can read the bug.
    ACROBAT X.
    ACROBAT XI.
I know that with Acrobat 11.0  the problem is resolved, I tried with 10.1.4, 10.1.5, 10.1.6, 10.1.7, 10.1.8 and 10.1.9. I can't find the list of release notes of Acrobat Reader 11.0.

  • Exported PDF looks beautiful in Pages and Preview not in Acrobat Reader

Hi, I need a little help. I created an eBrochure in Pages which looks beautiful. When I export it to PDF, it looks amazing in Preview but not in Adobe Acrobat Reader; pictures doesn't look so bright and shiny, they loom more opaque. Also fonts look kind of weird. I went to Photoshop and tried to do it there, it looks better in Acrobat Reader but texts don't print as nice as the Pages one (photos do). So my problem I guess is with the photos on Pages... What can I do to ensure that my document created in Pages and exported to PDF can have the same quality in the Reader as it has in Preview?
Photos are in JPEG format and have a decent resolution I guess:
    File Size 1.4 MB
    With: 1200 pixels
    Height: 1800 pixels
    Resolution: 300 pixels/ inch
    Pixel Dimensions: 6.18M
    Pages computer is a MBA, 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.5.7, Pages '09 4.0.2
    Thanks.

As far as I know, there is no provision for such settings in these programs.
Developer documentation for ICC colour management in Firefox 2, Firefox 3 and Firefox 3.5, see below. Firefox 3 has ICC colour management disabled by default. Firefox 3.5 has ICC colour management for images within which there is embedded an ICC source colour space profile. It is possible to set Firefox to colour manage the application windows as well as images with embedded ICC profiles. The developer documentation discusses how to do this in what sounds suspiciously like a command line / terminal tool, and also how to point Firefox 3.5 to the display profile. This in turn sounds suspiciously like Firefox 3.5 is unable to talk to the system level service and ask for the display profile automatically.
Camino and Opera ... I'll pass. I suspect it's more of the same mess.

  • Search feature missing from Acrobat reader?

I loaded a PDF file out to my Touchpad but there does not appear to be any search feature in the Acrobat reader?   Am I doing something wrong?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

I agree and made the suggestion.  Maybe if enough of us ask, the feature will be implemented.
Go to the Software Manager, click on Adobe Reader, click on "report a problem", click the drop down and choose "other".
    Also, try the feedback:  http://www.hpwebos.com/us/company/feedback.html

  • Will OraRRP Support Adobe Acrobat Reader X?

After Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9 on a Windows PC was upgraded to version X (10), the Oracle Reports Remote Printing Utility (orarrp.exe v1.3.4) no longer worked. (OraRRP setup for Reports 10gR2 per MetaLink Note ID: 277431.1.) It worked fine before Acrobat Reader upgrade but, afterwards, report printing attempts generated an OraRRP Error -- 'Failed to establish DDE conversation with Acrobat, Error: 16394'.
Downgrading Acrobat Reader back to version 9.4 allowed OraRRP to function correctly again. Will the OraRRP utility be updated to support newer versions of Acrobat Reader (X or greater) which include latest OS and security fixes?
