Acrobat Reader X Help, please.

I am trying to use Acrobat Reader X, and the problem that I am having now with it is that after about 15 seconds a message pops up in Windows 7 (my operating system) saying that it (Adobe Reader X) has stopped working. It never did that before today, so any assistance in resolving this matter will be greately appreciated.

But of course these do not include anything like a complete set of manuals like in the 'old' days'. The only included manuals of much help to a beginner are the getting started and quick reference manuals.

If you want a hardcopy, your only real option is to do a print of the LabVIEW Help. I have not done a print in a long while. What I tend to do is look at the release and upgrade notes to see what has changed and then look it up in the Help. I'll also open any new examples with Context Help turned on.

Error Message: Unable to load Acrobat Reader control. Please make sure it is correctly installed.

The above error message appears when my client tries to open PDF files from a website. He is running Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 9. This problem just started happening about one week ago. Saving the PDF to a file and then printing from there works, but he has to open and print about 20-30 files per file that he does, so that is not feasible for him to do.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader X, with no luck (he never even had Acrobat Reader installed - ever). I have uninstalled his anti-virus, but that didn't help. I have checked for any updates that may have installed recently, but there were none. He is also having this problem on his laptop, which is running Windows XP with Internet Explorer 8, so this leads me to believe that it is an Adobe issue.
He did not feel like he should have to pay Adobe for them to figure out their own problem, so that was out of the question. I can't say that I blame him. Unfortunately, he works from home, so this has really put an impact on his business. If anyone has seen this before, or if anyone has any solutions, please let me know! Any and all help is appreciated! I work on computer's for a living, so don't worry about over-explaining any solutions you may have.

That file only? And before version X, Adobe did not recommend having Acrobat and Reader installed in the same Win computer...

Cannot read discs, help please?

Hi, any suggestions would be wonderful, but this is the current case:
I have an iMac that I purchased back in 2007. Literally, I just installed snow leopard a week ago, and the next time I inserted a disc into my drive - the disc got stuck. And this was very bad of me, but I took a card and gently jimmied the disc till it came out. I have never had this problem till I installed snow leopard onto it. So now whenever I put a disc in - it doesn't mount, and I hear the drives trying to read the disc, but it only spits out the disc after thirty seconds or so. Also, I have tried many different discs, and it is all the same case. They are all spit out. Help please? Should I just take it into the Apple Store?

While you might have damaged the drive, but because of how they are vertically mounted in the iMac and maybe some heat related issue, the drive could've simply just failed. Its time has come.
Tthe internal optical drives in the aluminum style iMacs because of there mounting position seem to be prone to failure.
Your AppleCare has long since expired.
You have two options. You can pay to have the drive removed and replaced with a new internal drive and risk another premature failure. At least your iMac will have a brand new internal optical drive.
OR forget about the internal drive and look for and purchase an external third party optical drive that will be much better built and last longer and you can use this drive again when and if you decide to upgrade to a newer Mac or iMac model.
Another note. If you decide to have an Apple tech replace the internal optical drive, you might ask if possible, how much to install a larger hard drive into this iMac since they have to tear down the entire iMac anyhow.

Cannot use adobe reader. need help please

when i click the desktop icon it says to run the program. well when i click that it says "please wait while adobe reader 9.3.4 update setup is being processed.". and than nothing. nothing happens at all. im extremely frustrated because im sure this is just a simple problem that i cant seem to figure out. any help would be awsome

I have the same problem, but I can't uninstall Adobe Reader 9. I have XP operating system. I get a message about "package not available" or some such. It MAY be incompatibility with MS Internet Explorer.

Hibernate Mapping Exception Error reading resource: Help Please

I've downloaded Hibernate this weekend and have been working at getting this up and running in my spare time. I've run into a problem and can't seem to find the solution. I'm hoping some one here can help me out.
I'm running MyEclipse
MySQL
and Hibernate 2 in a struts application
I've only got one form and table that I'm trying to map right now, but I get the above error when I run this line of code.

ok finally gotten back to this and rewrote a bunch of the code. I'm getting almost the same error, but not quite.
I'm still getting org.hibernate.MappingException: Error reading resource: but it is pointing to the first mapping resource located inside the hibernate.cfg.xml.. so I know it is finding and making it inside the hibernate.cfg.xml.
this is the code that the exception occurs in.
the actual line is the configuration.configure(); in the else statement.

File Read/Write Help Please!

I am trying to get my program to write an object (or just its varibles) to a file and then be able to read them out again and assign them to their title. i.e be able to read String bo, int car, and int[][] cost to a file (doesn't matter what as long as I can save it and then open it at a later date).
I really can not figure it out, but I will include my simple test code.

It has already been pointed out that you need to use 'Serializable' and that you need to do more than just ignore exceptions. SO, to spell it out

My font in email is too small and spell ceck is too small and light to read. HELP Please.

According to the Firfox help which I have tried everything suggested. I can get the font readable size by using the + sign - it does not always hold BUT the spell check is even smaller and so light it is impossible to read. This only happens with my Firefox Yahoo account. Any suggestions?

Cannot uninstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro: Help Please

Cannot uninstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. Gone to programs and tried to uninstall then message says it is going to do it. Then message prompts come up asking if it can update my software. If I say no action it stops uninstalling. Then if I say yes it goes no further either.
Regret every taken up the trial offer for this programme as I tried using it and message repeatedly appears saying "Acrobat failed to send a DDE command".
Please can someone offer some advice. Thank you.

Try launching acrobat in safe mode, to do so follow the steps:
a.       Press and hold down shift and double click the acrobat icon and then open a pdf file.
b.      If it opens without crashing after about 15 seconds, then you have a faulty plug in, locate and remove it from your plug-ins folder.
c.       To remove plug-ins, you may contact Acrobat Support

Adobe Reader 9 Help Please

Seems a simple thing but I can't figure it out....I am reading a book in Adobe Reader 9 (I have Home 7, if that makes a difference) and I am trying to mark where I left off....so when I open it up again I can easily find where I was. Anyone????

- Downloaded offline PDF
Changed Adobe Reader EXE AcroRd32.exe compatibility settings to Windows XP SP3
Launched Adobe Reader > Prompts "protected mode" windows to disable> Disabled Protected mode>Help working fine now
Would you mind tell me the importance of Protected mode in New version of Adobe reader.

Acrobat reader plug-in

When trying to view a bank statement online i get this message:
I'm sorry. I can't find Acrobat Reader installed. Please download and install plug-in before viewing statement.
I have tried to download Adobe Acrobat. It shows up under applications in Finder. There are no plug ins for adobe showing up up in my plug ins list, only shockwave, quicktime, java etc.
I think when i used to try and open a plug in it asked me if i wanted to use a default program and if i said yes it would open in another window.
What am i doing wrong!!!!

Adobe reader comes with an optional internet plugin, for displaying pdf's within your browsers. A very few websites may insist upon using that plugin, rather than Apple's built-in pdf support.
You can enable it via Adobe reader preferences - Internet, and checking the box marked "+Display PDF in browser using+..."
Do this with any browsers closed
The actual file, for those interested - is found within the adobe reader package, at
/Applications/Adobe Reader 9/Adobe Reader.app/Contents/MacOS/SelfHealFiles/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin and needs to be copied to HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ or
/Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ in order to over-ride Safari's built-in pdf support.

I get an error window that says There is a problem with adobe acrobat reader if it is running please exit and try again. Alittle help here PLEASE!!

What version of Reader are you using, and are you on Mac OS or Windows? Do you get the same error when you try to print other PDF files, or is the problem specific to one PDF?
For starters, please try the solutions listed in this thread: Re: There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat /Reader. If it is running ,please exit and try again.(0:104)
