Acrobat Reader XI will not print

Hi,
Just installed the recommended download to up-grade to version XI but now I can't print the PDF document.
Using Windows7/64bit

Thanks Atul,
Th problem has recently been resolved when my new technician made some adjustmnents. The problem was not the fault of Acrobat. It goes back to my new high definition IPS monitor several weeks earlier. When using Windows Office 2007 I was seeeing green haloes mainly between letters such as" ll, ii, db" etc. where the vertical lines filled with green. In Adobe Bridge, the variable text in control boxes took on a red colour. My technician (at the time) sought help via the Microsoft Help site and found this was a common problem with professional high definition IPS monitors like my new one. The instructions (4 pages from the Microsoft site)  said to turn off the Clear Text Type and replace the font 'SEGOE' with Tahoma. As the technician workede his way through the steps, I watched as he marked them off as he went so as to ensure the changes were correctly made. This solved the problem but it wasn't until a week later when I tried to print a PDF file that my problems with Acrobat began. The PC was taken to another technican fora "second opinion" and this man fixed the problem within a short time by changing the font back to the Windows default, SEGOE. He may have done something else but when I saw the printer dialog panel on his workbench with no other problems either, I was anxious to try it with my new monitor. No more colour fringing/haloes etc and no further problems with Acrobat However, I was waiting a little longer before informing you of the outcome-just in case it didn't work.
It seems that Microsoft may be incorrect in their 'Fix' advice as the font SEGO may well be required for Acrobat to print a PDF file?
This case may now be closed with thanks for trying to help with a problem that in the end turned out to not your fault
Bob

Reader XI will not print a document.  Using Mac OS X with HP Photosmart 2259.  I can print any other document but not this particular one downloaded.  The message I get is: 'no pages were selcted to print'.  The document is a form that contains signature panes.  I have tried to disable Echosign but the green bar continues to reappear when I open Reader.

Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here. I may be able to resolve the spooler/print queue issue that you are experiencing automatically. Let us know the results.
    Best of Luck!

  • Acrobat Pro 9 will not print to printer in OS X 10.7

I have a new MacbookPro that came with Lion already installed. I installed a new copy of Acrobat 9 Pro from the OEM CD. All functions including printing to my Brother Laser printer and Canon inkjet worked. I installed the Lion 10.7.2 update and I can no longer print pdf on either printer. Other apps print fine. I get "Error" message under "Status" in printer dialogue box. I now have OS X 10.7.2 and Acrobat 9.4.6 installed. I cannot print pdf files to my printers. Latest drivers for both printers. Printers work fine with all other apps. I tried several combinations of Acrobat and Lion reinstalls. Nothing works. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

I've been having a similar problem with Acrobat Pro 9 and 10.6.8, using a Brother MFC 3240C inkjet. This has been going on about a week, since the last ink change. As a half-remedy, I can print pdf's using the "Print As Image" option, reached from the Acrobat print window under Advanced options. I can also print pdf's using Preview.
Are you able to Print As Image or print with Preview?
I had been thinking of upgrading to 10.7, but I don't want to make the situation worse.
In any case, with Acrobat Pro 9 and also Acrobat Reader 10, the 3240C print window and display shows everything normal and data moving to the printer, and it makes noises like it's printing, but it spits out blank sheets.
I had the same response you did out of AppleCare. They said they didn't think it was an Apple problem.

  • Acrobat Pro 8 will not print some graphics, any ideas?

I am printing from Word 2007 to an Acrobat Pro 8 PDF.   When I do so, some of the graphics will not show up.   They seem to be in the document as when I highlight them, they show they are blocked and I can actually copy the stuff by highlighting it and copying, but it will not print or display.
This seems to be a new problem, as it worked fine, then I am not sure what trigered it, but now it will not print all the graphics.   The graphics are just JPGs
Note the document looks good on the screen, but when I create a PDF or print the PDF, it will not print.
I also see this a lot when I use my PrintShop Mail program, which uses Acrobat to genterate it files.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Geoff

Since Acrobat is not an Apple product, you would probably be better off posting your question on Adobe's own forums as they would be geared more toward the issue than an Apple forum:

  • Acrobat Reader 8 Will Not Default to Double Sided / Duplex Printing In Linux

Acrobat Reader for Linux 8.1.2 seems to always default to single sided printing regardless of the system default. In order to save trees, toner, the environment and money, it would be nice if it would default to the system's default.
    > The default printing command is something like:
    > lpr -P printer_name -o InputSlot=Middle -o OutputBin=PrinterDefault -o Resolution=300x300dpi -o PageSize=Letter -o Duplex=None
    > Requiring the user to select double sided printing every time they print. This changes the command to:
    > lpr ... Duplex=DuplexNoTumble
    > It would be nice if the default setting was:
    > lpr ... Duplex=PrinterDefault
    > So that users could still choose but platform administrators could set the default in /etc/cups/lpoptions Unfortunately, most people will simply not print double-sided unless its the default.

  • Acrobat Pro XI Will Not Print Word Document with a Rotated Table

I have a MS Word document that is mostly text, but include a table that has been rotated in a text box to fit on the page.  When I try to print to PDF using Acrobat Pro XI, the document crashes at the page the table is on.
I have tried several attempts to print using the Acrobat Printer, convert to PDF feature and trying to print just the page alone.  Acrobat will simply not print word document with a rotated table.
Any idea how to fix this?
Word 2013, Windows 7, Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.06

In the full document, the print to PDF goes only as far as the table, then ends - not printing the table.  The remaining pages are not printed.
For example, I have trimmed the file down to just the table page, and included links to it, and a copy of the PDF it generated.

The error message I now get when I try to print is: "There is not enough memory or disk space to repaginate or print this document."
However, with the Task manager open, the memory never seems to get above half of the available (the graph bar fluctuates a little, but stays stable")
The page prints to a regular HP or Xerox printer with no problems.

  • PDF's in Acrobat Reader X will not open when using the browser, Internet explorer opertes all ok? Mozella 4 is the default browser! Windows XP Home ed with all latest updates!

When using the Mozella Firefox 4 browser and the NEW version Adobe Reader X, PDF's online will not ever open. After 1-3 minuites, I eventually get a message the Adobe reader is running, but need to close and try again! I get same results when trying again.
Internet Explorer operates and opens the online PDF's all ok and the Adobe Reader X seems to operate all else ok!
I think, but not sure, that this issue appeared when the Adobe Reader updated from the older version 9 or so to the NEW Adobe Reader X version about 1 or 2 weeks ago, but not sure. I just remember that Mozella always worked ok previously to the Adobe Reader X version for opening online PDF's last month, etc.
Note that I said that Internet Explorer browser operates ok Using the New automatically upgraded Adobe Reader X for viewing PDF"S! (adobe notified me that the new version 10 (X) was available for updating, etc) I also just discovered that google chrome browser opens the online PDF's ok!
I have not trying re-storing the computer to the previous month, etc, since the issue seems to be with Mozella not liking the Adobe Reader X version and Internet Explored browser operating ok!
    Any ideas????

I had the same problem and my solution was to disable the PDF extension that came with Firefox 4 which belongs to another company. I found out that it wast interfering with ReaderX. I unabled it and restarted Firefox. I have had no problems since then. Go to Tools, Add-On and click on Extensions and disable the PDF extension. I hope this helps

  • Need help!  Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard will not print to printer, only want to print to prn file.

I have done a repair on the file,  I have installed the lastest updates, and nothing works.  My next step would be to uninstall and reinstall the program.  Does anyone have a fix for this?  I have always been able to print PDF files and this just started this week.
    Thanks for any help!

Nothing is broken, and uninstalling will probably not help.
You have an option PRINT TO FILE in the print dialog and you must turn it OFF.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro will not print .pdf on HP printer

Help!  I have not been able to print a .pdf file from my HP Officejet J6480. Each time I sent the file to the printer it acts as if its going to print and then I get a paper jam error but there isn't a paper jam. I am using an HP TouchSmart 610 with Windows 7.

Several things to consider. You might try to print as an image. There have long been problems with the HP printer drivers also, so you might try to be sure you have the latest. One characteristic of a lot of HP printers is that the page size must match the paper in the printer, or the printer waits for you to fix the paper issue. So be sure the paper size stated in the printer is the same as your PDF, or at least the paper selection made in the printer menu.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not print fillable text.

I have a user that is having issues with printing a fillable pdf file.  Two things are happening.  First: the document prints fine except what is filled in the sections that are to be filled out.  Second: It always prints this along with it:  "This job requires more memory than is available in this printer", and then lists several options to try.
The user is running windows XP.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help.

This will be a PostScript printer, and needs more memory. Probably very cheap. Alternatively, try Print as Image.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not print PDFs. Can you please help

Why can't Reader XI print PDF pages?

    Hello everyone:
I have been totally frustrated as well and had to keep uninstalling the update and go back to my previous version of Adobe Reader 10.1.4.38.  Now I did what Frank above said and it finally allowed me to print PDFs again in the 11.0.09 version!  You may need to do some of the other changes but the below changed everything for me!!!!!
'View documents in PDF/A mode' to 'Never' Preferences .

downloaded acrobat reader 11 onto my Mac Book Pro, it can open the file but will not print. Get a message that says PDF cannot be printed, however, I forwarded it to someone else and they could print it, no problem. I called HP and spent an 1hour with them and then called Apple support and worked with them for 3 hours. No one can figure it out. Is there something wrong with this version? the pdf was created in 2004. Do I have to pay to get Acrobat?

Let me give you a slightly different perspective than everyone else here.  You are using an unsecured wireless network, which means that all your network traffic is easily available for viewing by anyone else using that network.  That's bad.  Very bad, for you, unless you absolutely trust everyone who lives within range of this network.  So stop doing it.
As to the Mac not connecting, wireless networking is simply too complex for any reasonable answer without more information.  There are many possible error points, and as often as not it's the Mac that can connect and the Windows PC that cannot.  Since you can't give us any information about the configuration of the neighbor's network, and can't make any changes to it, we can't do much to help you troubleshoot it.

  • Acrobat reader will not print what is showing on the screen

I created a business card in a graphic design program,  exported it as a PDF file. When I open the pdf file in acrobat, it will display correctly on the screen, but will not print correctly.
When I click on the print icon, a box opens and shows a small preview of what is supposed to print. What shows in the small preview box is correct, but when it prints, it drops off text.
When I go back to the program that created the card, it will print correctly from that program.  When I open the pdf file in Photoshop, it will print correctly in Photoshop.  It just drops off text in Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader when printing.

This sounds very similar to the issue that I am having.
acrobat pro printing correctly ,same file with adobe reader printing grey instead of black.
Unfortunately I have not yet gotten any feedback, and your post being over 45 days without a response doesn't bode well for my issue either.
    Sorry I can't help you.

  • Dot matrix printer will not print well with acrobat reader 8 and 9.

I have the dot matrix printer IBM Proprinter XLIII, with Acrobat Reader 7 pdf prints correctly, but with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 and 9 print badly.

I updated the drivers with a new version, but continues to print badly with acrobat reader 8 and 9 (the text is not readable)

  • PSD files will not print from Photoshop CS4 (previously posted in Acrobat printing and prepress)

My questions are: Does the PSD file have the printer information encoded?
Also why has this just started to show up? My wife has work successfully under the same conditions, files moved and printed on different printers, with no problems in the past.
I (we) have been struggling with a recent problem trying to print PSD files from Photoshop CS4. (Vista 32 bit, Epson 3880 networked) When trying to print certain, but not all, PSD files I get the message: "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." I have been in contact with Adobe support about the issue but with little in the way of positive results. I was referred to a kb link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/409/kb409119.html Tried all that to no avail. (The first suggestion is absurd to the point of making me wonder what process is used to construct the kbs. You cannot open the print menu when you get this message so....?)
Other solutions are not acceptable for the work my wife is doing, editing high quality photographs for an exhibition with test prints and so on. We are under intense time pressue with four shows coming up in a very short time. The final solution offered is that CS5 has solved all of this. Hum? interesting. No comment except new program, new problems so not a real solution for us.
In searching the web about this problem I have come across many other people with the same problem working from different platforms and even different Adobe products. I noticed that the MAC OS seemed to cause the same problem and that there was a problem with Reader and Acrobat. In every case the problem is never solved by Adobe or anyone else and users find some "workaround". I too have found what we hope is a workaround in our contiued travels on the blogosphere, on flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/wellington/discuss/72157621548183001/ as "...a nasty, nasty solution" but we skipped the flatten part and the GIMP part and resave the PSD under a different name.
Adobe does seem supportive but not that interested (CS4 right) but I would like to find a real solution and I think many people would benefit from it.
Anyway what I have found is that the PSD files that will not print have been printed on another printer at some time in the past. In my case the Printer was an Epson Artisan A50. The printer we are using now is the Epson Stylus Pro 3880. Even when trying to print wirelessly to the 3880 from the laptop (Was Vista, now Windows 7) that was used to edit and print with the A50, (USB connection) we saw the same error. So it seems that the printer information is somehow embedded in the PSD file (also mentioned in a Blog) and is keeping PS from seeing the printer because the same printer is not there.
Has anybody already found the fix?
I know this is a long post but I have been working on this problem and have heard all of the pat and frankly useless answers and workarounds. Can we find a solution and fix the problem?

Just a few examples, since you ask:
