Acrobat SDK and the requirements of other Adobe Products
Hi!
I installed Adobe SDK and Adobe Acrobat Professional the previous year.
The SDK is used in an MS Access solution. As I remember I had to instal Acrobat Prof in order to use th SDK.
Now I am going to run that Access solution on one of my clients PC's.
I have told them that I think they have to instal the Acrobat Prof for that case.
But they want to install the "CS3 WEB PREMIUM" because of some other needs. Will the SDK function as well with this "package"??

What do you mean my managing the views and handling them one at a time? Do you mean taking one page at a time and drawing a rectangle region?
Actually, i didnt see any AVDrawRectanglePDDoc method...which would draw a rectangle in the entire document irrespective of pages..all we have are these foll.functions which takes pageView..n thts where i get stuck as my user defined region doest go beyond current page!
AVPageViewDragOutNewRect (pageView, nX, nY, &deviceRect);
AVPageViewRectToDevice (pageView, &pdUserSpaceRec, &deviceRect);
AVPageViewDrawRect(pageView, &deviceRect);
Can you please tell me exactly by using which method would this be possible?

My hard drive fried and had to be replaced. I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".
Can anyone help?Yep. Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI. I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column. Now it's just blank. Link to screenshot below:

Note the install date. That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it. Now I can't even do that. I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller. It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it? It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd. -
Hi how do I unistall the Adobe downlaod assistant from MacBook Pro? I've managed to unistall the Acrobat Pro and the Acrobat Pro Cloud but the assistant app doesnt give me this option (I'm suing Finder). Thanks
AMelie Eliabeth the Adobe Download Assistant can be dragged to your trash can. There is no separate uninstaller or any other application files to remove.

I installed indesign CS5 on new macbook pro and keeps freezing with spinning wheel once the app opens. Is there an issue with OS Mav or font issue or a plist I can pull. All other Adobe products work.
Migration should never be done with any Adobe program.
If you have done Migration, you have to UNINSTALL first (if even possible) and then download Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and run that also. When this is done, restart your computer and install the programs from an original Adobe Installer.
Other question is, if your OS is supporting that version. You can try it, it is not officially supported, but it might work.
But CC will work, upgrade to CC2014 (without additional cost), use that as it is better anyway. -

Firefox has suddenly gone wrong. I was successfully running both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. My laptop is new and has plenty of RAM and HDD. I auto-accept upgrades including the most recent Firefox upgrade and the suggested upgrade to Adobe Flash 10.1. But after this, Firefox stopped working and does not work when I re-load Firefox 3.6. Also IE8 now works very slowly and does not locate major websites like Microsoft without a 'can't find the website message' and having to pressing Return a second time. When I do get to the Mozilla website and click on the button to try to download Firefox 3.6.6, I get this message "Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mozilla3.snt.utwente.nl". Can you help with what has gone wrong? As it stands, I can't use Firefox at all. Note: because Firefox did not work after the upgrade, I've downloaded the IE8 version of the Adobe Flash 10.1. What I really want is to be able to use both Firefox and IE8. But is this possible if they use different versions of Adobe Flash?

After upgrading to Ffx 3.6.6, the program asks you to upgrade to Flash Player Plugin 10.1. I download and installed 10.1 only to find videos weren't loading.
In my case, the problem is the previous installation of Flash Player (9.0.47) was somehow messing things up. To fix this, because I already had Flash plugin 10.1 installed I had to uninstall 10.1 using the uninstaller from adobe and then manually remove any files related the old flash player plugin 9.0.47
Here is a run-down of my process:
0. To check if you have a previous installation of the Flash Plugin lurking around, in Firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins (tab). At this point you may seen both Flash plugins.
1. Proceed to uninstall Flash Plugin 10.1. Adobe provides an uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
( you have to make sure you have nothing running when you execute the installer).
2. On my Mac (sorry I don't know what it is in Windows) I searched the hard drive for any files/folders with "Shockwave". I found a folder called "Shockwave 10". It wasn't removed by Adobe's uninstaller. For safety I deleted it and then emptied the trash.
3. I then went to My HD -> Library -> Internet Plugins.
Remove the file and folder named "Flash player.old"
4. Restarted; ran the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 installer. Restarted again.
5. Opened up ffx and double checked the plugins list (see step 1). Version 10.1 is installed and available. Went to problem sites to test it out and Success!

What's the difference between Java SDK and the Enterprise Edition? Are they both free?
both r free but they are used in diffrent applications. sdk are used for simple apps that run on your computer while j2e (enterprise edition) are ment for large distributed computer systems that include servers and such. if you don't know the diffrence you probably wont need the the j2e, only the sdk.

I have a new Nikon D750 sitting on my desk and can't edit the photos with any adobe product? We are in full wedding season and am a little frustrated. Photo mechanics opens them right up to download them. I am using the Nikon software to convert them into tiffs. when is the camera raw update coming out. I am not the only photographer with this issue check out all the chatter about it.
This happens every single time a new camera comes out from one of the two big camera makers. Nikon and Canon do not send preproduction units to Adobe, so Adobe has to go out and buy a D750 or whatever from the store to test and profile it before they can update Lightroom. They can't get one earlier than you and I can. The profiling is quite an extensive operation. Other camera makers do send preproduction units, use dng, or do the profiling in-house and there you often get support right from release. If camera makers would finally embrace an open raw format such as dng, this whole problem would be gone but both Canon and Nikon seem to think they live in an upside-down world where their clients only use their software.
Usually the dead period only lasts a few weeks but it is frustrating nevertheless. My only advice is to not buy a new camera at the day of release and expect to have third parties to support it. You definitely should not be buying these cameras right away if your business depends on it. Aperture, Capture One, etc. have the exact same problem. No third party (read non-Nikon in this case) will support the camera from the release date. Some are quicker than other adding support. Adobe is somewhere in the middle of the pack in this respect. Nobody outside of Adobe knows when an update comes out. Could be tomorrow, could be a few more weeks or a month. They might jump straight to Lightroom 6 and never add direct support to LR 5. Sometimes they will first bring out a beta version of dng converter that will convert the new camera's nef files to dng, which will work fine in the current Lightroom before updating Lightroom itself. -

type correctly arabic text or (rtl) generally - The only way is
converting the text to a graphic format in an external program !!
And there is no Middle East versions for these products.
So, I wish adobe thinks to take this step in near future.

Since several Adobe products such as After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator use the same text engine you might want to try copy-pasting Arabic text from the Photoshop CS4 template provided in this blog post to After Effects CS4 and see if it works. AFAIK Director uses a different text engine from PS, AI and AE.

iTunes is saying that I have over 4.78 GB under the category of "other", making it so my iPhone 4 can't add any data (music, apps, pictures, etc.). I'm currently using only 1.3 GB of storage on my iPhone, and the rest is "other". How do I fix this?

How can I move columns in Numbers without distorting the formula in other cells? In Excel I can cut and paste entire columns and the formula in other cells adjusts accordingly. When I do it in Numbers, the formula messes up. How can I do this?
For example: I have formulas in columns D and F that relate to columns C to CU
If I want to move one column from one position to another (say S to T), the formula loses the colums that was moved, i.e. it doesn't recognize it has moved, rather sees it as deleted... How can I do this without distorting the formula?Thanks for the feedback.

Searching infos in the iBooks Author documentation available on line is awfully cumbersome and a lot of embedded links are wrongly flagged this way. In the Help files they aren't links but underlined strings.
It seems that the tool used to generate the web pages was wrongly configured.

If I understand correctly, you hope the Page Header shows in one sheet, the body and hidden page headers in another sheet when exports a report to Excel. To achieve this goal, we can put page header content into a rectangle, then set the visibility of rectangle
using expressions. For more details, please refer to the following steps:
1. Add a rectangle to the page header, then drag the page header content into it.
2. Click the rectangle, in the Properties window, click Visibility, in the Hidden text box, click Expression, type the following expression:
=IIf(Globals!RenderFormat.Name="EXCEL" and Globals!PageNumber <>1,true,false)
3. In the Report Body, right click the Table Header row of the first tablix and select Tablix Properties, check Add a page break before check box.
4. Click the tablix, in the Properties window, click PageBreak, in the Disabled text box, click Expression, type the following expression:
=IIf(Globals!RenderFormat.Name="EXCEL",TRUE,FALSE)

Familar with other Adobe products but new to Encore...
Hello everyone,
I'm completely new to Adobe Encore but have worked with many other Adobe products such as Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and I am currently learning Dreamweaver. I recently picked up the Adobe Production bundle and am planning to put together a Demo Reel. I have heard that encore would be the best place to put everything together for a DVD. Since I am new to the whole program though, I don't exactly have a firm grasp of even where to begin. Does anyone know of some good websites I can venture to, to help get my feet wet with the program? I would greatly appreciate any sites that someone could posts or even books that I could read up on. Sorry if there is a huge faq page some where on the Adobe website here and I've missed it. Thanks!I would also strongly suggest Jeff Bellune's Encore book, A Focal Easy Guide to Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0, Focal Press. Though the name contains "EncoreDVD 2.0," 100% of the book will apply to ALL versions of Encore, from 2.0 to CS4. Now, the Adobe Dynamic Link in CS4 is not covered, but that is a minor point, and the CS4 Help files (plus this forum) cover that very well. Though there are no AV files in the book, it is very clear, and will step the reader through both Encore and the DVD-specs, by which we all must live. This is my go-to reference for anything related to Encore and is just as useful now, as it was with the introduction of En 2.0.
