Acrobat Standard Markup numbering issue

Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.4.5 and am having issues with the markup function.
Whenever I add a comment or mark-up, I get a small sequential number next to it (and sometimes obscuring the text as well).
It is also in the printout.
Any way I can turn the display off?

Thanks for the reply.
I tried your suggestion but no luck.
I am uploading a screen print for your information.
You can see the small numbers to the top left of each mark-up.
Anything you can do to help is much appreciated.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard XI print issue

When opening a PDF in internet explorer, adobe acrobat won’t read pre chosen print driver settings.
When using acrobat stand alone, not in internet explorer, it does read the print settings.
Specifically the issue is you set up print driver as single sided print under finishing.
Only when you open PDF in IE, does acrobat choose 2 sided, it doesn’t read your single side setting under finishing.
This does not happen for adobe reader by itself, with no acrobat. If acrobat is installed in addition to adobe reader, it still happens for acrobat.

  • Acrobat XI page numbering issue

After upgrading from acrobat 8.3 to acrobat XI page numbering takes 5 to 10 minutes per 80 page document. With acrobat 8.3 the same function took seconds. What can be done to improve this function. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have tried saving the doc in the higher version first but that does not seem to matter. A doc created with the new version is fast but the old ones are very very slow. Creating all new docs is not a good option since we have 500 or so.

    Hi Jeff ,
How exactly are you trying to add the page numbers?
Do you want to add the page number for your reference ?
By adding header and footer under the pages option in Tools pane you will get an option of adding page numbers.
See that once and let us know how it goes.

  • Acrobat Standard XI deployment issue

    Hi all,
I have trouble deploying Acrobat Std XI in our corporate environment via SCCM 2012.
Prior to the deployment I always apply the latest update via an administrative install (AIP).
It used to work with older versions of the Reader and Acrobat.
It also works with Adobe Reader 11 without any issues but I can't get it to work with Acrobat Std XI.
I first create an administrative installation (AIP)
    msiexex /a AcroStan.msi
I then apply the latest update:
    msiexex /a AcroStan.msi /p AcrobatUpd11010.msp
This all works without any issues.
I edit some settings with Adobe Customization Wizard XI.
When I then try to install the software with or without the MST it fails.
At the end I receive "Installation Interrupted".
I then tried to apply an earlier update (11.0.02) also without problems.
The installation of Acrobat seems successful but I cannot start Acrobat.
Every time I start the application the Windows Installer starts to run and nothing happens.
The shortcut also doesn't have the Acrobat icon.
    All prerequisites are installed.
I've also tried to install it with the switch IGNOREVC10RT 1, even though this is not necessary as this prerequisite is already installed.
I have a log file as well:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26384367/acrobat.log
(removed license information from log file)
I always did it like this and it was never an issue, but it doesn't work this time.
I've tried to install it on different computers. On x86 and x64 systems...
    Any help appreciated
    Thx

  • Acrobat Standard (9.4.6) - Issue: "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form"

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard (version 9.4.6).  I am trying to create a form but when I start the form wizard, locate the document to convert and click next, I get an error message "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form."  What's wrong?  (I've used this feature before in Adobe Pro so I am familiar with the process but I am using Standard now).  It's not letting me upload my document (an MS Word 2003 document).  Please, someone, anyone, help!  I think I got a bad batch of software here.  Any suggestions?  If it's hopeless, who do I call for a replacement if that's the case?  Is this software under warranty?

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for your email.  The file I am trying to convert to PDF and create a form with is a MS Office Word 2003 file.  It isn't any specific file; the issue happens every time.  I type my text in the Word doc and then proceed to open Adobe Acrobat Standard and use the wizard to create a form from an existing file.  I tried to repairing the software but it does not help.  Any other suggestions?  Is this version of software defective?  I really need this feature.  I look forward to your reply.  Thanks.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.0- 2 different part numbers?

I see two different part numbes while shopping for Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.0. 22002418 and 22002420. Does anyone know the difference?

I don't know about the numbers, though it appears to be related to specific versions. For instance, you have a full retail version and an OEM version with the same number (only OEM added). There is a DVD version supposedly. What raises flags for me are the Retail versus 1 user versions. As far as I know, all versions are 1 user unless you are purchasing a volume license. The other flag is the sale of the OEM version on line. That is not consistent with the OEM process. You may be able to purchase a legit copy at this location, but you are taking a risk. The site looks perfectly legit, but most bogus sites do. Good luck in whatever decision you make.

  • Acrobat Standard 9.4.5 Printing Issues

    Hi Forum People,
I am having an issue with Acrobat Standard 9.4.5 on a Server 2003 Terminal Server.
When users try to print PDF files they first get the following error:
The Document Could Not be Printer
    Next they get:
    No Pages Were Selected
I have checked some web articles and the sguuestions were to apply the latest updates or to print the files as an image.
I already have the latest updates and the print as an image did not work
Can anyone make any other suggestions?
    Thank you.

Having the exact same issues hear.  Haven't been able to find a fix for it anywhere.  It has the be the last update.  Going to check if I can roll back to the previous update.

  • Copying tables in pdf's to excel in Acrobat Standard 7.0.8

    Hi there
I am having problems copying tables of numbers from pdf's into excel in Acrobat Standard 7.0.8. I am finding that when I select data in a table, right-click, and select 'Copy As Table', only about 50% of the time will the data be pasted correctly into appropriate rows and columns in Excel. The rest of the time the all of the data is pasted into a single cell making it impossible to work with.
I have tried various permutations of the settings under Edit > Preferences > General > Selection for 'Text Selection Margin' and 'Column Selection Margin', although have never found anything that fixes the problem.
The unusual thing is that I used to have Acrobat version 5, in which copying data from pdf's to excel used to work *perfectly*.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this feature in version 7? Your thoughts much appreciated. Thanks.
    LK

It only copies correctly if you have a table that was created with the proper markup. It sounds like some of the tables you have appear to be tables, but are missing the markup. As I understand the process in the current Acrobat versions, you will not be able to create the fields correctly in that case.
With AA5 (or maybe it was AA6), you could select a column much like selecting a graphic. That is no longer available, but would have met your need. Bill

  • Text Edit Tool icon missing in Acrobat Standard X

    Hi,
In Acrobat 8 Standard, when I click "Text Edit Tool" icon, I can start insert, delete or replce text comments without re-click any  "insert", "delete" or "replace" icon in the Text Edit Tool until I press"Esc" key.
I just install Acrobat Standard X these days, It moved the commenting annotation to the right panel with those fancy icons.  Looks great!  However, I have to click on the "Insert", "delete" or "replace" icon on every action.  I am wondering if Acrobat remove the great feature or I am missing something?
p.s.  Just found ouy it is called "Text Correction Markup" in Acrobat Reader XI.  I can't image paid Acroabat Standard X has less feature than Acrobat Reader XI.  Hopefully, Adobe can have a Update to add the "accidentally removed" feature back to Standard X.
    Thanks

Is there no response from Adobe? It's a serious issue that this useful tool was removed (or hidden?) in Adobe X.
I use Acrobat for collaboration for much of my work, and it's a significant burden to have to click on each tool individually.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 10 download

I have a license for Adobe Acrobat Standard X but no media (this is a new Dell computer).  I've looked all over the site and I get directed to Adobe Acrobat Pro X to download. I tried downloading Pro X and using my license but that failed since it's only a license for Acrobat Standard.
If someone could please direct me to the location for Acrobat Standard 10 download I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!

Same question here.  I'm all about saving the planet by not providing media--except when it is also used opportunistically to help augment sales of the upstream products (in this case, Acrobat Pro, which I'm sure will be the end result of this being so obfuscating, at least for many ... nothing like good, old fashioned trickery to drive sales!).
As a sidenote/editorial on this:  Kudos to Microsoft, as they have recently really loosened the reigns with locking serial numbers to specific versions of core software (e.g., Windows, Office)--and also have begun providing easily located download locations for these products that are available to the public.  Without a serial number, you picka version and run a trial.  Want to activate one?  No problem--pop the serial number/product number in for the version you own, and bang!  You activate the version you have a license for.  It's not rocket science, but it is progress--and it punishes paying customers far less than these earlier practices of hiding media/downloads and serial locking used to.
Anyway, the card for Adobe Acrobat X Standard we received simply says:
    DO NOT DISCARD
this card includes the serial number for Adobe Acrobat X Standard.  Keep this card in a safe place.  you will need the serial number to reinstall the software.
    http://www.adobe.com/support
    [Something in Spanish]
    [Something in German]
    Product Serial Number
The flip side has UPC / SKU information.
So let me see if I missed any of the proposed solutions offered so far, none of which (it seems to me) offer any type of workable solution whatsoever:
Download the Pro version instead, or the updates for the software you don't have, using the first link proposed.  Problem:  You can't install/activate the Standard software using the available Pro download, and the updates don't install the software.
Contact Adobe.  Problem:  You didn't buy the software from them, ergo, it's not their problem, and they probably won't help you.
Oh, for crying out loud, you're still buying software, why don't you just download cracked versions like smart people?  Problem:  It's an interesting proposition, but not really workable in a business environment.
    Did I miss any?
I called Dell Pro Support the day we received the first system like this.  Why?  One day, I know I will need it, and won't have the time to deal with it when we do.  Call me crazy ... I guess I'm a planner.
Quick as a flash, Dell's suggestions were as follows:
Rev. 1:  "Just download it."  This is such an elegant solution!  I don't know why I had not thought of this before.  Only a fool couldn't figure out instructions so crisp, clean, and elegant.  One snag--I'm apparently a fool, but smart enough to know I'm a fool, so I pointed out that I need some more specific information than that.
Rev. 2:  "Download it from Adobe's site."  This is even better.  I love specific, foolproof solutions like "use [their] website"!  The web is just dripping with awesome!!  And with only (conservatively) a trillion odd webpages out there, you can find anything!  One pointed problem though:  fools (like me) have problems sifting through all those pesky pages, especially finding software that isn't available to download.  Still, it feels we're making progress.  I protest my foolishness yet again to the support technician ... maybe we could guide my foolish fingers through the process of finding something as obvious as "... Adobe's site."
Rev. 3:  "You can download it from CNET's Download.com site"  This was very exciting news.  Apart from one thing--they do (unbeknownst to me, but apparently knownst to Dell) offer a download of Acrobat 9 Standard.  Actually something I did *not* already know, but as a certified fool, I deem the process of using an Acrobat X Standard serial number to activate a downloaded copy of Acrobat 9 Standard too prone to failure, so we continue ...
Rev. 4: "Well, you'll have to contact Adobe for help with this, we are just the reseller."  As a fool who has been on this treadmill before, I explain that Adobe's support is trained to quickly spot and root out fools like me the instant we call.  They use trickery like, "You'll have to contact the OEM for support on this software.  If they truly run out of options, they can internally escalate and contact our product support team directly."  At this point, I thank the technician emphatically for his earnest efforts at helping someone so foolish with such a silly problem as not being able to reinstall the software he paid for with his shiny new 'puter.  I'm sure there are far more pressing issues than dealing with the likes of me.  After thanking him, I confirmed the technician's name, and asked for the case number again, so that if (i.e., when) Adobe explained how they may not be able to help a fool who bought this software via an OEM bundle, and that I would have to go back to the OEM for help with this, I could quickly reference the case #, and escalate the issue for a more workable solution.  As I said, I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time.  Apparently, this triggered a though on the other end ...
Rev. 5: "Do you mind if I place you on hold while I research this a minute?"  So after about 15 more minutes on hold, the technician at least came back with a conclusion of, "I'm not sure, and neither is our internal team I have immediate access to.  We are reaching out internally to our product support team for Adobe products and they are going to have to get in touch with our internal contacts at Adobe.  We'll call you back."
    So stay tuned.
Rev. 6: "Apparently, this just got SKU'd in our system about a week ago, and the software ISN'T AVAILABLE yet ... we are going to have physical media and will be able to send it to you ... there may be a download site available at some point, just not right now"   I'm skeptical this will end up being a media solution--it seems that they will eventually provide a download link or some way of registering/linking the serial number on the card with an online account with Adobe, in order to facilitate downloads in the future.
By my count, including the earlier attempts others have made at solving this, this makes about 9 well thought out, proven, and tested solutions to such a silly problem.  We are still waiting on one that is foolproof though ... if only I were more technically apt, I'm sure one of the others offered herein would have solved this for me by now.  Yet I continue to wait ...

  • I am unable to download Adobe Acrobat Standard from the cloud says the "Adobe Acrobat is not currently available for your language or platform." I am running Vista and using Chrome

I just subscribed to Adobe Acrobat Standard from the cloud. I am running microsoft Vista and Google Chrome browser. I get the error message Adobe Acrobat is not currently available for your language or platform. For a list of supported platforms and languages: and I believe I meet the Vista requirements. How do I resolve this issue?

LorettaKallen are you trying to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 11 utilizing the Adobe Application Manager?  Do you receive the same error message if you use Internet Explorer or Firefox?

  • How do I customize Adobe Acrobat Standard DC or Adobe Acrobat Pro DC to do what I'd like?  Actually this a multiple-question inquiry.

Note, I was unable to find a "How TO", Tutorial, or FAQ relevant to the following questions.
For instance, how do I easily append to an existing PDF with minimum clicks (which I could do with an earlier version of Acrobat Standard)?
I'm using a 30-day trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC to scan documents and in certain situations, append to existing PDFs.
I'd prefer to trial the Adobe Acrobat Standard vs. Pro DC because that's what I intend to purchase.  I'd prefer to not get accustomed to Pro if Standard is very different.
    1.  After selecting Edit > Preferences and specifying certain defaults, most take effect as suspected but some do not, like the one's I'm going to elaborate on below.  Why?
    2. Alternatively, is there a Tool or a way to create a local customized Profile and default to that Profile to avoid having to repeat the following steps?
This should not be confused with the online Profile (or Communities Profile) whereby one states one's Name etc.
    File
    > Create
       > PDF from scanner
         > Custom scan
           > Color Mode: Black and White
           > Append to existing file
             > Browse
               > Select file
                 > Scan
This is a cumbersome task to repeat each time I'm ready to scan.  Using an earlier version of Acrobat Standard, I'd simply double-click the PDF I wished to append to,
Acrobat would default to the appropriate scanner, and know that I wished to append to an existing file without me having to select that option.  Presently it doesn't appear to be that easy/simple.
Perhaps it is (or can be with guidance).  Please assist.
    3. Please find attached the following snapshots/images... CORRECTION, IF ADOBE SUPPORT CONTACTS ME ABOUT THIS, I'LL GLADLY FORWARD SCREENSHOTS.
Meaning, there does not appear to be a way to include screenshots on Forums.
3a See Error.  Is there a way to get a more accurate description of the error (i.e., turn on debugging etc.)?
3b When Creating a PDF, the prompts still seen after clicking "Configure Presets" and changing Color Mode from AutoDetect to Black and White.  Why?
3c Custom Scan Input, where I changed Color Mode from AutoDetect to Black and White and why I must also tell Acrobat to append AND to browse to a pre-defined default location?
    4. Must I be "Logged in" to use the product?  The first time launching it, I was prompted to login using the credentials used to create the account and download the product.  Now when using the product it appears to be automatically "Logged in" or online.  I would prefer to use it in an "offline mode" if there is such a thing.
    5. Once the product is purchased, what are my support options?  Can questions be answered or issues resolved with a phone call or are they limited to the Acrobat Forum(s) and/or Adobe Communities?  Even after clicking "Ready to contact us?  Start here." I'm only given the Forum option (over and over) vs. Chat vs. Email Support etc.
If I've posted these inquiries to the wrong Forum or Discussion, if prudent, please collectively relocate them.  Regardless, please advise.  Thanks!

  • Unable to save a document after signing it in Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.

I have a user who is unable to save .PDF files that he is opening in Outlook via an embedded link in the email.
When he clicks on the link, Acrobat opens the document without issue. However, when he applies his signature and goes to save it over the existing document on our internal network file server, he gets the following message: "The document could be saved. The disk you were saving to or the disk used for temporary files is full. Free some space on this disk and try again, or save to a different disk."
The network drive has a significant amount of space available, at least 500 gigs.
This was not an issue up until Friday of last week. Prior to Friday, he had no issue signing documents emailed to him that contained a embedded link pointing back to the file on our internal network file server.  If I have him browse directly to the file in Windows Explorer however, he can open sign the document and overwrite the existing copy.  While that works, I would like him to regain the ability to save his file after opening it from his email; as unless I show him how to get to the file directly via Explorer, he is unable to do so. (And he has to sign many documents a day as well)
Other users on my network are not encountering this issue, however some are running a different mix of Office and Acrobat. (Such as Office 2010  and Acrobat X, etc)
I've researched this issue for prior versions of Acrobat and tried to applied the same resolutions for this issue without a positive result. So far I have been unable to find any solutions for this issue dealing with XI.
Has anyone else run ino this issue with Acrobat Standard XI? If so what did you do to resolve the issue? Thank you for any help that you can give me.
Here is the basic setup that his computer is running:
    Windows 7 Profesional 64 bit
    Microsoft Office 2013 Professional
    Adobe Acrobat Standard XI
    Internet Explorer 9
Also my user is has full Admin rights to his workstation and has the appropriate security rights to the folders he is trying to save the signed document to.

I would like to confirm the exact same message is happening with us.
Several users have been receiving the error message shown below when trying to save PDF’s to their desktop or other server.
We are experiencing the issue with earlier versions of Acrobat (8 & 9) as well.
This is only started happening this week?

  • Acrobat Standard 6.0 Set as Default Viewer, but Browser is looking for Adobe Reader 8 or 9

    All,
I use Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0 for viewing and creating PDF's.  Just a couple of days ago, I tried opening a patent document I found on Google.  The browser displayed the following error:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.  Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.  Please exit and try again."
So I looked for an update for Adobe Reader and downloaded Adobe Reader 9.1.2.
The next PDF document that I opened came up in Adobe Reader....NOT Adobe Acrobat.  The installation must have changed the default viewer.  So I right-clicked on the PDF file icon and selected OPEN WITH Adobe Acrobat.  I clicked the checkbox to "Always open with this program..."  This seems to have fixed the default viewer problem, as PDF files now open with Adobe Acrobat Standard...just the way I want things to work.
I still have the problem of not being able to open many documents within a browser...I think because the browser is looking to open the PDF files in Adobe Reader 9.1.2, NOT Acrobat 6.0.  But Adobe Acrobat is now the default viewer.
Does Acrobat function independently of Reader?  Or is Reader a module that is required for Acrobat to function properly?  Whatever the case may be, can somebody suggest a fix for this problem?
    Thanks,
    Neal
    [email address deleted by host]

They do not require each other for running as mentioned. There are some modules in common and that is where you run into problems. There are issues with the parts that remain resident also. I would suggest you follow the other advice you have been given. Unfortunately, there are some PDFs that may not open correctly in AA6. You may have run into some of those.

  • Bring back PDF Portfolio option to Acrobat Standard!

We are refreshing some department computers with newer models through Dell.  These new computers come with Adobe Acrobat X Std on them.  This works fine for most people until today.  Our one department had their older XP computers replaced with new Win 7 machines and Adobe Acrobat X standard.  They were dependant on a feature to right click on a bunch of PDFs and combine them.  They need the portfolio option because a regular combine will overwrite values in forms because "they have the same name".  This worked fine on the OLD machines with Adobe 9.5 Standard.
So on the new computers with Acrobat X Standard, this portfolio option is gone!  This is needed for their job!
Now I am scrambling to deactivate and uninstall X standard from the new computers ,and deactivate and uninstall 9.5 from the old ones.  Using Belarc Advisor to obtain the product key, I can reinstall it on the new computers, along with running all the umpteen patches to get 9.0 back up to the latest version.  Not only that but the right click context menu is gone, so I had to research that and find the command to get it back -> regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat Elements\ContextMenu64.dll"
After doing some research it seems you have to spend extra money on a X or XI "professional" version, just to get a feature that was included in 9 STANDARD.  Shopping around the best price I could find was over at NewEgg for $120.  Multiple that by the people who need it, were looking at good amount of money to get back a single feature we had before!
So were going right back to Acrobat 9 standard because it does what we need it to do.  My plea to adobe is to bring back the portfolio feature!  Either that or don't screw up the contents of forms in a standard combine!
Is this the latest trend that new versions of software are designed to take away features or functionality that people depend on?  I mean even Windows 8 takes away the start menu (I know there's freeware to get it back).  Please don't stoop to Microsoft's level and remove thign's people depend on.

We are also going through some of the issues with Acrobat standard being gutted. In acrobat 9 standard we have some processes that used a function called "Export Multiple Files.." This allowed you function through a wizard to select as many files of many file types as you wanted and export them to a ton of file formats. I use this on a daily basis and now i am being told it is not available in the standard version. If i buy the PRO version it is available, but what will keep Adobe from from removing this from the Next version of PRO and call that PLATNUM or somthing. This not the way to treat long time customer who pay for and have developed many process using the tool. It is also sad to learn that Portfolio option is no longer available. We will have to go back to 9 until they figure this out. What a massive screw up.
