Acrobat (Standard/Pro) subscription only?

Trying to purchase a standalone license of Acrobat standard.  I have no interest in a subscription license.  In fact in my case it would not work as the systems I need to install the license on are not allowed to be connected to any network or access the Internet.  Does Adobe no longer offer direct purchases of standalone licenses?

    I have an occasional need to convert PDFs to either Word or Excel. Are there options to do this other than buying Acrobat Standard/Pro? Maybe something like a standalone conversion utility or a conversion on demand service. I would prefer not to shell out  a bunch of cash. My wife and son have bled all of that out of me anyways.

    Yes, there are alternatives. You can subscribe to Adobe's ExportPDF service, for example, which lets you just convert from PDF files to other formats.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard/Pro freezing when opening large PDF documents

    Ok, I have a tough one. Adobe Acrobat X Standard/Pro keeps freezing when opening large documents that exceed approx. 50 pages. These PDF documents contain large images and graphs for mining purposes, but no links. The issue impacts multiple users on multiple laptops/desktops. We have tried the following:
    - Uninstalling/re-installing Adobe Acrobat
    - Disabling Enhanced Security in Acrobat Preferences
    - Resetting local user profiles
    - Changing Reading Preferences to view current visible pages only
    - Installing Adobe Acrobat XI
    This issue has only occurred after upgrading users to a Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit Operating System.
    The only possible solution I have managed to find is changing a registry key that permanently disables the Enhanced Security options in Acrobat. This solution however, only worked on brand new user profiles. Resetting user profiles throughout our entire company is not something we are even going to consider.
    If anyone would like more information that I have missed, please feel free to ask.

    Another possibility to check is the free space in the TEMP folder. I believe Acrobat uses the TEMP folder for temporary storage. You might even consider increasing the size of the TEMP folder. At least this is something else to check.

    Trying to install Acrobat XI Pro on D: drive, but no option to redirect the install when downloading.  Anyone find an option.

    Thanks ... but I was just using the download function after purchasing the subscription.  Once running the .exe file it would begin the install directing it to the C: drive.  After some thought I tried a different approach which worked ... I downloaded the trial version of Acrobat XI Pro and found that it allows you to direct the install to a specific drive and folder.  After going through this process I just activitated the subscription.  A round about way to solve the problem, but it worked.

    I took out a 12 month subscription 25 February 2013 and have been using X1 Pro successfully, up until today when suddenly can no longer open X1 Pro but get screen msg stating "Your trial has expired". I never had this software on trial but elected to pay monthly subscritions which are current and up to date (always have been). Most frustrating, any ideas as to what might be going on, or how I can progress towards a satisfactory solution? Any help/suggestions appreciated. I'm a retiree, doing volunteer computer work at home for my golf club and rely on Acrobat X1 Pro for preparing our club programme.

    ich überlege mir entweder Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, oder die Pro Variante zu kaufen.
    Leider ist auf der Adobe Seite für mich nicht klar ersichtlich, welche  Version meinen Ansprüchen genügt. Auch hier im Supportforum habe ich irgendwie noch keine klare Antwort gewunden.
    Ich möchte PDF Dateien so bearbeiten können, dass ich einfache Seiten  löschen kann, bzw. neue hinzufügen. Eventuell an der ein oder anderen  Stelle Text ergänzen oder löschen, oder falls möglich, Markierungen  setzen (z.B. Pfeile oder Rahmen).
    Ist das (auch letzteres) mit der Standard Version möglich?
    Würde mich mich über eure Hilfe freuen!

    Was ist daran jetzt nicht verständlich? Unabhängig davon, geht alles, was du willst mit Standard und Kommentare gehen selbst mit Adobe Reader, sofern das Dokument dafür freigegeben ist. Aber beachten: Das ist kein Officeprogramm! Seiten löschen und Text ändern hat nix mit automatischem Textfluss zu tun, das sind reine Korrekturfeatures.

  • Why is exported file coming up read-only in Adobe Acrobat 9 pro?

    Hi. Would appreciate  whatever help anyone can give me. I spent the last 2-3 weeks  working on a scientific poster for my brother, who is a doctor. I did  the work in Adobe.com and came to the realization I was not going to be  able to save it outside the program, since it is a trial.
    However,  I chanced across the Export command and exported it into Adobe Acrobat 9  Pro. Only problem is it is now a read-only file. I can't manipulate the  text. The poster is going to be about 3' X 3' and right now it has been  formatted for 8 1/2" X 11" pages. I think the Fed Ex folks are going to  need some editing power.
    So,  does anyone know if I can change this document to be edited? Or if it can be edited? Tried  saving to a thumb drive, but that didn't work either.
    (Please  help me! This Adobe site is so complicated it is driving me mad!)

    I have a current Acrobat XI Pro subscription. When I'm not connected to the internet,
    Acrobat Pro will not open, and instead I get the pop-up telling my my Acrobat XI Pro Trial has expired.
    How do I fix this so I can use Acrobat Pro when offline?

    I have an annual subscription, paid monthly. No it doesn't happen all the time when I'm offline, but I can't discern a pattern. Your phone-in helpdesk got me to go on-line and "licence" the software again by logging in to my account. This has worked - but I've done this before and the problem has come back. So for the time being the product is working again when I'm off-line.

  • Sharepoint server synch for Tracker not happening since upgrade to Acrobat 9 Pro

    Hi,
    I have a user that is unable to share his comments and see updates in Tracker using Acrobat 9 Pro.  There is a warning on Server status that says "some workflows are in error."  It seems that synchronization is with the server is failing, though his connection to the network is otherwise solid.  User can go to the server and go to the folder and open the PDF folder without any issues, but synchronization with server within Acrobat 9 Pro Tracker is failing.  He can join reviews, but is unable to see other reivewers comments and can not see any of the other 8 reviewers listed, he can only see himself and the initiator.
    I did verify that the initator and all reviewers are also using Acrobat 9 Pro.  Only this one reviewer is having issues, everyone else is ok.
    The issue started to happen after user was upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro. We did try a repair in add\remove programs, but this did not help.  I am wondering if there is anything on the backend, somewhere that needs to be changed.  User did go into a few other Shared Reviews on the Sharepoint server and was able to see 5 reviewers.
    Here are my questions:
    1. Is there some sort of unique identifier that needs to be changed?
    2. Can the initiator delete this one reviewer and then add him back, and would that possibly solve the issue?

    On the page mentioned above you need to click on 'Buy Now' at the right hand side as shown in the screenshot below :
    After that you will see this screen :
    Click on 'Subscription' drop-down and select 'Upgrade', The other dropdown menus will be updated accordingly and you need to select 'I own' as 'Acrobat 9 Pro,
    Platform and Language accordingky.
    Then you can 'Add to cart' and checkout.
