Acrobat Standard XI key verification problem

There is not an option to select Acrobat Standard XI to verify the product key.  I read some other posts related to this.  I bought the program from the website.  I have never purchased a program from adobe before now.  I have downloaded reader in the past.  I'm also not horribly knowledgeable with all of this so simple fix suggestions are best,  Thanks!

As "Test Screen Name" have said correctly this is verification steps to check upgrade eligibility.
Which means you have purchased Acrobat  XI standard as Upgrade from the previous version. It is looking for the serial number for the previous version you own.

  • Having problems download Adobe Acrobat Standard using dell digital delivery.

The dell digital delivery and the dell website are both giving us problems. We have the serial/product key but just need a reliable place to download and activate the application from.  Is there anyway to download a trial version of Adobe Acrobat Standard and then activate the install with the serial key we have?

  • Acrobat Standard 9.1.2 update problem?

I'm running Acrobat Standard 9 on Windows Vista Ultimate.
Right after installing the Acrobat 9.1.2 update, but before restarting my system, I tried to open a PDF file, and experienced cascading file openings, where Acrobat seemed to be trying to open every PDF file on my hard drive in a separate window. Each window header contains the statement: "Adobe Acrobat not responding." After shutting down Acrobat through Task Manager, I then restarted my system, thinking that the problem was a failure to complete the update installation, but when I just tried to start Acrobat (without trying to open any file), it automatically began opening multiple PDF files again.
At that point, I ran a restore to a previous Acrobat version, but did not restart my system. After the restore was complete, my desktop displayed two Acrobat startup icons, one for v9.1.2 and one for the previous version. I tried to start Acrobat by clicking the previous verion icon, but had the same problem with automatic multiple file openings. When I checked the software list in Control Panel, I found that it only contained v9.1.2, and not the supposedly restored version. Does anyone know if I had to restart my system to make the restore work?
When it looked like the restore to previous version had not worked, I did an Acrobat program repair through Control Panel, and restarted my system, but when I tried to start Acrobat, the same problem occurred. Every time it occurs, I have to shut down Acrobat through Task Manager.
I never experienced this problem until I installed the 9.1.2 update. Has anyone else experienced problems with this update? Does anyone here know the cause of the automatic multiple file opening problem?

As far as I'm concerned, there is something screwy about this whole release.  I have used Acrobat Standard since v4.0, and was forced to buy v8 or v9 when I upgraded my OS to Vista, so I chose v9.  However, the most important feature to me (besides converting other documents to PDF files), something called FreeText, was replaced by something now called Typewriter.  Unfortunately, where FreeText was intuitive and seamless, I cannot view the result of a Typewriter session in my document, after entering new text and closing the feature.  On top of that, Adobe tech support seems to have gotten less accessible over the years.
This new problem has now rendered my Acrobat program completely unusable, and for some reason, Adobe's Internet support contact form doesn't even interact with my inputs.  This forum has proved useless to me for any problem-solving.  Anybody from Adobe Engineering listening?

  • Problem with recent Acrobat Standard subscription and opening up PDF's

After doing a 1-month trial for Adobe XI Pro, I completed online purchase yesterday (11/8/14) for annual subscription for Adobe Standard.
And now I can no longer open or read any PDFs on my computer. A prompt comes up that trial period has ended and I need to subscribe (which I have done). I did not expect this and am very frustrated. Is there a lag time for processing the subscription, or is this something related to updates of  older version Adobe? I have Windows Vista.

    Hi create shortcut,
Acrobat XI isn't supported on Windows Vista, so that could be what the problem is (see Tech specs | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro). Although, it sounds like you were using Acrobat Pro XI on Vista, is that correct?
Your subscription is indeed, active. So, you should be able to simply sign in and use Acrobat Standard (but know that Adobe can't support any technical issues that might arise when using it on an unsupported OS).
    Best,
    Sara

  • Updating problem of acrobat standard to 8.1.3.

I tried to update my acrobat standard 8 to 8.1.3. The installation progress was stuck. I terminated the installation and tried again. This time, I received a message saying the installation failed.
    What can I do?

Have you installed the previous updates? The updates usually have to be installed in order.

  • Problems sending comments in Acrobat Standard X

I am using a Dell laptop running Windows 7 64 bit OS and Outlook 2010. We use Acrobat Standard X to stamp approvals on PDFs (that are sent as attachments to an email) and then use "Send Comments" to send back to the person that orignated the email. On this one laptop the process had been working correctly. To correct some errors in another program with sending email on this machine, I ran the fixmapi.exe command from a command prompt (this did fix those errors).
Immediately after this the user reported that when that click on the "Send Comments" button in Acrobat, we are now receving the error : Acrobat is unable to connect to your email program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

So, my understanding is that the Portfolio option isn't available in Standard.  Are there any workarounds to accomplish this in Standard, such as saving the documents in another format?  Or is our only option to bite the bullet and purchase Pro?

There were problems with IE9 on it's initial release and that may be what you are seeing if that is the browser (you did not indicate the browser and that may be a key). If you have a different browser you might try that one with the same pages to see if it browser related.
By saying garbled it sounds like the fonts did not make it or you have selected "Use Local Fonts" in Acrobat. Try checking the latter first. Then check if the fonts are embedded in the PDF by checking the document properties (ctrl-D). If they are not, go back to the browser and select the press or print job options before printing and see if they get embedded and if your problem is resolved.

  • Acrobat Standard Trial?

Travelling for a month. Chose this time to install Windows 7. Since was Pro over Vista Home Premium had to do full install. So lost installed version Acrobat Standard 9.0. Have license key in email.
Thought no problem can download the Acrobat 9.0 Pro 30 day trial and use that until I get home but the nagware screen comes up way to often.
Is there a 9.0 Standard trial I can apply my license key to or another way to get an install set by download of 9.0 standard?
    Thanks,
    Jay

I believe that they only offer trials of Pro and Extended.

  • Suddenly getting DEP shutdowns in Acrobat Standard 8.3.1

I have a Dell M90 running Vista Business SP2 that originally had Acrobat Standard 8.0 pre-installed; with applied maintenance it is now at 8.3.1. The latest files in the Acrobat update folder were dated 8/30/2011.
Last week, probably, after some failed Microsoft updates on 09/14/2011 (which have since been successfully applied), I started getting DEP shutdows of Acrobat Standard. This initially occurred when viewing a PDF in IE9, so I thought it was probably just a bad document. But it occurred again this week, and I've now found that it happens every time I run Acrobat (or the plugin), even when running it from the start menu wiith no document open. It stayed open just long enough for me to do "Help...About" to check the version number, and to check for updates (it said none were available).
The specific message I get is:
A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard cannot continue.
Please reinstall the application and try again.
Unfortunately, I can't find any acrobat media and can't find an installer anywhere on the machine. On the download site I saw plenty of updates and trial versions of newer software, but no full-product installer for 8.x. I downloaded and ran the 8.3.1 update, but the problem still occured.
Wait - while looking to see if I could recover my license key I saw the "Repair..." option. I just ran that, and while it looked like it was going to simply reapply the 8.3.1 update, it shut down the acrotray and is now asking me to reboot (neither of which occurred when I ran the update), so perhaps it is doing something more. If this resolves the problem I'll update this thread.

In short, Acrobat is now working again. But some interesting things happened.
During the restart, I saw a "phase 3 of 3 - do not shut down your computer" message. Usally I see this after windows updates, but I had already rebooted after reapplying the windows updates. Note that I'd walked away at the time so I can't confirm whether it displayed then, but Windows Update did show that those updates were successful. I assume that Windows emits that for any updates queued for processing during startup.
After the reboot I got a warning that my network drives could not be reconnected. I see this occasionally, and it means my WPA2 wireless didn't connect properly; usually a disable/enable fixes this, but sometimes another reboot is needed. When I ran Acrobat it popped up a dialog indicating it couldn't connect with the registration server so I closed it and eventually did have to reboot again.
When I ran Acrobat after that reboot it started normally, and in the About display it now shows my license key where previously it had only shown my name and company name. Curiously, though, both the "Activate" and "Deactivate" menu choices are now disabled where previously the "Deactivate" item was enabled (indicating successful activation) even though it didn't show a license key.
So is it possibe the "serious error" was related to a licensing problem? If so, the message should state this explicitly since there was probably a much simler path to recovery.
Perhaps someone from Adobe can comment on what state the app was in when the error occurred, and how it got that way. In any case, if you get this error, try the Repair option first. And write down your license key just in case...

    Hi Timothy,
The account cannot be validated error was due to a glitch on our activation server that has been fixed now.
Please try using acrobat now and check if you are still facing the problem.

  • Why does Acrobat Standard 6.0 recognize scanner but Pro 9 will not?

I am running both programs on an Intel Mac (same machine), 10.5.8 Progam.  My Acrobat Standard 6.0 pulls in the scanner immediately, but my Pro 9 will not recognize the scanner.  Is there something I have to do to get the Pro 9 to recognize the same scanner?
