Acrobat v8 not working

We are using Version Cue CS3 and everything is working great except for Acrobat 8. When we are using the Adobe Dialog box in Acrobat the Cue does not display any Projects. I do have Version Cue turned on in the preferences. The VC icon displays, but no project displayed. All other CS3 apps are working fine, Indesign, Photoshop, etc...
Am I missing something? is there another button I'm suppose to have turned on?

Unfortunately, complete removal via uninstaller still alludes the world of Reader on the Mac
I understand. It's for that reason I use PDF Browser Plug-in. Unfortunately, it's not Universal. When it eventually goes Intel native, I encourage you to consider using it.

I had not thought of that.  I will try to install it using compatibility mode on one of our systems and see if that solves the problem.
    Thank you very much.

How do I activate Acrobat XPro- I've installed CS6 Premium on my computer and Acrobat does not work and says its not activated. It is listed on the programs on the computer but will not respond. How do I fix this?????? Help Adobe?????

    Hi t0m#2410,
How did you install Acrobat, did you install it as a part of Suite installation.
If it is a part of suite then deactivate suite uninstall Acrobat, Reinstall Acrobat using Suite media. Launch Photoshop first and Activate.
    Then try launch Acrobat.

  • Why does Acrobat suddenly not work on my Mac (won't open pdf files from a web page), yet I can open them from my iPhone? Everything worked fine yesteray.

    Hello:
I have a Mac running OS 10.8.5 and I use Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader. Today for some reason, any time I try and access a pdf file from a web page, it won't open. I get a blank window. PDF files already on my computer open fine and I can create PDF files from Word docs, but I can't download or view any pdf file from any web page. Strangely, PDF files on web pages open just fine on my iPhone.
I checked that both my copy of Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader are up-to-date. They are.
I checked that my copy of Firefox is up-to-date. It is. And nothing changed with Firefox within the last 24 hours.
I am a humble computer end-user. I am baffled as to why this would suddenly not work. I have not changed any settings, etc. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
I checked your instructions you sent and as far as I can tell all of my settings, etc for Firefox (plugin updates and preferences) are correct but I am having the same problem.
However, everything works in Safari. I don't have time to attempt to diagnose why Firefox no longer works. I will just switch to Safari.
    Many thanks.

  • Adobe Clip Notes in Acrobat Reader Not Working

I am having an issue with acrobat reader not processing the clip notes correctly.  In Acrobat Reader 9.1 the clip notes do not process and save with the time line.  All notes are placed in one box and are not saved intividually with the time line code.  The export option button is there but does not work.  This is happening not only for my customer but for me as well using a computer with only Acrobat Reader installed..  (9.1)
So there seems to be an issue with Acrobat Reader and clip notes... It works fine on my system with Acrobat Pro installed but from my understaning, it should work with Acrobat Reader as well..
Any help would be appreciated.. I lost my connection to support..  I was on the phone and it went dead and no one has called back yet..
I am using all CS4 producst (Master Collection)  So this is being exported to .pdf by Premier Pro CS4

I am having this problem with a slew of users as well.  I have followed all of the steps in Adobe KB article 405461 and while one solution in this resolve the problem (using reader as a helper program instead of opening PDF files directly within the browser) with the error message it caused problems with other web applications that we use.  Has anyone else figured out how to get Adobe reader to work within IE?  I have to think there was something included in the last batch of Windows Updates because it was working fine prior to that.
    Thanks.

  • Printing with overprints in Acrobat X not working-

I have been trying to print PDFs to a laser printer trying to get Overprints to show up as they do in the PDF with the overprint preview on. I ended up opening them in Acrobat 9 and printing to image. This was what I used to do in Acrobat 9 to get the overprints to show up on my print outs. This seems to no longer work in Acrobat X. As much as I tried I could not get the PDF to print as shown when the overprint preview was turned on using the Advanced > Print as Image checked in the print dialog.
What is the deal with Acrobat X? What am I missing? Did Adobe do this to make life hard for all users of previous versions of Acrobat? It worked then and not now what's different?!?

Some laser printers have a setting, usually under "Advanced" called Simulate Overprinting. That works for me without printing as an image.

  • Acrobat Pro not working in Office Word 2003

    Hi!
Im having troubles with my Acrobat Pro 9.0 in office 2003.
The Acroat plugins in word are not working, the "acrobat-PDF" button is not working at all, when i select or press something in the dropdown menu nothing happens. the workaround on saving my files is to go to File > print as a PDF document.
After i finish typing my document and add a few links to webpages and "mailto" links and save/print it to a PDF file, some of the links work and other dont.
So does anyone know how i can get all my links to work? or even be able to use the "acrobat plugin/buttons" in the word program?
The guy on suport phone told me its a setting problem that needs to be adjusted.
    TY in advance / Nkla

    Nikola,
Have you checked the properties of the Adobe PDF printer in your Printers and Faxes menu? You may need to make some changes regarding the settings here.

  • Acrobat Distiller not working

I recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.5 and am using Acrobat 7.0 Professional. Since upgrading, a great majority of the files I try to convert to ps are not converting (a vast variety of error messages) and therefore cannot create a pdf file using this method. None of my settings have been changed. I am wondering if Acrobat 7 compatible with OS 10.5 and is there a way to work around this? Acrobat 6 Professional works just fine with the new system.

Acrobat 7 is not compatible with 10.5. In fact neither is 8, you need to
upgrade to 8.1 for some level of compatibility.

  • Acrobat does not work after one month

Recently I reinstalled OS in my computer, of course with installation of Adobe CS6. and the acrobat stopped to work after about one month while photoshop and others work as usual. I would sincerely appreciate if someone could tell me how to fix it.

    Hey claudes1837819,
Could you please let me know what version of OS are you using.
For Windows, you might refer the KB doc link mentioned below:
Doesn't launch after 30 days | Installed as part of a CS6 suite
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Acrobat Pro Not Working after Latest Update to Snow Leopard

After getting the latest update for Snow Leopard I get the following when Acrobat tries to boot:
    Process:         AdobeAcrobat [157]
    Path:            /Applications/Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/AdobeAcrobat
    Identifier:      com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro
    Version:         9.0.0 (9.0.0)

    OS Version:      Mac OS X 10.6.3 (10D573)
There is more after this but the summary is that it doesn't boot. Is anyone having this problem also? And if so how did you fix it.? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat but with no success.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply. However how can you upgrade when the program won't boot? I tried downloading again from Adobe but the version that comes over is 9.0. Is there anyway to force a load? Or anyway for Adobe to push me 9.3.1?
    Regards,
    David
First try removing preference  and or .plist files for Acrobat. Then when you get working try this tip below that might help when you update the application and it fails.
I've come across this in these forums That may or may not solve the update issue for "some" people:

see if you think. it helps.

  • Acrobat printer not working

I have Acrobat Pro Vers 9..2 installed onto a Windows XP platform.
When selecting the print option from any application (eg Word)
Adobe PDF appears in the list of avavilable printers, however
when it's selected the "print" command button is then disabled.
So the pdf 'printer' appears to be installed but the 'print' command
    can't be selected.
Other printers (laserjet etc) that are installed
all work fine - it's only the pdf file I can't print...
    Any help appreciated. Thank-you.

    Thanks for the input!
The upgrade to 8.1.6 did solve the problem. Acrobat still works poorly, but at least the PDF Maker works quite fine.
Nevertheless, it's really too bad that Adobe requires you to purchase a full (and considerably expensive) upgrade for Win7 support. Adobe 8 is not that old so that it would require updating.

  • PDF made in Acrobat, Buttons not working right in Reader

I made a PDF presentation for a client and he is using a PC to view it. When I open it on my MAC using Preview the buttons work, it goes to whatever page I clicked on. He opened it on his PC using Reader and the buttons don't work. I also tried to view it in Reader on my MAC and they don't work either, only in Preview.
This is how I made the buttons:
Under Tools, I clicked on Interative Objects. Then Add Button. Then, Mouse Up, Go To Page View, then I added the page for each button.
Then when I save it as a PDF, I need to shrink down the file size, so I did : Save as PDF Optimizer, I didn't change much on the default for the settings. The Discard Objects Settings I only left the "Discard all alternate images" button checked.
The client sent me a sample of one that works and one that doesn't work. I opened them in Acrobat and I have buttons just like the one that works but I don't know if my saving settings are correct.
here is a link to the files that I made
    https://www.limoprinting.com/proofs/sample1.pdf
here is the sample the client sent me that works
    https://www.limoprinting.com/proofs/workingsample.pdf
I've never used Acrobat before, just photoshop, illistrator, indesign and dreamweaver so I'm sure I'm missing something, I appreciate any help anyone can give me . I also hope I'm clear in my descrition of the problem. Thank you!

By the way, do not ever save an interactive PDF with Preview and distribute it. Only work with the document within Acrobat. Preview causes all sorts of corruption. If you did save with Preview, don't bother trying to edit it in Acrobat and instead start from scratch if you don't have a copy as it was before it was saved with Preview.

  • CS4 Acrobat Key Not Working

I have a copy of CS4 that installed fine and all the apps like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc. are working fine, but Acrobat 9 will not take the software key I was given. When I open a PDF it asks me to first enter my password, then looks like it may be installing something, then prompts me for a serial number or to use the trial.
I haven't had a need to edit a PDF since I installed the software until now and had been viewing files in a browser...

Ok, here is some detail info of the issue:
    On my netbook: CPU=1.6ghz, RAM=2Gb, VGA=Intel500, SSD@60mb/s
    - Bridge cs3 = Hardware Render = impressive response time. [way beyond 30fps]
    - Bridge cs3 = Software Render  = <10fps
    - Bridge cs4 = Hardware Render = not available
    - Bridge cs4 = Software Render  = 2 or maybe 3fps (!!!) Its a huge diference!
Come on Adobe, a loot of computers are/will be shipping this graphic card!
Just release a patch for us. Or think about it on cs5.

  • Acrobat X not working with IE10

Recently upgraded my OS from WIN7 to WIN8. Acrobat X working OK stand-alone on my WIN8 64-bit system.
When called from IE10 to open a pdf document from a website, IE10 terminates with a "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message. Settings and add-ins appear to be OK.

Acrobat X works fine when launched stand-alone. Pdfs open as expected.
Acrobat being launched from IE-10 is where the problem occurs.
    Don't think I am using 32-bit IE-10, but how can I tell? I see no 32/64
designation one way or the other in "about IE-10". I just went to WIN8  a
week or so ago, and It is a WIN8 64-bit upgrade. Seems to me that that IE
version should be consistent with the Win8 version as a by-product of the
    upgrade.
AAX files, as I understand them, are audio files which I do not use.

  • Uninstall/Reinstall of Acrobat Pro not working

Acrobat Pro was malfunctioning. Every time I tried to search the file, it would crash. So I uninstalled it then tried to reinstall it, but Adobe Manager says it's up to date. I can't download and can't reinstall.

Sunday I uninstalled the program (I’m on the cloud) but couldn’t reinstall it. The launchpad said it was up to date, even though it was not on my system. So I downloaded and installed the 30-day trial version.
I had the exact same issues with the trial, so my technician figured it must be the preferences. He threw out all the old ones and the program worked flawlessly for 30 minutes. Then it would crash when I changed views by clicking and dragging. And about 15 minutes after that, it started crashing again when I tried to search. It also reverts to old preferences in the tools.
That may help you figure something out. I’m going to start over with troubleshooting again today.
