Acrobat V8 Pro - needing to make fillable Acrobat Reader forms

I get the form created in Design; but when I save it the form fields only display if I open it in Pro.
I am having trouble saving it into a PDF format that can be open in Adobe Reader with form fields display.
Can someone give me instructions.
Thx

  • Question re Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and distributing fillable PDFs

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro and created a fillable PDF (with a great deal of help from George Johnson!!). I now find out that because of licensing constrictions I can only send and receive 500 fillable PDFs (or maybe it's a total of 500 sent and received fillable PDFs, it's unclear to me). After doing some research it seems that Acrobat 9 Pro Extended comes with LiveCycle. Does that mean that I can send out and receive more than 500 fillable PDFs? I can't find any documentation and it's too late to call Adobe tech, so just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head. Thanks much.

    No.

Can I upgrade from Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows to Adobe Acrobat IX Pro for Mac?

    Hi Christian ,
I am not sure if you are eligible to upgrade from Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows to Adobe Acrobat IX Pro for Mac as this is an older version of Acrobat.

  • When I print to PDF using Acrobat 11 Pro from any application the acrobat Reader does not launch automatically. Associations are correct. Thx for your help,  Bruce

When I print to PDF using Acrobat 11 Pro from any application the acrobat Reader does not launch automatically. Associations are correct. Happens from Chrome, IE, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Previously had deskPDF installed but uninstalled correctly. Can't find a preference setting for the auto launch. Thx for your help,  Bruce

A simple way is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. You can do this with JavaScript or PDF Optimizer (Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects > Flatten form fields). A very nice script that adds a custom menu item can be found here: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

    Hi Bruce,
Please open registry by typing "regedit" in the Run window (Windows + R)
Now, navigate to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application and changing the Key from "AcroviewA10"  to  "AcroviewR10.
Now, try launching Acrobat and let me know if the issue resolves.

  • My registered version of Acrobat 9 Pro needs reinstalling (no disc). The helpline says I am not entitled to help. How do I do this?

My PC had a meltdown last week and since then Acrobat 9 Pro had not worked. It says I need to uninstall and reinstall.  I can't since I do not have a disc because this was an upgraded download (from version 6 for which I do have a disc) but I do have the serial code. Even though I can see my purchase online Adobe help say I am not entitled to online help. How do I go about getting a reinstall for Acrobat 9 Pro?

Get AA9 Pro from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html (link on the right side for AA9). You will need your AA6 (qualifying product) and AA9 SNs. As long as you have registered, you can generally get the SN from "My Products and Services" (open another browser window and select Adobe.com. Your name should come up in the upper right and select the down arrow to the right to get a list of options. This should do the job. Please make a backup CD (or on a separate off-line drive) of the install file.

  • Acrobat  X Pro- Need Help with Linking and creating a flyout window in PDF

I'm trying to create a flyout window in a PDF document (Have Acrobat X-Pro) I'm not a programmer or graphics designer. Almost like a flyout or callout in a Powerpoint presentation.
Basically I want to create multiple icon/s on the base PDF page drawing and have several links to other pictures or items that when opened, wouldn't take up the whole screen and can then be closed so you'd only be looking at the base PDF page.
I've tried using the link tool, but only seems to let me create a small rectangle box, click on it and have a new pdf or other file window open up. This is ok, but not really what I need it to do. I want this new window (or even a flyout) to be smaller so it doesn't cover the original base PDF layer and still be able to be closed.
    - Anyone have directions on how to do that in a pdf?
    - Also, is there a way to create a custom link icon instead of that lame rectangle in the link tool?

Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:
// Get the icon from the b3 button
    var oIcon = getField("b3").buttonGetIcon();
// Get  reference to the b0 button
    var f = getField("b0");
// Set the icon of the b0 button to the icon retrieved from the hidden button
    f.buttonSetIcon(oIcon);
    // Show the b0 button
    f.display = display.visible;
This code would go in the Mouse Up event of the smaller button.

  • Does a trial version of Acrobat X Pro needs a license key to operate it?

I just downloaded the trial version of Acrobat X Pro but when I downloaded a PDF sent to me by e-mail, it opened it with the Acrobat X Pro, then a window opened requiring a License key number, if not I had to purchase the product, o cancel the operation. Therefore I could not print the PDF that I needed! Does anybody know where I can access the license key # for a trial version?

Trials have no serials. Refer to this:
    Adobe trial software expired early
And if all you need is print a PDF, the free Reader will do that just fine.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended crashes when trying to distribute form

    Hi.
I am experiencing an issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit.
I have created a pdf file derived from an html and css file.
The pdf file comes out perfectly with form fields automatically detected, etc.
However, when I try to distribute the form, by clicking on
    1. Forms > Distribute Form...
    2. Manually collect responses in my email inbox..
    3. Save a local copy and manually send it later.
Acrobat.exe crashes with faulting module acroform.api. when trying to create the response file.
Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.0.0.332, faulting module acroform.api, version 9.0.0.332, fault address 0x00025878.
    Any ideas?
I can successfully distribute a different form created from InDesign.
    Thank you.

Any ideas?   there was an update on adobe dated 2/25/13.   Perhaps if I uninstall it?   I need advice on how to uninstall. When I view updates and click on it, and then click uninstall, it goes back to the Program Screen, in Control, for all programs. Then do I click on Acrobat and Uninstall?  I am nervous about doing this. Thanks

  • Installed RoboHelp 11 for trial and it overwrote Acrobat 9 pro with broken version of Acrobat 11 which I can't uninstall.

The subject says it all. I installed Robohelp 11 to try it. Without my permission, the installation nuked my perfectly functional Acrobat 9.0 Pro and replaced it with a completely broken of Acrobat 11, which I neither wanted nor needed. I went to control panel to get rid of it so I could re-install Acrobat 9 Pro, and Acrobat 11 doesn't even appear as an application that can be uninstalled. Yes, the installation is that broken. So now I can't work with PDFs at all. I am more than happy to uninstall the trial of Robohelp to get back Acrobat, but I'm not even sure that will fix the issue since the installation program seems so squirrely. Anyone else had this problem. If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in my post, when I went to Control Panel to uninstall Acrobat 11.0, it wasn't listed among currently installed apps. However, after going back and looking through the Installed On dates in Control Panel, I realized that for some reason, it's called Adobe PFD Creation Add-on XI, rather than Acrobat 11.0. Interestingly, the program folder name in Windows Explorer still uses Acrobat 11.0.
Fortunately for me, I always have disc versions of my software. So I was able to re-install Acrobat 9.0 once I got rid of Adobe PDF Creation Add-on XI. I really wish that Adobe made clearer what extras they are installing with these trial versions :-(
    Thanks again.

  • My Acrobat X Pro does not work simultaneously with Reader 9

    Hi,
I save a word file to pdf.
I am reading it via Reader 9.
Simultaneously I open Acrobat X Pro to access the same file in an attempt for some editing work - and then the X Pro never boot up again.
    Any help?
    hkjhht

    Thanks Rave.
I called the customer hotline. Special thanks to the gentleman Grandy who is absolutely patient in leading me to solve out the problem.
The final solution is to uninstall X Pro, using the clean up software to remove the Reader 9 and any residue of X Pro, and then reinstall the X Pro again, and to abandon the Reader.
Thanks and everything is fixed again.

  • Problem beim installieren von Adobe Acrobat X Pro/Problem when installing Adobe Acrobat X Pro

    Hallo,
    Hello,
I wanted to update Adobe Acrobat to X Pro. When I wanted to start the installation an error message occured. The systemrequirements aren't given.
    My systemrequirements:
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3 (32bit)
    3 Gb main memory
    Prozessor: Intel Core2-Duo
30 Gb free Hard drive space
    Internet Explorer 8 is installed
So you see the systemrequirements are given. On other PCs with the same configuration I updated Adobe Acrobat to X Pro without any problems.
Has anyone ever seen such a problem?
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Top93

    Ok, I found the problem.
On the PC Windows XP Pro SP2 was installed. Usually we've got a standard image on all our PCs with the main software like OS, MS Office and other programms. So I didn' look at the OS which is installed on this PC because on every PC is XP Pro SP3. I've got no idea why there was only SP2 on this PC.
Nevertheless many thanks for your time and your effort David.
