Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches

We have an application that will not work with Acrobat 9 so at this point I need to create an Admin point install for version 8 and would like to update the admin point to the most recent update for Acrobat 8.  Is there a chart I can use that list the updates I need to apply and in what order?
Like this.
Acrobat 9.0.0 -> 9.1.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.1.2 (Quarterly) -> 9.2.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.3.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.3.2 (Quarterly) -> 9.3.3 (Quarterly) -> 9.4.0 (Quarterly)
Thanks In advance for any information you can share.
Ed

The map says 8.0 > 8.2.MSI  Please see the chart.  I created an admin point with Acrobat Stan v8.  I donloaded the 8.2.MSP and 8.2.2.msp and 8.2.3.MSP and 8.2.4.MSP and 8.2.5.MSP.  When I try to apply the 8.2.MSP file to my admin point install it tells me the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer becaouse the program may be missing or the upgrade patch may be adifferent version...........   I have admin points set up for Acrobat Stan Pro and reader v9.4 so I have some exsperience with updating the admin point.  So not sure what to do at this point, if the map says 8.2.MSI and all I can find is the 8.2.MSP and that does not work, what next?

You can download the trial version of the software from the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Windows Acrobat XI Standard how to install on MAC.

I just purchased and installed Adobe Acrobat XI Standard on my Laptop PC.  I want to install the same version on my MAC OSX machine but during the installation when entering the license it says that the license in invalid.
How can I install on my MAC.

Software is this way most often (not always). In fact, most software is only allowed to be installed on one computer anyway. Adobe make an exception and allow you to install on two computers of your own (if nobody else could use them), but they must be both Mac or both Windows.
You will find this with a lot of your software. Owning Mac and PC is definitely a more expensive proposition than two PCs or two Macs.
You might look into Parallels Desktop. I was surprised how well it worked.

  • Upgrade Acrobat X standard to X pro get error 1334 "convertxf.exe" not found on install

Have operational Acrobate X Standard software already on my PC using Windows XP
upgraded to Acrobate X Pro, dowloaded with no problems, During install encountered the following error:
    Error 1334. The file
    "convertxf.exe, 715C03BA_A57B_4264_80D9_38D98029F5A7"
cannot be installed because the files cannot be found in cabinet file
'Data 1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading
from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
The Data 1. Cab file look to me to be orignally down loaded with the Acrobate X standard. I have re-downloaded Acrobate X standard and re-installed I still have the same problem. I have also re-down loaded and re-installed Acrobate X Pro, same problem.
    Any suggenstions?

Are you able to remove Acrobat 10 Standard using the Programs & Features control panel?

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 standard not working anymore

I purchased Acrobat 9 standard online. Installed on both laptop and desktop machines. Laptop version still functions fine, but desktop version no longer works. Error 1311 source file not found - setup files. I tried the "repair" to no avail. How do I fix this? Adobe says they have no support for this. They sent me to this forum.

    Hi nywireguy1,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble with Acrobat 9. Does the error occur when you try to reinstall Acrobat? If so, this document may help: Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" |Install Adobe products | Windows

  • Cannot validate Acrobat XI Standard Subsription

    Hi,
My team recently purchased a month-month subscription for Acrobat XI Standard. I installed it on a user's laptop, upon launching Acrobat I try to input our login credentials but it produces an error where it could not validate our subscription. Then there is an option to continue as Trial, when I click this option Acrobat just crashes each time. Uninstalled, Re-installed, rebooted, the machine multiple times and outcome is still the same.
Then I went ahead and tried to install this on my own machine, and it worked just fine. So it seems like the issue is local to the other user's. We would appreciate any assistance we can get as to why it fails to validate on the other machine. Thanks.

    Hi irops,
    Please try the following steps:
Delete all the files from following folders:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate.
Let me know if this helped.
    Regards,

  • Acrobat X Standard "No valid sequence could be found for the set update. Error 1648"

I'm getting this error trying to install an update.
    I followed this process:
    1. Cleanup Acrobat (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html).
    2. Delete everything from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ARM
    3. Delete C:\Windows\Installer\10e2413d.msp
[I didn't do this step. No file with this name exists in this folder. I know it's hidden. I can see the folder and a bunch of other files].
    4. Install Acrobat X Standard.
The install went perfectly. The update did not. Tried twice, including reboots.
Any help is appreciated. But I have no technical knowledge. Easy, step-by-step instructions please.
PS Windows 7, Office 2013, Intel i7, 8GB RAM, system is running excellently... except for this.
    Thank you,
    Thomas Scott

    Bill and all,
I tried the steps I outlined above for the third time, more carefully going step-by-step and a reboot between each. The update installed this time.
I was using the update from Help > Check for Updates... Is that the right way to do it?
Good idea on the anti-virus. I have Microsoft Security Essentials. It's never interfered with my Adobe Acrobat or Photoshop updates before. But certainly can't hurt to turn that off to be sure it's not causing a problem this time.
I just did a reboot and selected Help > Check for Updates... again. No updates available and running 10.1.9. So it went to the latest update all by itself.
Thanks for the advice. I'm replying here for that and so others with the same problem may have one possible solution.
    Sincerely,
    Tom Scott

  • Using SMS to install Acrobat 7 Standard and 7.0.5 - 7.0.8 patches

I am having problems with a package I created to install Acrobat 7 Standard and all it's updates. I this package I have created many programs. The first four programs are used to uninstall the previous version - 6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.0.3 and 6.0.4. I used the command lines I got from the PDF document: "Install and remove Acrobat products using the command line (6.x on Windows)". All four programs went through successfully.
The next program in this package is the one that installs Acrobat 7 Standard. I used InstallShield Tuner 7.0 to customize the Acrobat settings when installed. I used the command line for this program that was listed the PDF: "User Document: Adobe Acrobat 7.0 for Microsoft Systems Management Server". This program installed without a problem.
The problem comes when the next program attempts to start. This is the program that installs the 7.0.5 update patch for Acrobat 7.0.0. At this point, this is where the package bombs. I have used the command lines provided in the PDF document: "Install and remove Acrobat products using the command line (7.0 on Windows)". I extracted the files from the .exe file of the patch and copied them to the source directory with all the other installation files for Acrobat 7 Standard.
Not sure what to do at this point. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me into the right direction!

    Glenn,
I do not use any of the Acrobat instructions on deleting previous versions. I wrote a inf file from within MS Installer that removes all the Registry settings that the original installation of Acrobat 5 and 6 create. I also remove any files that remain on the PC. One reboot is needed and then a manual removal of the one or two files that stay in the ActiveX directory and the main Acrobat directory (used by windows until a reboot is performed). I then was successful in creating a package that delivers Acrobat 7 Pro with the updates to 7.05 and 7.08 by chaining them from within the setup ini file. I am now trying the same thing with Acrobat 7 standard but am having several separate issues.
Good luck because I hope one day Adobe/Acrobat are replaced with another OEM that listens to it customers and will not have as big of Chat room as they have with so many open issues and continuous problems with ever release.

  • Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 9 Standard

I attempted to do an upgrade from Acrobat 9 Standard to Pro Extended having purchased the software from a sales rep who said I could do this as did technical support.
My system is XP Pro/SP2 32-bit.
During the install I ran into this problem. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401731.html. Being stupid I continued on
instead of stopping. Once I got to the section that I am asked to input the Pro Extended serial number and then my STandard serial number I ran into further problems. The dropp down menu asked for which current version of Acrobat, which of course for me was 9 Standard.
The problem was the drop down menu has no option for Standar only Professional.
Since the sales rep had told me I could upgrade I hadn't read the label on the Extended Pro box, which says it's only an upgrade for Professional If I had called in at that time I would have resolved that issue, but not the missing DLL.
I then found out I couldn't uninstall the mess so I did another stupid thing and did a system restore, which just compounded the problem. To make a longer story shorter I downloaded MS Windows Cleanup Utility and removed  Acrobat.com and Acrobat 9 STandard. I then downloaded WinCS4Cleanupscript and unzipped and ran it. So far so good.
Then I was advised to install Pro Extended as a trial and customer support would take care of the license issue. Ok, again so far so good.
I then attemped to install Pro Extended as trial and ran into a printer problem similar to what I had
encountered before, but not exactly the same.
"Setup can not copy file PSCRPTFE.NTF" and issues about printers not being Windows logo compliant I believe it was.
(I have a new wireless Brother HL-2170W laser and Canon MP830 inkjet and just updated the driver and firmware...maybe that will load the missing driver)
A this point the installation was terminated and I was advised to follow Adobe TechNote KB403613. The only item that I could possiblity help with this printer problem is the Hotfix kb-930627, but this is for a 64-bit system not 32? Do I download or not?
I also just found out that I still have some vestige of Pro Extended on my system though the MS Cleanup Utility doesn't list anything. Do I run WinCS4Cleanupscript again?
    a) How do I fix the PSCRPTFE.NTF issue with my printer(s)
    b) Do I download a 64-bit hotfix kb-930627to my 32-bit system...and will that solve the printer problem?
    c) Do I just ignore what's left of Pro Extended on my system or run Winc cs4Cleanupscript again. I can't run it directly from all programs, but if I click
on Acrobat 9 Standard under start it opens up or at least that's how it's identified.
    d) Anything else?

I might as well update my own question:
I followed the instructions given in the Adobe TechNote kb403613 after running WINCS4Cleanupscript.
However, I did NOT download the hotfix as that's for a 64-bit system. The phrasing of the hotfix wasn't very
clear to me, but I don't think when it stated XP Home or Professional meant a 32-bit system rather only 64-bit.
If anyone knows better let me know. I checked out that specific hotfix and said was for 64-bit OS.
    1) Created a new user account with Admin rights
    2)  I did the "intermediate troubleshooting" listed in kb403613 and found a few files to delete and I also ran the disk defragmenter.
Might as well catch any problems up front instead of waiting.
    3) There were several directories on the DVD but only copied Acrobat 9 Pro Extended to my desktop in the new user account.
    4) Ran msconfig and disabled all programs under the start up tab. Once you click OK a small window pops up
and you press restart. Remember to write down any programs listed in startup that are not enabled so you
can deselect those when you enable the startup menu again.
    5) On restart and booting up press F8 to get the start up options and select VGA mode.
    7) Once you in Windows log back into the account you created to just install Acrobat
    8) Open Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on your desk top and run the installer
    Desktop>Acrobat 9 Pro Extended>Acrobat9>Acro3D
    9) Run the install. In my case I selected trial version.
    10) I still ran into a problem with Windows Logo compatiblity issues with  my printers.
I could either continue or stop the installation, which I did to attempt to determine just what's
    causing that problem.
    11) there was some auto backout of files, but I still had to run MS Cleanup Utility again and remove Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
Also ran WINCS4Cleanupscript though nothing there.
    12) I then did a restart and booted into normal Windows mode from VGA mode.
    13) Logged into my account and ran msconfig to enabled my startup menu and then deselected the ones I didn't want.
OK, I am back to square one. I checked the Windows Logo Product List and found my Brother HL-2170W is
XP, VISTA and W7 Windows Logo certified.
I checked my other printer a Canon Pixma MP830...well not so good. It's logo certified under Vista and W7, but not XP.
I had downloaded the lastest driver and firmware, but that didn't seem to help. I did email Canon. Now these printers had
no problems when I was running under Acrobat 9 Standard.
Right now my only option appears to be to just run the install and continue on when I get to the printer issue. Still don't know what
will happen when I get to the serial numbers. I am suppose to call support and they will fix activation. So I am told...
