Acrobat X: Add Web Content = Embed Video Tag

I created a portfolio in Acrobat X (several times). When I add embed tag to content from a YouTube video, to test the feature, directly into the Portfolio, I am unable to view the video BUT when I add a web link url it works fine. All I see is the embed code in preview mode on a white screen. When I select Open File in the upper right corner, I get a blank tab and it freezes the browser I'm using.
I've tried both the old embed code and the new embed code on YouTube. I am on Windows 7 OS and have tried both IE and Firefox as the default browser. Both return the same results. At one point, after multiple attempts, I got the Windows "Blue Screen of Death." Any ideas what is going on? Thanks.

That's because the embed codes for YouTube are broken at the moment. You have to edit them first to put the "http:" back in, and there's often a stray bracket.
e.g. this is what YouTube will give you
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/fquwqFGU_8U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>)
This is what it should say:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fquwqFGU_8U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Add Web content into ISE Web Server?

Hello,
We use Cisco ISE 1.2.0.899 on our network.
We would like to add a Web based documentation about Guest Portal ("how to find MAC Address", "how to release/renew IP Address"...) on our network to help users.
Idealy we would like to host these data on the Web server integrated to ISE (which already hosts Guest/Sponsor Portals).
Does ISE allow that?
Unregistered users (or not already profiled devices) are automatically redirected to the Guest Portal, but we would like they're able to access to this documentation (hosted on ISE Web Server or another Web Server).
How can we set that? By not using port 80 to access to this documentation?
Which elements does ISE identify to redirect browsers to the Guest Portal? Is it port 80, http protocol or other?

I've checked this guide, I may have misunderstood, but I've seen how to customize built-in content only, and not how to add our own content.
We've created our own documentation (html files), and we would like that our users can access to it when they are using the Guest Portal.
We thought add the documentation URL on the "Guest Portal Login", to open it in a pop-up or new window.
Can we host these documentation files on ISE Web Server (apache)?
Or do we have to host them on a separate server?
Because unregistered users/devices are automatically redirected to the Guest Portal, we would like to know how to allow users to access to this online documentation without the documentation pages are also redirected to the Guest Portal?

Embed Video in Word Acrobat 9

Okay, I've lloked at seom of the forum post, but could not find an answer. Here's my dilemna. We have a full license of Acrobat 9 Pro. When using Word, I try to embed a video via the Embed Video option in the Acrobat tab. However, that option is not avaiolabel. Insearching teh forums and internet, I found that Actobat 9 Pro Extended has that option. I downloaded a trial. While installing, it told me that I hasd a higher version of Acrobat 9 (Pro). So here are myu questions:
Is Pro better thatn Extended?
Is the Embed Video option availbale in Word with Acrobat 9?
If Embed Video options is not availabel, is there an add-in or plug-in to do this w/ Acrobat 9 Pro installed?

Indesign CS5.5 Web Content Animation Cutoff

Hi,
I'm currently working in Indesign CS5.5 and I'm trying to add Web Content to a folio that I'm making. It's for an animation on the cover.
I get all the way to testing it on the Content Viewer on my iPad and when I open it up, it gives a little loading circle for half the animation.
Does anybody know how to get rid or cut back the loading time so my full animation is visible? There's no loading circles on Wired's magazine whenever they have these types of animations.

I've got it working.
Perhaps the problem was the numbered list used in the Chapter Title paragraph style? I had said to convert numbered lists to text in the ePub Export dialog.
Some combination of these steps solved the problem in case others encounter the same thing:
a) Changed the chapter headings using the Chapter Title paragraph style to Chapter Title FM. This style does not used a numbered list. Of course, I had to manually type "Chapter 1" - before each chapter title.
b) Once all occurences of the Chapter Title paragraph style were gone, I redefined the TOC definition to remove Chapter Title. This leaves me with a single Level 1 and a single Level 2.
c) Updated the TOC with the new definition.
d) Moved the TOC frame from the pasteboard to some blank space in the front matter. I did not bother to make the frame large enough for all the text, since InDesign will delete this upon export.
e) Export to PDF. On the third panel, changed the "break at: Chapter Title" to "break at: Chapter Title FM"
My theory is getting rid of the numbered list in the chapter paragraph styles probably solved the problem. Thanks to all who took the time to check out the discussion.

Embed Video options??

Hi all,
I have a little video i made, which i embedded into the
timeline. This video has a build up at the beginning, then doesnt
have "an ending" ... because im hoping to be able to make a loop
kind of effect.
this is what i've got right now...but it doesnt work quite
right...
i have the video embedded into another movieClip. called
video_mc
The video goes on for 150 frames.
on a Layer above that, i have another instance of the
MovieClip, on Frame 100
on Frame 150, of the first instance, i have the action
video_mc.gotoAndPlay(51);
when the (gotoAndPlay() ) command is reached, it takes
roughly 2seconds for the playhead to start playing....not a verry
good loop. =)
Im trying to get the second clip to start playing the first
50 frames (above the other instance's last 50 frames), then go back
to frame 51 of the first instance.
i hope that makes sence... Each MovieClip has a LayerStyle of
SCREEN, so that i can see through it.
Im hoping someone has a better suggestion for achieving this
loop im looking for.
Let me know if this is too hard to understand....because im
not verry good at explaining things. =)

Fixed Layout ePub - please help me embed video and/or use Folio overlay with web content

Hi
I have an In Design file used to create a print book (11"x11") and have decided to use CC 2014 to create a fixed-layout ePub 3 for a digital version. I converted the book over with minor issues of having to change the font and it looks beautiful.
I would like to add videos at the end of the book to take advantage of the flexibility of the digital format. I create a year-end slideshow of my photos and host them on Vimeo.
I have tried the following:
Using the Vimeo standard embed code in an HTML element
Using the old flash Vimeo embed code and converting to HTML - worked great on iBooks on Mac but not on iPhone/iPad as flash-based
Hosting and linking to videos on my own web server and using the Media - insert video link to the mp4 file
Hosting and linking to videos on my old photo server at smugmug.com
I can embed the actual videos but, at their smallest size they increase the file size of the ePub from 78MB to 400MB...
I then thought I would use a Folio Overlay - Web Content.
The idea is to use this blank page on my website which would look for all intents and purposes like another white page in the book - 2012 Slideshow - Oren Photography
The overlay works in Folio Preview but not when exported as an ePub
Is this a limitation of the ePub format?
Any help/advice/suggestions on fixing this are greatly appreciated.

My interest in embedding videos was largely to minimize the final file size and amount of space used on each person's device. I ended up following your advice about using Adobe Media Encoder to minimize the size of each slideshow but it still increased the final ePub from 65 MB to over 200 MB. And that was with video quality that was far inferior from what I could offer through an embed or, my final solution, a link out to my website.
I happen to be of the same thought as Bill that most people are now connected to the internet and would favor a smaller file with access to online content over a very large file. I would have liked to embed the videos and allow 720p quality inside the ePub over the link I ended up settling for.

Hi Rob,
From the screen shots it looks like your script is not formatted properly (you may refer to 'Paladin Script' in 'Sample Project' to get an idea of how the script should be formatted.).
Further please follow the steps mentioned below to use Story to PP workflow.
Create a new Film script in Adobe Story
Create scene heading – INT. LOCATION – Day (these will show up in the outline view panel on left hand side)
Hit enter, hit TAB
Enter the name of the speaker, hit TAB or ENTER
Copy over the transcribed text
Build your script this way
Number scenes from the production menu
Export ASTX file for your script : File->Export->.astx
Open Premiere Pro
Create a new project, bring in media
In the project pane, find the "Scene" column
For the clip that contains the spoken text, assign the same scene number to the clip as you have in the story script (lets say both are scene 1)
Click out of the scene box in the project panel in Ppro
Right click on the scene that you just assigned a scene number to and select – attach Story script
Select the .astx fle you exported in step 8
Click ok
You should now see the script data in the metadata panel for the clip in the metadata panel.
You can now run speech to text based on "Embedded Script metadata" to time align spoken word to the script.

YouTube embed in web content overlay crashes InDesign when previewing

I created an HTML file with this code:

I then created a box in InDesign and used the Web Content Overlay and selected the HTML file I created.
When I go to preview my pub on the connected iPad InDesign stops responding during "Checking Folio Contents x of x"
Is something wrong with my HTML file? Is it even possible to do this?
For background info: I'm trying to get the same effect of streaming a video from YouTube as I would if I were to directly embed the mp4 into my pub. I don't know if this is even possible or what is the best way to do this.

Okay, so here are the steps I'm taking:

4. Paste embed code
This creates a web content area with the video embeded. So the user can click play on the video once it loads and can then click full screen on the video controls.
What I'm trying to do is have a button on my page which links to a full screen view of the YouTube video so when the page loads the video doesn't load but when the user clicks the button it would then load the YouTube video full screen. I'm looking for the same functionality that is possible were I to embed an mp4 straight into my document, hide it, and then create a button that plays the video in full screen mode.
Is the above possible?

The video tag only supports a few formats and MKV (Matroska Multimedia Container) isn't one of them.<br />
Your only option is to use the object (or embed) tag and use a player that can handle that format.<br />
If might be better to switch to the WebM format.<br />

Video heavy web content folio app breaks when sent to background

Hi all,
I was pointed to here after asking a question on the Facebook page.
Basically, the DPS App we have created seems to not have been done before - we had gone down the native app route prior to this, but due to costs and compliance issues we could not go down that route, so we are trying to achieve getting the same project to work in DPS.
The main aim of the project was to have seamless transition from still image with hotspots, to short video, back to still image, thus creating a nice user journey. The quickest way to achieve this was using HTML and Javascript 'loops'. If this was done in InDesign, we were told it could've taken weeks!
Basically though, the videos are embedded and constantly updated with new video info and then played again using HTML/JS/jQuery - this works well and looks great, until the application is minimised. The video then breaks (This error occurred in the native app too, for whatever reason sending the app to background and back to foreground causes the video element to break) and only brings back a black screen with a Q. All I need to do is clean the video code or return the user to the splash screen when they press the home button.
I was wondering, does anyone here have any tips to getting HTML/Javascript to know that the app is no longer being viewed and is in the background? Or is there a way of returning the user to the splash screen on home button press - native apps have the ability to integrate & communicate with the hardware, will this functionality be released? Or could there be another way?

How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc which has ample remaining free space? After preparing the new video for burning and clicking on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject.

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.

How to add src, alt and title tags to a PS generated Web Photo Gallery

I do some web design and need to add some tags to a web photo gallery created by Photoshop. Maybe this question should be directed to the GoLive / Dreamweaver Forum but since the gallery was created in PS I thought I'd start here.
I need to add src, alt and title tags to the images in the web gallery. Normally this is as simple as working on the code in the html page in which the image sits but the PS gallery doesn't seem to be that simple.
Can anyone tell me exactly how, and which files I need to work on, to add these tags to each of my 42 gallery images?

You can't do it in Photoshop.
You can open the pages in a text editor adn easily ad any tags you want. They are simply html pages.
If you really want to, you can use Dreamweaver or Golive. Using a text editor is generally faster and easier because you can just copy/paste between the files and not have to worry about code rewriting in the WYSIWYG applications. Don't believe the GoLive/Dreamweaver hype about "round trip code" they both will alter code.

Streaming Video through Web Content Overlay

Really would appreciate some help here. Whenever I link an HTML file containing a MP4 video through the Web Content Overlay, all the other body text in the pages no longer render as vectors (the text becomes pixelated). The video is in H.264. Any ideas?

Does the video streaming source link has the same page resolution as your folio is? Did you check the option "scale content to fit" is web content overlay?
