Acrobat X and XI with Citrix Xenapp 6.5

hi all ,
we are going to publish acrobat through xenapp 6.5 . is acrobat X and XI supported to be run as published application on citrix.
if yes what is the requirments to do that ?
appreciate your help

In Acrobat 11, we've done huge improvements for both resource and performance considerations for XenApp.
Having worked with many Enterprise customers, they have found this to be invaluable when evaluating Acrobat 11/Reader 11.
Also take a look at our Enterprise Admin guide posted to help with these transitions.  Old materials posted in prior response is old and out of date as it only addresses a very limited scope of these questions.
Please contact me if you have any further questions/issues.
Thanks. David

  • Oracle client with Citrix Xenapp 64 bit

    Hi,
    I have below queries :
    1) Can we install Oracle 9i client 32 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?
    2) Can we install Oracle 9i client 64 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?
    3) Can we install Oracle 11g client 32 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?
    4) Can we install Oracle 11g client 64 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?

Queries do not make much sense.
Oracle does not provide client db drivers for a hypervisor or vritual machine system software. It provides it for the operating system used.
Oracle provide client drivers, 32bit and/or 64bit, for a number of operating systems and operating system versions. Does Oracle provide drivers for Windows XP? Yes. For Windows Vista? Yes. For Windows 7? Yes.
    See Instant Client Downloads.
Whether such a driver works on a Windows o/s that is running in a virtualised container, and can provide database connectivity, depends on the nature of that container's support for the underlying operating system, and the configuration of that container ito of network connectivity to the real world.
Oh yes - using Oracle 9i in any shape or form also does not make sense. It is a product discontinued years ago.

  • Need to know if Firefox 6 is compatible with Citrix XenApp Server 6 running on Windows Serve r2008 R2 virtualized on a VMWare environment. Thanks in advance!

We are setting up a new environment for a client based on Citrix XenApp Server 6 running on Windows Server 2008 R2 which is virtualized on a VMWare hypervisor. Client uses Firefox and we need to know if it is going to work or not. If not, what is the root cause (i.e. XenApp, Windows Server 2008 R2, virtualization).
    Thanks again! :)

I only ask because, in the past we were able to install a related product, InDesign CS5 in Citrix. In fact, Adobe had published documentation for doing exactly that: here. I just haven't seen anything similar for Illustrator CS6 and wanted to check.

  • BPC 7.5 NW on Citrix XenApp 6 w2008

    Hi All,
We are currently in two BPC projects and we want to use Citrix servers based on w2008 R2 64bit for BPC (is the only supported). Our big problem right now is that BPC client is not working properly with Citrix XenApp 6 W2008 R2 64bit.
Office 2007 is being used for BPC. Could it be possible to have any feedback from someone using Citrix for BPC 7.5 NW? Maybe someone in SAP or are we the first ones?

    Hi Antonio
    May I have a question,
Did you success install BPC 7.5 NW on W2008 R2 ? Because I thought  NW 7.01 which is required by BPC 7.5 is not able to run on W2008 R2.
    Thanks,

    ABOUT THE BEHAVIOR:
Users Login to their Citrix session from Intranet or Internet. Connection to their sessions works god and users can work normal. About 2-5 times a day every most of the users have Problems with the Network drives. in Windows Explorer the drives disapear.
about 30 seconds later most of the Network drives are available again. we were connected with some users to watch it an we can see in Explorer that de Network drives disapear one after the other on de left side in the Navigation tree. after that most of the
drives came back and are visible again. normally one drive is missing. not the same drive, every time another one. all Network drives are mounted by GPO Policies (GPP). If this happens a user had to Close his Citrix session and start a new one, until the drives
    disapear netx time.
Someone of you ever see somithing like this? we didnt understand the Situation and need some help to find a solution. Thanks to all of you.

    Hi,
    >>If this happens a user had to Close his Citrix session and start a new one, until the drives disapear netx time.
When the drives disappear, are we able to access the network shares via UNC path? Besides, check event logs to see if some related events were logged. Moreover, if we use anti-virus software, we can try to disable it to have
a check.  In addition, for this involves third party product, it's also recommended that we contact vendor support to see if they can provide some suggestions.

  • Network admin install Adobe Acrobat X and patches

Ok so i have a brand new AIP.  I run the Quarterly patch 10.0.1 by running the command: msiexec /a "D:\Adobe\AcrobatX10\AcroPro.msi" /p "D:\Adobe\updates\AcrobatUpd1001_Tier1.msp"  next i try to run the patch for 10.1 and it says that the upgrade patch cannot be isntalled by the Windows installer service becasue the program to be upgraded may be missing or the the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.  this happens if I try the Q patch 10.1 right on to my newly created AIP.  I followed the steps here exactly so what gives?
8   Administrative Installation Points — Enterprise Administration Guide

You are attempting to use the "old" Acrobat 9.x  AIP logic of applying each update in order.  That is no longer the logic used for AIP starting with Adobe Acrobat X and continuing with Adobe Acrobat XI.  With Acrobat X and Acrobat XI now you install the base 11.0.0 and then apply the latest Quarterly Update (at this time those are versions 10.1.12 and 11.0.09).

  • Adobe Reader users are occasionaly presented with Standard when published via Citrix XenApp 5.0

We are publishing Adobe Standard to 4 users over 6 servers and have both Acrobat Standard and Reader installed on each Citrix server.  During installation of Standard, Reader was selected as the default application.
Regardless of this configuration, infrequently the Citrix servers will present Acrobat Standard to users that are not listed as users of the application.  So far, we have not noticed any patterns of behavior and have noted the following:
    Although, all servers (1-6) have incorrectly presented Reader users with the Standard application at least once, only a few of the servers (1, 4, & 5) frequently violate the configuration settings;
Reader users and Standard users can coexist on the Citrix server and be presented the appropriate application (i.e. 5 reader users can be presented Reader and 5 Standard users can be presented Standard at the same time).
Citrix servers can present Acrobat Standard to Reader users even if there are no users of Standard accessing the server.
Users are starting to experience two types of failures:a. Acrobat fatally crashes with the following event:
Faulting application Acrobat.exe, version 9.2.0.124, time stamp 0x4ac7308f, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0c094e16, process id 0x2aa8, application start time 0x01caf2b4e54acde3.
           b. Adobe Reader will simply stop responding and error out when being accessed
Please submit any suggestions you might have for configuring these two applications to nicely coexist on a Citrix server.

Adobe Reader was installed and running on all Citrix servers since their inception over a year ago.
Recently, we installed Adobe Standard on each server and during installation Adobe Standard asked whether Reader or Standard should be used as the default program.  Adobe reader was selected and 80-85% of the time, the Citrix servers observe this rule.
On other occasions, when users with access to Reader open a PDF, Citrix will present Adobe Standard instead of the default program.  At first, I thought it might be caused by a user with Standard already open but further testing proved Adobe Standard can be presented to a user of Reader even if there is no open session of Standard.

  • Citrix XenApp 6.5 PVS - Adobe Acrobat Pro XI Registration PopUp

    Dear Community,
wondering how to get rid of that registration popup when starting Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.5) on Citrix XenApp 6.5 privisioned Windwos 2008 R2 server?
Anyone who can help with this? Thanks in advance.
    Andrew

    Dear brogers_1,
thanks for your answer. Can you please be a little mor specific. Is it enough to customize the installer (.msi) generally or do we have to set a special settings, so every user will not get the popup "registration" (see screenshot attached) anymore when starting the application?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

  • Citrix XenApp and Safari

    Hi folks,
I'm having some torubles using my corporate Citrix XenApp facility.
I can connect to our the XenApp corporate website, and once I'm logged in a list of applications is displayed. However, when I click on any of them, nothing happens, meaning that the Citrix Receiver software doesn't get loaded.
However, everything is working fine on Mozilla Firefox, for example.
I'm running on Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, latest updates installed, with Safari 7.0.1.
I wouldn't say it's a matter of plugins since I've already tried disabling them all
Using the "private" mode doesn't seem to be a solution, either
I've already tried runing in 32-bit mode, to no avail
Finally, I've already done a full cleaning on the stored data from my Safari cache. That one didn't changed anything, too
Is anyone experiencing the same issue? I've done some research, but I was unable to find a solution to my problem, even if I noticed that I don't think I'm the only one scratching his head on Safari and Citrix.
Thanks to anyone willing to help me!
    Giovanni

    Hi folks,
I'm new to Citrix Receiver but seem to be having similar or related issues maybe... I log onto the XenApp page of the corporate portal (data management system in my city for a social service) and I "see" the Citrix Receiver start up, the app loads, then a message about "degraded video" to one display (fine, I'm using dual displays), a quick "flash" of what I think is the app screen and ... nothing. Clicking the app again generates the horrible "You already have an instance running" error so I know the receiver is running. But I can't access it. Firefox is the same. Same issue even in BootCamp for Windows 7 Ultimate. Stumped.

  • Acrobat 9 pro and problems with pdf made by photoshop cs4

    Hello,
I have encountered a problem when viewing pdfs exported from photoshop cs4 using acrobat pro 9. If I open single pdf, it's ok, but whenever I open another pdf, all text is jagged. Then if I close all pdfs and try opening the second one, it's ok again. It looks like acrobat is not able to render texts correctly in newly opened pdf when another pdf is already opened.
This happens only with pdfs exported from photoshop (file->save as->pdf). It does not really matter if the first opened pdf is from photoshop or not, all other opened pdfs from photoshop are crapy.
I tried different settings when saving pdf but the results are always the same - jagged type (it does not even look like aliased, it's completely screwed and unreadable) in second pdf. It is funny because text present as smart object from illustrator renders fine all the time. Therefor I think the problem is between photoshop export and acrobat, vectors are rendered with no problems.
I tried opening on different pc (also with acrobat 9 pro) with the same result. Systems are vista on exporting pc, the second pc is running windows7 beta. However on the third pc with windows XP and adobe reader 9 everything works fine.
Any ideas how to make this work?
    regards,
    embee

Solution found for me. From Adobe Acrobat & Reader 9.1 Release Notes:
Roaming Profiles on Windows and Networked Home Directory on Macintosh
are not supported configurations for 9.0 or 9.1, however we have made
several fixes in 9.1. We are looking at the possibility of supporting
this for the next major release.
As I am working with roaming profiles, my current solution (which is no solution at all) is to wipe current and reinstall Acrobat/Reader 8. Among other things there are supposed console hacks to make the purchased Adobe software run at all in a group work environment. I will end up trying them later.

Just in case. I have two pc's one with windows 7 professional (32 bits) and another with windows 8.1 (64 bits). Can I use, with one license, as I'm the owner and only user, acrobat standard XI?. Thank you in advance

Yes, the license allows 2 installs for the owner's personal use. You can check this in the license agreement if you wish.

  • Command, Control, and Option keys no longer works with Citrix Receiver after upgrading to OSX 10.9.5

At first my keyboard did not work with Citrix Receiver after upgrading to OSX 10.9.5 and I found the workaround by using "cmd + tab," however, once my keyboard work within Citrix, the "command, control, and option" keys no longer work.  Does anyone have a remedy for this?

  • Problems with Acrobat 8 and Windows 7 64 bit

    Hi all
I need help with Acrobat 8 and Windows 7.
During the installation I'm asked to locate the file AdobePDF.dll on the disk. Selected the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AMD64.
The installation finishes without any other problem.
The problem arises when I want to create a pdf from a Word document. I'm using Office 2007. When I select he option to create a pdf from a file, I get message in the attached image.
If I try to used the Adobe PDF printer from within Word, nothing happes. The small printer icon apprears in the Windows task bar, but that is all. If I double click on the icon, I can see the print job, but that's all. There is no dialog box that asks me to save the file.
    Assistance will be apppreciated.

Acrobat 8 is not certified for Win7, particularly the x64 version. If you got the installation to go, the first step is to update AA8 to at least AA8.2. The x64 with XP required at least AA8.2 and I suspect that has not changed. I would suggest updating to the latest, either from the help menu (until no more updates are available) or by downloading the updates from the adobe.com>downloads page. For the latter, download ALL updates after your current version and install them in ORDER. They are not cummulative in most cases. You only need to reboot after the final update. The updates may get you going. If not, you may simply have to upgrade to AA9 or search for what others have been able to do in your situation.

  • Acrobat XI Pro fails with a fall back error on Win 7 and 8

I have been trying for a month to install acrobat XI pro on both win 7 & 8 machines with no success. They get to within 5 sec of finishing and fail with no error code just a message the something interrupted the installation and it was performing a roll back. I have tried this on a new machine with no adobe products installed as well as a machine I am upgrading from Acrobat x pro to Acrobat XI pro.
I have spent hours on the phone with Adobe with no solution, I have searched the Internet and find many people experiencing the same problem but nowhere is there a solution.
I need the product for business and am about at whit's end.  Can anyone help? Is there a solution?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I and many other people have successfully installed in Win 7 and Win 8 without issue, so something specific with your system is the cause. Run the Acrobat cleaner to remove anything left over from previous attempts.
Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
Then make sure that all extraneous software is turned off. No virus or spyware protection, nothing running in the background that you don't need to have running. I haven't tried in Windows 8, but in Windows 7:
    click on the start menu
in the Search panel type: msconfig
See if you can install during a Safe boot. If something is necessary for installation that is not available during a Safe boot,
then look Startup Processes and turn off what you can, reboot and try again.
