Acrobat X: Can't print to PDF without admin right
Hi,
running Acrobat X pro on Win 7 64 Bit, I can't print to PDF from any application (e.g.ms office, chrome, open office, arcobat itsellf....) without admin rights. I just get the error message, that the printing failed.
However, starting the application with admin rights, and trying to print to pdf will work.
I already tried to repair the installation without success.

There is no free PDF printer driver from Adobe. That functionality is included in Acrobat and it used to be part of e.g. Pagemager in the past as well by ways of including Distiller. If you want it for free, you have to look elsewhere, otherwise buy Acrobat. On OSX it is also part of the operating system already, BTW.

Not that Windows security is the greatest but generally these types of things are not easy to bypass. They are security related afterall. I think you will need to contact you IT department about installing the runtime engine for you.

Can't burn a DVD without Administrator Rights
Hi,
We don't allow our users to run with administrator rights on our domain. If we take away the admin rights, they can't burn a DVD, but if I do a RunAs Administrator on Premiere Elements, they can. How can I run P.E. without admin rights so they can burn a DVD? We are running Windows XP SP3, 32bit mode. Thanks.Aside from Hunt's idea of writing the output to a folder and using the free Imgburn to write to a disc (have you tried that?) you have just run up against one of the design limitations of all flavors of Premiere... Elements and the various versions of Premiere Pro
The products are simply not DESIGNED to run in a network environment... they are meant to be used by one user on one computer, with full rights to be able to use all functions
I don't know what to suggest, but you may need to find a different product, if Hunt's suggestion does not work for you
Do note that I do NOT work for Adobe... but I've been reading these forums for many years, and the answers I've seen have all been the same... the products just are not designed to, and do not work in a network environment
Even using PPro/Encore CS5, due to Win7 settings, whereI am the owner and only user of the software, I must right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator when I want to create a dual layer DVD... but not when I'm creating a single layer DVD
For your situation... I've never seen a solution other than full Administrator rights to use all program functions -

Can't Print to PDF using Acrobat 8 Prof after deleting demo of v 10
Hi, I made the mistake of trying version 10 to see if it had any improvements over what I was using v 8.1.5 for, found that there were none, so I deleted it and now I can't print to PDF because it's looking for v 10. Unfortunately had to move recently and can no longer find the original disk to do a new installation. Does anyone know how to redirect the driver to the original v 8? I can open v 8 and everything else seems to work ok, just when I try to print to create a PDF it can't do it.

Finally got things to work by copying all the contents of my Acrobat sub-directory from the v 8 folder to the hollow v 10 folder. Now it works again! Thanks for you help and inspiration to figure this thing out. Am now a very happy camper and didn't need to tear my house appart to find the original disk!

Can't print a PDF on 11x17 paper
I am using Acrobat 10.1.9 on a mac OS 10.8.5 and can not print a PDF on 11x17 paper. Even if I change the default paper size to 11x17 in my system prefrerences, it doesn't recognize the default setting, and prints on 8.5x11 paper no matter what. I have read numerous forums on the internet about people experiencing this problem, and they all say it started happening when Acrobat upgraded the version. However, I know that it is NOT the issue, because I am also using Acrobat 10.1.9 on a different mac that has a different OS 10.9.1, and I can successfully, and easily, change paper sizes when printing from that mac. Any advice?

To fix my problem, i uninstalled adobe reader X with "Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Cleaner Tool", rebooted the server, installed Adobe Reader XI and rebooted again.
For some users, this fix the problem but with some others i had to define Adobe Reader by default again.
I tried without use "Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Cleaner Tool" before and adobe reader X wasn't really uninstall.

How to print a pdf without user interaction (With C#)
My boss assigned me a task that to get the ImagePreview of 1st page of PDF.
My thought is to print the 1st page of PDF to file(virtual print to file), and get the image source, but there comes the problem:
How can print a pdf without user interaction(With C#),question are these:
1. I can use the ShellExcute but cannot assign the destination of output file.
2. User interface is unwanted, I don't want show anyone the Acrobat Reader interface who click the file just want to get a preview.
3. No place to put those parameters in.
This problem confused me a lot of days, I wish someone can give some hints.

Can not print a pdf from preview. It crashes every time from 2 different printers.
I can not print a pdf from preview. I have tried at two separate locations with two different printers.
I am having the same kind of problem when trying to print any kind of pdf: big, small, text only, with pictures. I dont know how it happend. Now it is happening in both my imac and macbook pro both runing the latest Lion MacOS with all updates installed. It is weird one moment my machine was printing ok then it stopped working. I have updated the printer software I have a canon image class mf4350. Also the curious thing is that I can print the same pdf document from adobe acrobat pro on the same computers with out any kind of problems.

How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border? (2 pages per sheet preferred)
I usually print pdfs of books at a copy shop and they turn out fine.
The problem comes when I try to print the same books at home.
I use Adobe Acrobat X with the same settings: "multiple pages per sheet" (2x1) and page border. But the pages are slightly shrunken when printed. I think this is because my printer can't print as closely to the margins. Still, two pages should be able to fit on one sheet in actual size. Are there any layout settings that I can play with to find a better fit, besides portrait and landscape?
If I select page scaling "none," I'm able to print the pdf in actual size, one page per sheet. But there's no option to add a page border.I have a test with some questions (multiple choice, FIB, matching, etc). I have just one button to submit all the answers, and after submiting the student can see his score and review the test to know where he failed. He can't answer again. However, he can change the answer multiple times before submiting.
"if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering" - before submitting
"if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer" - after submitting
My results page is the default. I didn't use any variable. When i go to the results page after reviewing the test all the entry boxes are "wrong". -

Acrobat 9pro won't print to PDF
I am using Acrobat 9pro on my Windows XP x64 computer. When I use Acrobat and try to print to PDF I get the error messages "The document could not be printed." and "There were no pages selected to print." I can, however, print to PDF from other applications such as Word. This problem started suddenly a few months ago after having used the application fine for a year or two. The technical support person told me they wouldn't help me unless I paid $35 to upgrade to Acrobat 10! I'm at a loss.
I'm having this problem too. Acrobat 9.5.3 running on Win 7 x64. After updating Reader form X to XI, Acrobat stopped printing .
I've tried everything: repairing installation, complete installation, removing all the package, removing reader and acrobat, update printers driver, reinstall printers... nothing worked.
Now the only way I have to print is using Reader, that works properly.
This are the dialog boxes coming up: "Document can't be printed" "There were no selected pages to print". I can't have access to the printer setup window too, I guess this is connected to the same issue.

I'm sorry, I didn't clarify in my original post that I was on a Mac. Thank you for your suggestion CF McBlob, but from InDesign, Acrobat Pro and Reader, I tried to print to pdf (which all 3 of them display the option to do so), but a message appears saying that printing to pdf isn't supported in print dialog. I don't have any issues with exporting and saving as a pdf.
I needed to print to booklet as a pdf with the pages in correct page imposition. The file needed to be emailed to other stakeholders within the company to print as they needed.
Adobe used support printing to pdf on Macs:

Upon talking with support, I learned that Adobe no longer supports the print of pdf driver for the Mac. They discontinued the driver a couple of years back. This is because Apple's Preview popularity. However, I still needed the booklet option for print to pdf which Preview doesn't have.
Create Booklet solves this problem. You can open your pdf in Preview and select Create Booklet from the PDF dropdown list.

Do you get any sort of error message?

Can't print to pdf since I installed Snow Leopard.
I make newspaper ads all the time in Illustrator CS4 on a Mac.
I always print them to pdf files. Never had any trouble doing this.
However, since I installed Snow Leopard I can not print to pdfs.
I go through the usual motions and then... just nothing happens.
Are there known issues with AI CS4 and Snow Leopard?I was having the same problem. Basically, you now have to "save as" then "to PDF" to get the same results. Although this new method give you more choices in terms of output, i.e. saving layers, image resolution, it has also produced larger PDF files. I will then have to open the document in Acrobat and "reduce file size". I do wish they would bring back the print to PDF option. Go to the link below to read more. If you figure out how to produce the same results and get the small files sizes back please share.
