Acrobat X Context Menu

Hello,
some days ago I installed Acrobat X coming from Acrobat 9.
With Acrobat 9 I could use the conext menu in the windows explorer to creat of some files a pdf file.
Now with the X Version there isn't any context menu in the windows explorer from Acrobat.
Is there a solution to solve this problem?

do the following to see if you get them back
register the Contextmenu64.dll (if on a 64bit system)
located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat Elements
Open a command prompt as an administrator
type:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat Elements
hit return
type:
regsvr32 Contextmenu64.dll
hit return
check if these context menu's have returned for supported files.
I had the same issue and this worked for me.

Acrobat 9 Context Menu removed by Auto Update

I have Acrobat 9 installed on a Windows 8 64-Bit system and from the Explorer context menu has been removed by the latest update (i.e. combine files). I removed Acrobat and reinstalled it from the CD as a sanity check, and the context menu was there in 9.0 and 9.2, but the next automanted update brought it to 9.5.4 and the context menu was removed. From the web, there's supposed to be a contextmenu.dll registered under the "Arcrobat Elements" directory - it was there in 9.0 and 9.2, but after the update to 9.5.4, the directory was removed.

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Context Menu is missing Windows 8

Hi there,
I've just installed acrobat XI and I found that the context menu (convert to pdf, combine files...) is missing. Does anyone know how to put it back?

Acrobat X context menu missing | 64-bit Windows 7

After you install the Acrobat X 10.1.10 update on 64-bit Windows 7, the Acrobat context menu choice is corrupted on Windows Explorer.

Apparently this is a recurrent bug with updates, e.g. some people had problems with an older update too (Acrobat X context menu missing | 64-bit Windows 7)
Running: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat Elements\ContextMenu64.dll"
reports success, but nothing changes, the Windows Explorer context menu still shows blanks for Acrobat/no text (though clickable and launches Acrobat) Other context items are fine.

Windows Explorer folder context menu crash

Hello, On a PC running Windows 7x64 Ultimate, Windows Explorer closes with a
"Windows Explorer has stopped working" message, and needs to be restarted.
It quits when I right click on a folder, while right clicking on a file doesn't cause it
to quit. So far I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling graphics drivers, SVC scan, malware scans, virus scan,
hijack this, safe mode, clean boot, shexview, shmnview, reliability monitor, and event
viewer. I could use some help with what shell extensions to modify, if that is
even the problem. Thanks

In addition to above suggestions, please help to collect crash dump file for explorer.exe, let's see what exacted file cause your issue:
First enable app crash dump collection by copying following words into notepad, saving it as dump.reg and importing it:

Right-Click Context Menu's Acrobat X Pro Missing

Hello. I have a user of Acrobat X Pro on Windows XP 32-bit system. When they right-click, the context menu's are not there. These menu's exist in my other 2 users Acrobat 9 right-click menu's. Please help me to resolve getting the menu items to show up. I have tried running regsvr to reload the ContextMenu.dll file and it succeeded but still nothing when right clicking.

Via Hit and Miss, I discovered that the "blanks" in my right click context menu are actually the command buttons, just missing the text. I tried everything, including the contextmenu.dll approaches but nothing worked. I then highlighted a few PDF's, hit the blank bar in the context menu, and voila - Acrobat opened and put me into the "combine files" window. Even right-clicking on a single JPG and then hitting the blank bar opens up the "add files into a PDF" window.
Not a perfect fix but at least it gives me what I want!!

Acrobat X Pro - Windows 7 - Missing context menu

Hi, so I just installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro on a Windows 7 computer and noticed how the context menu "right click" for "Combine PDF files" are missing. Open with Adobe Acrobat X however is there, but when selecting two or more PDF files, this option isn't there anymore. It was before installing Acrobat X from Acrobat 9.3.
I tried regsvr32 for ContextMenu.dll as well as the ContextMenu64.dll, since this is a 64bit Windows 7 computer. I also tried removing the entry from registry. When I ran the regsvr32 again, the registry entry came back. So the registering of the dll seems to be working.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is to restart the computer. Would that be necessary? Or is this option removed from Acrobat X?

thanks Dave for your answer which suggests a viable solution. However, please have a look at the attached file (ftp://ftp2.bentley.com/dist/collateral/Web/composing3d.pdf) from MicroStation. Take for example Annots3D[0] on page 5 and see the extended right-click context menu not replicated in the toolbar. Also play with their animation activating it.
It seems they embedded a script into a 3D annotation. Interestingly, it stays a 3D annotations though its interactivity is augmented. One way they may have run is the following: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/using/WS62d861336721011263ac399c138c596fc25-7fff.html

What do you think about this? Have they gone low-level or just managed to run Flash within a 3D annotation (no plug-in needed)?

How Configure Adobe Acrobat IE Plug-in To Only Display Content w/o Context Menu?

Hi,
I'm working on an application using Microsoft Internet Explorer WebBrowser control to display content to the customer.
Some of the HTML files contain Hyperlinks to PDF documents which the user can follow to have these documents displayed within the WebBrowser control.
I already learned that I can add a couple of options to the PDF URL in order to hide the toolbars, but I also need the following to occur:
Right-click should be completely disabled (no context menu)
Any key combination other than text related (e.g. cut/copy/paste) should be disabled
Panning mode (Hand cursor) should be selected by default
Is it possible to accomplish these tasks with the Adobe Acrobat web browser plug-in? Probably through Registry settings? (The application I'm working on is running exclusively on any client machine.)

Acrobat 7 - is there a menu entry somewhere for "Create Link" (other than in the context menu)?

I need to create internal PDF hyperlinks with the link tool on selected text -- however I need the links to be created via the normal application menu, and not from the context menu (i.e. not via "right-click --> "create link").
However, I can't find a menu command for "create link" anywhere.
Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks -- however, context menu items do tend to be duplicates of application menu items as you can see from any application of your choice.
The link tool does not help since it is not capable to

I really need to have more than 15 menu item displayed on Context Menu. I desperately need some workaround or ideas to achieve this
My client has invested thousands of dollar in Flex Project, he definitely need more than 15 menu item.If this project failed , client will NEVER think to invest in flex.
Had I been aware of this limitation before I would have thought some solution by now.This comes as a surprise to me at the last moment ,just fews days before Prod Date.
I cant also user java Scrip heck as my Flex application is running inside Dot net Container , I do not access to the luxury of java script

I got your point but as for as I know grouping like Quality is not possibel in Flax Context menu. I also cant go for window style menu(file,edit) because I need them to be displyed on DataGrid right clk . I am designing a trade datagrid where in trader can see all trades and he can approve/reject etc by just right clk and selcting proper menu item form Context Menu.
In case of window style (acrobat.com) menu trader will have to reach to menu instead of getting all options on mouse right clk
I will have to think other alternative wich provides same ease as cotext menu.(God knows what is that )

"Save link as" in Right-click Context menu is not working properly.

Firefox 17: In a Google search, when I right click on a .pdf link, the popup window automatically gives a "url" filename and "Firefox Document" as filetype. Previously, the filename would be whatever it was on the website (ie. "filename.pdf") and the filetype would be "Adobe Acrobat Document".
I know this problem has less to do with Firefox and more to do with JavaScript, because the problem disappears if you disable JavaScript (Tools -- Options -- Content -- uncheck "Enable JavaScript"). What's happening is that JavaScript is somehow altering the link from a purely .pdf link to something else -- perhaps encasing the link inside a set of commands, and the computer is trying to save the command string instead of recognizing the link for what it is. When JavaScript is disabled in Google searches, the highlighted "[PDF]" link no longer appears in front of the link itself, and the "Save link as" function on the right-click works properly.
Any JavaScript junkies want to try their hand at creating a workaround? One that ensures that the reference created by the right-click context menu matches exactly what the filename is for the website?

The problem is that Google has an onmousedown attribute added to the links that modify a link if you click or right-click a result link to make the link point to a safe browsing check on the Google server.<br />
You can see that if you hover a link and you will notice that after you have (right) click a link the the URL changes to www.google.com/url?xxxxx.
You can use this bookmarklet to remove the onmousedown attributes.

Why does choosing "convert to PDF" from a Word Doc's context menu bring up two Save As dialog boxes?

I have a user that every time she chooses "Convert to PDF" from the context menu on a MS Word document she gets a Save As box, enters the name and location, clicks Save. Then Word starts and it brings up another Save As box and makes her enter the name and save location AGAIN. It does then create the PDF, but it is very annoying to her as she makes lots of PDFs for our board of directors (she is our CEO). I have tried it on other PCs that have a similar setup, but none have done this. They all just run the converter window after one dialog box. Please HELP

Does your user have custom add-ons besides the Acrobat PDFMaker add-on? If so, try disabling the other add-ons as a test to see if you get the same results.
Does your user have a custom template? Try moving it out and using the standard MS Word template as test?
Did your user have a previous installation of Adobe Acrobat?? If so, check the Add-ons to see if an older version is still registered with MS Word.

How to avoid the dialogue when converting from context menu

This is a follow-up to http://forums.adobe.com/message/2016146#443364 which was locked due to a bug.
i would like to know how i can avoid the 'save as' dialogue when using the context menu to convert a word file to pdf using windows XP/acrobat 8/word 2007.
so far, it always prompts me for the filename, which is annoying as it does not allow me to batch-convert several files and let the thing run its course.
the solution provided by Steve in the other thread does not work - even if the plugin from word does not propt for a filename, it still does when triggered from explorer/context menu.
so back to square one: how to avoid that dialogue when not opening word at all?

For a permanent change, START>PRINTERS>right click on Adobe PDF printer and select properties>General>Printing Preferences>Adobe PDF Settings. Under the settings tab, uncheck the box related to asking for a name. Pretty sure that is the location, but it may vary with version.
