  • Problems installing Acrobat X as part of CS6 upgrade

After upgrading to CS6 from CS5, my Acrobat Pro 9 stopped working - it would say that there is an error and shut down, each time I tried to open it.  I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Acrobat 9 and the CS6 upgrade.  Latest reinstallation of the CS6, installed everything except Acrobat X, which comes with the package...
    Any ideas?

Still not working.  I continue to get the error message that “Certain elements of or these products are not able to be installed” (translated from French).  In the following error log, it says (amongst other things) :
ERROR: Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf.   Verify that you have access to that directory.
ERROR: Install MSI payload failed with error: 1603 - Erreur irrécupérable lors de l’installation.

When I was uninstalling previous versions of Acrobat and Reader, it had warned that it couldn’t access the file C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf.  I did try running the Acrobat Cleaner Tool as you recommended, twice, restarting each time but still no luck.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Error Message on Web Premium Suite while opening Acrobat that Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a Suite

Can not open Acrobat Pro 9 out of my adobe creative suite 4 web premium.  Keeps giving an error message. Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite.  To enable Adobe Acrobat start another component of this suite.  I am running Windows 7 64 and already have the CS6 Premium Production Suite loaded on my computer.  I really don't need to load all of the Web Premium since I have upgraded to CS6 programs but still need the Acrobat.  My hard drive crashed and I've had to start all over again.  This is the only glitch and it's becoming very frustrating.
Can't find a link to actually speak to someone at Adobe.

you'll need to install and open some other 32 bit cs4 app.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Installation Error 2?

    Support:
I just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 for my office and I'm having issues installing Acrobat 9. All other applications install, etc: Photoshop, Dreamweaver. To get ready I uninstalled all my old CS3 software and used the CS3 clean utility from Adobe. Then I searched all my files and registry and deleted all leftover files and registry entries.
I restarted and began to install my wondrous new CS4! Everything went well until the end of the installation. I got an error saying Adobe Acrobat could not be installed. It gave me the below output, basically put: "Error: Error 2". I then went to the support site and installed the Adobe Air, Adobe Support Advisor. After a quick check of the "Creative Suite Product Install" option it returned, "The module found no solutions to report for the selected log file.".
    Adobe Installer Error Info:
"Sorry you are experiencing trouble with this installation.

    Error 2."
I don't know what to do now. I desperately need Acrobat installed for my business. I have searched the support site up and down and have found no information on the issue. I did find a support issue which says, "Acrobat 9 is not installed as part of Creative Suite 4 on Windows (XP 64-bit, Vista 64-bit and 2003 Server 64-bit): Adobe Acrobat 9 fails to be installed as part of Adobe Creative Suite 4 on Windows XP 64-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows 2003 Server 64-bit." However I have an x86 (32bit) system. Hell, I even tried to install the Windows KB update file and it wouldn't let me due to my system being 32bit. Link to the issue below:

I then also found a user who reported the infamous Error 2; however sadly he did not have the exact same issue although similar. He too ran the analyzer application and it also found no errors. He is also running a similar setup to mine (see specs below). He gets the same error when trying to install the other applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, etc... To this day his issue has not been taken care of. Link to his issue is below:

    Bob -
I know my original post was over a year ago, but unfortunately I wasn't ever able to resolve it.  I worked with tech support over the phone wasting hours of both of our time trying to resolve this problem.  Now when I need to use Acrobat 9 Pro, I have to access it with my laptop and then transfer my work back to my desktop computer in order to use the rest of the CS4 Suite on my desktop.  The crazy thing is I'm running the exact same XP software on my laptop as I run on my desktop and Acrobat on my laptop works great. So I have no doubt that Acrobat works well with 64 bit systems on Vista and 7, but I'm not very confident that by upgrading to a new windows operating system will result with success.  This issue seems so strange to me since I am able to run 50 other applications on my desktop from other software manufacturers and can successfully download new applications from any software manufacture with the exception of Acrobat. If anyone has a similar problem and can figure out a solution, please let me know.

    Solution**********************************************
    Support:
I have figured out the solution to the issue on my own. I usually have the print spooler service disabled on my work PC to combat intellectual property theft. However, I remembered that I once had an issue installing Adobe CS3 Master Collection (Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro). The older generation Adobe software (Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro/CS3) displayed the error that the print spooler service was not started and provided a solution. What is really strange is that the newer software (CS4) simply gives no description of an error and simply outputs "Error 2".
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro included with Adobe CS4 Master Collection will not properly install if the print spooler service is not enabled and started! After the install you can disable the print spooler service as usual, but it is necessary upon installation to have it running. In addition, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 (Free Edition) will install and perform as usual with the print spooler service disabled. I suggest putting this information on your site for others who may experience the same issue in the future.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Installation Error

We have many Windows machines with Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard installed and running without issue, and they can update just fine. When we try to install the newly purchased Acrobat X Standard on these machines, the installation fails at the very end after creating the PDF printers. We have tried letting the Acrobat X installer remove Acrobat 9, and we have also uninstalled Acrobat 9 manually before attempting the Acrobat X install. We are installing with local admin rights.
The error still occurs, and Acrobat X installation fails with :
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {C6357C55-7461-3D51-9AE5-FD71CA24027A}.
    HRESULT : 00x8007051A.
Then we hit OK, the entire installation rolls back and fails. However, we are able to reinstall the Acrobat 9 Standard without issue.
Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

    Good day,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble.  Try the solutions outlined in this document: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1935-install-acrobat-reader.html if you're still having trouble.

    Thank you for the replies.
Jeff, I will check that link and try what is suggests.
    Bill, to answer your questions...
    1. This is a CC installation.
    2. Yes, I am logged in as the admin and I have no anti-virus other than Microsoft Essentials enabled.
    3. This is a download installation.
To give even more info that might help, I am using a Windows 7 machine with more than enough capability to run CC.  I had installed Photoshop, Illustrator, among other apps successfully.  I then tried the Acrobat XI installation.  Acrobat XI downloaded and extracted, but when it started installing it froze around 50% and then I received the installation failed error from Windows.  Once that was confirmed the CC install progress finishes but shows failure.  The More Info reveals the error I pasted in above.  Afterward, none of the CC apps worked properly and had to be uninstalled.  So, next I installed the CC downloader and tried to start installing Acrobat XI first but the same error occurred.  That's when I got frustrated and posted my original message.  My limited knowledge leads me to think the error issue lies in the AcroPro.msi file but I have no idea what that is or how to find, correct, or install it.
Thanks again for any help you can provide.  I'm really frustrated that I'm paying for something that I can't use.

  • Creating an automated silent install of Acrobat using InstallShield Tuner - Part 1

For anyone who has tried to use the InstallShield Tuner application you'll know how buggy the program is and be aware of the lack of support from Adobe. After 4 months working on and off I managed to get a (mostly) working silent install. I thought I would share my findings with everyone so as to help prevent a few headaches.

    ================================
Acrobat 6.0.1 Admin Install Point Creation & Maintenance
    Creating the Install Point
    1. Copy files to the network share that will be your Admin Install Point.
For Acrobat Professional these files are on the Acrobat CD
For Acrobat Reader you will need to download the latest version from www.adobe.com. Adobe is using a new compression package called Netopsystems FEAD Optimizer to deliver its Acrobat Reader application. To extract the files double click the downloaded .exe file and wait until the actual Reader installation begins. The uncompressed files are temporarily stored in %system root%\Cache\Adobe Reader 6.x.x\ENUBIG. Copy these files to the network share.
Once the installation files are copied to the network share select them, right click, choose properties, switch off read-only attribute for all files (inc sub folders).
    2. Install the InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 from Adobe Acrobat
    (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/deployment.html)
    3. Install the software that you intend to create a .MST file for (Acrobat Reader or Pro) and update it to the same version number as the Tuner (6.0.1 at the time of writing). The latest Acrobat can be downloaded from Adobe as can patches for Acrobat Professional.
Note: After further investigation his step may not be necessary.
    4. Due to a bug in the InstallShield Tuner the PCs language and regional settings must all be set to English US. (START Menu Settings Control Panel Regional and Language Options). Set everything to English US.
    5. Run InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 for Adobe Acrobat and when prompted choose Rdr60ENU.itw (for Acrobat Reader) or AcroPro.itw (for Acrobat Writer Pro). These files can be found in the location you specified in step 1.
    Acrobat Reader Configurataion
    1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
    2. Select Adobe Reader 6.0.1.msi as the base .MSI file
    3. Give the .MST file a name
    4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
    5. Configure your install options
    6. File - Save
    Acrobat Writer Pro Configuration
    1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
    2. Select AcroPro.msi as the base .MSI file
    3. Give the .MST file a name
    4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
NOTE: Do not click on the Organisation Product Properties field. If you do the installer will return a transform error when you try to deploy Acrobat. Instead enter these details in the Abcpy.ini file and via the command line. (See step 5)
    5. Amend the Abcpy.ini file as below:
ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (where xxxx is your serial number)
USERNAME=xxxxxxxxxx (where xxxx is the users name)
Company name should be entered from the command line (See Installing Acrobat Writer section below)

  • CS6 Error - Must Upgrade To Newest Version

I am hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having with Photoshop CS6.
I got an error message saying that something is wrong with my Adobe Photoshop CS6 and that I needed to upgrade to the newest version. I didn't think much of this and restarted my computer.  Upon launching CS6 I noticed that naturally curved parts of a photo now look a bit jagged as does any lettering I insert into a photo.  Something is wrong!  I opened several photos in another application everything looks normal.  (I've been out of work for a year now due to some minor medical issues and really can't afford to upgrade to the Cloud right now.)
    1) Does anyone know how to actually talk to a person at Adobe? I called this support number (800-833-6687), but a message says that they don't deal with CS6.
    2) Can CS 6 be reinstalled?
Any other suggestion would be appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Julius Titak

    Gene,
I did exactly what you said about uninstalling Photoshop CS6.  I used this URL: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 .  Everything went fine until I tried to open Bridge...it wouldn't open.  I then updated Photoshop to the newest version. Photoshop 13.0.1 x64 & Camera Raw 9.0.0.414 to see if that helped...Bridge still won't open.  The original problem with Photoshop seems to be solved...Yea!!!  I tried several different ways that I found on the internet to reset the Bridge Preferences, but it still won't open.  The error message reads "Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working."  I've spent about 2 hours trying to figure out how to fix this!  ARGH!!!  I sure hope you can help as this seems to be a problem with the current version of Bridge from what I am reading.
I really don't think it is my computer even though it is a custom built machine.  Note: My cousin has been a professional photographer for 40+ years, and he recommended the company to me that built his computers and networks them.  They really know what they are doing!  I haven't updated my video card in quite awhile, I figure, if it isn't broke...don't fix it or upgrade it.
