Acrobat X Pro - "Select" Button Not Working In IE8

Windows XP, IE8, Acrobat X Pro
The "Select" button on the toolbar was working initially. I didn't use it for a while. Then when I went to use it again, it doesn't work. The button "clicks" (toggles lighter and darker) when clicked, but nothing happens when you try to select things, everything just behaves as if Select is not active.
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix?
I love the Select feature, and would love to get it back.

Touch Select Button not work

Well this thing just will not work and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. Here is the problem.
Music loads fine. Music will play fine.
However, when I go to the menu, and press the middle button, or any button that is suppose to select a menu option such as Music Library, Photos, Video ETC...it doesn't go there..it just goes to Now Playing and picks a random song from the album of the day and plays it. It does this EVERYTIME.
I bought the thing about 8 months ago, and I never used it once I just found a use for it so am desperately wanting to get it working and it won't.
Is this a common problem with an easy fix? What do I do? I tried doing the thing where you hold the power button and press the reset button to reformat or something, and I can get there but the select button doesn't work so I can't select it! But in turn I know the select button DOES work as when I press it it plays a song..just seems screwed up.
PLEASE HELP!

Acrobat 8 pro Trust manager not working ?

Hi I have a problem with version 8 of Adobe Acrobat Pro. Here's a little description of my situation :
I have a set of custom Acrobat Plug-ins and VB.NET application using the Acrobat SDK that can be use on a set of PDF documents to automaticaly generate links (buttons) in the said PDF documents based on the document's content. This is a batch process.
The problem I have is that we have imported some Javascript code (fdf files) in those PDF documents prior to the batch process so each time that one of the PDF is opened in Acrobat 8 we get that security warning popup. when using Acrobat 7, we simply go to the trust manager and select "Allow" as default behavior and the popup does not appear anymore BUT I have some users that have Acrobat 8 installed and even if we select "Allow" for all sites in the trust manager, the damn popup keeps poping ! And I still haven't figured out why !?!?
Does anybody have an idea on this ? anybody had the same problem ?

Ok, f*ck that. I tested with a new installation of Acrobat 8.0.0 and our process works just fine. Then, I installed 8.1.0 update and the Security Warning start poping again and again even when "Allow All" is checked in the trust manager. Didn't find any solution other than reinstalling Acrobat 8.0.0 pro to get rid of the update or installing Acrobat 7 pro which always worked fine.
Damn updates...

Change language in Acrobat XI Pro - It does not work

I installed Acrobat XI Pro using the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) on Windows 7, English. I am on a Creative Cloud subscription, so i have no .exe file to install from.
Acrobat XI Pro defaults the Application Language to English when installing from AAM since Windows is an English version. I want Acrobat XI Pro in Swedish language.
If i go to Acrobat's Preferences > Language and change the Application Language from English to "Choose at application startup" i never get the dialog that should provide me with the option to change language when i re-launch Acrobat XI Pro. If i hold down Shift-Ctrl when launching Acrobat XI Pro i don't get that dialog either.
I see the same issue on three computers, two with Win 7 and one with Win 8. Both OS versions are English.
So, how do i change the Application Language from English to Swedish?

In case anyone else run into the same issue, here is the solution:
1. Add remove programs -> Select Acrobat
2. Then click on Change button present next to Uninstall option. Acrobat setup dialog will be launched.
3. Now select Modify option in Acrobat setup dialog
4. In the dropdown list select View Adobe PDF
5. Select the desired language support
6. Install the required language packs
When i did, i got the dialog that let me change the language next time i launched Acrobat XI.

Middle select button not working correctly?

I have a nano second generation and the select button in the middle is not working correctly. I have to keep pushing it and pushing it to get it to work and now it's not working at all. Any ideas?

Try Restoring it. If that doesn't work you need to have it serviced. You can either take it by an Apple Store and make a Genius Bar appointment or send it here:

Smart Web printing loaded but select button not working

I have used this tool successfully on a previous PC , but I can't get it work on my new one. I have XP and IE 7 installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted and still the same problem.

I seemed to have fixed my issue, you might want to try this.
In Internet Explorer select Tools select Manage Add-ons select Enable or Disable Add-ons and besides enabling Show or HIde HP Smart Web Printing, enable HP Smart BHO Class as selecting this last Add-on cured the problem and the button converted to a cross bar

Acrobat X Pro - Serial will not work

Oh I'd forgotten how god-awful Adobe's customer support was.
Stupid me.

I was unable to update Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 to 10.1.3. Patch error 1328.
So following the instructions.
Uninstalled Acrobat Pro X.
Downloaded new full version.
Installed Full Version
Will not accept Serial Number from original registration on May 12 2012.
Had to install as 30 day trial.
Suggestions please.

I only have one serial number.
It says serial number is wrong when I try to activate Acrobat X Pro..
The instructions to rectify Error Code 1328 in Acrobat X said remove & reinstall.
If they had said remove CS6 I would not bother.
It would be madness to uninstall all of CS6 Web & Design just to update one product that is corrupt.
Insane.
My Photoshop alone has many add ins; it would take two days to reinstall.
What is the solution please ?

DVD Studio Pro-Burn button not working

Hi there. I have video to hand in for class in like 6 hours so i'm in a tight spot here.
I'm running FCP 5 suite on a macbook pro 2.6 ghz intel duo. I've created my DVD just fine in DVD Studio Pro, but as soon as i hit burn, a dialog box comes up immediately saying "formatting successfull" and an "ok" button. Then nothing happens. it doesnt even prompt me for a disc to burn onto.
Please help if you have any ideas.

Quick thing as a workaround to start:
Try to first build the project and see if it is building correctly (open up the folder in Apple DVD Player)
If so try writing to a disc image and burn that as here

Which version of DVD SP are you running? It looks like you may be running a non-Universal Binary version (if it is 4.0.x or lower it is non-Universal)
When you go to the build & format dialog is the burner showing up?

Pdf form created in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended does not function properly when viewed by Reader

Hello all-
I have created a form in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and have an issue because when others view the form in Adobe Reader some of the functions do not work- such as the attach a file button I created, or the save, print buttons (all are execute a menu item). These work on my Acrobat 9 Pro Extended but not on Reader.
I have tried saving many different versions- with security (password) and made sure to allow printing and commenting, editing, digital signatures etc...
Without any security...
Even tried extending features in Adobe Reader!
The response from others is that it all works, except the ATTACH A FILE button- when they click on it it compresses, but, nothing happens!
I don't know what else to do! (I guess people could just attach things to the e-mail that is generated from the submit button, but worried people might forget at that step once they are past that section on the form and they jump to email to submit).

I've already extended the rights and made sure to save to activate that... as well as password protected the docs etc... still nothing...
I am aware that those with Basic Adobe Reader need rights extended to be able to use functions available to Adobe Pro.

IPod touch 5th gen. Home button stuck and power button not working! Please help!

I have an iPod 5th Generation and the home button is jammed down! It felt sticky earlier but now it's stuck down. I used it when the home button wasn't working and had to use my notifications to change from app to app (as I didn't know about assistive touch). I turned it off, but now the power button is no longer responsive! The button isn't stuck, but it doesn't work anymore. It was working fine before, but now it won't respond. Please help!

    Option click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" and then "Caches".
    Look for the folder 'com.apple.Safari"
    Right click "com.apple.Safari" and select "Move to Trash"
    Relaunch Safari.
