Weiß jemand, woran das liegen kann?

  • Acrobat X Pro suddenly no Adobe PDF printer available within applications

I have been using X Pro for 2 months following installation of CS5.5 Premium. I used to be able to print-to-file using the Adobe PDF printer in the print dialog box from within apps such as Word and Finale. Suddenly that option is absent from my print dialog box in all apps.

    Hi Bill,
I'm SO glad I tried your HELP suggestion first because un- and re-installing was going to be my next step and I dreaded it, and now, given the info you provide below, it appears it was a good thing I didn't do it. Thanks for the further information. I keep a log to refer to when gremlins like this pop up and this is going into it ASAP!!!

Great. We often hear of folks having uninstalled and reinstalled and problems not going away. The repair is the first line of defense if you have not been able to track down a problem. The last line is a reinstall. One of the problems with reinstalls is that folks do not clean up the system before the install. That clean up should include removal of all latent folder parts left by Acrobat and also running a registry cleaner (MS used to have one, but it is not longer available -- making CCleaner the typical cleanup). So if you have problems in the future, try to trouble shoot it and come to the forum if you need help. Sometimes, the repair is a quick fix, and lastly with no other answers do the reinstall--BUT with the cleanup along the way. Again, glad it worked for you.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Sudden license issue prevent use

When trying to open a pdf document in Acrobat 9 Pro, I get to open it, but after a few seconds a window pops up, titled: “Licensing for this product has stopped working.”
The message reads: “You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.
    (148:3)”
It is not possible for me to reinstall. My Acrobat 9 Pro started as Acrobat 5 many years ago, and since I have downloaded all version upgrades. I don’t have all the version upgrades anymore, hence I contact you. How to fix?

    Ravi and Virtualmonk1,
    Thanks for your responses.
The licensing repair tool kit worked very well, although when running it, no indication was given that it had performed its job, like "completed", "updated" or similar, which was a little confusing.
My Avira Antivirus indicated no trojans. However, I have experienced several times that various antivirus software give false warnings, because they find some elements of teh software to resemble some trojan behaviour.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro Suddenly Printing Gibberish

Suddenly, Acrobat 7 Pro prints PDF files created in MS WORD as gibberish. I switched printers and got the same results. The files print properly using READER 9.1. Also, the files display properly on the screen in Acrobat 7.
It appears to be a corrupted plist file, but I don't know which one.

That's a guaranteed sign of a conflict between the Print Driver for your Printer and the Version of Acrobat you have.
First upgrade to the very latest version of Acrobat you can for the version you have.
Then go to to Printer website and the the very latest Driver they have.
I'll will almost bet a wooden nickel that you have a Hewlett-Packard Printer.
Adobe and Hewlett-Packard have had a known for years love/hate, yin/yang relationship. Every time Adobe would make a small change to Acrobat code. It would bust HP's Print Driver code. Usually it showed up as diagonal lines from one corner to the other. The only work around is Print as image. (looks like an old time TV that has the Horizontal hold out of adjustment.) as of Lat through Acrobat 8 and 9 they've buried the hatchet apparently.

  • Adobe acrobat x pro suddenly will not open in windows 8

Adobe Acrobat X Pro has been working fine. It suddenly stopped opening at all. It will not open any pdf documents, and the program itself will not open

    Hi 4blake4,
I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue.
Is there any error message or any error code once you launch the application?
If you are using CS6 Suite please follow these steps :-
Launch another CS6 application, such as Photoshop.
    Choose Help > Deactivate.
Follow the onscreen prompts to deactivate.
    Close the application.
Launch the same CS6 Suite product again.
Sign in with your Adobe ID associated with CS6 suite to re-activate.
    Launch Acrobat X

  • Acrobat X Pro (standalone) Won't Start

I'm running Win 7 ultimate w/ 8G mem., plenty of disk space, just bought Acrobat X Pro to replace VIII Pro.
I uninstalled VIII, installed X. Seemed to work but when I clicked on the Acrobat X icon nothing happened. I was running Avira anti-virus. It identified hosts.exe as having malware, but I found out from a search that that was a false positive. Turned off the AV, disconnected from the Web, reinstalled, restarted computer. Same no-start problem. Tried several variations of all this, including using a new download, several clean re-installs, and twice choosing "repair installation" instead of new installation. None of which helped.
Used AdbeArCleaner_v2.exe, got "successful" message, rebooted. Acrobat wtill wont start won't start. It asppears to have installed the printer driver OK and if I click on acrodist.exe, I get a flash screen. If I right click on a PDF and then on Open With and choose Adobe Acrobat, nothing happens. Try it with Adobe Reader, the PDF opens.
What do I need to do to get Acrobat working?
    Thanks,

Got it at www.bestwholesalesoftware.com <Adobe Acrobat X Professional – Best Wholesale Software PC & More>. They sent me a registration code that was accepted.
Adobe LiveCycle ES2, which was apparently part of the installation process, works, but throws an error message when I try to preview the form as a PDF (There was a problem with Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again (1:1).

  • After Win 8.1 upgrade, Acrobat 9 Pro suddenly won't run

I have Web Premium CS4, and Acrobat Pro v. 9.5.5.  I bought a new  Window 8.0 computer 90 days ago, installed the suite, activated, and everything ran fine. Yesterday, I upgraded to Win 8.1. Now, when I open Acrobat Pro, I get a pop-up message saying that it was installed as part of a suite, and to open another program in the suite first. When I click OK, Acrobat closes. I have tried opening nearly every other program in the suite (Bridge, Flash, Photoshop 64-bit), they run OK, but Acrobat will still not run, and there are no activation messages.  I checked my Adobe account, and my version of Acrobat Pro 9 is still listed, with serial number.
I'm very disappointed, as I use Acrobat Pro quite a bit, and currently it will not stay open at all. Other than telephoning Adobe for help (no free support # listed), or using on-line chat (no link available), or e-mailing them (no address listed)...what can I do to "activate" it?
I've tried opening Acrobat Distiller and get the same message, but when I close it, I see a brief flash of what appears to be an input box with activation stuff.  It only appears for half-a-second, so I cannot do anything with it.

Bill, thanks for that info. I don't think I would ever expect to get any support from Adobe on these programs, since I stopped buying revisions after CS4. I was surprised that I was even able to successfully install the CS4 Web suite onto Win 8.0, and Win 8.1 probably adds another couple hundred million lines of redundant code from our friends in Bill Gates-Land.
However, my A-Pro9 problem did resolve unexpectedly!  I tried opening all the suite's programs, one at a time, and then Acrobat, with no luck. Then I realized that the suite had installed both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Photoshop (I use the 64-bit version) onto my new 64-bit computer.  So, when I opened the *32-bit Photoshop* for a minute, closed it, and re-opened Acrobat 9, it went back to working normally.  I'll take it!

    Hey,
With the end of support for Acrobat 9, it might not be possible to find updates there.
You can access Acrobat 9 updates for the version 9.5.5. via the following link:

  • Acrobat X Pro--problems after 6/14/11 update

Has anyone else seen problems with the print cycle after doing the 10.1 (6/14/11) update to Acrobat X Pro?
These only started happening with that update: uninstalling the updated AXPro and reinstalling from the original distribution causes the problems to go away.  But letting the update run from the automatic download always causes these problems to reappear.
(This is on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit; 8-processor i7 with 8Gb RAM and 2.5Tb of disk space; so hardware is not a problem.)
What I'm seeing are two, seemingly related, things:
    1) Having Distiller (from any app or browser) write a PDF into a 'normal' folder with "View Adobe PDF results" checked, causes the PDF to go into that directory as expected.  However, acrobat.exe does not appear to start, and if you go to the output folder and double-click on the file, Reader reports that the file is locked.
On bringing up Windows Task Manager as administrator, going to the Processes tab and then having it "Show processes from all users" reveals that acrobat.exe is indeed running, but it's running as a SYSTEM process, not a user process.  Now, under Windows, SYSTEMS processes cannot be brought forward into the USER space in which the GUI is running (it can't access the user's desktop), so that copy of acrobat.exe cannot come to the desktop.
The solution is to use Task Manager to slam the process (right-click on "Acrobat.exe *32" [*32 means it's still a 32-bit executable], then click 'terminate process'), which kills the hidden Acrobat session.  This frees the PDF so that it can then be hand-opened with a USER-level copy of Acrobat.  This is a royal PITA to have to do after every print job!
    2) Setting Distiller to write the output into an encrypted folder causes the same problem as in 1), however, Distiller also writes bad security data (or errantly causes that bad security data to be written) into those files.  This means that, even after killing the headless Acrobat process, the generated PDF's cannot be opened, no matter how high your security level.  (Nor can you open them if you move them from that encrypted into an unencrypted folder, if the system will permit you to do the move--sometimes it won't because of those screwed up SID's [security ID's].)
I've worked with the internals of the Vista/7 security mechanisms in Windows, but cannot find a way to fix these files.
The only solution is to delete those corrupt PDF files and reprint, this time into a non-encrypted folder, then follow the "solution" for 1).
I filed a bug report on these conditions last week, but haven't received any acknowledgement of that.

Not here. All I can suggest is to DL and install the HP Update 2.6. Photosmart C4680.

  • Acrobat X Pro (Re-)Installation failed

    Hi, I´m Frank
My System is OSX 10.7.5, i have the CS6 Master Collection.
My Problem:Acrobat X Pro was crashing at starting ("An error occurred during activation/deactivation/repair. (Major error code 50030, minor error code 71521, system error code 1").
So I tried to reinstall but each time I got the Error Code 6. For further Solution i tried this: Deleting all Acrobat Plug Ins, Deinstalling Acrobat, Running my mac in safer modus, Running the CS6 installation from HD ... Nothing changed. What to do now?
    Thank You, Frank

    Hi freifrank,
Please use the Cleaner tool ( Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 ) to remove the software completely from the machine.
Reinstall the software and then check.

  • Acrobat X Pro becoming unresponsive

About 2 months ago, I got a new laptop and used the Migration Assistant to transfer all of my files and apps from the older MacBook Pro running OS10.6 to the new MacBook Pro running OS10.8.  Everything was working well until about a week ago when my Adobe Acrobat X Pro (v10.1.7) started to freeze on me. Without warning.  I would need to do a “force quit” and re-launch Acrobat, and then it would work for a few more operations.  Now, it has gotten to the point where the program becomes unresponsive almost immediately and can’t be used.  I haven’t installed any new software recently, so I don’t think I’ve somehow created a conflict, and since Acrobat was working normally for 2 months, I don’t think the problem involves using my current version with OS10.8.  Do you have any suggestions?  For example, should I uninstall the current version of Acrobat X (as well as my previous Acrobat 8, which is still on the machine), and then reinstall Acrobat X from my old disk and do a software update to bring my version of the software back up to date?   Thanks.

If you were on a PC, I would suggest you go to Help>Repair. Apparently the MAC does not have that option. There was a post recently about repairs on a MAC version with posts from Phillip Jones. You might want to look for his posts.
