Acrobat X Pro Virtual Printer

I just install Acrobat X pro for mac on iMac 10.6.5.  Everything went smoothly with one exception.
I wasn't able to add the Acrobat virtual printer that was there in other versions.
Is it no longer available?  If so how do I create the printer?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
I am running Acorbat X.  Does thie KB article refers to Acrobat 9.  Does it also apply to Acrobat X?

  • Acrobat XI Pro update / print spooler problem

Running Acrobat XI Pro on Windows XP Pro 5.1 sp 3..
-- Acrobat tries to update 11.0.02. I see the icon in the Windows tray for a long time. I open the Acrobat Updater, and it is stuck on "Service to stop:  Print Spooler."
-- It was like that for about a day ... maybe two... then it gave the 'Install Failed" error, and, if I remember correctly, gave the error message 1602.
-- When I looked up the error, the stated remedy was to try again but using the Help --> Check for Updates menu item inside Acrobat (instead of letting automatic updater do it).
-- So I did that yesterday evening, about 10 hours ago, and currently, the install is still stuck on "Service to stop: Print Spooler."
This actually happened once before some months ago, and I forget what I did to fix or end the situation... but whatever that was, I'm not finding it now.
    Help?

Please follow the steps mentioned here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1602-update-acrobat-reader.html

  • How to setup a four page PDF in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to print only one of four pages?

    Hello,
I have a request from a end-user to setup a four page PDF in Adobe Acroat 9 PDF to only allow printing of one specific page of the four page PDF.
The end-user will abe able to view the four pages in the PDF - however - the PDF would only allow printing of one page.  The PDF would need to be pre-set for the end-user.  Is there a setting Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to allow this type of specific pre-set printing.
I appreciate your help.  I hope to hear from you soon.

    No, Acrobat can't do that.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Install Printer Help?

    Hello All,
Everytime I install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro I loss my printer connection. When I uninstall it I get my printer connection back.
Anyone have any ideas? I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a Dell V305. I have all the software updated on both.
    Thanks for your help!

Do you have the serial number for your Acrobat 6 Pro and is your Acrobat 9 Pro an upgrade??
In case yo do not have the serial number , and your Acrobat 9 Pro is an upgrade you should not uninstall acrobat 6 otherwise you will be struck at the Upgrade serial number screen and then you will ave to call Customer Support.
If you have the serial number for Acrobat 6 , then you can uninstall it , if , in case , you get the prompt for upgrade serial number , you will have to selct the product from the drop down as Acrobat 6 Pro and enter its serial number there.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Print to PDF setup on Windows 7 64bit???

    Hello,
I recently purchased a high-end laptop, running Windows 7 64-bit OS. I've installed my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended software but it will not be recognized as a print option under the printers setting. Is there an update to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, which fixes this problem? What can be done to have Acrobat show up as a print option? I bought the top of the line Acrobat so that I could MAKE PDF's. This program is completely useless to me if I cannot make PDF's with it!!!
ANY help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Which version. I think it is a minimum of AA9.2 that is needed for X64. Anyway, you should probably either open Acrobat and do the update (help menu) or download all of the updates from Adobe>downloads>updates and install them in order. The current version is AA9.3.4.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Slow Printing Problem on Dell 3000cn

I have just downloaded Acrobat 9 Pro as a trial, I want to buy it but not if this problem continues - maybe there is a fix??
I have Acrobat 9 Pro installed on my local machine and I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. I have a networked (through a server) printer it is a Dell 3000cn that I print several emailed PDF files on everyday. Since downloading this new program (it required me to remove all other versions of Adobe prior to install - which I did) it seriously takes 2 minutes from when I hit the print button to actually open the printer selection screen. Once I have selected the printer (in this case it is the 3000cn - it is the only color printer) it takes another 2 minutes to actually print the document. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by a process taking so long but I have to do this with an average of 20-30 documents per day (which means that I end up spending around 1 1/2 hours trying to print).
I have combed through the forums here and can't find anything that helps my specific problem. I have checked with Dell and they say that the printer does not have a PostScript driver (which I have read may help my problem)...
    Any ideas??

Make a local printer your DEFAULT and see if that helps
I only use a local printer (with version 8x) so didn't keep the link, but there is previous discussion about problems if you don't have a local printer as default... and, if I remember correctly, a link to download a "dummy" printer driver which you may install and set as default

  • Acrobat 7 Pro Suddenly Printing Gibberish

Suddenly, Acrobat 7 Pro prints PDF files created in MS WORD as gibberish. I switched printers and got the same results. The files print properly using READER 9.1. Also, the files display properly on the screen in Acrobat 7.
It appears to be a corrupted plist file, but I don't know which one.

That's a guaranteed sign of a conflict between the Print Driver for your Printer and the Version of Acrobat you have.
First upgrade to the very latest version of Acrobat you can for the version you have.
Then go to to Printer website and the the very latest Driver they have.
I'll will almost bet a wooden nickel that you have a Hewlett-Packard Printer.
Adobe and Hewlett-Packard have had a known for years love/hate, yin/yang relationship. Every time Adobe would make a small change to Acrobat code. It would bust HP's Print Driver code. Usually it showed up as diagonal lines from one corner to the other. The only work around is Print as image. (looks like an old time TV that has the Horizontal hold out of adjustment.) as of Lat through Acrobat 8 and 9 they've buried the hatchet apparently.

  • Acrobat X pro pdf printer missing/ puzzle re forum fixes

Licensed Acrobat X pro installed; but no pdf printer.
    Attempted workaround
    <http://blogs.adobe.com/dmcmahon/2012/06/04/acrobat-pdf-printer-missing-after-installation- on-windows-64-bit/>
Solution 1 repair --did not work
Solution 2 --Uninstall and reinstall: I installed as part of CS5.5...do I have to unistall entire or just Acrobat?
Solution 3:  I am copying below with notes as to what didn't show up
    Manually install the PDF Printer
Click Start >  Control Panel > Devices and Printers
    Select Add a printer
    Select Add a local printer
Check Use an existing port and select Documents\*.pdf (Adobe PDF) from the drop down.  Click Next
[No such file on 'existing port.' attempted using NITRO pdf which came with this new lenovo machine [but never availbale and not installed --jst recommended, although this file exists  < NitroPDF Port: (local port) > which I attempt]
    Click the Have Disk… button
    Click the Browse… button
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF
Select AdobePDF.inf from the list if using Acrobat Pro, or AdobePDFstd.inf if using Acrobat Std, then click the OK button
    [this files exists]
You will see many Adobe PDF Converters in the list, however count six down from the top and click Next (you may need to try this numerous times to find the correct Converter from the list that works with your version of Windows)
    [Attempted six down--no dice].
Name your printer, e.g. Adobe PDF
Follow the rest of the prompts and your PDF printer should now be installed correctly
If you are later prompted for the ADPDF9.PPD file, it can be found in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\<OS version> folders.
[Once I hit 'test' print it states  < Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrotray.exe'.
BUT i'm not using Acrobat 11.0!
    Any ideas, o wise ones?
    best,
    skylar1

    Hello All,
    I just figured this out--
I installed updates in the Help tab, and the files required, including pdf printer were installed.
    Works!
I realize that this is a gen behind in software but I am running legacy large format printers and the newest is not the best in this application.
    Hope this helps....

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro not printing correctly

Having issues with printing through Adobe Acrobat X Pro. For some reason, sometimes when i am printing pdfs, they will come out looking different from what is on screen. It looks as though it is compressing the pdf to a smaller size, although the images and fonts are the same size. It's basically changing the spacing on the paper. One of the documents is a fill in form for customers so it looks very strange that all the lines are spaced differently when the document is set up properly. The other weird thing is that it doesn't do it every time. It's hit or miss. Printing from the same HP LaserJet Pro 500 and haven't touched a single setting on the printer or in Acrobat. Any ideas?

I don't think it's page scaling. Here's the settings below. It's not scaling it down proportionally. The document has about 1.5 inches of space at the bottom
and when printed sometimes there is 3 inches of space and it isn't all of the line spacing that is decreased, only some of them. That's the strage part. It doesn'ty alter the size of the whole document, just random parts of it. I will probably switch the auto portrait/landscape option, but that shouldn't affect this.

  • Acrobat X Pro - pdf printer

    hi
I install on my mac (leopard 10.5.8) Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
but i haven't any pdf printer in Preferences->Printer
how I print with acrobat pdf printer as the same on Acrobat 9 Professional?

The proper method to set up is in the original Document.
I've just tested this out. It use to be that you could use page setup with Acrobat.
Since Acrobat 9 the setup menu has been rendered useless, then in Acrobat X it was totally removed.
I created a test Pdf in Word 2011. I  setup for a 4by6"  Card (like you print Recipes on).
Then I went to Print Menu and choose PDF > Adobe PDF. Then when I chose location and saved file. Acrobat opened up and the PDF was 4by6" Card format.
Whatever  WordProcessor you use set page set up there for A4 create your Document choose adobe PDF, under the PDF button in the Print menu. save your PDF document.
When you open your PDF it will be in the proper format.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro not Printing Some Layers

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having printing layered acrobat files.  Many of my layers are not printing for some reason.  This only happens on page 1 of a two page pdf.  This is happening on Acrobat 7 pro on both Windows XP and Windows 7.  It happens on several computers but for some strange reason it behaves on a third computer.
    Thanks in advance, Stephen

  • Acrobat X Pro Only Prints First Page

I have several multipage PDFs that I am trying to print to my HP LaserJet 5si MX. I am on OS X 10.6.5 with all the latest updates applied. When printing, only the first page prints and then the printer queue clears as though the whole document printed.
The PDFs print fine in their entirety from Preview. I tried Reader 7.0.7 which also works fine.
Reader X has the same problem as Pro.
I checked for update printer drivers, but they are included with OS X and HP has no updates.
    Thanks for any help!

I have had the same experience. My HP 4050 reported "Insufficient memory" after printing the first page. The PDF was created with Acrobat Pro X by combining PDFs sent as attachments. The file is 238 KB, and is printed without difficulty using Acrobat Pro 9.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro - partial printing under Windows 7 x64 - any ideas?

    Hi,
I've recently installed Acrobat 8 Professional as part of the CS3 Master Collection on a PC running Windows 7 x64.
Now, I'd read up about this in advance and found the dll file adobepdf.dll_64 prior to installation, but I was never asked for it. The installation ran to a successful conclusion without ever prompting me for the missing file. After installation I compared the installed file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AMD64\AdobePDF.dll with the .dll_64 version I'd extracted and they were identical.
Initially, everything seemed to be working fine, I was mostly using Acrobat as a reader, but I was occasionally generating small PDF files - no more than half-a-dozen pages - through applications like MS Word. This worked - and still works - fine, but I've noticed a problem now I've come to start exporting much larger files to PDF.
If I print a long report from MS Access to the Adobe PDF "printer", then the standard "Printing..." box pops up as does a dialog box for me to enter the name of the resulting PDF file. At this point the Distiller window (with the title "Creating Adobe PDF") opens and both the printer dialog in MS Access and the Distiller window start counting through the pages as they always do.  However, without fail, usually at somewhere between around 50 and 90 pages (but it varies each time I print, even if re-printing the exact same thing) the Distiller window stops counting pages and just stalls. The application's printer dialog carries on working its way through the pages until it gets to the end of what it's supposed to be printing. Eventually the Distiller window closes and the log file opens up automatically in Notepad. Aside from the exact page number at which it stops, the contents of the file is always the same. For example:
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
    %%[Page: 1]%%
    %%[Page: 2]%%
    .  <snipped>
    %%[Page: 84]%%
    %%[Page: 85]%%
%%[ Error: invalidfileaccess; OffendingCommand: showpage ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
The same kind of thing happens in InDesign (the only other application I could think of quickly where I had a document with a large number of pages which I could try to output) and that fails in a similar way whether I print the document to the Acrobat printer or Export it to PDF format.
However, the problem doesn't seem to be application related, instead there seems to be a cut-off point at around 30 pages. If I print (or export) to PDF something of no more than 30 pages (or I restrict the printing of something longer so that it outputs 30 pages or fewer) then the PDF file is nearly always generated OK.  If I go up to about 50 pages, most of the time it all appears to work OK but no file is produced. And more than 50 then the Distiller window stalling thing occurs.
I've updated all the applications in CS3 to the latest versions, so Acrobat Professional is now on version 8.2.3.
I know there are issues running Acrobat Professional 8 under Windows 7 x64, but I've not read of this specific problem in relation to that, so I wondered if that might be a red herring and there is a solution to this.
    Thanks.

Just for the record, in case anyone else comes looking for a solution to the same problem, the issue appears to be with my Kaspersky Anti-Virus software. By setting a check mark against most of the exclusions in the Kaspersky application control for Acrobat Distiller everything now seems to be working OK.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my original posting.

  • Acrobat 9 pro form printing

just getting started with filling in forms in my new acrobat 9 professional program.  I've filled o
ut the form, saved it, but when I try to print I only get the BLANK form
(no edits).  Tried printing as image; only shows uncompleted form.  Despite removing the highlighted fields option, my edits remain highlighted on the saved form but when I click on print, it shows a blank form.  Tried printing in black only; doesn't work.  When I do print review, I only see the blank form.  I'm stumped.  I need to get this form completed and sent back to the originator

Did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem.

  • Printer prints some PDF objects as filled (but shows borders only in preview). Print as image helps, but not for all computers. Acrobat X Pro, OCE printer.

We create PDF from Autocad using Adobe PDF printer. When printing that PDF file to OCE printer, some drawing objects are printed as filled (but Acrobat shows correctly - border only). If I open the PDF with Internet browser, I can see those objects as filled as well. If I print the PDF as image from some, not all computers - it prints ok, not filled.
