Acrobat X pro won't run

I am on Windows 7 64 bit and have CS6 - in particular Acrobat X pro.  The program simply won't start.  I double click on a PDF and nothing happens.  I try to start Acrobat from the start menu and nothing happens.  I have "repaired" the installation and still nothing.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Rob

What's the error message?
Did you try installing the newest version of AAM?
Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager
If there is not an error message then you probably want to uninstall with the Acrobat Cleaner Tool and try again.

  • Acrobat X Pro won't start

Acrobat X Pro (10.1.6) won't start after Windows update on 3/13/13. Running Windows 7. I do not have CS6 and the Acrofix download does not solve the problem. I have reinstalled the software, applied Adobe updates (at least what I could find) and updated all Dell drivers. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

Thanks Bill. I did try the repair first before I reinstalled the first
time. I’ll give another go and try the cleaner as well.

  • Acrobat XI Pro Won't Convert 206 Page Word Document into PDF

    Hi there
As menetioned above, Acrobat XI Pro Won't Convert my 206 Page Word Document into a PDF.  The Word document was originally a PDF file that I converted to Word and it has split all the text into sections.
It sounds like converting a PDF into Word isn't the best way to edit, re-format and then save as a PDF again.  I would love to hear your advice on this.
Thanks very much for your help!
    Fiona

First before you recreate the PDF from the Word Document.
    In word: Open Document
Next open a new Blank docment
switch back to Word click on the ¶ button
scroll to of go to very end of docment.
click just to right of the perion in the last sentence.
now go to very beginning of document
Hold down the Shift and click to the right of first letter in document.
    Now choose copy.
    Now switch to Blank document
    Choose Paste special.
    Now choose Text only.
If works all the words will be there spaced correct but with no ¶'s.
    Now insert returns as desired.
Now save as a docx file under a different name.
IF you are on a Mac use the following directions:
go to File menu > Print > PDF Hold down PDF button until Context menu pops up.
    Choose adobe PDF.
follow steps when the first window opens.
Save as PDF in desired location.
Now open the PDF in Acrobat. Document should be properly formatted and ready to go.
AS you've found The conversion is not seamless. Acrobat doesn't distingish between automatic end of line breaks and Returns and you have to put the pieces back again.  I wish Adobe and MS would get over the jealouscy of each other and share howcode works so Thatapplications could work seamlessly together.  BUt they never will.

  • Acrobat X Pro won't open.  Even after a reinstall - what can I do?

My Acrobat X Pro won't open - even after a reinstall.  What can I do?

Thanks Jeff - what's strange is that I've been prompted a few times since installation to register the software, so I don't know why it would be doing that if it's already registered.
When prompted, I would follow the links to the registration information page, and then work through the registration process, and then when prompted to enter the serial code it does not accept it. I've tried the serial code that came with the license, as well as the serial codes for the individual products (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), and none of those were accepted by the registration form. So "registering to an account which includes your companies information would be sufficient." does not seem to be working for me, unless there is more to "including the companies information" then I've seen in the sign up pages.
To be clear, I'm not fumbling around blindly here, I've done a lot to try and register the product myself and have yet to succeed.
My questions are these (and apologies if this is not directly related to the OT), 1) is there a way to confirm the product is registered, 2) if it is not registered, what specifically do I need to tell the purchasing people to do to make sure it is registered properly, and 3) after following the process here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html - does this fix the Acrobat issue for good, or will I have to repeat this process in another 30 days? Does lack of registration potentially affect other products in the Web and Design Creative Suite?
Thanks again for the assistance, I'm hoping to get enough information to be able to give our IT folks a clear resolution to the registration issue.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro won't convert Publisher docs to PDF

How are you trying to convert?
Are you using the File-Print function, and selecting the Acrobat printer?

  • I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder.  This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher".  I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.

I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder.  This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher".  I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.
I even pulled the dmg file into the Logic Studio folder in my applications directory and it still does not recognize it.  What do I do now?

    Niel:  Thanks.
For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder.  It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works.  Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution:  I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm.

  • Acrobat XI Pro won't activate on Windows 8.1

Acrobat XI Pro won't activate on Windows 8.1 after loading from DVD.  The serial number is recognized as valid, but the Acrobat version choices that are listed don't include Acrobat XI Pro.

It is possible you are installing an upgrade and it is asking you to provide information for the previous version that you already own.  When you purchase an upgrade you are normally asked for which version you already own and the serial number for it as well.

    Hey kalymi,
You might need to refer this kb file and try resolving the issue:

  • HELP!  Adobe Acrobat X Pro won't open

I have Adobe Creative Suite 6 and it comes with Acrobat X Pro.  It won't open anymore.  If I uninstall and reinstall it, it works fine.  But after a while, it stops working again.  When trying to open a PDF file or launch just program itself, nothing happens at all.  Not errors, no pop-ups.  I see the process open then close immediately in the Task Manager.  I have installed Adobe Reader just so I can open PDF files, which works.  However, I cannot use Acrobat for the more advance features.

    Hi chthao,
How frustrating! Since you got Acrobat as part of CS6, let's start with the troubleshooting tips in this document: Doesn't launch after 30 days | Installed as part of a CS6 suite.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,

  • Acrobat X Pro won't open at all after installing on new computer. Please help! It is from the CS6 Suite

Hi, Can anyone help me? I had to change my computer, so I re-installed my whole CS6 Suite. Everything works except my Acrobat X Pro... It won't even open!! I am using a Windows 7 PC ... I even had Dell try and help me... the only thing they where able to do was help me be able to see .pdf docs in Reader! But I can't open a document, or create one, block sensitive info, nothing!

Hi Lisley56, I found the solution there is a Plug in for Acrobat X Pro that came with Adobe Suite CS6... I downloaded it and that did it!!! It's called "Acrofix". Try looking it up in the Adobe website!!! I hope it works!!

  • Why does Acrobat 9 Pro refuse to run Form Designer?

I have recently installed Acrobat 9 Pro. When I try to run the Form Designer, it throws an error with the message that there has been an unhandled Exception in Win32 FormDesigner.exe [2548].
I have looked for this on the Web but found nothing. I have also done a Repair re-installation with no change.
I am running XP Pro Service Pack 3, and have 4 GB RAM (3 GB available to apps). My cpu is an Intel Core Duo T9600 running at 2.80 GHz.
Is this a bug in Acrobat or is it likely to be a conflict with, perhaps, my graphics card? The latter is an NVidia GeForce G 105M.
    Thanks.
    Bartelmy

I have found the answer: there is plainly a bug in the retail version of Acrobat 9 Pro (as distributed by Amazon, anyway). I found a web thread dealing with problems relating to the Form Designer, and, in the context of a somewhat different issue, it suggested updating, so I went for the update to 9.3.0 (475 MB so a hefty operation). This automatically installed after the download and, hey presto, the Forms module now runs normally.
So - if you have a problem with the Forms Designer throwing unhandled exceptions, download the update to 9.3.0.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro won't launch

I have installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro as part of Creative Cloud.
Right after downloading and installing Acrobat will launch just fine.  After a few days it will not launch and will only create a process in windows task manager.
    Any help please.
I am running Windows 7, and I only purchased Creative Cloud 2 weeks ago, so it have been less than the 30 days trial period.
    Thanks

All I can suggest at this point is to go to Control Panel>Programs & Features and click on Acrobat. You will get an option to repair. When you have finished with the repair (assuming it works), then go to Help>Updates and update your installation. You can also download the update from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install 11.0.06. Last I checked, 11.0.06 will update all the way back to 11.0. This is not always the case, so looking at the last version that is needed to do updates is always a good idea.

  • 17" MacBook Pro won't run on AC power

Ok, this is a unique situation and I have searched the forums and can't find an answer, my early MacBook pro will not run on straight AC power, it will power up and run on battery power and the battery WILL charge while the machine is powered OFF but will not charge while the machine is on, so anybody have a solution?
Will run on battery power, will not run with battery removed on AC Only, battery will charge with AC adapter ONLY when machine is powered down, will NOT charge when machine is on.
    Thanks for your help

Ok, booted into safe mode still same results , won't run on AC power, turn unit off light turns orange on power adapter and battery charges as normal, AC adapter plugged in light is green not charging while  unit in on and will not run with battery removed, if I remove MagSafe it intermittently turns orange then back to green....Still perplexed as machine knows AC adapters connected and will charge but will not power or charge when unit is on.

  • Acrobat X Pro won't launch

My adobe 5 suite keeps updating and last month after update, Acrobat no longer launches.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled just Acrobat and still get same problem.  I can launch PDFs in Reader.  But nothing happens with Acrobat X Pro.

Try going to the Control Panel>Programs..., how ever you might do that in WIn 8.1 -- I guess from the settings menu. Select Acrobat X and do a repair. If that allows you to open Acrobat, then go to help and run the updates or use the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
