Acrobat X SharePoint Integration - error on check in

My users are consistenly seeing an error when they attempt to check in a pdf. I have established that this is due to our use of a SharePoint 2010 Managed Metadata column, and I've seen some indication that there is a known issue with these. Can anyone confirm this, and does anyone have a workaround?
Thanks

Hi Msnny...I'd love to know the answer to this too. But it seems that despite proudly proclaiming SharePoint integration Acrobat X 10 is in fact anything but integrated with SharePoint. I can find no reference anywhere as to what is and isn't supported (please can we have one!?), but you can safely assume that managed metadata columns are the source of your problem and that attempting to save a PDF back to SharePoint, even when not changing any of these values will give you the invalid properties error. Your only workaround is to download PDFs from SharePoint, edit them locally then move back to SharePoint using the upload option / same filename - your users are just going to love that!

  • SSRS SharePoint Integrated error, User cannot be found

We currently have setup an SSRS in SharePoint 2013 integrated mode. We got the error message below when we removed a user from the Groups and Members. I have found from searching the web that this is a bug that happens whenever the report creator has been
removed or deleted from the SharePoint site
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SharePointException: Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. ---> Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException:
    User cannot be found.
Since we are already using SharePoint 2013, I would have thought that this bug has already been fixed. I think it is pretty common to have the report creators leave the company and as a security to remove their profiles from the SharePoint site. Microsoft,
is there a solution to this?

    Hi Blusil,
Just as you said, this issue always occurred when user(s) missing or removed from the site that either authored or modified the report(s). As per my understanding, the solution of the issue is adding the user accounts back to the site or change the user
to another one in the site.
If the user had left the company, we can refer to the second solution that override the owner field using PowerShell for that report:
    http://alexbrassington.com/2013/11/07/changing-modified-and-created-details-in-sharepoint/
    Hope this helps.

  • Acrobat Reader X integration with SharePoint 2010

I recently upgraded from Acrobat Pro 9.x to Acrobat Reader X (10.1.2) to test out the new SharePoint integration features. Per the Enterprise Admin Guide, I added the line to my DocIcon.xml file to handle the ".pdf" extension, added the PDF icon to my server, verified that the WebDAV module wasn't present in IIS, and then restarted my SharePoint server.
When I click on a PDF document from a SharePoint document library, however, I receive an error message that reads, "There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
Some things I have already tried to remedy the problem:
I have full rights to the SharePoint Server and the document library in question.
I verified that the WebClient Windows service is running locally on my machine.
Clicking on "Edit Document" from the document library's item context menu produces the same error message.
    What am I missing?

  • SharePoint 2010 - Acrobat X Standard integration issue

I don't see the "File > SharePoint Server" option on one computer and would like to know what settings to change.
I go to the SharePoint library, click the drop-down arrow, Check Out.  I get prompted to "Open, Save, or Cancel" and no option for "Checkout & Open".  The pdf opens in Adobe Acrobat.  When I click the File tab, I do not see the "SharePoint Server" option.  The issue is isolated on this computer.
I've checked the registry setting to make sure that SharePoint integration is not disabled.  This computer runs Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, Acrobat X Standard, IE 8.  The other computer where the integration works also has the same versions.
    Please advise.

Granted that my post is many months after the original, but I am surprised by lack of troubleshooting document available for SharePoint integration.  Similar posts on this forum are answer-less.  My scenario:  From the same client machine, the SharePoint Server menu will appear for one SharePoint farm/address and not for another.  My assumption at this point is that this rules out client and/or browser settings or dependencies.  Here's hoping that a more current "me too" post on this forum may generate some response from Adobe, or a kind soul that has travelled this road before.

  • Sharepoint and SSRS integration Error Requested registry access is not allowed.

I have integrated SSRS with sharepoint foundation 2010, it was running fine but suddenly its starts giving me error as -
"An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the Reporting Services Service Application mapped to this web application is available OR the report server is available
and configured for SharePoint Integrated mode. --> The report server cannot decrypt the symmetric key that is used to access sensitive or encrypted data in a report server database. You must either restore a backup key or delete all encrypted content. --->

content. ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed."
Now i am not able to read reports or cant access all database options in sharepoint,it says
    registry access is not allowed
I tried to reset encryption key and allowed all access to registry keys buts its giving same error .
Please suggest me what should i do now, i stuck here...

    Hi Bhagyashri,
From your description, there have two questions in the environment:
"Requested registry access is not allowed" while access SharePoint sites
and "The report server cannot decrypt the symmetric key that is used to access sensitive or encrypted data in a report server database" while viewing reports
For the first issue, the cause is the SharePoint web service account can't access some registry keys.
For the second issue, the cause is that the report database was restored from another server, and the encryption key was not restored correctly.
    To fix the issue, please:
    Follow "solutions" in this article
http://blogs.technet.com/b/spsforum/archive/2011/11/02/quick-solution-5-requested-registry-access-is-not-allowed.aspx to fix "Requested registry access is not allowed"
Restore the encryption key again, or please delete the key and then reset every credential setting in SSRS data source connection

  • Cannot ENABLE SharePoint Integration.

Our organization has a Sharepoint 2013 deployment and uses Acrobat Pro XI.  We use document libraries with with check in/check out and verioning enabled.  When opening a PDF from within a library, the document opens in Acrobat without issue but we do not receive any prompts to check the document out.  This prevents us even from manually checking out the document in sharepoint, opening the document, saving the document back to sharepoint because Acrobat tries to save it to a local AppData Temp directory.   I've seen a thousand answered posts about how to DISABLE SharePoint integration, but I'm just looking to get this functionality in the first place.  The problem could be related to a SharePoint setting but I cannot cind such a setting.  Our office documents prompt for checkout when opened as they should - Just not PDFs.
***Some additional information:  From Acrobat, if I click  File>Open, then select "open from online account"  and connect to my sharepoint server I can check in and out, but some of our libraries are over 9GB and cause Acrobat to crash every time I try to open the library, so this is apparently not an option for us (although it would be nice!!!).
    Thanks!

This is a user to user forum and the responding staff are volunteers (not on the support team).
SharePoint integration is of course supported as indicated by all the documentation, and it does work for most customers. Troubleshooting the problem here is more complex than other issues because it involves integrating two enterprise products and working with files across a network. There are literally thousands of possible environments and factors which could affect the functionality. It's difficult to fix issues that can't be reproduced internally.
While it looks like some of the issues above have found solutions, the original one has not for some users. More environment details may be required. Here are some troubleshooting steps to double check first:
Have an admin configure the server and clients as specified in the Admin Guide.
    Use a supported browser.
Enable the "Adobe Acrobat Sharepoint OpenDocuments Component" and "Adobe PDF Reader" add-ins in IE.
Verify this folder exists on the server: %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\<version>\TEMPLATE\XML
Verify Doclcon.xml exists in the above location.
    Verify this line is correct: <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="icpdf.png" EditText="Acrobat Reader" OpenControl="AdobeAcrobat.OpenDocuments" OpenApp="AcroRd32"/>
Determine if the problem affects all users or some users. The former would likely indicate a server issue while the latter points to a client-side issue.
Verify you have write permissions to any location the Acrobat product or SharePoint needs to write to.
If you can't edit a PDF, check its security properties via Open File > Properties > Security.
If clicking on a PDF document in a SharePoint library shows the error "There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.", then update SharePoint. See the Microsoft Technet Forum:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointgeneral/thread/49aed23c-cf9c-43 39-8c17-ff1df65649a6/.
If the "Check Out and Open" PDF files in document libraries menu item is not present, make sure the latest is SharePoint update is not the March cummulative update for SP 2013. Microsoft confirmed a bug in that update. See https://forums.adobe.com/message/6579072#6579072

~~ Mark it as Answer if you find it correct~~

    Hi Sandeep,
    Thanks for your feedback.
I haven’t find any documentation illustrate this limitation, it’s just my experience,  I have a report which contains a muti-value parameter, it contains 500 value items and the length of each value is equal or greate than 10 characters, when I select
all parameter values, there is no response when I click the apply button, however, when I only select several items in it, the report showing fine, I could not sure your issue is the same with mine, it’s just my conclusion. If your issure is not related to
the length of the selected parameter, just occures to certain users even they selected with the same parameter values with the other users who run fine with this report, then this reply should not adapt to your scencario, it is so unbeliveable it is not working
only for certains users, I have not experience this issue before, and the information you provided is so limited that I could not address the root cause of your issue.

  • RoboHelp 9/Acrobat X Pro Integration with Outlook 2010

Is anyone aware of any issues with RoboHelp 9 and/or Acrobat X Pro integrating with Outlook 2010? When I create a PDF for review using RoboHelp and then try to send it for shared review, I keep getting an error message when I try to add people to the To and CC lists in the Send for Shared Review dialog. Clicking either button brings up my Address Book from Outlook, and I can select people without any problems, but whenever I click OK, I get a Check Names dialog book that says:
Microsoft Outlook does not recognize"/O=Company Name", Select the address to use:
         (No Suggestions)
At this point, all I can do is go back to the Address Book and try to add people again, but this leads to the same error.

In Outlook, go to File/Options/Add-Ins, and select Manage Com Add-ins, and click Go...
Then make sure the PDFMaker Office COM Addin is checked, select OK, restart, and it should be available.

  • Urgent Please: Cannot publish Reports to the Sharepoint Integrated - Reporting Services Login

    Hi,
    Sharepoint 2010 / SQL Server 2008 R2
The user I am using in BIDS to deploy the reports has Admin permission to the site collection and databases.
Reporting Services Login prompt all times and I can´t go ahead to publish the reports.
I ve reviewed my deployment properties -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb283155(SQL.90).aspx
The same test works to my dedicated server (Sharepoint and SQL Server in the same machine) but not to the enviorement bellow:
Server 1 - SSED, SSAS, SSRS, Sharepoint Web Front (minimal installation)
Server 2 - Sharepoint Server 2010 (SSRS Sharepoint Integration Mode)
I´ve read all the discussions and articles I couldn´t find anything conclusive.
    Please, any clues?!
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex Berenguer

Hi Syed, thank you so much for your help. I have already spent many hours in order to solve this issue but nothing so far.
The Web Application I created to test it has a Business Intellicente Center as Site Collection. The Report Services features is running on it. I checked it. Thanks.
Follow more details I ´ve discovered:
    Here's the scenario:
I have a Web Front End (WFE) server, and an Application Server (AS) in a Sharepoint 2010 Farm.  The configuration database, content database, etc.. are located on a clustered SQL 2008 R2 instance on another set of machines.  I have installed SQL
2008 R2 Reporting Services w SP1 on the AS.  I have installed the SQL 2008 Reporting Services Add-In for Sharepoint 2010 on the WFE.  I have gone through all the configuraiton settings, set the SPNs for the service accounts, etc... The Excel Services
with external data, for example, is working fine.
When the reporting services integration is set to "Trusted Account", I can deploy reports to the server with no problem, EXCEPT that I can't deploy data sources that use "Windows Authentication" as their credentials, which is desirable for our implementation.
When I switch the reporting services instance to "Windows Authentication", I can no longer deploy projects to the report server.  When I go to deploy the reports, I continually get a "Reporting Services Login" prompt, showing the server it is being deployed
to, and requesting a username and password.  No combination of username and password works.
Here's a fun little bit for you too, if I continue to try to login to the server, I will eventually (after hitting the GPO threshold) lock out my account from Active Directory.  This I found out after nearly creating a set of tracks down my scalp all
day today trying to figure out what was happening to my sharepoint sites while I was debugging this....
So it seems that it is trying to authenticate my login credentials through BIDS, but is unable to do so.
Also, when I attempt to "Manage Datasource" directly through the Sharepoint interface I am getting 401 errors.
    I appreciate any assistance.
    Thanks a lot.

Check in content repositories, just check if the repository which u tryin to Check In the document(CAD file) is giving u response..
