Acrobat X Standard from Dell (download)

I have a 3 month old Dell XPS 15 running win7 64 bit Home Premium. At time of purchase I had the option of having Acrobat X (& Distiller) pre installed. Now when purchasing this is £20 but when i purchased my XPS it was on offer for a limited period for free. I duly ticked the box. The system arrived but came damaged so was returned and replaced immediately.
The system came with the adobe software installed ok but i had some error messages when trying to update so decided to reinstall hence needed reinstallation media or a download.
I have since fixed the update but still want the installer in case of future problems. I have searched the forum and read other posts here:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/823236 and http://forums.adobe.com/message/4661222#4661222 and http://forums.adobe.com/message/4451504#4451504
Dell failed to include any licence number with my replacement system nor any reinstallation media. I registered the software with my adobe ID and in my products it shows the licence number which i have saved. Does Acrobat include Distiller as I was unable to register it and get any licence number?
I have had to contact Dell many times as my service tag was not recognised on their system. After 2 months they fixed that but they still are unable to fix my service tag being recognised in their My Dell downloads section to download my software (which i hope would be the location of the acrobat x software.)
To make matters worse there is no where on the Adobe site to download the installation and Dell have no record  of my system with Adobe acrobat X standard.
Please can someone provide a link to download this? As i said I have my licence already but no way of re installing.
Also if i contact Adobe support with my licence can they confirm that this licence is a Dell OEM licence so that i can show this as proof to dell that they supplied with the software so can provide me with some form of reinstallation.

Thanks but no it doesn't have this, none of the dells i've had over the past 6 years have had. They do have  dell datasafe to enable a multi dvd recovery discs & a recovery partition with image based recovery. Mine is already repartitioned but i had already checked the hidden recovery partition.
But I did find find a solution for those that still have the software installed. If people want to reformat and reinstall windows they can find their installation here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Setup Files. I have a folder in there "{AC76BA86-1033-F400-BA7E-000000000005}", in there are the installation files for Acrobat X Standard v10.0. This is not a trial and will require a licence key.
As this not on the Adobe site for some reason and many have problems with the Dell site i will upload it and post a link here. If the adobe staff have issue with this they can remove the link. But there are many people who have this legitimately as paid for as part of their PC purchase and were not correctly supplied with any form of installation media, like me.
Here is the install for Acrobat X standard. The RAR password is acrobatix & you will need winrar or other suitable software to extract the folder from the archive. Winrar can be downloaded from here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm To install run setup.exe in the folder.
The file is not shared anywhere else and is not a trial so needs a legitimate licence for acrobat x standard version. (If staff find this inappropriate please remove the link, but it would be more useful to have the install available on the adobe site itself.) The install may be specific to dell PC's, I don't know.

After installation of version 10.0 the update to version 10.1.4 can be found here:

Kimg68365882 did you purchase Acrobat 9 Standard from Adobe directly?  If so and you choose to download the software instead of receive a CD then please see Find a download link on Adobe.com.
If you originally received the software on CD then please use a computer with an optical drive to copy the contents of the CD to a USB drive.

  • Can i roll back to Acrobat 9 Standard from Acrobat X Standard?

Can i roll back to Acrobat 9 Standard from Acrobat X Standard?  I bought Acrobat X license and want to roll back to 9.
    Thanks in advance.

Do you have the Acrobat 9 Standard media?
Do you have an Acrobat 9 Standard serial number?
    If not, then that's a non-starter.
You'll need to talk to Adobe provided that is who you actually purchased the software and not a reseller.
If yes, then it is a matter of removing Acrobat X first
    Rebooting the machines
    Then reinstalling Acrobat 9 Standard.

    correct.
It appears the options for a similar product are subscription based and my previous versions were purchased outright.
correct, if you want to use on both pc and mac.   but you only want to use on mac, can also upgrade to acrobat xi for mac.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard install file download

I have a license for Acrobat 8 Standard but no longer have the install file. Where can i find a download link for the install file?

    kglad,
Thanks for the link. I checked out all of the files and there are no actual acrobat install files there. Only updates for each version available.
I got an email from you via the forum with some direct download links: Adobe Acrobat X (10) Pro, Reader, and Suite Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools
I also have a license for acrobat 9 standard which is listed on the site. When i try to go and download that is says access denied. Do you know if that link is dead or if you have to be on a "list" to be able to download that?

  • Pre-installed Acrobat 9 Standard on Dell PC with Vista

My pre-installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard has lost its PDF Maker files when trying to create a PDF file from a Word file (Even the Acrobat tab in Word 2007 has dissappeared).  Still works with Excel files however.
I tried to Repair using installation disk but during the repair process it requests another CD.  I only got one CD with the PC.  Any ideas how I can repair the corrupted files?
    Thanks

Problem solved!  Link very helpful ...many thanks.  Office 2007 a lot different but I figured it out eventually.  Really appreciate your help.

  • Transferring Acrobat 9 Standard from PC to Mac

    Hi all,
I'm in the processing of transferring all my files and programs from a PC desktop to Mac Pro. Can anyone tell me the steps I need to follow to move my Acrobat 9 Standard over to the Apple machine? Thanks!

    Hi Constans,
You can transfer the files to Mac just like normal files. But application cant be transferred.
You need to purchase latest version. If you purchase subscription you can get that for both platforms.

    Ajlan Huda.

  • Removing Acrobat 9 Standard from my pc's Add/Remove screen

My pc is on Windows XP Professional.
I am unable to remove "Acrobat 9 Standard" application from my PC's "Add Remove Programs" screen.  The application shows up in the list and when I select the Add/Remove option I get this message.  The program is not now on my PC.
"This action is only provided for products that are currently installed".
I tried the Acrobat Tech support suggestion:
To use the microsoft special products removal program.  Microsoft has since removed that program (because of technical difficulties it's use caused) and Microsoft now suggest that I use the normal Add/Remove procedure for removing a software package from my pc.  That process does not work.
Note:  Acrobat 9 Standard was removed originally, but the program was still displayed on the Add/Remove screen.  Now I want the program to go away from my Add/Remove Screen and do not know hot to make it happen.

  • Corrupt documents after switchover to Acrobat X Standard from Acrobat 5

At this workplace, we have had Acrobat 5 Standard copying and pasting pages from any PDF file from suppliers, Lanier printer / scanner units, AutoCAD.
We have now moved to Acrobat 10 Standard, with latest updates.
Aribitrarily people have been opening the odd existing PDF file and added some pages and saved with Acrobat 10 Standard.
On re-open we have encountered file corruption behaviour - using Acrobat 10 Standard and Acrobat 10 Viewer, we are seeing one or two thumbnails as blank.
I've tried googling for recovery tools and have worked through oh, 5 or so - in short, they are not able to do anything worthwhile  - first page only or did not complete the process.
    My most successful attempts are:
    1. Sumatra PDF - it can see 95 out of 100 pages (the last pages are blank) which is impressive
    2. FoxitPDF Reader - similar
    3. PDF XChange - similar
Writing out a clean PDF of 95 pages is another task.
    My Questions:
    1. Why does the odd PDF corrupt? It does not happen everytime when Acrobat X Standard re-edits the existing old pdf files?
    2. How can we resolve this issue?
    3. What is the most effective repair utility if there is one better than the others?
    Thanks
    Ananda

    Hi Bill,
Good idea about Save As. I myself often save versions of Excel and Word documents as I work but this workplace here doesn't do that for their PDF documents. It is a good idea, increases the files but they have enough network server space (Microsoft Servers). They enclose all kinds of pages into a one document so that they can keep track of the entity - no IT reason why they can't adopt a safer practice in the interim until this is sorted out.
The source files could come from email, scanner, AUTOCAD. However, their issue is that the single destination file was originally ok, the new incoming files are originally ok and when they insert pages into the good destination file using pages from good incoming files, they end up with pdf corruption after save and re-open.
They are not worried about backward compatibility - they now have all Adobe Acrobat Standard 10.
Will batch file conversion help in any way? That is, process all these files to Acrobat 10 level, then use Acrobat 10 normally?
How do they do batch file conversion - can they do that with Acrobat 10 Standard?
    Thanks anyone for your help
    Ananda
