Acrobat X Std/Pro finally saving to ePub?

I'm thinking about upgrading to Acrobat X STD/PRO but will do only if it's finally possible to save a PDF document to ePub format.
Is this the case?
The features shown online don't seem to be exhaustive.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks all,
well I'm disappointed.
I don't have original files, only PDFs that I would transform to have more control in display option on my iPad.
Converting to Word is not an option, a lot of informaiton is lost and then Calibre doesn't convert Word documents.
Calibre doesn't do a nice work in converting PDF files either.
That's why I hoped that PDF->ePub directly would be available.
Too bad. I'll stick to Acrobat 8 in that case. And keep reading PDF in orginal formats, meaning no dictionary, no real annotations, etc.
But that's fine.
Thanks all.

  • Let standard users apply Acrobat X std/pro updates

    Hi and thanks in advance for your time.
    We recently deployed Acrobat X Standard and Pro and want to let our standard users (ie those without admin priveleges) have the ability to update Adobe which is a new idea for us.
    Adobe's customization wizard of course has the option for this under Online and Acrobat.com Features, but when we save it and redeploy it (Win Server 03), the changes are not reflected meaning the average user doesn't have the option that admins have under the Help menu to manually update, nor are they able to change update settings under Preferences.
    I would greatly appreciate a starting point to tackle the issue. I am thinking it's a Group Policy setting, but we have given permissions to users to be able to apply updates.
    Thank you Adobe community! I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
    Matt

    OK, I got it loaded.  Not sure exactly, but I believe the tricks were to not use their automatic downloarder, delete it from my computer, to select the "overwrite" option when the manually downloaded installer found the previous files (which I had uninstalled, so not sure what the uninstaller left behind....) then of course once it ran, it prompted me for the Standard serial number, since that had been uninstalled.  Once I put that in, it all seems to work.  Sheesh.

  • Opening multiple PDFs outside of browser in Acrobat 9 Std/Pro

    Just got off the phone with Adobe's TS and was unhappy that they took the functionality of opening multiple PDFs outside of the browser and have it be contained in ONE window from Adobe 9. Unless someone else can tell me how to set this option up again, I'm sticking with 8 until there's an update to this.

    I believe this was a permanent change. See the following link and conversation thread:

    Aandi,
    The failure reason suggested by you provided me the solution for getting my my code to work. There is a setting in Acrobat to either open the each document in separate window or to share Acrobat's window.
    The setting is Edit->Preferences->Documents->Open Settings section "Show each document in its own window (requies restart)"
    Thanks for the help again

    However, that preference is NO LONGER present in Acrobat/Reader 9. In version 9, we ONLY operate in SDI mode. So even with that fix for Acrobat/Reader 8 - you will STILL break in version 9.
    You MUST rethink your code...

  • Can't find download for Acrobat 9 STD--the Acrobat 9 download is for PRO, and my serial number not valid for PRO.

    I'm switching to a new laptop, and I want to bring my Acrobat 9 STD with me. Deactivated it on the old laptop, went to the download page for Acrobat 9 and downloaded it, got to the part in the installation where I entered my serial number, and the installation wizard said it was invalid. That's when I noticed the download was for Acrobat 9 PRO, not STD. I used the support chat and explained it to the support person, and he gave me a link for the 9 STD download. Unfortunately, it was the same page. I downloaded it again. Still 9 PRO. Anyone else have any ideas where they're hiding the Acrobat 9 STD download?

    Finding the file all depends on how you did the install and if you downloaded the install file. If the install file was downloaded to the TEMP folder, there is a slight chance it may still be there (should be in Windows>TEMP, not sure on MAC). It may have a name similar to the Pro download of AcroPro90_efg.exe. The Pro would be change to Std and I am not sure what the efg stands for. I would search for AcroStd9*.exe. There seems to be a download for AA 9 std available at http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml. I have no idea if that works. I had found one place where a staff member said he is working on getting links up for all the older versions, not just the trials (that are Pro). I simply searched on Google for Acrobat 9 Standard files. I can't find the message by the staff, but there is one in the last week or two as I recall where a staff member was providing links for folks on an individual basis.

  • Have Acrobat XI Std, installation of Acrobat XI Pro fails, version incompatibility

    Running Windows 7 Pro on work Thinkpad.
    Trial version of Acrobat XI Pro as of Dec 4, 2014 is 11.0.07
    Licensed version of installed Acrobat XI Std is 11.0.09
    Installer downloads, but when the splash panel displays and I press Next, I get the message that a more functional version is available and it bails.
    Obvious why the error occurred. Makes me wonder if Pro features are hidden inside Std, the way IBM used to take the DP Manager out to lunch while the CE flipped a switch for more MIPS upgrade. ;-)
    I simply want to check out the multi-media features before committing to upgrade.
    Will try using another computer, thought you would like to know about the problem.

    Sadly you cannot run Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro at the same time. The message is rather the wrong way round but basically a hint in the right direction.
    You would need to uninstall Acrobat Standard. Be sure you have EVERYTHING you need to reinstall including disks and serial numbers before considering this!

  • Can't upgrade from Acrobat X Std to Acrobat X pro

    Hello,
    I have Acrobat X std I purchased and d/l without problem months ago.  Today tried to upgrade from Acrobat X standard to Acrobat X Pro.  All seemed well until I ran the installation after downloading the files using the download assistant.  The installer window shows Acrobat X Standard in the top bar.  It will only accept my old Acrobat X Standard serial number.  It will not accept the new activation key or serial number.  I have completely uninstalled Acrobat X, gone back to the download area under my orders, and re-downloaded the file.  Same thing happens all over again.  Of course no support or help on weekend and I leave on a trip tomorrow.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Sheesh.

  • Can I upgrade Acrobat XI Std to Pro?

    I have a copy of Acrobat XI Std, which can bundled with a SnapScan scanner.  Can I upgrade Acrobat to the Pro version.  If so how?  And how much does it cost?  All I can find on the website is subscriptions, not relevant to me!

    Will inbox you a number to call. They will provide you information.

    I have a form in acrobat adobe 9 pro extended.  I have 2 questions:  1) Can you make the main content of the form be continual (being it may or may not go into multiple pages) and 2) If the form goes into multiple pages, can signature area only appear on final page?
    The form designer is Adobe LiveCycle Designer.

    On a Mac with Mavericks (or Yosemite) installed on it you don't add them to iTunes, that is only used as a tool for syncing your books to the iBooks app on your iOS devices, iTunes isn't used for managing them.
    For the books that are compatible with iBooks (you probably won't be able to copy the Mobi files into it) then you can add them to the iBooks app on your Mac either via the File > Add To Library menu option within the app, or by dragging and dropping them onto it.
    If you connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes they should then show on its Books tab for selecting and syncing to the iBooks app on the iPad
    For the mobi book, you will need an app on your iPad that supports more books e.g. the Kindle app.
    For Kindle, and possibly other mobi apps, you can add books to the app by selecting the iPad's Apps tab, scroll down the right-hand side of the screen to the file sharing section, select the app that you want to copy the book to, and add it to the app.

  • Editing a PDF with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro

    Hi,
    I've created a Will using an online kit. The final version is in PDF format. I can't print it out as is, because I want to delete a line at the end of a paragraph. I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro which I'm told can easily do this, but I don't know how to use it. I don't want to lose the exact format from the PDF version, because then I'd have to typeset the doc from scratch. By the way, I do not have the fonts used in the PDF doc. I hope this won't make a difference.
    Can it be done? If so, exactly how. Please walk me through it like I'm six.
    Thanks so much.
    I'm on Mac OS 10.5.8

    It's been a long time since I've used Acrobat 7 Pro but I have used Acrobat 8 Professional.
    The key thing is to choose the correct tool. You're looking for the Touchup Text tool, which is probably on the Advanced Editing toolbar. You can probably open up that toolbar by choosing View > Toolbars > Advanced Editing. With that tool selected, drag through the sentence to be deleted. Right-click (Control-click) on the selected text and press Delete.

  • Updating acrobat 9.0 Pro

    I purchased Acrobat 9.0 Pro  a few years ago and recently had to get a new laptop ( mother board died). The new laptop has Windows 7 (64 bit). Acrobat does not seem to work properly.  I read that I have to do some updates but there are so many versions, I do not know which one will actually solve the problem.Help

    The updates to AA9 have to be installed in order if you are installing from the download updates site. They are not cummulative. If you can open AA9, then it might be faster to update from the Help>Updates menu. Generally, you do not need to reboot after each update, but only after the final update.

  • FillFormCS sample and Acrobat 9.0 Pro

    I have an application that is similar to the SDK sample application FillFormCS. I just upgraded from Acrobat 7.0 Pro to Acrobat 9.0 Pro. Both my app and FillFormCS worked with 7.0, but with 9.0 they give me the same exception: "No document is currently open in the Acrobat Viewer".
    The problem seems to be connected to the avDoc's Open() and OpeninWindowEx() functions. The document never really seems to get opened.
    Can anyone tell me if FillFormCS is supposed to run correctly with Acrobat 9.0 Pro when built from Visual Studio 2008? Visual Studio upgraded the solution and source files automatically. The references to the type library and ActiveX control seem fine.
    If the problem is with VS 2008, can anyone suggest what I could do since VS 2005 isn't an option?
    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    OK, I have an answer, after more than two weeks and finally spending $200 for Developer Support, it turns out that for Acrobat 9.0, you have to call Show() after the Open(), not before, to get everything to work right. Here's a snippet of FillFormCS.cs that works:
    static void Main(string[] args)
    String FORM_NAME = Application.StartupPath + "\\SampleForm.pdf";
    // Initialize Acrobat by cretaing App object.
    CAcroApp acroApp = new AcroAppClass();
    // Show Acrobat Viewer: Don't do this before the Open()!
    //acroApp.Show();
    // Create an AVDoc object
    CAcroAVDoc avDoc = new AcroAVDocClass();
    // Open the pdf
    if(avDoc.Open (FORM_NAME, "") == false)
    string szMsg = "Cannot open " + FORM_NAME + ".\n";
    //Console.WriteLine(szMsg);
    MessageBox.Show("Cannot open " + FORM_NAME);
    return;
    // Show Acrobat Viewer: Now you can do it.
    acroApp.Show();
    // Create a IAFormApp object, so that we can access the form fields in
    // the open document
    IAFormApp formApp = new AFormAppClass();
    Also, if you want to use OpenInWindowEx() rather than Open(), you have to be sure to Lock() before you open and UnlockEx() after.
    Good luck.

  • Acrobat 8.1 Pro .mht And Some .html files Do Not Convert To PDF

    Acrobat 8.1 Pro with Windows Vista. .mht files are saved complete webpage single files similar to complete html files except they're as a single file instead of a file and a folder. When using Create From File, Acrobat does not recognize .mht files and will not convert them to PDF. Some complete .html files will not convert using Create from File, even though Acrobat does recognize them.
    Also, when I'm logged into a website and want to convert a webpage to PDF using Create From Web, often the resulting PDF document is of the login page and not the page I selected with the error message "can't locate file". These difficult webpages can be converted to PDF using the Print Adobe PDF function, but hyperlinks are not preserved with this function.
    I would like to be able to convert all files (including .mht) and webpages to PDF while preserving hyperlinks. Can anyone help me with this?

    Bruce,
    mht files are not standard html files. Acrobat will not handle those. If
    you are on a website that most be logged into, then Acrobat cannot get
    to those files since it is not logged in. You can print to pdf, since
    your browser is logged in.

  • Accidently closed a Acrobat X Standard file without saving it, autosave is on, set for 5 minutes, but where do I find it?

    Accidently closed a Acrobat X Standard file without saving it, autosave is on, set for 5 minutes, but where do I find it?

    Hi Michael,
    That is not how the autosave feature works. Autosave helps in situations where program crashes/freezes or power goes out (basically, in situations where user have no control over the system). Closing the file without saving is not considered as unexpected interruption; it is intentional for most of the users.
    When you close, save manually, or revert to the last-saved version of a file, the autosave file is deleted. Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Saving PDFs

  • Trying to download and install Acrobat 8 Std

    I have a new Windows 8.1 computer. I have de-activated Acrobat 8 Std on my old computer. I am trying to download and install on my new computer. When doing so, Adobe appears to only offer Pro, and wont accept my serial number. Suggestions?

    If you did not save your previous download you may be out of luck. To date, I have not heard of anyone being successful with AA 8 on Win 8.1, but that does not mean it is not possible. I suspect it may not work, but only trying will answer that question. If you search the forum, you may find some of the old posts to find the Adobe person to contact through PM to see if he can give you a link. They no longer post the link for std.
