Acrobat X suddenly stopped working!!!
2 hours ago, I was reading a PDF, when it simply closed.
*Poof* For no reason at all! Hello?
Since than Acrobat X wont open anymore. Neither by starting the programm via the .exe, nor by clicking on PDF documents.
Acrobat Reader does open and show PDFs, though.
Tried to "repair" the installation, but to no avail.
No changes to my computer/programms/OS where made lately.
What is this?
Adobe, you're supposed to save me time, not to cost me.

I do not have a solution, but it sounds like you may have gotten a virus through JavaScript in the PDF. I hope you have your original installation files (backup or on CD). If the repair (from Control Panel>Programs & Features) does not do the job, it may be time for a reinstall. You might check the JavaScript folder in Acrobat first to see if there is something that got dumped there that is suspicious.
To reinstall, try to deactivate if possible, uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and install. Then do the updates. Hopefully that solves the problems. However, trying to do repair and updates first is always best. The reinstall should be a last resort.

Acrobat x Pro 10.1.3 suddenly stopped working
Today Acrobat suddenly stopped working insofar as it just would not start. Looking in the task manager shows it starts then stops.

For all the users who have faced a problem where Acrobat did not launch after 30 days of serializing with a suite serial number, please execute the following workaround:
Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Launch a regular CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
Click on Help->Deactivate .
Deactivate the application. Quit application.
Launch a regular CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
Accept Eula.
Register trial by signing in. Let the app launch.
Quit and relaunch the app. Wait for UI to come.
Click on License This Software button on the UI.
Click on Sign in .
Serial number screen will come
Enter the serial number in the serial number screen and click Next.
Quit app and relaunch the app while connected on the internet .
After this if you launch Acrobat it will launch and run forever without trouble. In case you still face a problem , try relaunching the other CS6 app once more and then launch Acrobat.

The license info would be on the jewel case or CD that you got from the university. If it was downloaded, they typically provide the license key in that process that you have to write down or copy. As long as you are still covered under the license, maybe another individual has the license key available. It would be appropriate for them to ask for confirmation on your payment of the license fee or whatever process the university has.
In the meantime, go to the Start>Control Panel>Programs & ... When the program list comes up search for Acrobat.exe and do a repair. -
Photoshop CS and Acrobat 6.0 stopped working in Snow Leopard
Hello. "Photoshop CS" and "Acrobat 6.0 Standard" suddenly stopped working in my iMac, apparently after I upgraded it to MacOS 10.6.8 (the latest version of Snow Leopard). Both programs had worked normally until that OS upgrade. I deleted Photoshop CS and tried to re-install it from the original CD, but the installation never proceeds because I get an error message entitled: "Install Adobe Photoshop CS quit unexpectedly". Firefox suddenly stopped working with Mac OS 10.6.8- keeps blocking even Safari- will jot download , open pdf file downloads-- wasted a lot of time of several University experts- we can't locate work out why- x3 quit everything, download, reinstalled twice, machine switch on/off- something seriously wrong and wasting alot of time.
It had been working faultless for years- recently iMAC 1TB disc was changed by Apple under their programme of exchange for 'free'- it has not worked since!!!!

Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

It seems when i do something simple as typing text, it'll stop working and give me a "Adobe Photoshop suddenly stop working". My CS4 32bit version seems to working fine with whatever i'm working on. I'm running a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate on a new computer Intel quad core with 4gig of ram if that helps. Sorry if this have been asked before but i couldn't find anything on these forums. my usb that i have been using on my computer for a while suddenly stopped working, but is still glowing and letting me know that it is connected, but not showing up in disk utility
Either the physical drive or the enclosure electronics has failed. The light you are seeing is powered by the USB connection, the power, electricity, all USB ports put out. That doesn't mean the actual physical hard drive or the USB to SATA bus electronics are working properly. If it doesn't show in Disk Utility then it is DEAD.
Most of the time it is the enclosures electronics that fail. Removing the physical drive from the enclosure and put it in another enclosure or using a SATA to USB adapter, one that has it's own AC power supply, might allow you to get the files off the drive. -
Satellite L300 suddenly stopped working - new motherboard needed
My Sat L300 suddenly stopped working the other day.
It kept freezing to start with, then nothing at all. So, I kill-disked the HDD and tried to re-install Windows (XP).
During the install it threw up a message that some internal components had been incorrectly installed and needed to be reinstalled.
I was told to remove the memory cards and re-seat them.
That did not work. I thought that perhaps the HDD was damaged, so I fitted a new one, and started to reinstall Windows.
Once again, same message. One of my colleagues at work suggested that the Motherboard was probably U/S.
So I have been trawling the .net to find a replacement. Laptop out of warranty! I am told that some other serial numbered motherboards will work with this laptop. Don't really want to get a motherboard only to find its never going to work! My unit has an SPS number of: V000138330.
I am being offered one with an SPS of: V000138390.
Any ideas? Will this one work?
And if it does, will it give me the functionality that I used to enjoy?!
Sorry for the long sob story.

The issue: Outlook to iPhone sync failure – Sync suddenly stopped working for calendar events but continued for contacts and notes. Finally Fixed!!!
SUPPORT TEAM – PLEASE SEE THIS – Complete explanation of cause and correction steps.
The cause: It is now clear what caused this problem. For years I had several “all-day” events in my Outlook calendar (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). In May 2012 I decided to make some of them one hour events so I could add alerts to remind me of the event. I did this by dragging them in Outlook to the time I wanted and expanding them to the time slot desired and then adding the alarm.
The symptom: Syncing stopped working for the calendar but continued working for contacts and notes. I didn’t realize sync was failing until months later when I missed two very important phone calls, so when I noticed it the cause was not obvious.
The failed attempts: I’m head of a software firm and my calendar sync is a crucial to my business life so I took this on with a vengeance. From a quick look at events in Outlook and the iPhone I could see that the problem started in May 2012. Events before May were in both Outlook and the iPhone but events after May were only one or the other. Unfortunately I had changed several other things at the same time relating to other events so again the cause was not obvious. MANY calls with AppleCare proved them incompetent so my internal IT guys assisted trying many things. We tried a huge number of calendar changes and several versions of iTunes, iPhone OS and Office as well as both iPhone 4 and 5, all without success.
The fix: After 18 months of frustration, MANY hundreds of $ expense and MANY hours of wasted time I saw a blog that had a calendar sync problem and it indicated all day events were related. I changed the display of the Outlook calendar to the list view, added columns so I could see “all day” event check marks as well as times of events, sorted on the “all day” event column to move them to the top, and for all events that were “all day” events AND had a start and end time, I removed recurrence and then added the annual recurrence back…
After I fixed all events that had BOTH “all day” set and had a start/end time, I tried another sync. It synced for the first time in 18 months!
Problem occurred May 2012 – fixed Nov 2013Hi, to remove dummy '_ModGrp' entries, rather than crashing the 'Suppr' key on your keyboard, you can use this basic VBA macro (launched for instance from Excel).
It will recursively remove all '_ModGrp...' folders

It is now unresponsive and my computer does not recognize it when it is plugged in. I thought it just needed to be charged but there seems to be a larger issue now. What should I do?
Let your ipod die. Then when it is dead charge it adn turn it back on. After that it should be fine.

HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC_Keyboard and Touchpad Suddenly Stops Working
Hi there,
I have an HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC (QG411PA) running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit for more than a couple of years already. During those times up until now, whenever my laptop is on standby for an hour or so, its keyboard and touchpad suddenly stops working, regardless if its running on battery or on AC power.
I always ensure that I have an external mouse in order for me to navigate properly and pull up the on-screen keyboard in order to type once that issue arises.
All appears to be updated in terms of Windows Updates and I even reformatted it, but issue still persists.
Is this particular issue that I am experiencing a harware issue? Perhaps a software issue? Or maybe a defective model itself?

It looks like you are facing difficulties to resolve Touchpad Issues with your Notebook
We will surely assist you with this
Steps to drain the Static charge and loading default BIOS settings to resolve the issue
Step 01. Turn OFF the Notebook
Step 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery too
Step 03. Press and Hold the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minute
Step 04. Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter
Step 05. Start the Notebook and keep tapping F10 Key during the startup to access the BIOS
Step 06. Once you get to the BIOS, Please press F5 or F9 Key to load setup defaults for the BIOS
Step 07. Now let's press Esc/Escape Key. Save Changes and Exit - Yes
Step 08. Now please wait till the Unit loads the Windows Operating system
Now please download and re-install the touchpad drivers for your Notebook from the HP Support Site

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP -
My iTunes suddenly stopped working and doesn't recognize any of my devices and gives me a AMD error. I've tried several times to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall to no avail. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell laptop. It worked fine for years then I decided to update my iPhone 4S and it didn't recognize it or any other iPod or iPad.
