Acrobat X Trial ver - Test my Acrobat plugin

Hi,
I have a plugin working fine in Acrobat 8 and 9 versions. I would like to try the same plugin in Acrobat X (10) version, but I don't have the licensed version. So, I decided to download and install Acrobat X Trial version to test my plugin.
I copied my plugin .api file in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\plug_ins folder, but when I launch Acrobat X, I don't see my plugin.
Will it be hidding somewhere? If so, what is the setting to enable it? Or any special coding needs to be done to enable the plugin in Acrobat X?
If this is not possible at all in trial version, then what is the best way to test my plugin in Acrobat X? Please direct me.
Thanks,
AT.

My plugin to Acrobat is a basic toolbar written in C++. Its pretty much simple as the sample project available in SDK (sdk91_v2_win/BasicPlugin).
Ok, I see things differently in Acrobat X. Does it mean the same plugin code which is working/loading fine in Acrobat 8 or 9 needs some tweak, so that it is visible in "Tools Panel" of Acrobat X?
If no tweaks needed, then why it is not appearing in the Acrobat X trial ver? Is that because it is trial ver?
Please clarify.
Thanks,
AT.

  • Acrobat Pro trial expired PLEASE HELP,

    Hello everyone
I down loaded the acrobat pro trial but did not install it, I lent my laptop to a friend who installed it and and now I wanted to give it a try but the trial has already expired. Is there any way I can get the trial again to test out?
    Thanks

You can also try it on another machine. Unfortunately, your friend may have used up your option. Why not borrow his laptop and install it there and see how you like it.

  • Acrobat X Trial ended how to retreive my oldAcrobat 8 license

Hi I have been testing Adobe Acrobat Professional X and normally use Acrobat proffesional 8 upon installing the trial a popup window appeared "downloading license to server"
The trial has finished and I have uninstalled version 10 and re-installed 8 however it will not run as it is asking to re activate the license, how do I get my license back from the server

You cannot get your license back from the server. You should have de-activated your copy of Acrobat 8 before installing the trial. Since you installed Acrobat 8 again you needed to put in your license number and re-activate your copy of Acrobat. If it doesn't accept your activation, the software will provide you with a telephone number to call to help you with re-activation. No one here can re-activate your software, Adobe needs to do something with their server.

  • Can Acrobat XI trials be downloaded directly, instead of using Akamai Download Manager?

If you are having issues downloading Adobe Acrobat XI trials using Akamai Download Manager, you can download directly in a browser. Follow the instructions here:
    Download Acrobat XI trials directly

Thank you for the link, and for going to the trouble of making it available.
Please don't think that I'm intentionally making things more difficult than they have to be.  But as someone who recently passed his Security+ test, I cannot accept.  Even if scanned by AV software, I cannot run the risk of there being anything malicious in the file.
NOT THAT I THINK YOU WOULD!!!  I don't! Mind you, I just cannot take that risk, especially since this is for work (I'm a federal contractor.)

I have had to erase my disk since then with trouble with Apple Store not recognising my machine and the reload from Time Machine has given complications . Can you please cancel my trial and return my Trial money.

If you paid for what you used then it was not a trial.

  • Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 loaded fine, but doesn't print.

    09.25.10
I just loaded Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 and it loaded fine, but doesn't print.
When I go to print a PDF, after entering the file name, an Acrobat software setup box asks for the serial # or "continue to use product on a trial basis".
I select the continue option, click "next" the box disappears - then nothing happens. This repeats each time I try and print, even after a reboot.
Having selected Acrobat as the default printer did not change anything.  Help!  Dave

You may have to update Acrobat. I am not sure that AA9.0 works correctly with Win 7.

  • How do I get rid of the trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and now my trial is over.  I can no longer view any .pdf files on my computer--every time I download a .pdf file it just takes me to this site and tries to get me to buy the product.  I tried to uninstall this program, and when I do it says, "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transforms are valid."  Please help me get rid of this so that I can re-install Adobe Reader so that I can view my own files!

When I go to remove it, it says, "Error applying transforms.  Verify that the specified transforms are valid" & will not let me remove it.  Do you know of anything else I could try?

  • I downloaded a Trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI.  Now the trial has runout and I've signed up for a subscription.  However, my software still needs a serial number.  How can I get a serial number for the installed software?

I downloaded a Trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI.  Now the trial has runout and I've signed up for a subscription.  However, my software still needs a serial number.  How can I get a serial number for the installed software?

There is no serial number and you don't need one. What you need for a subscription is to SIGN IN within Acrobat, so it knows the subscriptions you own.

  • Is there a serial number for Acrobat's trial?

So I installed the trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Win XP and when I open it, it asks for a serial number...I only have an option to buy a serial number but it should be a free trial for 30 days...
I've uninstalled it and installed again but it's still asking for the serial...is there one for the trial??
    Thanks!

In addition, if you install, uninstall, and reinstall, it will consider that your trial is over. You might try an install on another machine, but you probably can do nothing with your current machine in terms of the trial.

  • Acrobat X trial install with Acrobat 9 Pro

Yes - you cannot have two versions of Acrobat installed at the same time.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Trial

This is a comment instead of a question. I installed the trial version of Adobe  Acrobat XI this evening and I have already decided that I will NOT be purchasing the full version. The constant reminders to "update" that appear after nearly every action taken to write/change/edit a document have gone from annoying to downright obnoxious.
I choose to purchase products based on their usefulness and integration in my work, not because of incessant and intrusive reminders to purchase an upgraded version of the product.
Good job Adobe. Your ridiculous methods of constantly pushing an upgrade while I evaluate your product, has not only turned me off the evaluation process, it has turned me off of ever buying an full Adobe version of any software.
I would delete the trial version from my PC right now, if I wasn't already too tired to stay awake any further..

Um, yea.... I already stated I was running the Trial version of Acrobat XI. The thread is even titled Adobe Acrobat XI Trial.
I already stated that annoying me with constant reminders to update to the paid version does nothing more than p*** me off and fill me with the resolve to never purchase the full version.
Not sure where there is any room for lack of comprehension in what I typed in my original post.

  • Three Acrobat 9 trial issues

    Hello!
Hoping Adobe's developer will perhaps read this too:
    1. I installed Acrobat 9 Pro Trial in german on my Windows 7 system which had Indesign CS4 already. Before I only had the Reader. Now, when exporting a PDF from Indesign with option "Show PDF after export" activated, Indesign gives me an error that it can not show the PDF because of a messed up Acrobat installation. But no matter what program is assigned to show PDFs, Acrobat or the Reader, it does not work. Apart from that, double-clicking a PDF in Explorer of course opens the Reader.
    2. I have to use the Windows font SimHei to export chinese text from Excel to PDF. In Excel, the font shows correctly, for example the degree symbol (°). When printing to a PDF printer (not Acrobat, 3rd party tool, worked fine before) and opening the PDF in the Reader, some characters like the degree symbol are not shown. If I open the PDF in Acrobat, use touch up text tool, place the cursor and type the ° manually, it does not show, only a space. Opening the properties of the text, Acrobat says it's SimHei.
I strongly suppose this is a problem of CJK support or any kind of font substitution by the Adobe.
This is SimHei in Excel, below in the other picture is SimHei in Acrobat.
    3. Marking text with the mouse cursor in Acrobat (touch up text tool) looks very strange. See below:
Can anyone give any suggestions how to solve the font thing? This is most important to me right now.
    Thanks in advance.
Addition: I've printed the same document from Excel with the Adobe PDF printer and then the font shows correct. But before I installed Acrobat, I have printed the document with the 3rd party tool a several times and it always was correct. Now I don't now if it's Windows 7 (moved from Xp recently), if it's the most recent version of the 3rd party tool or if it's the Acrobat installation. I'm still using trial, wanting to use Acrobat in the future in hop this can solve such issues forever.

Having Reader and Pro installed on the same Windows machine is not supported as it creates problems. Uninstall the one that you are not using, in this case I would say Reader, since you only have a 30 day trial. Just be sure you have all the information you need to reinstall Reader when your trial runs out, unless you decide to buy Pro.
