Acrobat X Unable to Uninstall

I have been having an entirely consistent issue with Adobe Acrobat X. Every time it opens, not only can I not quit the application, but I also can't close any windows that are open in the application, nor can I force quit. Last night it opened up a file on my external harddrive, but I accidentally selected Acrobat X to open a document instead of Photoshop. The only way to resolve the issue was to manually hold down the power button on my computer, with my harddrive still attached and running. I hate doing that, and just want to get rid of this glitch filled program. I tried to use the uninstaller, but the alias for said uninstaller says it leads to nowhere. I even tried the uninstaller for Acrobat 9, but that didn't work out. Please help!

In a separate thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4570996#4570996) an Adobe employee suggested following these instructions from this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-x-closes-launch-creative.html
Step 1: Install the latest version of Adobe Application Manager from the following links:
Windows
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
Mac OS
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
Step 2: Relicense other CS6 software.
Make sure that you are connected to the Internet.
Launch a regular CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, or Dreamweaver).
Choose Help > Deactivate.
Deactivate the application, and then quit the application.
Launch the product you deactivated in step 4.
Click License This Software on the user interface.
Sign in with the Adobe ID associated with your subscription.
Launch Acrobat X to confirm it opens successfully.
It worked for me. Hope that helps

  • Unable to Uninstall Adobe Reader X 10.0.1

This issue error message states "The patch couldn't be opened...Verify the patch package exists and is accessable......Windows installer patch..."

I am also unable to uninstall Acrobat Reader X. I am taking this action because I cannot open any documents with X. I also keep getting this message or something close, cannot take action because there is another document already opened. But there isn't. That happened when I tried to uninstall Acrobat Reader X and go back to a more reliable version. What is going on with X?

  • Unable to uninstall adobe reader 9.5.1 - CPSID_83708

I am unable to uninstall Adobe Reader 9.5.1 - CPSID_83708 - I am fearful it is malware as the support refers to goadobe.com.  Can you provide any help.  I am having all kinds of printing problems.

Try running the Acrobat and Reader Cleanup Tool:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
and then download the full Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Unable to uninstall sql server 2012 from Windows 7(ultimate) 64-bit SP1 version.

I am trying to install sql sever 2012 on my m/c but it's giving me error after partial installation.
Now I have successfully installed Sql Server 2008 R2 on my machine but when I am trying to uninstall 2012 sql server from my machine its giving an error regarding unsupported OS. However as mentioned earlier I have Windows 2007 Ultimate SP1 (64-bit) installed
on my machine which is included in valid platform for sql server 2012. Also I installed visual studio 2013 on my machine but it existed with error SqlServer\LocalDB not installed.

    Hi pritamk,
According to your error message, as other post, you can uninstall SQL Server from command line, inaddition, another workaround is that change the compatibility mode of setup.exe to Vista SP2, then run “Remove” option from the control panel. You can refer
    to the following steps.
Browse to your SQL setup bootstrap folder, For SQL Server 2012, this is the path "C:\Program Files \Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\SQLServer2012\".
Go to Setup.exe file and right click on Setup.exe. Then go to properties and click on "Compatibility" tab. Under "Compatibility mode", click on Run this program in compatibility mode for "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)". Then Click on "Apply" then "OK".
After that go to control panel -> Programs and Features -> and remove SQL Server 2012
There is similar issue about uninstalling SQL Server 2012 RC0 from control panel. You can review the following post.

  • Unable to uninstall ATG 9.4 CRS from windows 7 - 64 bit

    Hi,
I am trying to uninstall ATG9.4 CRS from Windows Add/Remove programs. But I am getting the below error in pop-up and unable to uninstall the software.
    Win64 not supported
The author of the package you are installing did not include support for this platform.
Also I tried to uninstall from ATG9.4 CRS directory, still getting the same error.
There was a recommended settings option was shown to uninstall on click of the Uninstall from Add/Remove programs. But still getting the same error.
    My OS details:
    Windows 7 64 bit.
    Java version - jdk1.6.0_45
Please help me in uninstalling this software.
    Thanks

    Hi,
you can try below work around, i recommend not to perform this directly on production, try this in dev machine first.
force uninstaller to use 32-bit jre:
    1. copy jre to the system
    2. run >"Uninstall.exe" LAX_VM <path_to_jre>
    Thanks & Regards

  • Unable to UNINSTALL "hp Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series" from Windows7 64bit OS on HP-8730w

i am unable to UNINSTALL the "hp Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series" from Windows7 64bit OS installed on HP Notebook 8730w Mobile Workstation.
If i click the uninstall button using the original printer driver CD, nothing happens; no error messages either.

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You can find the Commercial Laserjet board here:

  • Unable to uninstall Quicktime

I get the following error when I try to access the QuickTime settings in the control panel:
An exception occurred while trying to run "C:\Windows\system32\shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL "C:\Windows\system\QuickTime.cpl", QuickTime"
When I try to open iTunes, it fails and the "Send an error report to Microsoft?" box appears. I am unable to uninstall quicktime and re-download it. Any ideas?
      Windows XP

Currently I am also unable to reinstall Quicktime as well, but here is what I can suggest:
    1) Type "93976" into the support box and find the solution post by Apple and see if that helps.
    2) I reccomend the Mircosoft Uninstaller Utility just as a tool to fix any nonresponsive programs (such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on my computer- would not uninstall). This can be found in the solutions list titled: "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" at the bottom. Use it to uninstall the programs.
    3) Call the Apple support line: 1-800-275-2273 (USA)
and talk with a professional and demand answers (do not accept "Go to an Apple store").
    4) Look at other threads and look for solutions.
As I said at the top, I also cannot reinstall Quicktime, so this might be a program installation error, which hopefully will be fixed soon. Keep me posted if you get any results.

  • Acrobat is unable to distribute this form??

    Hi
Ive been building a form over the last few weeks in LiveCycle ES2. It's nothing too complicated (text / date entry , drop downs, repeating row tables etc) - there is no validation set at all at the moment or any kind of signature.
My issue is that I am recieving an error message when I attempt to distribute the form:
"acrobat is unable to distribute this form" - that's it. No other information to help find the cause of the problem
    I am using Acobat X version 10.1.4
Has anyone seen this before? Can you help me at least know where to start looking for issues please?
    Thanks
    Ellis

    Just to add
I've systematically removed each section of the form, testing to see if this distribution error is related to a particular element. However I have got all the way back to just the master page (which you are unable to delete) no content at all and I still get the error?
Could this be a target version thing?
    Really clutching at straws tbh
Unless anyone can advise my only optio will be to rebuild the form using the objects in the broken form and see if that works?
    Thanks in anticipation!
    Ellis

  • Unable to uninstall adobe reader 8.16 on windows xp

I wanted to uninstal adobe reader 8 after finding I could use adobe reader 9, I uninstalled adobe reader and ended up having to restore my system after a server problem with the new software putting adobe 8 back. I tried to uninstall it again after switching off the machine for a while for the serer to recover, I still cant uninstall 8 even after installing adobe reader 9.

I tried on the day to navigate the adobe site on dial up, adobe should cater to people on a budget if they are going to service us with a free reader. Personally I would prefer another program to decode a pdf document that does just that - without all the other stuff I will never use. Today I found I may be able to uninstall adobe 8 by running kb404307, I couldn't even find a download page for the fix. Once again I got frustrated with my pc and adobe.

  • Unable to Uninstall Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4

it's been a couple of days since i tried out Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4 to see how they compare to the CS3 versions, it worked fine and all till suddenly it stopped working, so i been trying to uninstall/reinstall to get it working under the free trial limit i still have left (27 days as of this writing) it still will not work.
Sometimes i would install Photoshop/Dreamweaver and say an error occurred and some components were unable to install and would be unable to load the file even after doing what the instructions say...
Same goes for when i try to uninstall both Photoshop/Dreamweaver, i would try to uninstall and would still remain in my program files...
I am completely stumped on what to do, i can't even re-install photoshop/dreamweaver cs3 as well due to this...
I am running on Vista 32bit SP1 Pack on HP Pavilion, i want to completely get rid of CS4 versions and go back to my reliable CS3 again, any help please would be greatly appreciated.
    Kantori

John... if you read what I said you would of caught that i did do it:
"did what was suggested, worked like a charm for the CS3 and Dreamweaver CS4 but although it did work on Photoshop CS4. it did something i was dumbfounded to see, it did something odd in which it took out the Uninstall/Change tab option for removing programs (I was viewing it to see if it uninstalled completely) also it brought out a bunch of programs that weren't in that section before and was unable to uninstall/remove them.
So i had to do a system restore point to go back and try again. After doing it two more times (ya two!) still doesn't work, i am 7 hours into trying to resolve this... sigh. "
At that time i said i had done it 2 times, 3 in total, i am on try #6 all with the same results with the exact after effects once i restart my PC.
Here's what it does to tell what goes on:
    1) after installing microsoft's cleaner then opening up the cs4 cleaner under admin, it does its thing, it asks me if i wish to remove Flash Player 10 after choosing remove Photoshop CS4, now here i done both remove Flash Player and not remove it with the same results, losing the uninstall/change option on the control panel, which frustrates me.
    2) After seeing that i try to install Photoshop CS4 again, once its done, i open it up, try to go to the trial option where as i stated previously says there's an error and can't open the trial page which would open up Photoshop completely but since it can't i cannot go beyond that window.
    3) So ya... i try ONCE again to do it all over after restarting and SAMETHING! no uninstall/change option appearing and unable to open up Photoshop CS4 in which i resort to doing a system restore again and trying once more.
NOW, one would think that after the first 3 times it should be working properly, i mean I thought it would after removing both Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS4 it's bound to do the same for Photoshop CS4, but it doesn't completely create a "FREASH" install. It's like it still remembers what messed up functions it still had and what's up with it removing the uninstall/change option? that just bogles my mind.
i tried many things, re-downloading the trial from adobe, etc i never would of thought just one program could cost me so much wasted time just to get it working and it's a free trial nonetheless so excuse me John Joslin if your remark kind of bugs me, I need some assistance/advice on trying to correct this problem, not a
    "It should have done!
Run it a few times. "
comment that's already common knowledge for me in what I have already been doing long before your post.

  • I am unable to uninstall google notifier after trying their suggestions. How do I do this successfully?

I have been unable to uninstall google notifier following their instructions for my MacBook Pro.  Any ideas what else to do?  There is no icon in applications.  I have an icon in activity moniter but I cannot delete it.

new account are created without a password, so asking for it is normal.
    see http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/pssswords.html
Compare the passwords Thunderbird has for the other accounts and see if using the same one is what you need to do.

  • Unable to uninstall rootsh

i have installed rootsh to do apt-get autoremove and i do that but now i want to uninstall rootsh and i can`t... says unable to uninstall rootsh, internal error, application manager closed...  what do u think is the problem ? what to do?

Ironically you'll need rootsh to fix this!!
    Try
    apt-get clean
then try using app manager to remove it again..
That's the easiest thing to try first

  • Unable to uninstall Download Accelerator Plus

    hi.
i installed download accelerator plus in an effort to boost download speeds, now since the trial period is over, i am unable to uninstall.
i did not use their recommended method of using "uninstall.app", i merely used AppZapper.app to zap it away, and emptied my recycle bin.
now, even after reinstalling DAP, which detects smartly that the trial period is already over, i am unable to open the "uninstall.app" program
please help me (i'll award helpful or solved feedback), as i am currently unable to download normally.
this has affected my firefox.app as well.
    thanks in advance.

it seems like im not the only one complaining either!
