Acrobat XI can't find internet connection

I have had Adobe CC subsciption for some time now, but recently my Acrobat stopped working. it says that it can't find internet connection. But all the other Adobe applications installed through the CC application manager are working fine.
I've had numerous chats with Adobe agents, and with my office's IT guys, and there has been no solution.
We use corporate anti-virus, firewall and proxy scrypts. I've had all Adobe links whitelisted that were given to me by the Adobe agents. The hosts file doesn't have any Adobe info. I've tried reinstalling n+1 number of times, with various options such as selected boot and such, and still no solution.
Why is it that all other Adobe applications installed under the CC work fine, but Acrobat doesn't?
It's sad that if one buys a subscription and loses internet, one would lose all the products as well. One should be allowed to work on the applications, internet connection or not.
Please help with this Acrobat that has created a circus for me here.

Have you also asked in http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat to find out if someone there has the same problem... and a solution?

  • Acrobat 11 can't find internet to validate new install. All other apps in my Win 8.1 x64 pc work perfectly. Where is the trouble?

The trouble started with Acrobat 8 Pro. It indicated needing an e-license extension and would not connect to the internet. So I uninstalled and purchased Acrobat 11. Now it also will not find the Internet to validate the install. Why?
In the process of this question I called Adobe Support and they instructed me to look into the Windows\system 32\drivers\etc folder. There is a file called 'hosts' that holds the key to the error. You must change the attributes of this file from Read Only and uncheck that box, close the file attributes dialog. Now you can open the file with Notepad and you should see a string of numbers followed with a comment about Adobe.com. After each number string and before the words that follow ADD the # symbol followed by a space. Save the file. It should overwrite the original. You might want to open the file once again just to be sure that the changes you made are in place. Now you can start Acrobat and the licensing/activation process will continue as it should. I have to guess that this whole problem stems from the Windows upgrade from 8 to 8.1. I've had many issues with other programs giving me mixed to frustrating results. I've found a work around for all of them so far but what a pain Microsoft is this time.
The Adobe Support people were superb in their help. Very patient and able to direct me to the fix. It helps that I have a bit of computer knowledge so I was able to discover the attribute problem when I could not initially write a new file after my changes.
Once again Adobe proves to be mighty in their product support.

Confirmed. I even tried this trick, but this did not work for me

  • ITunes 7 can't find internet connection

I can't load any new songs or video onto my iPod because iTunes 7.01 thinks I'm not connected to the internet. I am pretty confident in saying that I am, in fact, connected to the internet. Any ideas? I've got a lot of stuff that I'd like to load onto the Pod before next weekend, if possible...
Any help would be mega-appreciated. Thanks!

  • WD My Cloud App can't find internet connection on OS X 10.9.4

I get this message when logging in to my remote account, but I'm perfectly (wired) online. When connecting with WIFI same message. No problem on macbook running OS 10.9, or Android Mobile Phone. I suspect it has to do with operating system, but I don't know where to look. Help!

Hi there, welcome to the community.
It seems that this application is not getting internet access. You might want to try uninstalling and re-installing the application.
You might also want to check on the setting on the Mac firewall.
From this link (apple support site).
    Open System Preferences.
Click the Security or Security & Privacy icon.
    Select the Firewall tab.
Click the lock icon in the preference pane, then enter an administrator name and password.
    Click the Firewall Options button
Click the Add Application (+) button.
Select the app you want to allow incoming connection privileges for.
    Click Add.
    Click OK.

Hi my Apple TV can't find or connect to my library

    Hi lassefromnora,
In order for you to be able to see content on your Apple TV from your Mac, you need to set up Home Sharing on the Mac. You can do this by following the steps in this article -

  • Moved the "Connections" folder, now Dreamweaver CS3 can't find MySQL connection...

    Hi,
Dreamweaver creates a "Connections" folder in the site root
where all database connection files are stored. I want to move this
folder to another path but then DW can't find the connection (for
    example in admin/includes/Connections).
How can I tell DW the new path of the "Connections" folder so
I can still use DW extensions to find all available database
    connections?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Checo

  • Safari Can't Find Internet Plugin

Since buying a new Mac Book and transferring everything from my old iBook Safari has been unable to play any audio/video content even though RealAudio is installed on the computer. For example on the BBC website none of the audio video links work. When I click on the link to watch a video I get the following error:
    Safari Can't Find Internet Plugin
The page “BBC News Player - S Africa ponders elephant cull” has content of MIME type “audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
What is the preference that I need to change for Safari to find this plugin?

Your old iBook browser plug-ins are not "Intel aware" and moving them to a new machine didn't allow them to be used (except under Rosetta).
Update your plug-ins by downloading new versions that are Intel ready.

  • When I try to install some plugins I get "Can't find Internet Plug-ins folder". Friends with the same machine using the same browser can download just fine.  What gives?

When I try to install a plugin in any browser on my Mac Mini or my MacBook Pro, I get a "Can't find Internet Plug-Ins folder" message.  Other friends with the same machines can install the plugin just fine.  We can't find any reason why the plugin won't install on mine.  Any ideas out there?
    Thanks,

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Show Info
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open.
Does the dialog show "You can only read" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
    What is the Modified date?
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.

There are a number of posts related to copying issues between Windows Vista / 7 and AirPort Disks. Two potential solutions being forwarded are: 1) Changing the LAN Manager authentication level, and/or 2) Disabling the Windows Search feature.
To change the LAN Manager authentication level:
From the Windows Vista / 7 desktop, click Start
    Search for: security
    Click 'Local Security Policy'
Goto Local Policies > Security Options
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: LAN Manager authentication level'
Change level to: Send LM & NTLM responses
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including RPC) clients'
    De-select 'Require 128-bit encryption'
    Click OK
     To disable Windows Search:
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features
On the right-hand side, click "Turn Windows features on/off"
Scroll down, and de-select "Windows Search".
Press OK, close all windows and restart.
A third "solution," that has worked for me, is verify that both the AirPort base station and the Win7 PC are using the exact same Workgroup Name. In my case, I use "WORKGROUP" (without the quote marks) for this name. From the AirPort Utility, you would enter this value on the Disks > File Sharing tab. On Win7, Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Change Settings > Change > Workgroup

  • Can you combine internet connections ?

I've heard that you can combine 2 internet connections in to one faster one, fisrst is this posible with the MacPro using the two gigabit ethernet ports on the back (MacPro Mid 2012)? To do this i've heard that you need a special Router, a Link Aggregation Control Protocol supported one which is about $500, but im not sure if that is the kind of router you need. Anyone who got experience in this who could help me ?
    Thanks,

Your Mac Pro 65lb tower with dual Ethernet ports does indeed support Link Aggregation.
It requires a Router or Switch that supports Link Aggregation Protocol, which is an expensive industrial-strength device.
OS X Mountain Lion: Combine Ethernet ports
If you do not have enough of a "mix" of traffic from multiple sources, some readers have complained that their speedup was disappointing. At least in older versions, connections were made in a permanent virtual circuit fashion, assigning each connection to one side or the other, and not using the full bandwidth for a single connection. Fail-over is supported just fine.
This also begs the question of where do you get anything else to connect to, that runs at 2Gbits/sec. Most Internet connections can't go anywhere near that fast, so it will not improve your download speeds.
Are you doing a lot of local File Transfers? Fiber channel may be more appropriate to support a Network Attached Storage device.
