Acrobat XI not scanning in OCR even with OCR selection

Have configured presets with "making it searchable (run OCR)" and for some reason documents are not searchable. Also not getting scanned page alert - want to get that back as well. Am wondering if I have to uninstall and reinstall?

I have a pdf file, which was OCRed by some other software, I am not satisfied with its accuracy, and would like to run adobe acrobat to OCR it again.
But Adobe says "Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because this page contains renderable text" for each page of the file.
How can I do to re-OCR the file? Thanks!

I am having a similar problem and tried your suggestion but I still get the same message. Any other thoughts or fixes? The difference in my file is I used to be able to edit the text in the PDF file. For the last few months I am no longer able to edit this file.

Why do I get Underlines even with None selected in Text Decoration

Acrobat 10 not Scanning all Pages from ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)

Acrobat 10 does not scan all of the pages from the Automatic Document Feeder from an attached scanner, and only scans some of the pages. The ADF works fine with the built-in Windows 7 Scan and Fax, as well as with HP's software, but it just won't work with Adobe Acrobat for whatever reason. The scanners that we are using are brand new, and the model is: LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276mw. The issue has been duplicated on four computers and two scanners, in a Windows 7 x64 Enterprise environment. Thank you for the suggestion! We wound up figuring out a way to make their "full feature" software (which does include the TWAIN drivers) install mostly silently, and install only if they've connected the device locally to their computer, as noted in the other post that was submitted a few minutes ago. I really appreciate all of the help that you’ve given us!
In order to duplicate the WIA driver issue, use only the “HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M276 PCL6 Print Driver (no installer)” (LJ-Pro-200-color-MFP-M276-driver-only-13170.exe) driver package. This driver only package doesn’t appear to have any of the files you mentioned in your previous post in the Scan_App folder for the TWAIN functionality (but those files are available in the “full feature” setup). We copied the entire “driver-only” folder to our plug and play driver folder, and the drivers automatically install. Once they get installed, there isn’t a TWAIN option anywhere to be found in any scanning application, just the WIA driver as far as I can tell. Adobe Acrobat 10 when using the ADF then skips some pages when scanning.
However, now that you’ve found the install files for the TWAIN driver for the scanner, this should be a non-issue for people as they can just install those and use TWAIN instead, so thank you!
Also, I find it rather amusing that you were able to help us with what appears to be an HP issue far better and faster than HP did or could. We spoke with seven people at HP, and not a single one of them pointed us in any useful direction or provide us with any useful information on the matter; had we followed any of their advice we would have lost countless hours (one person suggested taking the scanners apart and thoroughly cleaning the rollers, even though it was clearly stated they work fine from a hardware perspective with the full feature software installed and that they are brand new). So anyway, thank you. If you require anything else from us, let me know.

Firewire drives not recognized on iMac even with Apple cable adaptor

Got new iMac. All my files are on Firewire 800 external hard drives. iMac won't recognize Firewire drives even with Apple cable adaptor so cannot access old files.

I suspect a power issue, are these drives Bus powered or do they have AC power?

Siri still not working in canada even with ios 5.1

It appears that Siri still does not give directions etc in canada even with the new 5.1 release. When can I expect the service to be working fully?
I paid a lot of money for this device to not function fully.

Hey I live in Canada and I bought a 4S directly from apple (mostly to get by the constraints of a contracted phone) and while I would love to see SIRI Localization support for Canada I understand what Beta means... Being an I.T. person
However what many of you don't realize when you chastize someone like this is... Sometimes we are lead down the garden path by mobile phone providers. We don't all buy our phones from the manufacturer and as such are sometimes told what we want to hear to get that sale.
I would expect SIRI likely to be out of beta when the iPhone 5 starts to ship however. Whenever that will be...

IPhone will not sync old appointments - even with filter unchecked!

I sync my iPhone with MS Outlook on my laptop. I had some trouble getting all my appointments to sync with a 90-day old filter on. I unchecked the dat filter, but two of my recurring event (birthdays) still will not sync. In one case I just made a minor change and it worked.
In the other case, the birthday of an aunt in 1906, I had to make the start date 1998 instead of 1906. It appears there is a date filter even when the date filter is unchecked in iTunes. Anyone familiar with this? Reported bug?
If such a filter exists, it is a problem with older birthdays.

As a first step, deselect syncing your calendars via your iPhone sync preferences, and select Apple at the lower right.
Disconnect your iPhone and quit iTunes.
Launch the iSync application and go to iSync Preferences.
Select Reset Sync History.
Quit iSync and then restart your Mac.
Try selecting sync your calendars via your iPhone sync preferences, select Apple and then sync.
If this doesn't work, I would try exporting or backing up your iCal data and then deleting all calendars. Import your iCal data from the backup and try syncing again.

Thanks for answering ... Long answer sorry ... recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7. With XP I could create PDFs with/for any document I created ... I think the XP App was Acrobate Complete as well as I could print directly to a PDF file. In any case, I was always able to creat PDFs. Since upgrading to Windows 7, I lost my ability to create PDF files by conversion or by printing directly to PDF format. Therefore, I purchased the Adobe CreatePDF application from Adobe for about $100. However all Adobe CreatePDF files have a different screen icon and my Acrobate XI supplied with my new Windows 7 intsall does nor recognize the Adobe CreatePDF created files. I am guessing but I suspect the Adobe CreatePDF app is creating Postscript print files and not Windows compatible print files. I would like to tell Adobe about this Bug or failure, but it seems I am unable to contact Adobe directly and talk/chat with a human.

Ipad will not connect netgear router, even with encryption disabled

Evening everyone, I own a first generation iPad which I got at the beginning of this year, and up until 2 days ago, everything was working fine.
I have Netgear router issued by Sky which I have owned for a few years and I have owned an iPhone 3GS and I am now onto my iPhone 4, along with 2nd generation apple TV alongside my iPad.
On tuesday, my iPad stopped connecting to the internet over wifi. I have entered the password for the network, I have restored my iPad, and I have also disabled the encryption and still it will not connect.
Now last night, I manually entered details under the Static section near DHCP and suddenly it worked. I have also been to visit the Apple store at the Trafford Centre this evening and simply got told it must be something to do with my router. yet I am at a loss as to why my iPhone 4 works with no problems, as Steve Jobs says, "it just works" yet my iPad doesnt.
Can anyone help me on this one????

Thank you very much, I have now reset the router after logging in and seeing all my other devices working fine. Everything is now working, just totally surprises me that my iPhone, laptop, my mums laptop, my apple tv box would all still connect and work no problem at all.
Can anyone answer as to why this sort of things happen with routers????? My line of thinking would be that if one product can't connect, then surely the others wouldn't be able to either???. I may be totally way off beam, but this is an area where I have little knowledge.

Laptop does not always power on, even with adapter or full battery

I have a Satellite A105-S4384.
What does it mean when the power button LED is a dim blue color instead of the regular bright blue color?
When I press the power button, the LED is either a bright blue or a dim blue. If it's the bright blue, everything works, and the system boots to Windows.
If it is a dim blue, then nothing happens, just a blank screen, fan is not spinning, there is no activity other than the dim blue LED on the power button. At this point I hold the power button for about 3-5 seconds to turn it back off. Usually I follow with removing the battery, holding the power button for about 10-15 seconds, and trying again.
I thought that it may be in hibernation or similar, but I checked hibernation and the power button turns amber, not a dim blue.
I have noticed that with only the adapter, I always get the dim blue LED when I power it on, which means it will not power on. Using the battery, I get mixed results, though it usually works.
I can't find any rhyme or reason to the madness, and even purchased a new battery with no luck.
Should this model work without a battery when using AC power only, or actually should any laptop work in general without the battery as long as you have ac power?
Should mention, the power plug LED indicator is blue and the battery LED indicator is lit when the AC power is applied.
Also the power LED indicator is blue when the power button is either dim or bright blue.

There can only be two things as already been said the power supply(The plug), or the jack came loose from the motherboard. If you have a 3rd party plug be very careful with it, it is plausible for it to ruin the motherboard, and you don't want to replace a motherboard. If the jack is loose then it all that needs to be done is to resolder it back into place. I would recommend getting the name brand plug just for the safety of your motherboard.

HP Photosmart C6380 not scanning or photo printing with Windows 8

Just purchased HP M6/1125DX/15j with Windows 8. My current HP printer is an HP Photosmart C6380 All In One. The printer does work but the photo part and scanning icons no longer appear that were on my desktop before. I tried to download the whole program that said would update my printer but after 6 tries at an hour each, at the end it just said my download was cancelled. Is there any chance my printer will be supported by Windows 8 and how do I do that if I can't download. Or am I stuck buying a new printer? Thanks

The C6380 is supported in Windows 8 and has a Full Solution Download. I would try using the Print Install Wizard to help download and install the drivers.

Only vibrates does not ring or sound with text even with tones selected

HELP!!! My phone is not on silent or do not disturb but it only vibrates and does not ring or sound with text messages All sounds have been selected correctly. Any idea what could be wrong?

I don't have sound anymore either. The mute button is in the correct position, the sounds are all on and the volume is all the way up. iTunes plays but I only get vibrations when a call or text comes through. I tried resetting but it did not solve the problem.

My books are showing in my itunes but not on my ipad even with syncing! Help please?

I have about 400 books on my itunes account, they were on my ipad but now they are not! They show that they are taking up memory on my ipad on itunes but they are not there. I've synced numerous times but to no avail. Any suggestions??

First, just to rule it out, make sure you have the same color settings. The really important thing is to have Color Management Policies set to "preserve embedded profiles". With this setting, the embedded document profile (whatever it is) will be correctly handled and displayed on both systems.
But I'm more inclined to think you have a broken display profile on your work machine, especially if only Photoshop seems affected. Photoshop is likely the only application that actually uses the display profile.
All this assuming you don't have a wide gamut monitor, which changes the playing field a bit.
Anyway. To test the display profile, set sRGB IEC 61966-2.1 as display profile in Control Panel > Color Manangement > Devices (Adobe RGB if wide gamut monitor). Relaunch Photoshop so that it can pick up the new profile at startup.
Do this on both machines. If they now display more or less the same, that's definitive confirmation. The real fix is to make a new profile with a calibrator, but if you don't have one, just use sRGB until you do.
