Acrobat XI PDF Add-ins do not appear in Office 2013

I just installed Acrobat XI on a computer with Win7 and Office 2013. The program works fine but I have been unable to get the add-ins to appear in the apps. I had previously done  the  same installation on another computer of mine and all works fine. I have spent at least 10 hours trying everything I could find online and in the forums with no success.
I have unistalled and reinstalled Acrobat. I have done a total repair on Office. The results are always the same.
In Outlook, the pdf maker is shown as disabled. I click to enable it and then restart. It still does not appear and the pdf add-in is again shown as disabled. I removed the add in and then manually added it back. Same results.
In other apps (e.g. Word), the pdf maker is shown as enabled but it does not appear on the toolbar. Again, on these apps, I've tried unchecking and checking (restarting in between) with no luck. And have also deleted the add in and then manually put it back in. No success.
I also repeated all of the above by starting applications as adminstrator thinking that would make a difference. No success.
I've tried using the registry editor regsrv32 to install the .dll file but I only get errors.
I suppose there could be some registry entries that need to be deleted, but I don't have a clue which ones or where to look.
I can't find anything else to try! Any suggestions will be helpful!

I suspect you have AA 11.0.0. Update the product. OFFICE 2013 came out after AA XI and you need an update for opertion. I understand that AA XI has beeen updated to work with OFFICE 2013. In the meantime, just print to the Adobe PDF printer.

  • Acrobat 8 PDF printing with Windows 8.1/MS office 2013

I upgraded computer to Windows 8.1 and MS office professional 2013 and reinstalled adobe acrobat 8.
When I try to create pdf files from office 2013 document (Excel, Word, Publisher), computer freezes when window opens to select pfd document destination.
I tried opening office document in acrobat and try to create pdf file. I get pdf maker missing at this point.
Before updating computer I ran compatibility tool and it indicated my acrobat 8.3.1 was compatible with Windows 8.1; however noted that I needed to go to adobe website for help with adobe ExtendScript toolkit 2.  I don’t know what adobe ExtendScript toolkit 2 is and if it is associated with Adobe Acrobat or CS3.

I have no idea about the extend tool. You need to update to the latest version of AA 8, but it appears you are there with 8.3.1. You should print to the Adobe PDF printer. OFFICE 2013 is not compatible with the AA8 PDF Maker. So far I have only seen one person suggesting success with AA8 and Win8.1. If you can give details about your problem, we might be able to help, but you may not be successful. Only time and trial will tell.

  • Acrobat PDF plugin does not appear in Word 2013

After I installed Acrobat XI Pro, I do not see the Acrobat tab in the Word 2013 ribbon bar. If I use Word 2010, I do see the Acrobat tab. Is this a bug in Acrobat XI Pro that will be fixed for Word/Office 2013?

Ok, both of you have proven how "smart" you are but have failed to answer the -basis- of the question  "will Adobe fix or make compatible Acrobat 11 so the PDFMaker add-in will work with Office 2013?".  I had initially responded to kangfamily to provide more information and confirmation that the issue does exist and that the incompatibility is with both Acrobat 10 and 11, not just with 11.  I offered that it is an incompatibility with Acrobat's PDFMaker add-in and Office 2013, not a setting or other issue in either product.
Obviously Acrobat 11 was released before Office 2013 so Office 2013 will not show in their help pages.  The base, underlying question is to Adobe and that is "Is Adobe going to release a patch/update/upgrade (pick your prefered word) to Acrobat 11 that will make the PDFMaker add-in compatible with Office 2013?  And if they are, should we expect to see it soon?"  This question is the same as when Microsoft released Office 2010 and Adobe released Acrobat 10 with initial compatibility only with the 32 bit version of Office 2010 but subsequently released a patch to Acrobat 10 to make it compatible with the 64 bit version.  On that basis, the question should also indicate there are still the 2 versions of Office 2013 (32 and 64 bit) as well.  Since neither of you work for Adobe, I don't think either of you can answer that question.
PS: I am not hijacking this thread but clarifying what is occurring by providing more indepth information about the incompatibility and clarifying what the base question is.

    Hi Mohit
CR 8.5, being about 15 years old, does not support Windows 7. I am surprised this works for you with MS Office 2010 and to be honest, I'd consider my self lucky there. The fact that is does not work with office 2013... well, like I said, lucky with Office 2010 and your luck ran out with Office 2013.
Your option; rewrite the app in VS 2010 / 2012 / 2013 and use the CR Assemblies for VS .NET from SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET. The CR Java SDK would be another option.

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install for Acrobat 10 Pro

I have Acrobat 10 Pro and the Chrome extension to convert web pages to PDF does not appear in Chrome.  I tried repair installation from the Help menu in Acrobat and it still did not resolve this problem.  The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering if it's deactivated.  I am using Chrome Version 36.0.1985.143 m.
I would appreciate the links and steps I need to take in order to get the Adobe Convert to Webpage Chrome extension to be visible and functional on my Chrome toolbar and in my extensions list. The PDFMaker shows up in Internet Explorer.  I do not use Firefox.
I have already tried disabling all of my other Chrome extensions and run a repair of Acrobat via Actions.
I tried uninstalling Google Chrome, restarted my computer, downloaded the latest Chrome installer, installed Chrome, and launched Acrobat and repair Acrobat.
I'm totally at a loss at this point.
    Can you please help?
Thank you for your kind assistance!

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install (Acrobat XI)

When I installed Acrobat XI, the Chrome extension to convert webpages to PDF does not install or appear in Chrome. I tried repair installation from Help menu of Acrobat, it still did not resolve the question. The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering its deactivated.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Cheers

I think there might be some confusion about what you are asking since I think that the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension is only available for Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11) and I don't think that you will find it in the version 10 directory (although I could be mistaken since I do not have version 10).  One you update to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11), and also apply the latest updates to Google Chrome, then the extension should be enabled.  I am running Google Chrome version 33 and have Adobe Acrobat Pro version 11.0.6.70 and the extension works alright for converting basic webpages.  The Adobe installation directory that contains a copy of the extension depends on your operating system and installation and whether or not you have a 64-bit machine.  For example I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I was able to find a copy of the "WCChromeExtn.crx" extension file in the directory:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCChromeExtn"
On the other hand if you are asking how to install the "WCChromeExtn.crx" Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension without updating Adobe Acrobat Pro, that is a much more advanced procedure.  If you have Windows 7 typically certain file types and locations that will not be indexed so you may not find what you are looking for with Windows search.  That is why someone suggested using a third party search indexer to find the extension file.  Another person suggested extracting the file from the Adobe update, and I also think that is the way to go.  However the method that was described previously is very complicated and uses a lot of unnecessary scripting for what you really need.  I propose that you download the latest update directly from Adobe and then extract the extension from the update file.  Here's how to do that in Windows:
    1. Download the latest update file from Adobe (e.g. "AcrobatUpd11006.msp")
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
    2. If you are interested in some background on Windows Installer files, check out these links and read about MSP files and extracting resources, otherwise go to the next step:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/basics.html#installer-file-ty pes
    http://www.jsware.net/jsware/msicode.php5
    3. Rename the incremental update MSP file extension to CAB (e.g. from "AcrobatUpd11006.msp" to "AcrobatUpd11006.cab")
    4. Use an archive utility such as WinRAR, WinZip, or 7-Zip to open the CAB file and extract the "WCChromeExtn.crx" CRX extension file
    5. Drag and drop the extension CRX file onto open Google Chrome window extension page to install and configure (chrome://extensions/)
There are some other forum topics and a blog post that deals with some installation issues with the Google Chrome extension:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1332770
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1165998
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tip-google-chrome-the-adobe-acrobat-create-pdf-extension/
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tag/chrome/
I hope that this might help you with getting the extension installed.
I currently am having some issues with the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension for Google Chrome when I try to convert secure https webpages, the output of the PDF converter does not retain my logon information, and does not convert the secure webpage.  The resulting output of the converted https webpage is either a logon screen or a blank pdf with only the URL listed at the bottom.  I hope that this might get fixed with an update or if anyone else might know of a workaround or solution.  Thanks.

  • Office 2007 add-ins will not load on Windows 7 x64

    Hi there,
I have a brand new built Windows 7 x64 desktop with Office 2007 32 bit installed. When I install Oracle BI Publisher Desktop 11.1.1.7.0 it loads without errors. Except none of the add-ins will load. I have done the usual Add-ins / Com Add-in / Tick box but nothing.
After further investigation it appears there is a VSTO 4.0 error on the machine when I run the C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\DotNet2007\TBAddin.vsto. The error itself is only failed when it tries to download savexmldata.png from C:/Program Files (x86)/Oracle/BI Publisher/BI Publisher Desktop/DotNet2007/Resources. The fact is there isn't a folder called Resources nor a file called savexmldata.png.
I thought it may be an assemblies error and tried installing the newest versions of Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools Office Runtime (x64) but all are up to date.
    See below for the error:-

  • Word 2007, Add-ins menu, items appear twice ...

    Hi
    I'm using win7 word 2007 and OPM 10.1.
I'm attending a course in OPA/OPM and we have seen that the Add-ins menu appear weird.
Several students that attend the course are seeing the same phenomena.
If I select the add-in tab in word, the OPM short cuts appear twice, first one set, then when I scroll further to the right a second set appears.
It is only the right most set that works.
If I hover the mouse over the first set smiley face, the tooltip says "Haley Office Rules: Compile (Alt+R) ". If I check the tooltip of the rightmost set it says, "Oracle Policy Modeling: Compile (Alt+R)"
I have only installed OPM 10.1 on this pc. Not any older version (like old Haley versions)
    kind regards,
    Michael

    Hi
Try these 3 tips to restore the toolbar to how it should display:
    1. With your project open in Oracle Policy Modeling, run Update Oracle Policy Templates from the Tools menu. This will attempt to make sure the correct Word template is attached to each project Word document that is not currently excluded from the build. Open a Word document to see if the toolbar/ribbon is now displayed correctly. If not, continue to step 2.
    2. Try resetting the UI language for your project. To do this, choose Options from the Tools menu in Oracle Policy Modeling. Select Environment. Select General. Under Authoring UI Language, choose a language other than your preferred UI language, and click OK. Then repeat these steps to revert to your preferred language. Open a Word document to see if the toolbar/ribbon is now displayed correctly. If not, continue to step 3.
    3. Open one of the Word documents in your Policy Modeling project. Run the macro UpdateToolbar: In Word 2007, choose the View ribbon, then select Macros/View Macros, highlight the UpdateToolbar macro, then choose Run.

  • Acrobat XI combine to PDF feature is not working with Office 2013 is there a compatibility issue?

Tested with Office 2010 and it works fine
Seems to only be the combine to PDF feature that doesn't work, done updates, tried combining a variety of documents still no joy

There isn't any compatibility issue with Office 2013 and Combine should work with office 2013 same as it with 2010.
Can you please tell us some more details so that we can investigate the problem which you are facing:
    1) Please update the exact Acrobat version you are using. This you can find out via "Help -> About Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.." Version should be something like 11.0.x. If it is not 11.0.7, then please update it to 11.0.7 and try again.
    2) Is this problem you faced recently (after some update - Acrobat or OS update) or it never used to work earlier for you?
    3) You mentioned that when combining, it convert first document only. Can you please let us know how many documents you are combining and what are those formats?
    4) Also please update about you environment as well. Is you Operating System and MS Office 32bit or 64bit?
    Thanks,
    Vishal

  • PDF Add-on does not work with Firefox 14.0.1

I have not found a PDF add-on that works with 14.0.1. I'm forced to go to IE or Chrome when there is a PDF to be opened.

If you are not opposed to using the plugin that comes with Adobe Reader X, this article might help: [[Use the Adobe Reader plugin to view or download PDF files]].
If you prefer Foxit Reader, it might be that you need to enable the add-on or update it and then enable it.
To check for disabled add-ons, try here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons
Check both the Plugins category and the Extensions category for your PDF reader(s). You may find disabled items in a separate set at the bottom of the list.
To check for add-on updates, use the "gear" icon above the list.
