Acrobat XI Pro Activation Problems

Hello,
I can´t activate Acrobat XI Pro, the window for the licence remains empty and the acceptbutton doesn´t work. All my other cloud-applications work without problems…
Mac OS 10.6.8, MacPro 2x3,2 Quad Core

Hi Gbilsing,
Please launch any other product which is part of the CCM or Creative suite. Then, deactivate it by choosing Help > Deactivate. Quit the application.
Then, launch Acrobat and accept the EULA.
Then, for the CCM subscription product, launch it and select License This Software to enable the CCM product again.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro activation problem

Acrobat 7 activation servers have been deactivated, according to
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
    Adobe punts you to
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads
However, that page only includes the download for Acrobat 7 Standard. I purchased Pro, and need a couple of its features.
Any ideas how I can get Acrobat 7 Pro to install and activate? Also, I recently upgraded this machine to Windows 8.
    Thanks.

You can also find a download for Acrobat 8 Pro on the same page.  As Mylenium stated though you run into difficulties running Acrobat 8 or 7 on a modern operating system.

  • Acrobat X Pro Installation problem

I am upgrading from Acrobat X Standard to Acrobat X Pro.  When trying to install Acrobat X Pro I get this mesasge - "Setup has determined that you already have a more functional product installed.  Setup will now terminate."  And it does terminate!  What would be my problem?  The only other Adobe programs I have installed are - Adobe Air; Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X; Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin

Yes you should.  Although if you don't have an option to uninstall in Add & Remove Programs that is going to make it much more difficult.  You can try using the Acrobat Cleaner tool however located at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html.
Do you use a registry cleaner or any other type of system optimization utility btw?

  • Acrobat 9 pro and problems with pdf made by photoshop cs4

    Hello,
I have encountered a problem when viewing pdfs exported from photoshop cs4 using acrobat pro 9. If I open single pdf, it's ok, but whenever I open another pdf, all text is jagged. Then if I close all pdfs and try opening the second one, it's ok again. It looks like acrobat is not able to render texts correctly in newly opened pdf when another pdf is already opened.
This happens only with pdfs exported from photoshop (file->save as->pdf). It does not really matter if the first opened pdf is from photoshop or not, all other opened pdfs from photoshop are crapy.
I tried different settings when saving pdf but the results are always the same - jagged type (it does not even look like aliased, it's completely screwed and unreadable) in second pdf. It is funny because text present as smart object from illustrator renders fine all the time. Therefor I think the problem is between photoshop export and acrobat, vectors are rendered with no problems.
I tried opening on different pc (also with acrobat 9 pro) with the same result. Systems are vista on exporting pc, the second pc is running windows7 beta. However on the third pc with windows XP and adobe reader 9 everything works fine.
Any ideas how to make this work?
    regards,
    embee

Solution found for me. From Adobe Acrobat & Reader 9.1 Release Notes:
Roaming Profiles on Windows and Networked Home Directory on Macintosh
are not supported configurations for 9.0 or 9.1, however we have made
several fixes in 9.1. We are looking at the possibility of supporting
this for the next major release.
As I am working with roaming profiles, my current solution (which is no solution at all) is to wipe current and reinstall Acrobat/Reader 8. Among other things there are supposed console hacks to make the purchased Adobe software run at all in a group work environment. I will end up trying them later.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro setup problem

I have just replaced Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard with Adobe Acrobat X Pro. My computer runs with Windows XP Pro and  I use Microsoft Office Professional 2003. For some reason my mouse no longer works in Word. It works in every other program and works on the Toolbars and buttons within Word but is completed locked out of any document. I assume that Acrobat has altered a setting within Word during the setup process. Can you tell me the quick fix please?

Thanks for the suggestion. I cannot see how replacing the driver would make any difference when the mouse works everywhere except Word. I have narrowed down the problem. I use Microsoft Outlook for emails which in turn uses Word 2003 as the email editor. The mouse does not work in the text box to write emails. If I close Outlook I receive a message "Do you want to save the changes to PDFM Custom?" This never appeared in Acrobat 8. If I close down Outlook and open Word the mouse works as it should and can select text. It seems likely that Acrobat X Pro has created a conflict within Outlook and my money is on PDFM Custom. There is a new button in Outlook to attach as PDF. I have deselected that in the Outlook Tools/options and it seems that the mouse is now working in Outlook and I can run Word at the same time. Hurrah.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro installation problem

I have some problem while installing the acrobat 9 pro where download from adobe.com
While I start to install to acrobat 9 pro, then there will be a window that will count from 00.00% to 100%, right. After counting to 100%, the window will close and there is no more further action for me to choose. It seems that the install has stopped after counting to 100%. How can I solve it?

The most economical way is to return your purchase, get a refund, and then purchase the full version (somewhere?).

  • Acrobat X Pro launch problem

I'm having the same problem I've seen others write about with CS6 and Acrobat X Pro not launching every now and then. I've tried the solution of deactivating in another CS6 application and reactivating, but it hasn't worked in the past.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional. In Programs and Features, I have the following applications listed:
Adobe Acrobat X Pro - English, Français, Deutsch
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard
Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Standard
Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard
Each time I have the problem, I uninstall the first one that I listed above. I also click on the last (CS6) and uninstall only Acrobat X. Then I restart the system and reinstall CS6 Acrobat only.
I presume I still have CS4 and CS5 listed because I upgraded from one to the next. I don't use the old versions anymore. Should I remove any of these permanently? Would that help solve the problem? Even though I uninstall the first one, it always comes back when I install Acrobat through the CS6 setup file.
Thanks for any suggestions! This uninstall and reinstall is getting very annoying. I used to think it happened only once a month, which was bad enough, because it always interrupts my work flow to not be able to open a PDF file as usual. But then, after reinstalling this past weekend, Adobe updated Acrobat on my system last night, and this morning the problem occurred again, only a couple of days since the previous time. That's even more frustrating!

I'm sorry I wasn't able to try your suggestion till today. I performed the first step: I downloaded the file Acrofix.zip, extracted the file and executed it. Everything appeared to work correctly. I wasn't having the problem today, so will I have to wait to apply the fix till Acrobat doesn't start again, or will running the fix today fix it for good?

  • Acrobat 9 Pro form problem

I've created a form in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and it works well. It's a survey form. The problem is when I set the form using "Extend Features with Acrobat Reader", the reader version of the form "remembers" past entries for fields which require free form entries. I've tried using "Clear Form" and then saving the document as another version, but when I open it up with Reader, and I click on the free form fields, I get a drop down of previous entries into those fields.
So, how do I clear this information out of the Acrobat file once and for all?

Is it tunred off for the Reader installation or in your Acrobat installation. It doesn't matter what your Acrobat settings are when it's used by someone else with Reader.
Recent versions of Acrobat/Reader do not cache form data in the way mentioned by GKaiseril. This used to happen when a form was viewed in a browser.

  • Acrobat X Pro install problem

I am trying to install Acrobat X Pro on a laptop that originally had Windows Vista and Acrobat 8 on it.  I deactivated and uninstalled Acrobat 8, and upgraded the OS to Windows 7 (32-bit) via an inplace upgrade (not a clean install of Windows). I am trying to install Acrobat X from the downloaded file AcrobatPro_10_Web_WWEFD.exe. The installation completes correctly but the installed program will not run, it does not open so the install has not been activated or registered. I have tried running as administrator, deleting & reinstalling, running AcrobatCleaner, renaming the cache (various tips from forums) but nothing helps.  Customer Service tells me it's not an activation issue, I still have a valid install left (I also have the program installed on a desktop machine running Windows 7 (64-bit) where it does run correctly). Any suggestions?

In place upgrade is not recommend step.
Inplace upgrade might be the reason for this if you can afford i would suggest install Windows 7 from scratch or may may also
uninstall Acrobat first from the computer and try windows Repair using the OS disc.
    And try installing Acrobat again.
Please let me know the result.
    Regards,
    Ajlan Huda.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro - Toolbar Problem

    Hi,
2 days ago I bought a new Dell T5400 precision workstation.  I am using XP Pro SP3. No anti-virus software yet.
After installing everything (Office, Quark, PageMaker, CS3) I launched Acrobat and all seemed well until I used the cropping tool.
At this point everything slowed to a crawl.
Same problem if I use the hand tool - perhaps other tools may also give the problem.
Uninstalled every application including CS3 and used the cleansweep utility (think it is called that) to make sure no legacy bits of CS3 remained.
Re-installed just Acrobat Pro but the problem persists. The programme launches in a blink of an eye and I can zoom in and out at blistering speed until I use the crop tool and then everything just slows right down again to the point where you think the application has frozen. After quiting and re-launching everything works at blistering speed again until I use the cropping tool or the hand tool. Same problem if I choose Document > Crop Pages.
Have tried several different Acrobat files.
Tried installing the Acrobat updates one at a time until 8.1.6 (I think) but the problem persists.
So now, apart from any software that was pre-installed on the machine the only things I have added is Acrobat Pro 8.
The only other think to say is that I used PartitionMagic from Norton before I started.
I haven't tried to re-install the system software and am reluctant to go through this pain unless someone has overcome this problem by doing this before.
I'm guessing that Acrobat 8 Pro has a conflict issue with something on the machine.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Russ

In the end it turned out that the standard graphics card which came with my Dell Precision Workstation (nVidia 290) is not supported by Acrobat Pro 8.
I just assumed it would be.
We had a PC Wizard around for 5 hours and having turned on the 2D GPU option in Acrobat Preferences without any success, he went deep down into the machine and turned things off that were on by default and turned things on that were off (memory allocation I think).
After this everything is fine. In fact we can turn off the 2D GPU option and it doesn't seem to affect anything.
I should add that I had actually bought 2 identical workstations from Dell and they both failed to work properly with Acrobat 8.
    Thanks for all your help.
    Russ

  • Acrobat X Pro trial (problems in installing)

I downloaded Acrobat X Pro trial but could not complete the installation.
The error windows says there is a problem with the system requirements but that should be ok.
I have Windows Vista and about 30 GB of free memory space.
    Thank you for your help

Vaharmony if you do not currently have another web browser available then please download and install one.  It is usually a good practice in general to have an alternate browser available to utilize when having an inconsistent experience on the World Wide Web.

  • After upgrading to Acrobat X Pro, having problems editing text

I just upgraded to Acrobat X Pro from Acrobat 8 Professional. I've opened a document (created in Acrobat 8) and when I try to edit the text, it all seems fine until I try to save it. Then the formatting goes awry. The spacing between paragraphs disappears and the document is one solid block, so to speak. I've tried various methods of text editing/saving but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts? Thanks.
    russ

While editing is allowed its just meant to correct a misspelling here or there. Not whole sentences. Another thing that can affect light editing of PDF with Acrobat on OSX.6.7.
On some applications bad fonts (use FontBook) to verify your fonts. Open Fontbook without any applications on (such as acrobat, Reader, Ms Office). select all fonts. in click on box that shows fonts. Randomly select a font. The hold command key(⌘) press A, that selects all fonts. Look for and use Verify Fonts. Any fonts that can not be verified, or repaired with a Font reair Program should be removed.
also while all fonts are selected, look for an use reconcile Fonts. This looks for Duplicate fonts. In some cases the same application would use one version one time andanother another time thus causing spacing problems.  click on each one found and see which is duplicated. Disable the oldest version.
do this with all duplicate fonts found.
If the above corrects the problem, locate disabled fonts, User >Library >Fonts disabled and Main Library Fonts disabled remove to desktop Make archives and place archives in safe place( in case you need to swap fonts).
Next if you have X.6.7 Install this Patch: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1377. This corrects some font problems caused by the OSX.6.7 the update that affects Adobe Products, (such as Acrobat, Reader Indesign and others, As well as Microst Products for Mac)

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Installation Problem

Hi, I just bought Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.  Cannot install it as I get a message that my serial # is for an upgrade version only of Adobe Acrobat Pro.  I also have Adobe Reader 9 in my computer.  What is the most economical way to install it without paying for further upgrades and/or versions? Many thanks, Oscar.

The most economical way is to return your purchase, get a refund, and then purchase the full version (somewhere?).

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro update problem

I just received and downloaded an update, but now I can't open my Acrobat X Pro or the Distiller.  The distiller boxe briefly flashes on the screen but doesn't open.  Acrobat briefly gets an orange halo around it on my taskbar but doesn't open.

Received from where. You should update from the Acrobat help menu or go to the http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows site to download updates. If you just accepted a download from some place else, you may have just installed a virus.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Scan Problem

Using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro version 9.5.1 - All of a sudden scanned documents are showing all dark grey. It was working perfect 2 days ago. All documents are scanned through the Epson scanner.  I searched updates, checked plug-ins and even did a 'repair acrobat installation'. nothing .  What can I do now?

Suggestion - When giving answers it would be helpful to give all details ie Preferences > Page Display > Show Large Images.
    This was perfect - Thanks
