Acrobat XI pro doesn't create a printer

Hi, after installation of Acrobat XI pro there is no printer created. I'm using Windows XP SP 3.

Is this system a 64-bit version? With XP, that was not common.
Have you done any updates to AA XI? The updates may resolve the issue.
You are looking for the "Adobe PDF" printer, aren't you?

Adobe Acrobat NI Pro doesn't recognize my wireless scanner, a Canon MG5520, but it prints from the same MG5520. This is ridiculous!

I just used the "Quick Menu" in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro after wasting hours several days when the SSID and Network key/password were already activated and the Adobe software claimed no scanner was available. . These Adobe user manuals are next to useless. Now I'm still dealing with this problem: "Save As was unable to find tables in the document No file was created." (i.e., from the pdf file I created using NI). Well it's obvious there are tables in the pdf, but so far I haven't been able to get a result to determine the intrinsic accuracy of Adobe's pdf to Excel capability.

  • Acrobat X Pro suddenly no Adobe PDF printer available within applications

I have been using X Pro for 2 months following installation of CS5.5 Premium. I used to be able to print-to-file using the Adobe PDF printer in the print dialog box from within apps such as Word and Finale. Suddenly that option is absent from my print dialog box in all apps.

    Hi Bill,
I'm SO glad I tried your HELP suggestion first because un- and re-installing was going to be my next step and I dreaded it, and now, given the info you provide below, it appears it was a good thing I didn't do it. Thanks for the further information. I keep a log to refer to when gremlins like this pop up and this is going into it ASAP!!!

Great. We often hear of folks having uninstalled and reinstalled and problems not going away. The repair is the first line of defense if you have not been able to track down a problem. The last line is a reinstall. One of the problems with reinstalls is that folks do not clean up the system before the install. That clean up should include removal of all latent folder parts left by Acrobat and also running a registry cleaner (MS used to have one, but it is not longer available -- making CCleaner the typical cleanup). So if you have problems in the future, try to trouble shoot it and come to the forum if you need help. Sometimes, the repair is a quick fix, and lastly with no other answers do the reinstall--BUT with the cleanup along the way. Again, glad it worked for you.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro do not open when printing a pdf document. Can anyone help?

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro do not open when printing a pdf document, instead I open it with Adobe Reader X to be able to print.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Edna,
It sounds like Adobe Reader X is your default PDF file handler. Launch Adobe Reader X.  Choose Edit > Preferences > General.  Click the 'Select Default PDF Handler' button at the bottom and choose Acrobat 9 from the drop-down menu.  Click Apply, then OK.
Restart your computer.  Acrobat 9 should now be your default PDF file handler again.

  • Acrobat 9 pro 9.3.2 click printer properties deletes printer

when using acrobat 9 pro 9.3.2 to print a document, and i select an HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, clicking
the "Properties" button does NOT bring up the properties window (so that i can select double-side
d printing, for instance) and the printer is then deleted.  I can no
longer print to that printer until i re-install it.  can anyone help?  thanks!

Funny, I just found this tech note:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/509/cpsid_50981.html
The Adobe PDF Printer is not available or is unusable in Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6). This situation is due to security features in Snow Leopard that disable the Adobe PDF Printer. Adobe Acrobat 9.1 Pro removes the Adobe PDF Printer and adds a new Save As Adobe PDF command. Customers using earlier versions of Adobe Acrobat in Snow Leopard cannot use the Adobe PDF Printer.
Does this also affect Acrobat 8 then...?
    Best,
    Wolfgang

  • Hello. I have adobe forms and received the alert that it will be ending in July. Then I received an email about Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which can create forms. I signed up for the free trial and when I began to make a new form it brings me back to Adobe Form

Hello. I have adobe forms and received the alert that it will be ending in July. Then I received an email about Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which can create forms. I signed up for the free trial and when I began to make a new form it brings me back to Adobe Forms. My question is, when Adobe Forms ends on July 28th will Adobe Acrobat XI Pro be able to create forms or will it now? and if not, then why is adobe advertising for it still?

What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

  • Acrobat x pro doesn't recognize epson scanner

Acrobat x pro doesn't recognize my epson perfection 1670 scanner. Other applications recognize this scanner. What can I do?
All software and drivers are updated.
    Acrobat x pro ver10.1.4
Mac os x 10.8.1, mountian lion

Twain Sane can be downloaded HERE.  Others have recommended it as well and it is a viable option if your scanner is no longer supported under Mountain Lion.
It is a bit of work to install and configure, but the developer says a preference pane is available and makes it a bit easier. Check out the site for instructions on how to install and configure it.

    Prakash,
Since I couldn't get a hold of someone at Adobe today, Sunday, would you please let me know about the following:
    1)  My laptop has "blue screen of death".  What can Adobe do for me if I restored my system back to when I first bought it from the store and potentially lose my Adobe X?
    2) I bought my Adobe X on Jan. 10, 2010 thru Barnes & Noble Campus E store thru JourneyEd.

  • Acrobat X Pro doesn't see HP Deskjet 2050 scanner

I'm running OS X 10.6.7. Recently installed an HP Deskjet 2050 all-in-one printer / scanner. Both are working fine, however Acrobat X Pro (v. 10.0.2) doesn't recognize the scanner, so I'm unable to create PDFs from it. The printer driver is up to date.
I saw in the forum that there is a similar problem with Acrobat 9, there said that the same has been fixed in Acrobat X. However, I'm still having this problem and I don't know how to fix it. The Acrobat online help is very poor, didn't find support for scanners.
Solutions, comments, suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

I'm not really sure there's anything you can do. I have a low-end HP all-in-one printer/scanner (got it free when I purchased an iMac). I wasn't even expecting to scan to PDF. But when I brought up the File > Create > Scan from PDF, it was just there. There was no special installation required. It was just a scanner driver that Acrobat X Pro could recognize. I guess all I can suggest is looking for other HP printer/scanner drivers or calling HP Support.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro doesn't recognize Scanner

And this happened out of the blue.  I've had Acrobat 9 installed on this new HP system for a few months and it's attached through our network to an HP Officejet Pro All-in-one, which it uses to print and scan.  All of a sudden about a week ago, Acrobat up and decides that it will no longer scan from this printer.  I've uninstalled the printer, the drivers and reinstalled them and everything.  Every program in Windows 7 detects the printer fine and prints to it with no problem, ACROBAT PRINTS TO THIS PRINTER, but when I go to Create a new PDF from the scanner, it tells me to choose which scanner I want and the only option is another scanner elsewhere in the office on the network.
How do I get Acrobat to acknowledge the scanner on this printer again?

I have just encountered the same problem. Anybody know answer? Linda

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Doesn't OCR Entire Page

I have scanned many paper invoices. I have Acrobat 9 Pro OCR them using the "Searchable Image (Exact)" setting. It does an acceptable job of recognizing most text, but there are parts of the invoices that aren't being OCR'd. See this link for a typical example. As you can see, the form has shaded areas which are the equivilent of field labels. I don't care that they don't OCR. However, the first line of characters below a shaded label is also often not OCR'd either. In the example, see "Invoice Number" in the top right corner. The invoice number ("S3436463.025") is not OCRd. That really cripples my project. There is also a lot of information in the body of the invoice which is not OCR'd.
I have several hundred pages of invoices. I need to save each invoice (typically one page) as a separate document with a name to match the invoice number. If I could OCR the invoice, then select the invoice number, ctrl-c copy to my clipboard, then File Save As using the invoice number it  would save me HOURS of work.
    1. What can I do to get Acrobat 9 Pro to OCR everything that's not shaded?
    2. If Acrobat 9 Pro can't do what I need, is there a 3rd party app which will do this that you'd recommend?

It is not being OCRd because the quality of the type is incredibly poor. It looks like it was printed either using bad thermal paper or an old dot matrix printer. You probably cannot fix things for what was already created. Sometimes we used to be able to increase the quality by xeroxing the bad printout and scanning that image, but I doubt that it will help  here.

  • Acrobat X Pro v10.1.9: Cannot print to Adobe PDF Printer (access is denied)

    Hello.
Suddenly I was not able to print Office 2013 files / Autocad files / Internet Explorer pages directly to Adobe PDF Printer anymore on my WINDOWS 7 Ultimate x64 sp1 computer.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat X Pro, but the issue was not resolved.
Neither after updating to the latest version (10.1.9).
When I try to print from any software (Office 2013 / AutoCAD 2012 / Others), are displayed two windows:
    a) the first one named "Printing (not responding)", with the information: "now printing the file..."
    b) the second one named "Save PDF File As", to where I do not have access to the filename fied to insert it neither to click the "cancel" button to abort the print dialog. It seems that this window is not active.
I have to click on the red "X" button on the first window to shutdown the application. Here is the error dialog I got:

When I try to print a webpage in Internet Explorer using the same printer, I get an "Adobe PDF" window stating "Access is denied".
Can anyone help me restoring this feature?

The reinstall is typically the last ditch effort to do. The first step is Help>Repair and Help>Updates. As far as Office 2013, the PDF Maker of AA X is not compatible and you can only print. In your list of errors it showed a problem with AcroTray.exe. As a first step, go to the print and select print-to-file. The file will be a PS file (maybe with a PRN extension). Once the printer if finished, open the file in Distiller to complete the process. If that is successful, then the problem is with AcroTray. Check your running tasks to be sure AcroTray is indeed running. If not, that is likely the problem. If it is, then restart it (it is located in the Acrobat folder). AcroTray provides the interface between the PS creation and Distiller to automate the process of creating the PDF.
