Acrobat XI Pro Installed, Activated, Cannot Register

Acrobat XI Pro (Mac) was purchased, installed (a valid license key was entered at time of installation), and activated. I did not register it at the time of installation because I did not then have the Adobe ID available. I have subsequently attempted to register the installation with Adobe using the proper Adobe ID.
The first attempt was using the online registration page (https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/gpr/index.cfm) but that link yields either a blank page (in Firefox, Safari) or a 404 error (in Internet Explorer) on every computer (Mac and PC) and browser on which I have attempted to use it. The link to that page came from Adobe - Product Registration Options.
Next I attempted to register from within the installed product. When I clicked on Help / Register, I received a message that my TRIAL would expire in 30 days! This would seem to me to indicate that the software was not activated even though I received an activation confirmation at the time I installed. When I used the option to enter the serial number, the window just closed without any other response and when I clicked Help / Register again, I got the same "trial will expire in 30 days" message.
This installation is for a public library, which obtained a download link and license key from Tech Soup, which is a highly reputable, legitimate organization providing limited quantities of reduced-cost software to qualified non-profit organizations. It is for a perpetual standalone license, and it was not installed using Creative Cloud.
I contacted Adobe Help via chat but they were not helpful.
Acrobat XI Pro also was installed and activated on three Windows 7 PCs at the same time. Other than the failed attempts to register online using the link above, I have not yet attempted to register them from within the software.

Yes, I installed 3 different valid license keys on 3 PCs and one valid license key on one Mac. Same problems originally described exist on all, except that I have subsequently been able to register all with Adobe. But I still have the bogus messages about my trial expiring in 30 days even though I installed with valid license keys and activation was confirmed at the time of installation.

  • Acrobat X Pro install package does not remove Adobe Reader X

I am using the Adobe Customization Wizard X to deploy our Acrobat X Pro install. In the transform I have both options checked to removed previous versions of Acrobat and Reader.
The only version of Reader that does not get removed is Reader X. Has anyone else run into this? I've had version 8 and 9 get removed, but any system that has Reader X, keeps it, and Acrobat X Pro get's installed as well.
I understand Adobe will support that configuration, but I'd prefer to have just one PDF reader
    Any input is appreciated

Same problem in our environment. It seems, that Reader X is not understood as an old or minor version as it was in previous versions and therefore, both, Acrobat X and Reader X can coexist on a machine.

Restart with the Option key held down and use Lion's recovery partition to install onto that drive. Alternatively, clone your existing system to that drive, run DiskWarrior on the clone, restart from the clone, and use DiskWarrior to repair the internal drive.

    Hi Bruce,
Please open registry by typing "regedit" in the Run window (Windows + R)
Now, navigate to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application and changing the Key from "AcroviewA10"  to  "AcroviewR10.

then go to '/applications/Adobe Application Manger' the option will be set to 'install'

  • Acrobat XI Pro install error 1636 - cannot get around it. How to do?

I had installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and it worked for a few months. Then it stopped. I tried to repair it and could not - so I tried to uninstall. Most uninstalled, but there is still one "program" listed that cannot be uninstalled ( I get message: "This package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Patch Package."). When  I try to re-install, I get error message: "ERROR: Install MSI payload failed with error: 1636 - This update package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer update package.
    MSI Error message:
ERROR: Third party payload installer AcroPro.msi failed with exit code: 1636"
I installed on HP Elitebook 8540w with Windows 7, x86
Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I was already on live support with Adobe for 3 hours and they could not fix it. I really need help and need the software functioning again as it should.

    Hi keyarc,
Please use the Acrobat cleaner tool ( Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs ) to remove the software completely.
Reboot the machine, install Acrobat and check.

  • Acrobat X Pro install problem

I am trying to install Acrobat X Pro on a laptop that originally had Windows Vista and Acrobat 8 on it.  I deactivated and uninstalled Acrobat 8, and upgraded the OS to Windows 7 (32-bit) via an inplace upgrade (not a clean install of Windows). I am trying to install Acrobat X from the downloaded file AcrobatPro_10_Web_WWEFD.exe. The installation completes correctly but the installed program will not run, it does not open so the install has not been activated or registered. I have tried running as administrator, deleting & reinstalling, running AcrobatCleaner, renaming the cache (various tips from forums) but nothing helps.  Customer Service tells me it's not an activation issue, I still have a valid install left (I also have the program installed on a desktop machine running Windows 7 (64-bit) where it does run correctly). Any suggestions?

In place upgrade is not recommend step.
Inplace upgrade might be the reason for this if you can afford i would suggest install Windows 7 from scratch or may may also
uninstall Acrobat first from the computer and try windows Repair using the OS disc.
    And try installing Acrobat again.
Please let me know the result.
    Regards,
    Ajlan Huda.

  • Acrobat XI Pro: Licensed / activated version in trial mode and expire after 30 days

First, when viewing a PDF file, my licensed Acrobat XI Pro (v11.0.10) closes the PDF and shows accept license agreement window.
    I accepted the license-agreement.
Then a window showed up telling me to log-in into my Adobe-account, clicked on log-in.
Log-in window did not appear though.
I re-launched Acrobat and it is now telling me that it is a trial version for 30 days.
    Great!
    "Help->Deactivate" is greyed out.
I may go into my Adobe account, Acrobat XI Pro is listed there, together with the key.
    Now what?

    Later:
with thanks to the solution from Vikrantt Singh
on: Re: Acrobat XI Pro Repeatedly Asking to License Despite Registering/Activating
minor exception - in my case the folders
    \Adobe PCD
    \SLCache
    were located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    so:
    1) Delete the Adobe PCD-folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
    2) Delete the SL Cache-folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
    3) Delete the Sl Store-folder under C:\ProgramData\Adobe
    4) Launch Acrobat again and activate
    Now things are fine again.

the errors occur shortly after booting the system.  is there a fix for these errors?

z solution is pretty simple. as always when users should repair Adobe Corp errors  while Adobe Corp's time of sweat dreams....
    1. download & install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update (latest VC++2005) both x86 & x64:
        http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14 431
       this is mainly for availability of ms assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50608.0" processorArchitecture="x86" (and amd64) publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" in ur Win7sp1x64;
    2. download & install z free resources editor application from here http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
    3.  open in Resource Hacker file FormDesigner.exe subfolder '24' then '1' and click string 1033. then change z part of this string as explained below. in short it's just swap all "x86" entries to "*" ones (means either x86 or amd64):
    a) original string:

  • Acrobat X Pro installed, but Help didn't

I work at a large agency—about 2800 employees—and we cannot get any Help from Acrobat X Pro.
But that isn't Adobe's fault. We upgraded from 9 to X at least 8 months ago. Ever since, whenever any one of us has hit "Help," we have gotten the same message:
There's a good reason the browser can't find the file at that address. There aren't any files there. In fact, there is no /X folder in C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Help/en_US/acrobat/.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled from our NAL. Same result.
Our IT folks say this is as it should be—that all Adobe help is now online, so there are no files to be installed on our computers. Funny thing, though: All help has been online for a while. So we found an installation of Acrobat 9 Pro, copied the /9 folder from /Adobe/Help/en_US/acrobat into my installation of Acrobat X Pro, renamed the folder /X instead of /9, and voila! We were taken to the correct Help topic for our context, regardless of what we were doing. Everything worked.
Except that we were taken to the help for  9, not X.
Still, IT insists that there are no files on their CDs, there are no files to be downloaded from Adobe's site, and there should be no such files—indeed, no /Help folder—on our C: drives.
And they just closed a 7-month-old Help ticket with no progress on the fix.
Some of us who are affected are on Windows 7; others are on Windows XP. It seems like that shouldn't matter, though.
Is there a place I can point the IT guys to so they will find the solution to this problem?

  • Acrobat 7 Pro requires activation from time to time

I have installed Acrobat 7 Pro v7.1.0 on a netbook.
Now, Acrobat requires activations. The time distance between activation requirements gets shorter and shorter.
The Error Message (translated from german to english):
The configuration of your computer was changed since last activation
If you want to use your product furtgher press OK to reactivate it again
    for the new system configuration.
After pressing OK the activation process starts and is finished with a "Thank you for activating".
The error occurs sometimes 5 timesc a day !!!
I am wondering how often i can activate the product.
I have NO VMware or other virtual machine software running on this netbook.
I've already reinstalled the software. Same error.

XP 64-bit is unsupported. However, when these problems occur under Acrobat 7, there was a patch downloadable from an Adobe site. It was only made available through the Activation hotline, since it required a reset of the Acrobat activation settings on the Adobe activation server. I do not know if they Adobe makes this patch available to XP 64-bit users or if it will solve the problem in this environment.

  • Error 1500 in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Install

I have Windows 8.1, and I am attempting to download Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from the content disc provided when I purchased Creative Suite 5 some time ago. During installation, I received the Error 1500 message. No existing forum is solving my problem. I have tried unregistering, then re-registering my Windows Installer. There are also no mid-installation processes in my registry. Also, the fact that I can only get customer support over a forum is unpleasant to me. That seems a little consumer elitist, don't you think? Anyway, I digress. If you can, please help.

    Hi athoopes,
We apologize for the inconvenience, we would try to help you with this issue.
I would like to inform you that there could also be an issue with the compatibility between Acrobat 9 pro and windows 8.1 as it was not tested on win 8.1.
Check system requirements System requirements | Acrobat family of products
Kindly check if the log files(.GZ) for acrobat is getting created on the below mentioned location.
