Acrobat XI Pro & Mac OS X 10.7.5

I have Mac OS X 10.7.5 and I'm about to try installing a trial version of XI Pro - but the download instructions suggest that it will only work with Mac OS X v10.6.8, v10.7.4, or v10.8 - is that right??  Also I use firefox not safari yet the download notes suggest that I need to be using a specif version of safari if using a mac. Again is that right?  This all sounds very complicated to me!  Any help appreciated

These would have been the versions it was tested with. 10.7.5 is a small update to 10.7.4 and should be fine.
Acrobat adds certain functions to Safari. These won't be available with other browsers, but the rest of the product isn't affected.

  • Flattening a stamp in Acrobat 9 Pro (mac)

I use a stamp for my signature in Acrobat 9 Pro (mac). After placing my stamp signature, resizing and placing on the signature line where I want it, I have been using "Preflight" and "Flatten Annotations and Form Fields" to flatten my stamp so it prints/exports/emails with the signature firmly placed.
However, recently, when I use that preflight setting the stamp is re-enlarged to the full size (from when I placed it) and moved to the middle of the document.  The process is completely unusable.
Does anybody know what I am either doing wrong or what needs fixing?
I confirmed this in multiple documents.
    Thanks.

Have you tried flattening using PDF Optimizer (under Dischard objects)?
Another tool you can use can be found here: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Acrobat XI Pro Mac: Changing Text Color moves Text within Paragraph

    Dear Acrobat Experts!
I've been using Acrobat Pro for over a decade now (Win and Mac) - but Acrobat XI Pro Mac shows some behavior I cannot deal with:
When I'm changing text color of say a couple of words within a paragraph, usually the formatting changes and text is being moved/shifted. It looks like the text with altered color requires more space and consequently the following words are shifted which very often ruins the whole formatting. This makes Acrobat XI for me nearly unusable, I had never a behavior like this in former Acrobat versions (Win or Mac).
I cannot believe that this is "normal" - so what's the mistake I'm making? For illustration please see the two screenshots I included.
I'm looking forward to your helpful comments!
    Oliver

    Hi Sukrit!
    Thanks for your assistance.
This is the first and only Acrobat version ever I had this problem with. I am running Acrobat Version 11.0.10 under Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite on a MacBook Pro 15" Retina display. I am working on Mac only since Acrobat Pro 7 - the versions before were Windows.
So I cannot comment on Acrobat XI Pro Win.
This is happening with all of my PDF docs - regardless of origin (textbook, scientific journal, or PDFs I generated by myself as export from office applications etc.).
The only difference is the amount of changes to the formatting (shifting of text).
To illustrate my workflow I generated a screencast and uploaded it here:
    <Dropbox - Acrobat_XI_Pro_Mac_3.mp4>
Looking forward to hear from you again!

  • Reinstalling ACROBAT XI PRO MAC OS

I had purchased ACROBAT XI PRO MAC OS in December 2012 and installed it.  I have just gotten a new computer and migrated everything to the new computer.  There is now no option to re-enter my serial number.  Instead I am launched into a trial for Acrobat XI Pro when I click on the Acrobat application.  Help!  (The online options for contacting Adobe lead me in a complete circle, by the way, with no option to contact Adobe or to launch the "chat" that is mentioned.  Very frustrating.)

(Note: uninstall with the Adobe Acrobat Uninstaller app in the Acrobat Pro folder).

  • Where to download Acrobat X Pro MAC

where to download Acrobat X Pro MAC? I have the serial.

I have a note with this link for the trial version (you can activate to full use with your serial number) indicating it is only good for Windows.  Since there is a link for a Mac version on the page I cannot tell if this remains as an errant link or if it has been repaired since I added the note:
To have it wwork at all, be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

I get an error message when I try to export to word using adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac.  Any tips?

    Hi Bill,
Thanks for replying.  The entire message is below.  Any ideas?
Acrobat was unable to make this document accessible because of the following error:

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Mac download link?

I need a download link for Acrobat 9 Pro for MACINTOSH - I bought it in 2010 and have a valid serial number but cannot find the link to download it from the Adobe site (but weirdly, there is one for windows...)
I tried using live chat for assistance which proved less than helpful - the agent would not provide support because it isn't the latest version. (???)
(Apparently I'm no longer considered a customer worth helping because my software isn't the latest... don't quite get that but ok... *cancels creative cloud subscription*)
Was advised to post in the forum for help, however, I know this question has been asked before many times before and no one seems to get very far with it, but worth a try.
    Thanks

    Hi Rebecca,
Sorry for the inconvenience, please try the steps below to get the Acrobat 9 pro for mac.
Go to the below mentioned URL
Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat XI Professional
After the trial for Acrobat 11 opens, paste the URL http://trials2.adobe.com/Applications/Acrobat/APRO/9/APRO9_Mac_WEB_WWEFG.dmg (Replace the old one with this)

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro Mac download

Where on adobe's website can i download adobe acrobat X Pro for Mac?

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.
Acrobat X Pro, Reader, and Suite:

The site linked above is set up to download the files from the Adobe servers, which is why you need to closely follow the Instructions.

  • Launching Adobe Acrobat X Pro (Mac) first causes other CS5.5 apps to prompt for serial

    Hi,
As in the title. Does not matter which machine we install Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection onto if we start Adobe Acobat X Pro first it will fire up and work fine. However if we then quit Adobe Acrobat X Pro and then try and launch any of the other CS5.5 apps such as Photoshop it will prompt for a serial number.
If we install CS5.5 and launch any of the other CS5.5 apps such as Photoshop it works as per nomal. We can then load Adobe Acrobat Pro X and quit it and the CS5.5 apps still work without prompting for a serial.
Is anyone else experiencing this on a Mac?
We have tried different model Macs all with clean os installs and only CS5.5 install and it is all repeatable. We have also tried installing CS5.5 manually as well as using the AAME to package it and the same behaviour occurs.
    Any ideas?
This is a major issue as we will deploy this to numerous computer labs so if a student starts Adobe Acrobat X Pro first then all the other CS5.5 apps will prompt for a serial.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Lachlan

I haven't seen this on CS5.5 but in the CS4 and earlier if you started Bridge or Acrobat first you would be prompted to launch one of the other applications first. AFAIK, there's no way around this.

  • Acrobat X Pro Mac upgrade from 9 Pro Ex PC

I had been running Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my PC and when I recently went back to a Mac, Adobe sales said I could just buy an upgrade and enter my old serial number and it'd all be good.  Doesn't like my old serial number as it wants a Pro version from the Mac for a serial number to upgrade from.  In need of getting this working ASAP and have been on ignore with tech support for the past 30 minutes after being told it would be a 3-6 minute wait.  What do I do?

  • Intall Error - Adobe Acrobat X Pro - Mac OSX (10.8.4) Mountain Lion

    Hi,
I cannot install Adobe Acrobat X Pro on my Mac running Mountain Lion. The install file is through my university. The Installer runs like normal but end with the following screen:
I can send the lntall log if necessary. I have turned off Gatekeeper so it cannot be that. What is wrong??
    Marius

Thanks for your response. However, I do not have any other version of Adobe Acrobat installed. I even tried to remove Adobe Reader, but same response. The only other Adobe product I have installed is Adobe Air, but that should not have any effect.
    Any other tips?

  • Submit Form Button Acrobat X Pro Mac

I used Acrobat X Pro for the first time a couple of months ago. I created a form and when I was finished there was a Submit Form button in the purple field at the top of the document next to the Highlight Existing Fields button, and the text to the left of the buttons said "Please fill out the following form. When finished, click Submit Form to return the completed form. You can save data typed in this form.". I did not create any buttons on this form manually. I want to do this again for another form but I cannot figure out how I did it the first time. I have seen discussions on how to create a submit button, but I cannot get that to work either. Plus I think the Submit Form button looks nicer anyway. Please Help!!
    What I Need:
    - a pdf form with a submit button that will email me a copy of the completed form when pressed
    - the person filling out the form also needs to be able save a copy for themselves
    My System:
    Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.7
    Office 2011 for Mac 14.0
    Acrobat X for Mac 10.0.2

I just did what it sounds like you want to do using these instructions for Acrobat Pro 9. Here is the link: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/9.0/Standard/WS3593E0A4-C5E2-4cde-A09E-2A984346DDD2.w. html
To make it so your user can save a copy go to the Advanced Tab and click on Extend Features in Adobe Reader. That should do it. Good Luck.

  • Acrobat X Pro (Mac) crash

I've been running Acrobat X Pro for Mac for about a year now, but it recently started crashing when I open it to view a file. The program opens and I'm able to view a file for about 10 seconds, and then the program crashes and an error report comes up. • Cannot install Acrobat XI pro mac

Just bought a new Acrobat XI Pro for my Mac and I am getting this error message when I try to install:
"The installation cannot proceed, because the operating system is running on a case sensitive volume."
    Please advise.

encryption is another layer (of potential problems) but can be done on case sensitive and case insensitive file systems.  you apparently have an encrypted case-sensitive file system.
you can confirm by creating a directories named test and TEST.  if you have two different directories, you have a case-sensitive file system.
if you do you'll need to change that or create a case-insensitive partition.

  • Can't register my paid for acrobat X Pro Mac

have my serial number. serial number upgrade window says " this serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please choose the one you own and enter it''s serial number." Well, that's all I can do! I upgraded to Yosemite, and reinstalled the Acrobat x pro from the download window on the adobe site. It installed smoothly but I can't use it because I can't register it. Now what?

The serial number is an upgrade. You just need to prove you are eligible (qualified) to use the upgrade. You do that by using the serial number of the OLDER product when asked. So you enter BOTH serials. Be sure to keep them both forever, along with archiving the downloaded installer, since there is no guarantee you'll be able to download it again to reinstall.
