Acrobat XI Pro: Need to click twice on [File- Open] to get the filebrowser

Complete fresh install
Click on File->Open once: get an empty filebrowser
Click on File->OPen twice: filebrowser is visible.

Additional note to my 1st posting: after the Acrobat install, I rebooted.
Then I got this 'empty window'-thing.
Now, FWIW - I updated videodriver (can't believe it has something to do with it, there were other reasons
to install the driver update).
Rebooted and now it seems to be okay.
A bit weird..
But timebeing it looks the issue has solved itself...

I operate with MS Outlook & Firefox open all the time. After a few minutes, Firefox seems to "go to sleep". I can no longer go to a different window in Firefox or see an open Outlook window. Sometimes, I can click on the opposite window (Outlook or Firefox) and everything works right for one command and other times I have to do a CNTL ALT DELETE to open task manager and then click on the application I want to switch to in order to go to the other application.

For MS Visio (any version) only the appropriate version of Acrobat *PRO* provides PDFMaker for Visio.
For Visio 2013 specifically you must have Acrobat XI Pro (updated to at least 11.0.1).

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

What is the exact error? Else you could always reinstall your software.

I have to close the document, open it back up and wait at least 60 seconds before I can do anything. I use Adobe pdfs for everything this is very bad. What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

If all she seeks to do is to change the display name, and she’s willing to leave the account name unchanged, then she could do the following: log in as the administrative user and open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. If the padlock in the lower-left corner is locked, unlock it. Select the account that shows your brother-in-law’s name on the left-hand side of the window, and then on the right-hand side, change the text in the “Full name” textbox to her preferred display name. If desired, click on the padlock in the lower-left corner to relock it.
