Acrobat XI Pro: Text boxes empty after combining PDF files

I have a user when she combines a few documents only one document is missing some text in text boxes that were showing up before. Here is a screen shot of the two files:
The document on the left is what occurs after the files have been combined, the document on the right is the original document. I spoke with tech support, they told me to take the original pdf document then print it to the adobe pdf printer and select the option to print it as an image. Then when we combined the files it was working fine. I also took the original Excel 2010 document that the right document in the image came from, printed that to the Adobe PDF printer and made sure it printed it as an image. Then after combining them it worked once more. My problem is the user didn't have to print the excel doc to an image, she would just have to click on the Acrobat tab in Excel and tell it to create a pdf doc. So is there a setting I'm missing?

I tried uninstalled Acrobat XI and installed Acrobat X but the problem still exists. I spoke with my user some more and found that if she leaves out one of the documents from the combining process this issue does not occur. So either this is a font incompatibility or that document that was left out is corrupt. Any thoughts?

Garbled text after combining PDF files

I have several PDF files to combine - all with bookmarks (though I don't think that matters). After I combine them, there are certain documents within the PDF file that become garbled.
The individual PDF file is not garbled. And I have recreated the individual PDF file as well as the master PDF file to make sure there was no corruption going on. But after combining these documents, certain documents within the master PDF file become garbled.
I don't think it's a font issue as the word is printed to PDF okay.
I even downloaded a trial of Adobe Pro XI - just in case and that didn't help.
Using: Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0
Windows 7 environment

For the files that are getting garbled in this process, try printing those documents to the Adobe PDF printer to 'refry' them. You'll lose your bookmarks, but the documents may combine without issue.
It's likely that the files that are getting garbled aren't properly encoded.

Can I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro to batch convert v1.6 PDF files to v1.3?

Recently I have posted up a project so the contractor can read the text in the PDF and create hyperlinks from these text. These PDFs are in format of engineering drawings.
He informed me that he was going to use PHP to read the PDF text as javascript cannot.
He then asked me to convert the version of our current PDF files from v1.6 to a lower version: v1.3, because php cannot work with higher PDF versions.
So I found this PDF version converter: [link removed by forum host] but it only converts one by one. I have like a few hundreds of them, so I really need something to do batch convert.
Could anyone help me out here? We (the small business I am working at) do not have Adobe Acrobat X Pro but will buy it if it can do the job.
Otherwise could anyone advise me of any other software that can do this?

Yes, Acrobat XI Pro can do this very easily. You can create an Action that runs the PDF Optimizer tool, which can convert the file content so it's compatible with any earlier version of PDF (as well as other things). Actions can then be run against a folder of files.

How do I prevent Acrobat XI Pro from seizing control of inline pdf files in Safari?

I prefer to view pdf files in Preview, but Acrobat rudely grabs control of the pdf functionality in Mac Safari. In the initial screen I choose NO when Acrobat asked if I wanted to use it for viewing browser pdf files, but it paid me no mind.
There is no Acrobat plug-in installed in Library > Internet Plug-Ins, and can find nothing in Safari or Acrobat prefs to allow me to prevent this.
I do not like wasting my life with such nonsense.

I am trying to view and edit PDF documents but Adobe freezes and I have to exit. I have been using the software for over a year with no issues. It is a subscriber version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.
Rebooting my computer has not helped. This has been happening for over a week.
How do I remove/ re-install the software. Windows 8.1 user.

Since you are an annual subscriber of Acrobat XI, you are eligible to install the latest version of this software i.e. Acrobat DC that has been launched today.
You can simply install it from the Creative Cloud desktop application and activate it with your same Adobe credentials.

I recently have installed Adobe Master Suite CS6 Collection. My Adobe acrobat X Pro does not respond after a minute I open up a pdf file. This happens every time when open a new pdf file. My operating system is Windows 7 pro ( Lenovo-64 bits). Any suggestions would be appreciated !!

I ran for the memory diagnostics as it showed the error with video card error. My NVDIA graphics card is not working properly. Do you think that could be a problem?I am running on Windows 7 64 bit computer. It also complains about the incompatibility with 64 bits.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

Automate combining PDF files based on a text list of URL's

I'm wondering how I could automate the combination of PDF files into one, using a list a URL's in a text file (one URL per line, each pointing to a PDF file).
I need to periodically rebuild a combination of PDF files, with the URL's staying the same, but the files behind getting updated. I'm not a Javascript developer, so I'm doing that "manually" by copying and pasting each URL into the "Combine Files" window, but it would be great if I could get Acrobat to read them off a text file.

Acrobat 8 Pro - White haze layer over all pdfs

Hi,
I have Acrobat 8 Pro. When I open a PDF it has a white semi-transparent layer that covers the PDF. The PDF opens normally at first, all the images show up and it looks right and then a white layer covers everything making it kind of hazy. All the PDFs look correct on my co-workers computers, all running Acrobat 8 Pro as well. For some reason my Acrobat is displaying this layer. All my PDFs print normally when I send the files to press. They look normal on other peoples computers, so what setting do I need to enable / disable to stop viewing this transparent haze layer????

First I would try Detect and Repair on the help menu.

Well, I looked for where to delete this but didn't see it.
NEVERMIND; I forced iPhoto to quit and restarted and everything seems fine.
BTW, I did get one thing wrong. When I looked at both iPhoto libraries with FINDER, the active one and the archived one both showed content as far as file size goes.
It was because I was viewing the files through Adobe Bridge that it was showing 0 GB's; for whatever reason.
