Acrobat XI Pro transformed to a trial edition

My daughter's Acrobat XI Pro was installed a year ago and worked just fine. Now we get a splash screen saying it's a trial version. When I try enter the serial number it's not accepted (only numeric characters are accepted, serial contains alphabetic characters).

Was something else installed recently that may be causing problems?
What installation could cause problems? Software installation and removal is a regular occurrence. None of it is adobe related (besides adobe updates)
Have you tried doing a repair and/or updates?
How? It wont start. I get a splash screen and can get no further.
What OS are you running, Win or MAC?
Win 7 (6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601)

    Yes. I have tried to repair it, but it still didn't work. I had to completely uninstall - reboot - then do a clean install. Works beautifully for a few weeks, then nothing.

    Seems wierd, but I want to download it here at home on my fast connection so I can then install it on my Mac at work which has a R E A L L Y   R E A L L Y   S L O W connection.

  • Acrobat X Pro Ctrl E option for Edit Document Text tool

    Hi,
    When I use the "Edit Document Text" tool (formerly TouchUp Text) in Adobe X Pro and press Ctrl E, it's saying "Properties No current selection".
    However, pressing Ctrl E on other tools such as Comments, Link etc, the Properties toolbar is showing properly.  And when I switch back into using the  "Edit Document Text" tool, the Properties toolbar will show as grayed out.
    I tried using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and it's doing the same thing.
    Is the Ctrl E Properties toolbar is not really available for "Edit Document Text" tool?  Do I really have to right click on the area and choose Properties?

    When try try to install Adobe Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.2 by clicking setup.exe.. am gettting error msg as .. "windows cannot find ...\....\...\appdata\local\temp\updatecol.exe". I also tried to install with acropro.msi and am getting error message as "Error 13.5. Error reading from file.. ...\...\..\adobe Acrobat XI\AcroPro.msi. Verify that the file exists and you can access it". am installing as administrator. trying this on Win7-64 bit i5 processor.. plz provide solution

    When I Google this file 'Updatecol.exe' it gives information of it being a Trojan / malware.
    Update the Antivirus software you have and run it to check if it detects it.
    Try navigating to the location and try removing the file and then try reinstalling and check.

    I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and now my trial is over.  I can no longer view any .pdf files on my computer--every time I download a .pdf file it just takes me to this site and tries to get me to buy the product.  I tried to uninstall this program, and when I do it says, "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transforms are valid."  Please help me get rid of this so that I can re-install Adobe Reader so that I can view my own files!

    I have a saved pdf contract that I'm trying to edit. I previously had the trial version of Acrobat XI Pro. After the trial ran out, yesterday I did the subscription for $20 per month.   • I have encountered the following problems with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro version 11.0.9 with OS X  "Yosemite" version 10.0.

    1. PDF files from the Internet can be opened but graphics do not appear. In place of the graphic the area is colored gray.
    2. I use an HP scanner to create PDF documents. I am unable to use Adobe Acrobat XI to scan from my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  Apple reports an error.  However, I can scan documents to PDF using an HP utility, however, these documents cannot be displayed  by Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and therefore, cannot be edited or used to create forms.  The documents can be displayed by Adobe Acrobat Reader.
    These problems also existed under the previous OS X system “Maverick”. Please tell me that only a change in setting is required to be able to read and edit these documents created via scan or describe a usable work-around solution.

    Point 1: try turning on "Show large images" in your preferences. In Acrobat for Windows, it's under the Page Display preferences. I'm not sure about OS X.

    Note, the same site collection(with claim based authentication), opens and allows to edit microsoft document successfully. There is request-response sequence.

    When site is with NTLM authentication, adobe acrobat x pro opens and allow to edit successfully. But when it there is Claim Based authentication, it cannot. It seems Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not have capability to send appropriate headers to handle claim based authentication. Also it is not able handle the sequence of request-response for claim based authentication. When searched on web, there is one product of Acrobat called LiveCycle, which has capability to handle SAML. Does that mean Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not have the capability to handle Claim based authentication so it is depend on LiveCycle for it?

  • Acrobat X Pro | Will not launch

    Moved to a new laptop.
    Deactivated Acrobat X Pro on old laptop
    Reinstalled Acrobat X Pro (with Sr # - not trial version)
    Installs OK. PDF Printer installed and works.
    But Acrobat will not launch, after the initial 'splash' screen.
    No error messages.
    Same with Distiller.
    PDF documents open with Reader only
    Windows 7 - 64 bit - Same as on old laptop. Worked perfectly well on old laptop.

    Update:
    Had a support ticket set up and got a call back pretty quick from the Adobe Support Team.
    Unintalled Reader X - to avoid possible conflict with X Pro.
    Deleted cache and pcd files from CommonFiles/Adobe PCD
    Logged out of domain user profile
    Logged in as a local user
    Acrobat lauched, connected with Adobe, and worked ok.
    Logged out as local user and logged in again as normal user.
    Acrobat X Pro lauched and works fine.

    Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not have the editing features I need.  Did I just overwrite my more upgraded version of Adobe Acrobat when I downloaded Adobe Acrobat X Pro from the Creative Cloud?  Please advise.
