Acrobat XI - Text suchen - ersetzen

Seit dem 11er Acrobat kann man ja Text suchen + ersetzen.
Gibt es im Acrobat auch eine Funktion, bei vielen zu ersetzenden Wörtern alle Wörter zu ersetzen - ähnlich wie in Word "alle ersetzen" ?

Ich habe es mit einem pdf-Editor einer anderen Firma hinbekommen - wer meinen Betreff googelt, kann es finden.

ich arbeite mit der Version "Adobe Acrobat X Pro" auf Win7x64 und habe ein PDF-Dokument mit über 100 Seiten. In diesem Dokument ist leider mein Name falsch geschrieben wordenund ich würde diesen gerne durch das den Adobe komplett ersetzen lassen.Ich finde leider nur die Funktionen zum Suchen, aber den Punkt Ersetzen finde ich nicht.

Kann ich das Ersetzen mit der neuen Version auch automatisieren - soll alle Werte ersetzen - ?
Ich habe mir die Test-XI-Version gerade installiert und muss nun bei jedem Fund manuell ersetzen klicken.

Adobe Acrobat Pro text box not printing and is hidden under box highlight.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.13. I am completing a form with text box throughout the document. I can no get the text box to printing and the text is hidden under box highlight. I have tried printing with the print feature 'Comments & Forms/ Document and Markups' with no luck.

It's doing that because you have field highlighting enabled. YOu can either turn it off or make the field read-only (if it's only used for display and not entry).

Acrobat 11 - Text boxes are garbled

Windows XP, Acrobat 11 (Hebrew)
I saved a number of Word 2007/2010 documents as PDFs and then combined them into one PDF. The original Word documents contained many textboxes. Although the individual Word documents that were saved as PDFs are fine, and the combined document looks fine as well, sometimes errors occurred.
I printed the document to my in-house printer and all was fine. I used WeTransfer to transfer the file to a publisher.
a) When he printed, a few of the many text boxes were missing some of the text. He sent back the file. I fixed the textboxes and sent it back using WeTransfer. At that time, a different textbox was missing some text. Also,
b) Occassionally, within a textbox, the ? at the end of a line printed at the beginning of the line instead.
Does anyone know if there is a bug or other reason that this is occurring?

Lori, no, I had not been using the PDFMaker on the Acrobat ribbon. I had gone to Save As and changed the Type to Adobe PDF. I looked at the Acrobat ribbon now but I am having difficulty.
I see that under Preferences | Advanced Settings | Fonts, I can select fonts to embed and remove those in the Do Not Embed list. How do I ensure that this sticks? If I click Save, I am prompted for a name but when I return to the Advanced Settings | Fonts dialog box, the original setting is there.
How do I make the setting stick? How do I use my named settings? Is there a way I can use it automatically for all ~90 previously saved documents I am working with?
Also, should the “Subset fonts when percent of characters used is less than:” be set to 1?
Bill, where are the Print or Press job settings?

Adobe Acrobat 8 text search not working

Hi,
I am trying to search for text in a pdf produced by oracle (not that it should matter) and nothing is being found. Any ideas. I can highlight a work and it's loaded automatically when I enter Control F but the reader cant find it.
I wish I'd never downloaded Acrobat reader 8

It's version 8.1.1 on Suse Linux 9.3.

I will be downgrading to Acrobat 7 to see if it fixes the problem, (with the added benefit of getting rid of this clumsy new interface and speeding everthing back up).

Acrobat 9 Text Box Default Text Properties

Acrobat 9: How do you change the default text properties for a text box?

I take it you are talking about the text box from the Comment and Markup Toolbar?
Yes, to access the Properties of a drawn box, select the box and right click(Control click on Mac) , a pop up menu will appear, choose > Properties... and amend as necessary. (Sounds like you probably knew that bit already).
When in the Properties dialog box you will see a check box at the bottom that says 'Make Properties Default'
Also an already modified box can be right clicked on the reveal 'Make Current Properties Default' from the pop up menu

Export PDF InDesign to Acrobat 5 - Text display & print GLITCH- letters overlap/stack in some words

Hello,
This is my first post, so please be gentle
I'm having an issue with certain words and linked graphics when viewing and printing PDFs exported from InDesign CS5.5 to Acrobat 5.
The glitchy words appear to have the letters stacked on top of eachother creating a garbled mess.
When I scroll up/down in Acrobat 5, the word will change appearance... sometimes okay, sometimes messed up. The document will print as it's displayed in Acrobat (good or bad).
This issue is inconsistent... sometimes the same paragraph style or graphic used in other areas of the document will never look corrupt. The ones that display this issue always waivers back & forth.
This doesn't seem to be an issue in later versions of Acrobat. However, our company still has MANY users on Acrobat 5 and exporting to later versions will cause major compatibility problems.
Can someone tell me what could be causing this issue, and how I can correct it?

Software / System details:
Operating system is Windows XP
View / Print from Acrobat 5.0.0 (3/22/2001)
File created in InDesign CS5.5 (version 7.5.1) <---Update 12/8/11 2:53PM EST: Upgraded to version 7.5.2... Problem persists.
Graphics created in Illustrator CS5.1 (version 15.1.0)
The graphic is a black box with white text (Arial font) created in Illustrator CS5.1, and saved as AI file. Linked in InDesign file as anchored graphic.
The text is set up in InDesign as a paragraph style with first word as a nested style. ALL text is Arial font.

When I embed the Arial font upon export from InDesign (Subset fonts when percent of characters used is less than 0%), the problem words appear okay.
Why would there be an issue subsetting Arial font? I could understand if the font was unusual, but Arial????
So, the only solutions I could come up with is either print to pdf, or export with embedding all fonts (increases file size). If anyone has a better solution, please let me know.

After a few rounds of testing various things:
I applied a Master Page of None to all the pages - and the pages exported correctly.
I reapplied all the master pages to the various pages as needed. And again it exported incorrectly.
I deleted all the Master Pages - recreated them and reapplied them - and it's all working as normal.
Cause seems to be some sort of corruption with the Master Pages.

Acrobat X Text Editing

Hi,
We upgraded from Acrobat 7 to X. Now documents that we used to be able to use text editing on we no longer can. We get an error message about embedded fonts. Not certain how the old version could perform text editing but the new version can't. What did we do wrong? Thanks.

Figures I figure out how to get MORE back after I post, but still no properties. This is what I get now.

Illustrator to Acrobat - Edit Text

So I had to make a marketing pdf with graphics and text. They only way I knew how to was in illustrator CS5. I exporting the individual pages then combined them all in Acrobat X. Now a sales rep needs me to change the text on some of the pages for a particular client. Is there an easy way I can make the full pdf document have editable text so my sales reps can change it as needed?
Can this be done by saving it as a word document? When I tried it with 1 page the fonts changed on me. I don't know Acrobat that well so I'm starting to learn it now. Should I have made the template in Illustrator and did the text in Acrobat???

No, this isn't really realising. Everyone working on a collaborative document needs to use the same software, and recreate the PDF after even the smallest change. Or, one person needs to co-ordinate the change. Acrobat doesn't turn PDFs into a simply editable thing, and it's best not to even start down the limited editing path that is there.
I'd like to recommend you consider InDesign, probably a far more suitable tool. Or even Word if the layout is simpler.
Above all KEEP THE ORIGINAL AND REMAKE THE PDF. On no account ever convert from PDF to something else to edit it.

Acrobat X - Text Wrap - Header

Hi,
I need to place a disclaimer on each page of various documents we send to clients. This disclaimer is up to 600 characters long. In previous version of Acrobat the disclaimer text would wrap but with Version 10 there doesn't seem to be any Wrap function i.e. the header text extends well past both edges of the page.
Is there a way to force the header text to wrap?

Ok. I figured out that if I apply the CR LF to the text before pasting it into the Adobe header that this does the job of Wrapping the text.
Next problem - Adobe seem to have restricted the number of characters allowed in a header to 508 (this restriction didn't apply in version 9). Is there some way to increase this to the 600 characters that I need?

Acrobat XI: Text in Formular einfügen

Hallo Community!
Ich erstelle per Automation diverse Felder in einem PDF-Formular [z.B. (AFormAut.App).Add("City", "text", 0, 100, 590, 345, 615)]. Die PDF-Datei wurde ursprünglich mit Word erstellt und hat somit auch einen „fixen“ Formulartext (z.B. „Name und Adresse hier eingeben:“). Das funktioniert auch alles wunderbar.
Gibt es jedoch die Möglichkeit, auch per Automation einen „normalen“ Text in ein Formularfeld einzufügen? Alternativ könnte man ein normales Formular-Textfeld zur Textanzeige verwenden (mit der Option „Schreibgeschützt“ und als Standardwert den angezeigten Text). Aber in der Werkzeugliste gibt es in der Kategorie „Inhaltsbearbeitung“ das Tool „Text hinzufügen“, mit dem man ganz normalen Text erstellen kann. Kann man dieses Tool auch per Automation verwenden?

In a text zone comments I will change the size of letters.
For the help the size is define by the "systems characters".
I dont understand what change in the systems to change the size in the text zone.

Acrobat X: Text für Verknüpfungen markieren

Hallo,
ich habe bezüglich Verknüpfungen etwas vergessen, was ich früher konnte. Was ich noch kann, ist Verknüpfungen gemäß Hilfe als manuell aufgezogenes Rechteck zu erstellen (Anlage oben). Aber ich habe es früher offenkundig geschafft, den Text als solchen zu markieren wie mit dem Auswahlwerkzeug für Text (Anlage unten). Ich komme nicht mehr drauf, wie es geht, und ich finde auch keine Beschreibung. Ich bitte um Hilfe.

in dieser Richtung hatte ich auch schon experimentiert, aber offenkundig mache ich etwas falsch: Ich rufe die Seite auf, klicke auf den Button "Auswahlwerkzeug", markiere den Text und klicke unter Werkzeuge > Inhalt auf "Verknüpfung". Der Cursor ändert sich in das bekannte Fadenkreuz zur grafischen Markierung. Es ist eindeutig ein Textdokument, weil ich Text markieren und als solchen beispielsweise in den Editor kopieren kann.

Are there any free apps to download to change PDF adobe acrobat to text that I can change

I am looking for a small Dell black and white, laser printer like the Energy Star 1133 that is compatible with my macbook, 10.6.8. I would like to buy a new computer in the near future so would need it to be work on my next computer also. Any suggestions?

Not freebies. But some inexpensive ones at the App Store. I have had good results with PDF Converter OCR.

What is WRONG with Acrobat (Randomly Drops Text)

I'm at the end of my rope
with Acrobat CS3. It randomly distills my contract documents with whole para
graphs missing here and there. Sometimes I can reboot and get the whole document to print, but again today, I have a contract that
didn't print completely even after a full system reboot.
Trying to distill from Word 2003. Short documents of a page are usually okay, though I have been having problems with some lines of text missing on invoices I print out of Excel. But this 5-page contract is giving me headaches.. I'll have to resort to either printing and scanning the doc back in and distilling it as a graphic to PDF, or copying and pasting the whole thing into QuarkXpress, which has a PDF distiller that is 100% reliable. I wish I could use THAT distiller with Word! I can't stand this. Why can't Acrobat distiller reliably distill documents? A contract is a serious thing.. missing paragraphs can mean serious legal trouble!!
I need an alternative, unless there is a fix for this problem.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of converting it to Postscript first.. I
can print to Postscript printers without this missing text. It's only when I print to Acrobat that text, headers and footers are missing after the first page.
As I am not having trouble printing to Postscript devices, I doubt the hotfix would help. Anyway, there's no clickable download link, and when I request support, they only have a hotfix for Vista and XP SP4. I'm on SP2.
I can print to Postscript driver and then import the PS into Quark and print it out that way. I think that works, as Quark's PDF writer always works flawlessly and with no delays. The Acrobat distiller takes about 2 minutes to create my file, 90 seconds of which, it appears to be frozen still. Quark takes 3 seconds to do the same thing and the resulting PDF has no missing elements.
