Acrobat XI will not accept my serial number

I've just spent 2 hours with tech support and they cut me off without finishing adressing the issue (in addition to being told Acrobat XI doesn't come with the Cloud). I have installed Acrobat XI from the Application Manager. When I launch Acrobat it first gives me a trial screen (we own the full Creative Cloud service and have for months). When I select the License button, I get the "You don't have an active internet connection" (which I do). If I then choose to Enter Serial Number and enter the number we have for our CC, I get a message that the number is not valid for Acrobat XI Pro - and that's as far as I can go.
Any help here would be great.

Acrobat XI is included with Creative Cloud and as John mentioned, is tied to your Adobe ID (Creative Cloud doesn't use a serial numbers). There is a serial number associated with your Creative Cloud membership (that appears under registered products) but it is not used for installation only registration/product ownership. Acrobat only supports having a single version installed (excluding reader) and should be installed through Adobe Application Manager, generally previous versions get uninstalled for you automatically. There was an issue with licensing and Acrobat X (not XI) that resulted in having to de-activate and re-activate another CS6 product (often would show a 130:11 error) but I haven't continued to see similar reports with XI.

I had a lot of trouble with the re-install and had to uninstall CS4 several times. I also had to update the Windows add/remove program and so on. The whole process was very frustrating and time consuming. It took a whole weekend to get the PC (piece of crap) working again. Now all the CS4 programs work EXCEPT Acrobat.     As I stated in my original post I'm using Window XP. I used solution 1 above successfully to get all the rest of the CS4 programs working again but with Acrobat 9 Pro, it did not work.  I now know how much time that delete and re-install procedure takes, and I'm not about to start going through that again and again like before. If there isn't a simple, practical fix available I'll just learn to live without Acrobat 9. And no, I will not be sending you my serial number. as I have no way of knowing if you work for Adobe. Anyone can post to this forum. I registered my product long ago and if you really work for Adobe you can look it up.

    Could you please let me know what error prompts on your screen when you are trying to enter the serial number.
    Have you bought subscription for Acrobat, if yes then you might need to sign in at "adobe.com" using your Adobe ID credentials to activate subscription.

    If you have purchased an Acrobat XI upgrade you will be prompted to enter the Acrobat XI serial number first then the serial number for the prior version.
    Which serial number isn't being accepted?  Please provide more details and send me a private message with both serial numbers so I can check further.

    I'm also getting the "invalid serial number", but I'm wanting to upgrade my 5.1 to 5.1.4 to take advantage of HDV 720p/24 support. Is the 5.1.4 update even an option still? I really don't want to be forced to upgrade to FCS2 and shell out $500, just to get this one feature that was included in a patch.
    I went to the Registration page and it actually allowed me to register the serial number... (which I'm pretty sure I already had), but it still won't let me in to download any updates. Also, the email confirmation that was supposed to be sent has not arrived 20+ minutes later.
    Very strange. I called Apple support and they estimated a wait time of 15 mins... ugh.
    Anyone have other suggestions?

    Get their phone number from their main web pages (start by clicking the red Adobe icon on this page).  Look for Contact Us links.  The phone numbers don't jump out and shout at you but neither are they hidden.
    When you get Customer Support on the phone, describe what you've been through and ask them nicely to make BOTH your allowed activations available to you once again.
